I've never had a problem reaching him with any questions or concerns. I've always found him to be courteous and professional. Dr. Sherer did my gastric sleeve surgery (2017) and I could not be more pleased with how it progressed, from the initial consultation to the final follow-up appt. He did such a great job on the surgery that I didn't even have to stay in the hospital overnight! My recovery was quick and without complications. I can't imagine using any other surgical group!

At the main entrance there was a very friendly/ helpful gentleman who made sure I knew where I was going. I'm glad that he did because I always find a way to get lost in hospitals. By it being the weekend during visit, , it was a ghost town. However, all the staff I encountered were very helpful. This was my first time at this hospital. My name is Elizabeth Johnson…read more I was admitted with the assistance of my neighbor who was kind enough to drive me to the hospital when I was pregnant and throwing up so hard I couldn't see correctly to put a face together. I was admitted and promptly told I "came to the wrong hospital" because I was a pregnant woman. They no longer have a comprehensive women's care center. I was hooked up to an IV and administered fluids. I was promptly un-hooked from IV bags and given 2 CT scans where they couldn't find anything abnormal according to what they verbally told me. They made arrangements for a transport to the hospital where I am supposed to give birth. I waited roughly 8 hours, crying, without any fluids hooked up to my IV or the ability to get food or water. The site where I was given the IV began to ache and throb. I asked initially to have the IV simply replaced and was denied. I asked if I could have it removed and was also denied. I did not want to remove the IV myself and risk injury. My fiancé showed up and offered to drive me himself to the new hospital. The charge nurse, Dana Steele, told me they could remove the IV, but it would result in an immediate discharge. We agreed to this as we were going to then drive to the other hospital. She had another nurse come over and tell me that, "Any time you go to the hospital- you get an IV in the case that you suffer a stroke, etc." Exhausted and in pain, I reiterated that I understood. This new nurse continued to speak over me and get pretty aggressive. I simply reiterated that, "Yes, that's why you are a nurse. You went to medical school and understood all of this." Dana started snapping her fingers at me and pointed towards the door- telling us to leave and wouldn't be formally discharged. I am a server. I often have to accommodate customers who yell and cause a scene at me because of arbitrary things like how cooked a steak is technically or the amount of time it takes to cook something. I was not that lady to these people. I did not raise my voice, and I did not curse at anyone. I was a pregnant lady who was dehydrated, hungry, scared, and in pain. I later received a bill that states that I am not the only patient on my account. The patients also apparently included someone named "Sibbes Johnson," (I have no idea who this is) and I can see an address that is not mine listed at 1437 Linda Vista Lane, Vestavia, AL 35226 and a phone number that is not mine. (601) 882-3722 is out of Mississippi and does not connect to a person. I live in Alabaster- recently moved from the 280/Inverness area. The only correct information on my billing portal is my email address and name.

my rheumatolotgist referred me to dr corvoder to see him concerning some hip and back pain. i have…read moreosteoarthosis and early stage osteoporosis.  i used to be a patient of dr nichols at andrews sports ortho center , dr nichols did lower back surgery two cervical fusions and also repaired my broken ankle as well, he was kind caring and an amazing dr so i agreed to be referred to dr cordover even though i didnt know him only due to the fact it was the same center i had previous treatment and care at. i received a call this morning informing me that dr cordover would not see me due to me exceeding his bmi cut off. i honestly though i had misheard the lady, but no i heard right a physician refused to see me because my bmi exceeds his cut off. i am not morbidly obese i am about 45 lbs over weight and currently losing that weight, i would like to point out that i had back surgery weighing more than i do now recovered and rehabed at home by myself and even though i was told i would never run again i ran in a 5k  a few years later(thank you dr nichols) its  a shame in this day and age that a dr who took an oath to do no harm will blantanly refuse to see a patient sight unseen because of a number on a piece of paper. its dr's like this who cause more harm than they do good.

I was not informed ahead of time that additional procedures would be performed, and I later learned from another doctor that I had also undergone sinus surgery, which I do not recall consenting to. Post-surgery, I was rushed out of the facility while still heavily sedated and struggled to dress or stand without my mother's help. In the days following surgery, I experienced significant nausea and vomiting blood. When we contacted the office, my concerns were dismissed and I was told to wait another day. I was reassured that complications with my uvula healing were normal and would resolve, but they did not. I also experienced repeated ear infections afterward. There were additional moments during my visits that made me uncomfortable, including an invasion of privacy while I was changing. I was also offered crackers after surgery. Thankfully, I did not attempt to eat them, and when my mother questioned whether that was appropriate, the nurse promptly removed them. On each visit, the service felt abrupt and unwelcoming, and I waited roughly two hours or more to be seen. This caused me to miss the remainder of my workday. Overall, I did not feel informed, listened to, or cared for during a very vulnerable time. I strongly recommend asking detailed questions, bringing an advocate with you, and ensuring you fully understand what procedures are planned before surgery.

After researching a few places I decided to call and make an appointment with Dr. Cotter. Upon walking in I was greeted by 3 ladies at the front desk. They got me checked in quickly and shortly after I was taken into the exam room. Dr. Cotter was very informative and talked through every step of what he was doing. He shared some great stories also.
