The first week in May, we purchased a 2005 Silverado from Jay. After some back and forth haggling we agreed to a price I considered reasonable for a fairly low mileage truck but definitely not a steal. During the test drive process, I noted that alternator gauge was doing strange things, I mentioned it to Jay, he reluctantly agreed to have it fixed at their cost. He wrote it up, I gave him a check for the full price and left to my home in Sacramento. The next day, I went to put the key into the driver's door, imagine my surprise to find a hole in the handle assembly but the lock cylinder is missing. I immediately called Jay, he admitted they weren't aware it was missing either because they had always used the remote. He said it was an easy fix and would get it done when they fixed the gauge cluster. 4 weeks later after no calls regarding the repairs, I was in Manteca so I went by the lot. Imagine my surprise when I was informed Jay was no longer there and I should speak with David. During my conversation with David, he informed me since the gauges were in writing, he'd repair it but refused to even address the door lock. I advised him the missing lock would be interpreted as a safety issue and by law had to be repaired. Still he refused, and threatened to not do any repairs. I told him he was to get the contracted repairs completed today and have the owner Agustin call me before days end. He said he would. By the end of the day, the gauges were repaired and David agreed to have Agustin call me. Three weeks later, still no call, three attempts to call him but he's rarely there. Will likely have to contact DMV investigations to go after their license to get anything done. Apparently Jay now sells trailers in Turlock so he could care less read more

I recently bought a used car from there and paid in full. Javier, the salesman, promised to get the missing trunk cover on April 1,2024. To this date, he hasn't sent it to me. He says his Manager, Agustin Ramos, still has to purchase it. I kept texting with Javier asking when i will get the missing part & he kept saying he has it but waiting fir the DMV to send the registration & title so he can send it to me all at the same time. I drove there a couple of times to pick up the title of the car part. Finally on June 11,2024, I drove there to pick up the papers but the part wasn't there. This time, Javier made sure he wasn't there to talk to me so i had to deal with Agustin Ramos. He looked very bored at me & didn't really want to hear what i have to say. This place did my cousin dirty. When he bought the car, he left it with them to fix an issue with the gauges. They kept it for about three weeks, saying they couldn't find the part. After signing all the "as is" paperwork and finally getting it to the house, he realized they removed the winch that was attached to the front bumper of the truck. Not only that, the salesman had the rear window switched out with one that didn't have a small window to open. Not once did the salesman say they switched and removed those two items. When my wife and I first purchased our truck from Trucks Max USA last week, I had no problem giving them 5 stars for their customer service and their willingness to bend over backwards to provide us the truck we wanted and at the price we wanted to pay. They didn't exactly meet our price, but we still got a hell of a deal. Jay assured us that their mechanics have gone over the truck and it's in very good working order. We were extremely excited and felt good about our purchase. The next couple days I heard a "clunk" sound whenever I would accelerate from a dead stop and during sudden stops. It got to be annoying to me so I made an appointment with my mechanic. It was raining the day of my appointment and my truck happen to fishtail when I accelerated from a dead stop. So now I'm thinking it needs new tires. So after my mechanic looked it over, he said the clunking sound is coming from the front suspension. Not only that, he found an oil leak from the transmission and he confirmed that I needed a new set of tires. This is only partial reason why I'm giving them a low rating. My mechanic also noticed that we had no spare tire. I called Jay at Trucks Max USA and he was apologetic and explained they remove the spares to avoid them from getting stolen. He said he would make arrangements to have it delivered to me and that he would call me back later that day to confirm. At this point, I'd give them a 4 star rating, only because we ended up with a truck with $2k worth of problems. Because Jay was so understanding, I'd still give their customer service 5 stars. What happens next is where their star rating drops to a 1 (less if that was possible). I have called Jay many times about this spare tire and each time I would get a response that he would call me back in 20 minutes. I never get a call back. It got to a point where they put me on hold for 25 minutes and then hung up. Then they started avoiding my calls. Then I had to call from a different area code in order for them to answer. I asked for Jay and the man on the phone asked me who I was. I gave him a name (not mine). He asked what was this regarding and I said about a car. Then I asked him if I was speaking to Jay. He said yes. Not once during this call he led me to believe that he was Jay. Seriously, is this how one runs a business? I asked him why he was avoiding my calls and he simply said they've been busy. So he tells me that he doesn't have anyone driving to my area anytime soon. So if I want my spare tire, I would have to drive 1.5 hours to get it or someone can meet me half way. Wait a minute! Since it was their fault for not putting the spare tire back on the truck which we paid for, shouldn't they make arrangements to have it delivered to me? Funny, when we were first interested in buying, he (Jay) treated us like VIP's. He took all our calls and even called me. No other dealer would even look at me with a credit score under 500 so when they said they would work with me if I could put $3000 down payment I was so shocked and happy I couldn't believe it. So as expected no solution was provided. The dealership only responded in private message by a Gabriel C, they responded with profanity and insults. It's whats expected when you deal with people that have no morals or ethics. After spending $800 in repairing emission lines the car was finally fixed. This solutions was cheaper than taking low life's to court. However, they have been reported and there is an ongoing investigation. This vehicle should not have been sold without passing a proper smog. It goes to show how corrupt they are. Hopefully the B.A.R. comes down on them and their illicit tactics soon. read more

Horrible place. My daughter bought a truck from them. It broke down under 200 miles from the dealership, didn't even last 24 hours. They have stopped answering our calls and will not pay to fix it. They say she declined the service contract, she was never offered a service contract. Tom seems so nice and helpful but he's a phone person. Gus was not helpful at all very condescending person. Before I proceed, let me say that I was fully happy with my truck before all of the following went down. So it's a used car dealership. What's new? There's nothing special about these high mileage vehicles. I happened to find one that was about what I wanted to spend. They did the usual stuff, you know, like make me feel like I was getting one over on them. Then as I was leaving the lot in my "brand used" truck, the owner, Augustin, (whom my dealings with were quite pleasant) shouts out and tells me that although he had purchased new spark plugs for the truck, he will install them next week, as well as hook it up with a tank of gas. Fast from forward a few days and I drop the truck off on Friday morning about 11 to get, what I think, to be a few hours of labor on my truck. 3 rolls around... 4... 5... I call and Mario swears that the truck will be ready in 20 minutes. I show up 40 minutes later, and no truck. After hanging out for another 20 minutes, he tells me that something went wrong with the LAST spark plug and it'll be ready tomorrow. (I would come to find out later that they broke off the spark plug inside) Saturday rolls around. Still no truck. We're busy with my nieces and I figure by the time we drop them off in the late afternoon, it'll be ready. Nope. 6 o clock and although I was calling quite often, Mario swore up and down that it would be ready. Not today chico. Sunday, the Lord's day. SURELY I would be able to drive my truck today. Again, Mario tells me it will be ready today for sure. Although I keep asking, he never is able to tell me what exactly is wrong with my car. And he is starting to ignore my calls and/or send them to voicemail. Well, as you may have guessed, no truck. "EARLY Monday morning" Mario tells me. Well, I sit here at 7:06 pm in my house and you know what? Still no truck. I would like to add that Mario never called me ONCE. I had to hound this dude daily. He never called me to tell me that the car wouldn't be ready. As a matter of fact, I showed up personally twice because I figured he was a man of his word. Nope. I wasted my time, money and gas for what? This place sucks. I just hope to get my truck and never see them again. Oh! And the tank of gas? MARIO forgot to put it. He gave me a 20 and asked me to bring him a receipt! I'm dead serious people. This dude is a joke. He has no place in customer service. When I called him the last time he skipped the formalities and answered with a rude "hello" he talked back to me while I have tried to be calm through this, he asked "do you want me to fix your car, or what?" Shouldn't this have been done beforehand? I was told to get there at 4:30. good because i work down the street from there. When i get there, Mario tells me that we need to drive my truck with MY gas, to Ripon. in rush hour traffic. (Mind you, the DMV closes at 5) We're not gonna make it. We dont. So i have to go there again the next day. The next day i call Mario, as i'm driving there to tell him i'm on my way. He answers and tells me that he's not there. He is in another city. ..... I want to explode. I'm NOT doing this again. At this point i just want to get this done and never see them again. So he asks me to go have it verified, myself. at the dmv. I HATE THE DMV. Ok. i do it. It wasn't pretty, but i think it's all over now. If i could have skipped this dealership, i would have. But the truck is good. So far.... (Update) Another thing, check for a spare tire and/or tire Jack. That set me back another 200 bucks for both. I think they purposely undercharge for the registration to make the price of the truck look good. You have to pay them the difference anyway so they get you to sign the deal and then get even MORE money before you get your registration from them. Boo. read more

We were told that if there were any problems within 30 days of purchase, they would take care of it. A couple weeks after we purchased our SUV, a small part on the AC system broke off. The part could not be replaced by itself. The entire AC system needed to be replaced. Trucks Max had the work done and paid for everything at no cost to us! The job was over $600! So I was looking to buy a car last minute and ran into trucks max USA, I bought a 2008 scion that they claimed they couldn't bring down the price on the car due to all the modifications it had including turbo, but that it runs great and nothing is wrong with it. The same day I drove it out the lot it broke down on me and wouldn't turn back on, I called them the next day and spoke to Jay who claimed he was the owner of trucks max USA, which he isn't, the owners name is Agustin. I called the county clerk to verify. Anyways, jay told me to bring it back so he can fix it, I dropped it off and he sent it to D.C. imports in Manteca who also claimed they fixed everything in the car, but didn't. So I get the car back, drive off and breaks down again. Again jay tells me he can fix it. I then tell him I just want my money back. He said He couldn't do that because the car was sold as is. Which was true but the only problem was that in small print on the contract it stated the contract was only voided for the following reasons and one reason was if the seller pretty much lied about the cars condition in order to benefit his business. With that said, I took not jay, but the owner Agustin to court since they still wouldn't give me my money back. It took about a year but finally in march of this year I finally received full compensation for the vehicle and I returned the vehicle to them. So for those who would like to get your money back after having issues with cars from that business and then saying you're not allowed to do that, I suggest you read your contract and take advantage of the small prints because Jay is known to screw many people over in presenting a cars condition that really he has no idea what he's selling you. Although I have respect for the owner Agustin only because he did follow up with the court and admitted at the court that they were in the wrong and did apologize to me. I recently purchased a car from this lot. Drove down from Lincoln, Ca which is no short trip but they happened to have a car that fit my requirements(good on gas for commuting as well as something with a little bit of umph to make the commute less boring). The interaction from the salesman was fine, wasn't pushy or anything and answered what questions I had. The car needed tires which they took $200 off the price for. The whole buying process went pretty smooth. My troubles and recommendations for people come after the fact of buying the car. 300 miles after buying the car it developed an oil leak so I took it in to my mechanic. After inspecting the car they let me know that the turbo in the car was leaking and needed to be replaced, they quoted me $2200 for an OEM turbo/labor. The car also developed a rattle in the front end either from the struts being worn(which need to be replaced either way) or from the sway bar end links being bad. On top of all this a check engine light came on when leaving from work right after starting the car. My recommendation to anyone looking to purchase from this lot, take the car to a mechanic you know and trust to inspect the car before you sign anything. They will be selling you the car "As-Is" and will make sure to let you know that they have an in house mechanic that does all their inspections to make sure their cars are in "tip top shape". Learn from my mistake, cause I'm scared to see what else is going to unfold with this car. Some times a deal too good to be true is just that. Too good to be true. read more

Recently bought a 2005 F150 4x4 Lariat from Jay and am quite happy with Jay and with the truck and with the deal! I talked with Jay a couple times on the phone while I was shopping... He found a truck matching my requirements and procured it at auction. We discussed a price (which I found to be fair), I drove on over to the lot for a test drive. After our test drive feedback, Jay had a couple minor things fixed on the vehicle over the next week and so we went back a week later and closed the deal. We spent a total of zero minutes price-haggling. This truck is in great condition, runs smooth and is just exactly what I was looking for. This is a nine-year-old truck and so not without flaws: and I expect to find and fix a few minor things (for instance, it had a failing IWE solenoid causing an intermittent grinding noise from the front hubs - I diagnosed and fixed this for under $100), but that is just part of buying a used vehicle. This is why used trucks cost way less than new trucks! Last comment: I actually talked to a number of sellers while hunting for a truck. Just like in any business transaction, you should go with the seller that feels right. I found Jay to be great to work with and a really nice guy at that. Bruce M. read more

Bought a car over six months ago and got a good price car drove good but mechanically started going wrong check engine light, oil light on, clucking sounds, inner corner of the tires were completely bald. If I could give less of a star I would. At first everything seemed great. We thought we were getting a good deal but once we drove it off the lot things all came into view. We bought a 2001 Tahoe and its a nice SUV but when we bought the truck the guy selling it to us said they had to keep it to put brand new Cats on it to pass smog. Instead they kept the truck for two days after cashing our check to them, flashed the smog and almost instantly the check engine light came on. Also the back windshield wiper would not turn off and obviously had a gliche. We called trucks Max right away and they ensured us they would have it fixed. Also the tv in the back kept falling out when the dealer promised to have that fixed when he returned the truck to us. It wasn't done. So Mario, one of the employees, made me set up an appt to come out and have everything fixed and 30min later he's still a no show. I came from Hayward and have a 15mth old son with this unreliable truck that they illegally faked a smog for it to be sold. Disgusted with this place. There was a lot of little things on the car i test drove that could have been fixed that might have sold me to buy it, things like little nobs on the lock part on the door, or little handles to move the automated seat. Not sure how this place is still running! They pretty much stole $2500 cash and left me with no car or a deposit back. The loan with the bank never went through & after I asked the bank for a letter stating that I was not getting approved on my own they said they could not help me. This dealership and some of the banks they work with are a joke and just scam individuals. After trying to work something out with Gabriel & Augustin I got nothing but attitude and yelled at through the phone. They wanted me to come into the office on my own but since I didn't feel like that was safe or a good idea I brought my dad with me and all they kept repeating was I apologize your daughter made a deal and now she has to pay! Deal?! Yet no bank approval. The car that I had left the dealership was brought back after receiving text messages stating to bring the SUV back and Augustin said he had to look at the wear and tear of the suv then he'd return some of my down payment and nope Nothing! The crazy thing is they have a sign on the SUV saying it was repossessed with my name on it! Going to report them and hopefully save anyone from getting scammed by these fools! read more

We found a car online and drove 200 miles to look at this car. The car seemed to be a nice car so we bought it with cash money. They had told us they had put a new stereo in the car but then they could not find the face plate for it. They said they would find it and mail it to us, well they never did. They misled us on a couple other issues as well. After calling numerous times they started being short with us so we decided to go buy a stereo for the car and they sent us a email saying they would reimburse us for the stereo. Never done that either. They were also supposed to pay the registration on the car didn't do that. Then 2 months later we got a registration renewal on the car we traded in. So we called DMV and it took them almost the 2 months to get our old car out of our names. Luckily we had sent a release of liability. This place is not true to their word and misled us on a few things. . We will never, ever buy from them or recommend them to anyone. DO NOT TO BUY A CAR FROM THIS LOT! I purchased a car from them earlier this year for my son. As I drove away the airbag light came on. I return to him and had him check it, the manager assured me it was just a faulty switch. When my mechanic checked it out there were NO AIR BAGS present in the car. They were removed and false panels were put in to make it look like air bags were present. It is a Felony in California to sell a car in this condition. After returning the car, TruckMax would not pay off the loan amount even though the loan company had already paid them in full. We had to get the District Attorney involved to force TruckMax to pay the balance on the loan which took several months. Additionally shortly after i returned the car and filed charges against them, my personal information was used to obtain several credit cards. TruckMax should be closed down and have their license revoked! If you buy a car from them you're dealing with people that have no morals or ethics! Carma for this place...oh it's coming! read more
