My wife was gifted a gift certificate to True Color Nail and Spa. Between being pregnant and giving birth to our child, she hadn't had the opportunity to use it until now. Yesterday, she finally went in for a manicure and pedicure for Mother's Day, only to be told at checkout that they would not honor the gift certificate because it was "expired." This was not a promotional voucher or some free reward. It was a first-party gift certificate that someone paid real money for. Since when does the money someone paid to a business "expire"? Keeping the money while refusing the service is nothing short of theft. Absolutely terrible business practice and an awful way to treat customers, especially a mother trying to enjoy a rare day for herself. Avoid at all costs. read more

Horrrible. I think it was Ava! Be ware ! She was cutting the skin around my nail and cut all my skin. My thumb was bleeding so bad she tried to hold a napkin down on it but it kept bleeding. I told the guy up front she cut me and he only offered to have someone else complete my nails. This is after I already sat and waited 35 min in between my pedi before someone was available for my hands. I had to go to an event immediately after so I let them finish. I have overgrown cuticles & they usually do a good job at refining them. I also realize that the more regularly I get manicured the more refined my nails become. Ask for a discount card which will give you a discount after 5 services. Today was my first time going to this nail salon and I had an amazing experience. I waited less than 5 minutes before getting taken back since they had like 20 people on staff. These are probably my favorite nails of all time, just look at them!! Anytime i go to a new place they can never correctly do the designs i ask for, Summer did my nails, and she did not disappoint! A technician at this nail salon really cut up my finger today with a cuticle nipper. Obviously it's not uncommon to get cut but he took a whole chunk out of my finger. He just ignored the bleeding until I asked if I could wash my hands. It bled through the whole manicure and for a few hours after. It's almost 12 hours later and it still really really hurts. I went in on a Saturday and it was super busy, as was to be expected. I ended up getting my nails done at an unsteady, rickety fold up table they pulled out because there weren't enough seats at the counter. I would have much rather waited a few minutes longer. Even though they say the accept credit cards with a $10 minimum, I watched them bully a woman who tried to pay with a card into taking money out of their atm. The technician also didn't know what squoval meant, or squared oval when I clarified, which I thought was strange. Overall the absolute worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. read more

So this is a mixed review. Overall I really like this place. Everyone is nice and professional. They give quick back massage as apart of their manicure. I love a good massage. I wish their equipment came right out of the sterilization packages but I've only ever seen them clean stuff with alcohol. I try to go first thing in the morning so I'm the first one to use said material but who knows. They do however use the plastic in the pedicure baths, which I like. I've been to this place twice. The first time I had an amazing experience. I was referred here by a coworker who suggest I let May do my nails. I arrived for my appointment and was immediately started. Everything was GREAT! I have zero complaints. I got a dip powder manicure and gel pedicure. My nails lasted for at least 3 weeks without chipping of any sort. So, I was excited to come again. However, this experience was slightly different. I was sad to learn that May no longer worked there and I would have to see someone else. I was also told Summer did nice nails so I booked with her. I was started as soon as walked in and Sue did my pedicure. At the end of the day the pedicure was ok and ended up looking nice. There were just a few things I didn't like. Sue appeared to be very distracted. She kept looking over her shoulder and watching was everyone else was doing. Every other tech seemed to be focused on their client but she appeared to be all over the place. She spent zero time clipping my cuticles. She filed, scrubbed, and rushed to paint. She started to paint my nails and then tried to go back and clip a few. Then after 3 toes she stopped. They did however look neat when she was finished. The best thing about then pedicure was the massage. After my pedicure, Summer (my nail tech), still wasn't finished her previous client. Come to find out that client was going to get a polish change with another tech but that tech was busy so Summer did it instead. I waited for about 15 mins. When it was time for me she apologized for the wait. Over all my nails were done nice. However, she was not as neat as May. I had left over nail powder residue on my hands. I did not have any of this before. Hopefully they last as long as they did the last time. I will def go back and hopefully not have these problems again. read more

I come here because I love the nail tech that does my nails!! ... but!! Every time I come here she's always busy or has multiple customers.. ( I try to come when they first open or in the middle of the day ) I try to wait but they're always trying to throw me off to someone else to do my nails and every time that they do they never do my nails right ! So if that's what's going to happen every time I come here I might as well go somewhere else ! and that's what I'm going to do ! There are reasons why people go back to nail salons and it's because they want a specific person to do their nails ! If it were left to the nail technician I'd have given a higher rating because she was good. I am, however, furious that they refused to honor my gift certificate because it was more than a year old. I have never had a business do this to me. I tried to reason that we had the pandemic when they were closed completely and also they have greatly reduced their hours since the pandemic, so it was impossible for me to come after work because that would be too late. (same girl every time)! She proceeds to take a bright fuschia pink to make the line ! I STOPPED her! I had a meeting at noon and could not wait for her to take off the bright pink & put a white line! It was my first time and I had a very nice experience at this salon. I was taken immediately on a busy Sunday and service was great. I had the crystal pedicure, which cost a little more, but was worth it! I received a long massage on my feet/legs and they also massaged my back while my toes were drying. This nail salon is by far the best salon I have been to. All the nail tech are super nice and they know what they're doing. My nails have always been done so perfectly. I never saw anything wrong with my them ever! This salon is always busy. On Fridays and weekends the wait is pretty long. That's why I prefer to go on Mon-Wednesday. The prices are affordable. I got my dip powder for $30 and to add tips it's extra $5. I would recommend this salon to anyone! read more

I have been coming here for years and always loved this salon. I have referred friends and strangers who have admired my nails. The salon has a 2 week nail fix policy. The problem with that policy is they find anyway not to honor it. I have twice now been told that one broke my nail (the most recent broke while getting dressed) so they are not responsible. I don't think this would bother me so much if I didn't spend 110 every visit to the salon and my nail brake within days of my visit. Just feels like a money grab and they don't value their customers nor do they adhere to their own policy. I'm going to be looking for a new salon. Im not looking forward to it since I have found great nail techs there but I am sure I can find someone who can do my nails somewhere else. read more

This was pre covid (December) but was looking through nail pictures and noticed. I asked for red with a simple line design plus a snowflake. The place was packed as usual and they ended up just setting up a diy table and chair not even a real seat to do me and my sisters nails which already annoyed me, but whatever I just wanted my nails done. Then she cuts me while doing my cuticles to the point where it would not stop bleeding. Usually I'm okay with blood but something set me off and I got extremely dizzy. She put a wet paper towel on it then continued. I insisted that she stopped but she kept just saying "it's okay." I almost fainted and had to get walked to the bathroom they got me water and a mint I was fine after that and continued the set. As for the set itself I'm gonna be honest it wasn't good and I understand if she was new but she shouldn't of did my nails if that was the case. She took off the design atleast 6 times before finally leaving it and if you zoom you can easily see the lines are uneven and the snow flakes just aren't good. The shape was not what I asked for and the nail sizes on each hand were different. I also got charged full price which upset me considering she cut a whole chunk out of my one finger to the point I almost passed out, clearly new she was unable to do what I asked, and had me in a diy station in the back near the nail dryers . So this place has the feel of an assembly line, which is pretty much the opposite of relaxing. There was no music, no ambiance, just a bunch of nail technicians working in a long row at a furious pace. The lady that did my pedicure did a good job, however the technician my friend had was way too rough. She was moving at breakneck speed and another customer after my friend had to tell her repeatedly to slow down. I felt the manicure was way too quick, and as a result my nails were haphazardly filed. I have a lot of weird angles going on right now. The lady that waxed my eyebrows decided to tell me after she breathed in my face that she had a cold, so I didn't appreciate that. The pedicure was the best part, as we opted for the jelly pedicure for $33. The lady that did my pedi did a good job but unfortunately it was chipped the next day. I came here on a whim because it's super close to my house and a friend recommended there pedicures. Holyyyyyyy wow.. Eva gave me a *roughly* 40 minute pedicure and it was heaven. I've never had a better pedicure from anywhere! And to top it all off they include hot stones for your legs and feet as well. All for $20! I'll never go anywhere ever again for a pedicure. Also all of the staff is super friendly and always on the look out to clean, help a customer, give a massage, etc. I've been to so many nail salons where there are countless workers just sitting at stations on their phone. Popped in for a quick pedi after work. The Google reviews are much better than the ones here on Yelp! so I took a chance. I called and made an appointment. When I got there I was served right away which is nice. It was very busy and some places make the appointment for you but then you still have to wait... My pedi was amazing actually. Lisa took care of me and gave me an excellent massage. I damn near fell asleep in the chair! They also use the tub condoms so that's a huge plus for me lol! I just may stop back there to try their dip powder next week (keep you all posted)... the only "con" was the fact that they only have one drying station that seats about 4 people. This place got way too big for what they can handle. Almost everyone in the neighborhood goes here, and it is never a relaxing time to get your nails done. From the second you walk in they rush you to pick a color, and the colors never turn out how they look on the samples. Then you're lucky if you get a good person to do your nails but most of the time you end up with someone who either rushes to do them or they end up breaking the next day. They tell you no wait, sit you in a chair, and then you end up waiting 30 minutes. If you get a pedicure then get your nails done you'll be there for 2 hours. I came here for the first time yesterday. I got the crystal pedicure & a refill. The crystal pedicure was amazing!! The 15min massages was amazing & she really scraped/cleaned my heel so the bottom of my feet came out so soft!!! 5 stars for Tina....Now the refill is a different story. I have a week old nails & I don't want to drive a hour to my regular nail place to get a refill & true color is convenient for me. At first she asked me what color I want & I wanted a nude color that basically like my skin color. I couldn't find one that comes close. The selection wasn't catered to the flesh tan nude (neither the nudes had glitter in it or it was to pale) & the workers keep showing me colors that are greyish or pinkish...im just looking at them thinking, "do I look grey or pink?!" but I just decided to get white with 4 fingers that are glittered with the sugar glitter. I have long coffin nails & she filed my thumb into some odd shape. You can clearly tell that she was rushing & she didn't bothered to add more acrylic to the end of the nails to make everything look even. My total was $69 for everything. I live close to the area and sometimes come here when I'm in a emergency for my nails. Pedicures : They will always try to convince you to do a spa! There are many male technicians who does your pedi. They are no good with filing or trimming your cuticles and also not fluent with English which is result in a big misunderstanding when you are telling them what it is that you want to be done. Let's just say my toes were uneven polish was either on the skin or missing in the corners. Very disappointed. Manicures : I do not stay in one salon. I get them done wherever I'm most closest to at the time. They always bash at my nails when they see other people work. I find that unprofessional. They also very talkative to one another but their client. Which is also very rude. My manicure at the end is nice but the experience I have to endure was not pleasant. My daughter also had her nails polish (she's 4) and they charge you $7. They did not cut her nails or file them at all. They also did not apply base coat which immediately came off 1 hour later. They still take your temperature, make you wear a mask, put a plastic shield in between you , make you use hand sanitizer, make you stand outside in line, and the man at the door is soo rude.. every time i am there he gives dirty looks and rolls his eyes. I'm surprised this place doesn't have a better overall rating! I've gone to True Colors several times and I've never had a bad experience. They are polite, never make me feel rushed, and do a beautiful job on my nails. I recently started getting dip powder on my nails and it lasted a month without cracking or lifting. The removal was great, no scraping. Just got my second application of dip powder and looks just as amazing. I was a nail biter for 20 years and I trust them with my flimsy nails. I have been going to this place for approx 4 yrs as it is close to my work. Pedi massages is what I truly go for. I drove 30 minutes from my house for a pedicure. They close at 730pm, I got there 645pm. The owner walked out to turn me away, because they decided to close early. I even offered to pay for a gel pedi but he said were just gonna close earlier. Wow, who does that to a paying customer in this day and age. No regard. No tact. No loyalty. That is how you lose a good customer.
