I would have preferred to discuss this in person since I really don't like leaving bad reviews and value in person conflict resolution but Tim has not responded to a single attempt to reach him since May, and there have been many, many attempts. We were actually pretty happy working with Tim initially on our whole house renovation a couple years ago (the crew was always so nice and Tim was accommodating) but less than a year in, our vinyl floors started cracking, leaving them sharp to bare feet. I have 3 kids so this is a serious concern. Tim came over and looked and offered to redo them for nothing. Awesome, right?! The problem areas were redone but we immediately noticed some boards popping and knew this meant they could crack again in the future if things weren't perfectly level. We let him know right away. This was now almost a YEAR ago. He's never been back. Now they are broken and cracking in even more places. There's still a concrete mess from them attempting to level the floor. The worst part is the stair trim piece got loose within a week of installation and it's a huge safety and tripping hazard. I have to warn everyone that comes in the house- especially little kids and elderly family members. I finally had a proper flooring company come today to evaluate it since Tim has disappeared off the face of the earth and they were appalled and seemed shocked at the poor work. They confirmed the flooring we chose is a good quality product but the leveling underneath wasn't done properly. I'm a local small business owner and I just can't fathom treating customers like this. Now I'll be paying thousands and thousands of dollars to have all the floors redone. The whole thing is pretty heartbreaking. I would have really liked to work this out with him. I definitely would have preferred not to have to pay a fortune to fix this the right way or to have my floors redone 3 times within 3 years. Hopefully this will help someone else avoid a similar situation with him. *** update: this was never about the flooring or the review. The point is that you said you were going to do something and then ignored my texts for 4 months UNTIL the day I left this review. An hour later you texted me. I guess you hadn't lost my number after all. It played out exactly the way I thought it would. Not shocked at all. I'll update to 3 stars because there were elements of our whole house remodel that were done well. If I need new sub flooring then so be it. Tim and his team are incredible and reliable. They had to travel out of their normal neighborhood of work to LA to do a pretty extensive remodel on my place and did a fantastic job. Even when he wasn't on site, his team was super reliable and knowledgable, answering all of my questions and taking on my suggestions. I was not living in the home while they remodeled and they were great at taking tasteful executive decisions because they understood my vision and did not need to call me for every little thing. I highly recommend TruCor Construction for your next home project. We had a great experience renovating our bathroom from start to finish. Hard working crew on site 6 days a week from 8-5, open communication with crew/project manager (Javier)/GC (Tim), cleaned up at the end of the day. Scope consisted of adding a shower to the tub, large niche, remove stand-alone shower and wall bump out, move toilet/vanity, update electrical. Although I knew how we wanted the new layout, I like that Tim offered suggestions like changing the door direction and asking us how we felt about the toilet being a straight shot from the door. None of the other GC's brought this up when they came to look at the project. The price and timeline were competitive which could not be beat. Our full bathroom reno took about 3 weeks and would have been faster if not for a small hiccup with tile pattern. These things happen and the issue was fixed right away. During construction it's best to communicate/check in often and be as specific as possible if you want something a certain way like tile layout, pattern, etc. It's also helpful to know how you want to use the space and have your materials chosen to make the construction and placement of fixtures flow quickly. We worked with Tim and his team from Trucor construction for our recent home renovation and very satisfied with the experience. They totally transformed our 1950 original kitchen to a modern one rearranging the layout and even built a breakfast nook. They also removed 4 huge fir trees in our backyard, poured concrete and installed turf. Additionally, they created a custom closet space and converted the existing closet space to an office. The whole project took appx. 4 weeks even with the last minute changes we asked. We LOVE our new kitchen! Several contractors quoted the job and we chose Trucor for the price, reviews and honesty of the owner. I appreciated that when we initially met with Tim, he said he would let us know if we were picking things that would price our kitchen out of the neighborhood. While we could certainly pick whatever we wanted - it's our home after all, that communicated to me that he wouldn't just be a "yes" man. I appreciated the honesty, because we were planning the layout on our own and there's a lot we don't know about pinterest versus the real world. We opted to refresh our existing 1950's kitchen cabinets (sand/fix, paint), replace and custom cut our countertops, hang wainscoting paneling, and redo the flooring in our kitchen and bath. It turned out amazing. It's like a brand new kitchen. Tim communicated every step of the way and his lead Jose, made sure I knew what they would be working on and when, since my husband and I work from home. Tim and everyone at Trucor delivered and came in under budget! Our project consisted of two bathroom remodels and a fresh coat of paint on the house exterior. The reality is that Tim was involved every step of the way, guiding us through what we needed and how he and his crew were going to take care of it. These guys simply got it done. They worked with us on which hours were ok to come and work, as we had a child at home doing school and demo and construction might get in the way. They came early, stayed late, and by the end, we had two brand new bathrooms. I think this one anecdote is all you need to know: Tim, while purchasing and then inspecting delivered bathtubs, twice found cracks in the tub. He took the tub back twice, at no charge, to make sure we had what we needed. He and his team are thorough, competent, and can work around anything they come across, to make sure you have the bathroom or any room you want to create.
