The Define classes with Lauren are a standout--she brings such great energy and knows how to push you while keeping the workout fun and motivating. If you're looking for technique-focused strength training, Jackie's Classic Barre classes are equally amazing. They're challenging in the best way and really help you refine your form. What sets this studio apart is that the instructors actually correct your form and guide you safely through every movement. Too many fitness places just let you go through the motions, but here, you're supported and coached to do things properly--so you stay injury-free and see better results. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a supportive, effective barre workout in Rochester! The community at PBR is the best. You'll leave not only feeling stronger but with a community of strong women by your side.

You're lifting and pulsing your body in ways that you never have before. It was truly difficult for me to hold up. This is a nice boutique studio that looks like a dance room. There are mirrors so you can see if you're balancing right. There are bars on the wall kind of like ballet class. We did warm up exercises for about 10 minutes then got right into class which lasts about 40 minutes. My instructor Rachael gave me the run down of how class flows. You come in and take your shoes off at the door. I advised you to wear flips flops because you're required to wear grip socks to class. They have some to purchase along with other merchandise as well. There are lockers to put your belongings, then you grab the tools you'll need for class. You definitely want to use light weights if this is your 1st barre class. I used the 2 and 3 pounds weights which I've never done in my life but that was good enough for me. I like the warm up and the cool down period. This class made me sweat and cry because what do you mean hold my leg out then pulse for 10 seconds?? ‍‍ Good Lord, this was some work!!! But I'll gladly come back.
