This place is solid. I enjoyed our stay here. It is a great location. Less than 10 minutes from downtown Truckee and less than 30 from Reno. Plus the river and Boca reservoir are minutes away. The store/deli is awesome has all kinds of fun stuff including things you might of forgot.. We got breakfast there and sat on the patio. It was super nice. I highly recommend the breakfast burrito. They have a swing set and tether ball that myself and my daughter highly enjoyed. There is a few long term campers here but that didn't bother me much. Camp sites are a little tight but very clean. Yes you hear the highway and an occasional passing train but honestly our AC was running 80% of the time so if you can sleep through that then you can sleep through anything. Lol read more

This is only a review of the wonderful lady that worked the store, on Aug 13th around 8:00am. My friends car was having problems, coming back from Hot August Nights. Luckily we got off at their exit and drove in. We started to try to figure what was wrong in their parking lot. After a few, we walked in the store. The lady inside offered to let us use their tools, if it would help. Thank god she offered because she had the right size wrenches for the fix. The picture above is not remotely where this RV Park is. The RV sites are all really close together and we had to listen to our neighbor start up his diesel truck at 5am, which he left running. The park is right on busy Hwy 80. Way too noisy! We were suppose to stay 2 nights, but left early the next morning. Would never have stayed there 2 nights. There are also a lot of people that live there. Not our cup of tea. We are giving them two stars because the people at the front office were very nice and did refund our money for the second night. Found a beautiful RV Park in Clio just south of Graeagle. Quiet and "really" on the river. read more

Our first first here and we're definitely coming back- clean bathroom facilities are important to me and these are the cleanest I've seen! Full hook ups and the area around the sewer is clean, not crummy and 'dumpy' like other campgrounds- Trees provide ample shade- only about 50(?) spaces so it's not overcrowded; right off the highway; they have a raft guide excursion; a small play area with swings, a covered outdoor patio with bbq grill etc.. This place is wonderful. Yes you have the freeway and train tracks next door, but the gas is always cheap and the market is awesome. Great food (Grant made me a delicious sandwich today) and large selection making it so you don't need to go to town. I highly recommend Tammy's banana bread with chocolate chips, so good. Luke does a great job maintaining the place and he's a pleasure to interact with. Located on the river with immediate access to Boca and Stampede. Spent a couple of days at this park....what a pile of crap! Trash everywhere, not only the owners/operators & staff, but also the company they keep! Partying goes on all night, with no concern for the noise level or their guests. Was told, "you're just here for a few nights.....so none of this really matters....." Be weary of your belongings! Things are stolen from under or around your camper and from your shower stall -- while taking a shower! Can't make that one up! A total scam about being on the Truckee River! Good luck getting to the river! You have to hike across a busy road and then down a steep embankment! Constant noise & trains will keep you up all night! Better off at a campground on the way to Tahoe City, one that is really on the river!! read more

Driving up to the Check in area has a very appealing appearance, Truckee river across the road, friendly staff, nice exterior grounds and nice little store interior. However upon driving to our RV site we noticed about half of the sites had permanent/temp unit in them. The sites are very nice/spacious, hookups are good with grass and fir shade trees. Checking out the two restroom/shower buildings, only one building was operating and with only one toilet working in the men's room. Restroom/Showers were just okay, needs some TLC. The daytime/evening noise levels being pretty high with Hwy 80 and the Train tracks with in ear & eye distance, yet these seem quiet down in the a.m. hours. Close by to the town of Truckee with good access to Hwy 80. read more

The RV Park is located a stones drive from Truckee. The facilities are clean and the general store where you check in has a lot of items you will be tempted to buy for the RV. I needed a 50 amp to 30 amp converter plug the night before I arrived. I was able to buy this here. Truckee River RV We stayed at the campground 5 days, 4 nights and here are our impressions: PROS * VERY friendly staff * Easy access on and off hiway 80 * 24 hour gas at RV park. Same price as in town * Campground store well stocked with reasonable prices * Made to order breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches and fresh brewed coffee for a reasonable price at the campground store * Most sites have grass area and are well maintained * 30 minutes to Reno CONS * Most sites EXTREMELY close together. Our picnic table was about 3ft from our neighbors car. We were in space 14 * ZERO privacy between campsites * Free wi-fi is spotty at best * Sites on back loop of campground shabby looking * NON STOP TRAFFIC NOISE from hiway 80 a few hundred yards away, 24 hours a day!!!!! Seems to be worse at night * Southern Pacific train goes by campground 4 to 5 times EVERY night, blowing it's horn at street crossing right across the river from the campground. Bring your ear plugs if you want a good nights sleep. read more

This was the first and last time I'll stay at this RV park. We had reservation for 3 rigs about 3 months ahead of our stay. About a week before our trip, they called and told us they were moving is around, but that we were still together. Not so, one person in our group was placed across from us and other rigs were between us. Also, the pamphlet with the parks rules state that any items left on the grass are subject to getting wet since they have to water the grass. Understandable. However, the blacktop area for sights aren't that wide, so any chairs or tables you set up need to be picked up every evening. Even if you do put item on the blacktop, they will still get soaked since the sprinklers sprayed even our trailer and the contents under them. My trailer started water spotting and chairs under my trailer were soaked, a hammock behind my trailer which was completely on the blacktop was soaked. We even witnessed maintenance weed eating at a sight with a tent and the weeds were flying into the tent. Nice looking place, but poorly managed/maintained. read more

I talked to someone about making reservations here and things sounded nice. I did some research and decided to drive up here and check the place out. Boy am I glad we made the trip. Upon arrival you enter a small tight one-way driveway. You check in at the little store. We got to drive through the park to check out what site me might want. After the first 100 yards in, you can see that a lot of people live here. It's more of a trailer park, not a real RV park. Part of this place is right against noisy highway 80. After driving up the hill and making the turn to the other side, there was more evidence that people live here and there are hardly any rental spaces worth renting. I saw maybe 12 available spots. Who wants to spend a leisurely weekend staring at all of the crap and junk built up around these trailers. If you want to see the true meaning of trailer trash, drive through this place. Management should not allow this!!! It is disgusting. We decided not to stay here and went to look closer to Reno where the RV parks are much nicer. Sorry TRRV, it's my honest opinion and it's my right to express it. Don't waste your time or money going here. read more

You can go wrong staying here. The owners are the greatest, they go out of their way to satisfy your needs. Their friendly and you truly feel like family while staying at their park. It super clean and their little store is well stocked with quite the variety of stuff and not over prices either. I saw the owner cutting branches off a tree so that it would be in the way of a very larger motorhome. It's a very friendly family place which we loved seeing families enjoy riding their bikes and playing at the nice play ground. Some have complained of the noise from the highway and it can be a bit nosey if your parked in the front. But with everything else being so positive about the owners and the quality of this park the noise didn't bother us. It's also close to fishing, Truckee, and Reno. read more

We are currently staying at the Truckee River RV Park in site 39. The park is very well maintained. Each site has a BBQ as there is no burning of firewood. You can rent a propane fire pit which we did for $25 for the stay and that includes a tank of propane. Each site has water electric snd sewer. i want you to know this is not an asphalt parking lot. There is grass and a picnic table for each site. There are rules that there will be no carport or artificial grass on the lawn. which is understandable. There are clean restrooms with showers and a laundry room. Play Area Equipment with ping pong and fooseball This RV Park is very quite. No loud music Quiet Hours start at 9pm. No Generators Running Dogs are on leashes and there are potty bags available. During our stay guests were very considerate of not walking thru your camp. There is the noise of HWY 80 but it did not bother us. The river is close by and there is fishing. The store and deli are very well stocked. You can even buy a fishing license. Could be 5 stars if the bathrooms had a remodel. We used this as a quick summer overnighter spot on a longer road trip. Our site was positioned on a hill with a lovely breeze and really nice plush grass that the dogs and our feet enjoyed. A very quiet park with a nice feel. Yes, some of the rigs seem to be lived in but it's not a big negative as some of the other reviews have stated. You can barely tell there are residents and we felt very comfortable and safe. 20 minutes to the lake and for $57 total our family got exactly what we'd hoped for. read more

Enjoyed our stay here in our 40' Class A. Used it for our base camp location for exploring Lake Tahoe, Reno and alpine Sierra areas near Truckee. Lots of grass and trees to enjoy and very clean property. Store and Deli onsite, as well as 24 hour gas station. Truckee River view is a short walk away. Only a few 50 amp sites and no TV connections. Negative is noise from I80 freeway and train that runs near the river a couple times a day, but we masked that noise at night by running our RV fan or turning on the white noise. read more

Wow... This is one of the best RV Parks in the Sierra's. I Have to say that of all the RV Parks in the area, this one by far exceeds our expectations. Where else can you full up your vehicle, top off your propane, make purchases in their general store, purchase a fishing license. just to name a few benefits. We love the fact that you are miles from a variety of Lakes, feet from the Truckee River, close to Lake Tahoe, Historic Truckee, Reno. Recreational opportunities everywhere you look, Biking, Hiking, Skiing, Boating, etc. all this while your nestled in the beautiful Sierra's. My family and I regularly stay at the Truckee River RV Park. They have sites suitable for everything from tent camping to luxury diesel pushers. We own a 37' 5th wheel with (3) pop-outs and the site suits our coach very well with our vehicle. I have no problem recommending the Truckee River RV Park to family and friends. As a Business owner I too Have to admit there just are some people you can't please. The Owner's go out of there way to ensure you have the best experience in RV Living. This RV park is situated right next to Boca National Forest: that is US forest Land. So if you stay here, you have: lakes, trails and lots of river banks to walk and explore. Truckee is an easy 15 to 20 minute ride away for shopping, exploring and supplies. The showers are big, and clean. The park is well maintained. The Truckee River is 2 minute walk from the park if you like to get some early fishing in. They sell fish license and Luke can share with some fishing knowledge albeit fisherman are notoriously tight lipped. The RV park has a gas station and a small store. The small store has a generous supply of basic needs and Yes, beer and Wine. The Deli is great, the sandwiches are well made and are good sized! On hot day it is good to sit on the outside deck and eat or have Ice Cream! The park's owner or better said: Kith and Kin run the Park, so you will see the family nature here. Lots of kids I saw here play all day, with lots of smiles and laughter. The park has a small play area for the younglings right by the laundry area, common outside area and showers, so parental management is designed into the park! The park has as well, Wifi. Last the park has river guide venders or outfits there, so if you are coming in, you can sign up for river rafting trip and then come home. So this RV park has a lot to offer and good people to relate with. One drawback is it is near the Interstate, but many come to explore and the noise is not that bad. :) read more

Staff sets the standard for this hillside park, and the bar is high. We were so fortunate to interact with Jo and Kelly when we needed a problem solved. The check in area can be crowded, so one waits your turn and drives up the hill. Nice grass and trees between spaces, all back in spots. The 50 amp space we had was big enough for 40 foot motorhome and tow car. You could tell that some people were full timers, but the "junk and trash" that another review mentioned was not in evidence. Nice covered pavilion with comfy seating near laundry, and cant forget wonderful deli with homemade banana bread and cookies! We will be back. read more

We checked out MANY RV parks in the area, including Reno. This resort has everything you could ever want. 30 and 50 amp sites. Bathrooms and showers. A small playground for the kids. A General Store with EVERYTHING you could want or need in a pinch, and their prices are comparable to the grocery store. The staff is uber friendly and always on top of their stuff. The owners are always maintaining the premises and taking good care of their residents. We moved from the Bay Area and are extremely pleased with Truckee River RV Park. We plan on staying as long as they will have us. Wonderful people, great park, friendly neighbors. We were in a pinch over the winter and lost power and our neighbor let us use his generator until we got our own. Very nice neighbors, some stay, some are in and out in a matter of a night. Everything is uber clean. The only downfall is there are residents who do not pick up their dog poop. So when my daughter gets in trouble I make her walk around the park and pick up the dog poop. Overall amazing place to be in the winter or the spring/summer. They kindly accept dogs, no questions asked. They kindly accept children, no questions asked. They are amazing. Let me begin by noting that although we are becoming more and more friendly with the owners, we are most certainly not friends or family as was leveled by the previous reviewer. As RV owners for the past 5 years, we have camped across the USA in many different RV parks - from the elite parks in Vegas to the random unmanned park off I-40, from Florida to Oregon. We have had our RV parked here monthly since January of this year as our 2nd home. We were initially impressed by the amount of greenery in the park and the distance between spaces, and appreciated the pristine, isolated location in the Sierras which is directly across from the Truckee River. The park has an awesome camp store, which is extremely well stocked when compared to other parks, as well as a deli that offers terribly addictive sandwiches. In addition, the park has the unique feature of on site gasoline, and propane!! When compared to other RV parks, we find the monthly rates to be extremely reasonable. They offer the most economical monthly rates in the area. We have also been in multiple spaces and have no issues pulling our slides out. In fact, one of the reasons we chose this park was because it is one of the only parks in Reno/Tahoe area that we can comfortably pull out our slides and not worry about hitting another RV or staring directly into someone else's windows. Since arriving, we have found the owners to be extremely helpful with any and all requests, at any time of day, including after hours when we forgot our wrench that we needed to swap out the external propane tank! When they purchased the park it was in disarray. They have done an amazing amount of work and are continuing to improve the park weekly! Yes, they stay busy, but we appreciate the level of dedication and work being done, and regularly see improvements to our individual RV space! She does homeschool her children, but we have never had an impact to our service level due to this. Then again, we homeschool our kids as well, and respect the amount of work involved, especially when running a business too. We were also there on the day of the unplanned water outage but were not concerned. However, maybe we have a different point of view as we previously lived in a hurricane zone and have experienced unplanned water and electric outages for up to a week. Life happens. And, in this case, the owners were doing everything they could to fix the problem as quickly as possible. read more
