With so many needlework shops closed finding this shop was fabulous. There is everything a cross stitcher needs to complete any size project. I drive there from Poulsbo just to soak up the atmosphere and see what is new! I love this shop. read more

A hidden treasure trove for needlework and embroidery enthusiasts! This locally owned store has been operating for over 37 years and is easy to miss. When you first arrive, the building and its modest signage is a bit underwhelming and looks misleadingly small. Don't judge a book by its cover - just step inside and you'll have your socks blown clean off by the truly MASSIVE selection of thread, projects, fabrics and more- SO MUCH MORE!!! My partner, an embroiderer, got no more than two feet into the store before losing themself in a shelf of books haha. The store offers an astonishingly versatile range of high quality product at reasonable prices : DMC, Gloriana, Waterlilies, Milk & Ivory, the Bee Company, Rainbow Gallery, Japanese threads and needles, and more. The owner is kinda like her store "in a good way " haha! She doesn't cut corners, and contains a literal library of information. AND By that I mean she seems to thrive on experimenting with the latest tools and attends A LOT of continuing education via the National Academy of Needle Art and the Embroiderers Guild of America. Talking with her was a boon of information and she was glad to answer our questions. She is clearly someone who is passionate about her craft and the community around it. Her curiosity and passion for needle art drives the stock of the store and just about everything we found in the place has been worth trying out and a good value. % It was worth the drive and some. Such a quaint shop, goodies galore!! Many variety of embroidery floss from your corporate DMC to locally made and dyed. Also many wood contraptions to make needlework more convenient. I am a beginner at cross stitching and needed guidance on what projects would be easier for someone without much experience. When I visited this shop I was quickly greeted and asked if I needed any help. I let the woman who was running the shop know that I didn't know a whole lot about cross stitching but I really wanted to start learning. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. She showed me what to look for in finding easier patterns and showed me how to find what I needed, for both materials and good instructions. The shop is cozy, which can make navigation a little difficult if you're on the clumsy side. The selection of patterns seemed pretty broad, and I saw plenty to come back for when I'm more practiced. There seems to be a good selection of nice quality supplies. I am really enjoying my purchases and will be excited to come back. read more

Let me start by saying not only is the owner of this store simply AMAZING but the store itself absolutely packed with goodies. So much fabric, so many pattern. All the floss you can imagine. If you love Amira's/Nora's I definitely think you have to make the trip out. I don't stitch fancy ladies as I call them but she has SO much option that there is more than enough for me to choose from. I will say I do think the store could be brighter, it's a bit dark between isles of items. Love this place. read more

This is a fantastic little store! It's very hard to find stores that cater to Crosstitch and needlepoint. They have a wide variety of different types of threads, in many different colors. And most of the needles/scissors/Bobbins I would need. They also have a fantastic selections of frames and stands you can use. I do extremely large tapestries that require an abnormally large scroll frame to hold the piece. She had the perfect fabric for me, and even helped me cut it to size! When I inquired about a very specific light/magnifier that I was looking for; The owner looked on her computer and found the perfect match to what I needed. She didn't carry it in the store but ordered it for me right away. Several weeks later she even called me to inform me that it was in. Outstanding service. The proprietess was extraordinary. Her knowledge and experience were awe inspiring. We have all bookmarked her site as we may not return in the flesh, but we will all be returning! Thanks for making our "cross stitch store stop" so pleasurable. The selection of cross stitch runs from Prarie Schooler to kits of cityscapes so fine and beautiful they are stitched on silk. Threadneedle Street has the biggest selection of hand-painted needlepoint canvases I've ever seen. Their thread selection is also quite extensive, with the usual DMC of course, but also some lovely hand-dyed fibers. There's a huge selection of tiny tiny beads to embellish as well as buttons and other specialty bits. They are the only source for a french needle that I really like. It's a small shop, with a very small sign, in a rather drab grey wood sided building on Issaquah's Front street, the old downtown. It took me two tries to find it. There's a tasty, friendly bakery just a door down; well worth stopping in for a cinnamon roll or quick bread (the sweet potato quick bread was just out of the oven when I stopped in--so good!). read more

At a time when many needlepoint and cross-stitch stores are going under, it is fortunate to have this great store as a resource. I formerly lived in Washington state and gladly traveled the 100 miles round-trip to visit this store and its wonderful owner. I have since returned to the Central Coast of California and still feel that Threadneedle Street is my best option for needlepoint canvases and threads. I've been coming to Threadneedle for probably the past year after discovering my love of cross stitch. Sure, it's not Michael's or Joann's where they have coupons for everything BUT Threadneedle has all of the hard to find items that I need when I need them in a hurry. The owner is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and patient. I'm always the pain-in-the-butt customer who asks for 16ct Aida when the pattern I have calls for linen. But the owner always pulls down her stacks of fabric and helps me match up the best options. I just wish they had a Facebook page so i could find out about new products, sales, etc. read more

I prefer seeing threads in person over buying online, so, I drove 40 minutes to Issaquah... I was not greeted when I entered the shop, not asked if I needed help finding anything. I didn't care for the shop owner's snooty tone- I needed to special order 7 skeins of floss for my project. Her response? "I usually order those in 6's, do you really want 7?" Yes I did still make this purchase just so it wouldn't be a wasted trip. On the upside product selection is decent; good variety of flosses, charts & fabric. Since my experience I have done my LNS business with The Needlepointer in Everett and the occasional weekend trip to Acorns & Threads in Portland- both of these shops have much better customer service. read more

Very helpful lady there, though, advanced warning, the store IS a little close quarters, and me being a big guy (6'1" and not skinny), felt a little like a bull in a china shop :) But she helped me with odd questions I had and provided some direction for my project. I plan on going out of my way to keep throwing her my business when I have it. read more

This store has a great selection of fabrics, threads, needles, anything you could need to start or finish a project. I never go in without seeing a new design I want to stitch, and normally end up with more than I was looking for. Everyone I've met there has been very nice and helpful, and are very knowledgeable about the products they carry. The biggest thing for me though is that I've never gone there and found that the color I desperately need in out of stock. Very glad to have this store so near by! read more

Cross-stitch specific shops are just about as rare as it gets. This is a peaceful haven for those of us looking for very specific thread, beads or fabric. Their pattern selection isn't huge but they have some really neat PNW specific stuff and it's so convenient to be able to pick up everything in one place. Prices are right in line with the norm - sometimes you pay a premium at small specialty shops but not here. Proprietor is fantastic and knows where everything in the shop is - no rooting around trying to see if the 517 got mixed up with the 518! read more

I'm so glad this store exists -- and it is the only one around that carries the needlepoint yarn I need. Customer service is superb and a great selection of yarn colors, including some that have been discontinued by the manufacturer. When (as I do frequently) you want to substitute colors in a kit, the shop owner does a great job if you ask for help choosing new ones. read more

Had the worst experience EVER at this store! Rude, smelly, and who takes a lunch break at 12:30 in the afternoon and closes the shop?? If i had arrived just 5 minutes later the closed sign would of been up and i would of driven 30 minutes out of my way to a store that was closed during open business hours. I had heard great things about this store and it was very disappointing. Some tips to help there business...even the slightest bit of customer service would of made me feel more welcome than i did. They could get a couple air fresheners and a more polite staff. read more

I finally found the needlework store I've been looking for! They have a wonderful selection of threads, beads, buttons, fabrics, and patterns. The owner had gone to the back for a few minutes, and being the only one in the store it was closed for ~5 mins until she returned and opened up. A mild inconvenience, but understandable being the only one manning the shop. I was left to my own devices to peruse the store, and felt comfortable being able to poke around and ponder. I only interacted with the owner upon checking out, but she was friendly, and kindly answered my questions about fabric. The prices were quite good, competitive with some online choices. On the plus side: the staff is nice, and there is a huge selection of floss. On the minus: I can go years between visits, and the inventory of patterns and kits barely changes. It also tends towards the traditional, which is fine, but there we a lot of modern needlework patterns out there, and I wish they'd branch out. Still, it's not like there are a ton of stitching stores out there, and it's much better than big-box selections. read more

My Mom and I have had a very poor experience at this shop...not one time, but several. My Mom is an avid needlepointer and has money to spend on canvas and supplies. She purchased a canvas, two days later she decided she wanted something different. Even tho she is a repeat customer, usually dropping$200 a visit, the owner was SNARKY, RUDE and did not exchange or refund. They have lost a customer and we will tell everyone who will listen not to bother spending your money at this shop. We live in Carnation and would rather drive to Bellingham or Seattle or anywhere else. read more
