I love doing Bikram, despite how difficult it may be at times. But, since moving back to Detroit, there's only so many studios who offer such classes. When I saw this one was opening near my home, I literally did jumping jacks. I purchased a 2 week unlimited new student package for $25. Yay! They do have a nice range of classes, from 6 am until 7 pm during the week, with classes on the weekends as well. I'm familiar with quite a few of the instructors here as they also have taught at another studio I have practiced at in Troy. The studio itself is nice, new, bright and spacious. Walking in, the lobby has several products to choose from. Mats, towels, water, clothes, etc. There's plenty of benches to put your stuff down on, along with cubbies to hold your stuff for while your in class. The bathrooms are spacious, with at least 5 showers available. There's more cubbies in there as well, along with benches as well. In regards to the studio itself, it's spacey with mirrors to the front and the left. But, here's where I get fussy. The floor itself is hard, so when I'm doing the floor excercises, I can feel the hard floor catch up to me at certain points during the practice, even with a yoga mat. Is it unbearable? NO. BUT, I have done enough yoga to know what I look for in the floor, and I can feel it when I'm face down and the top of my feet are hurting from the hard floors when I push up for some of the lotus poses. The benefits? Studio is nice and large, allowing for plenty of space between you and the other classmates. Instructors are awesome, talking you through the entire class, encouraging you to keep up and do better. I don't know if this studio has a webpage yet, but they have a great Facebook presence, with a quick response time through that. Make sure to check in on Facebook and Yelp when here, because the owners will most likely comment on your Facebook check in, which I loved. You can also rent mats here for $2, buy water, talk to the instructor beforehand and really have a positive experience all the way around. I will be back in the future, I promise!

This place is the bomb diggity! Super happy I found this gem of a "hot" yoga studio. Tara & Jeff are amazing instructions! Super friendly and easy going. They truly make you feel like your at home when you walk into this studio. I love their variety of different classes. They offer the OG 90 min class but also offer a 75/60 min version. They have Fusion classes which is a mixture of a vinyasa flow and bikram poses. Totally kicks your butt in a good way ;-). I LOVE how they explain each posture and that they always go into the more advance positions of that posture. The studio is SUPER clean! They offer locker rooms with **CLEAN** showers and also have all organic and natural soap in the showers. I could go on and on but you will for sure need to experience the PURE BLISS of practicing yoga at this amazing studio for yourself. So what are you waiting for?!?! Oh I almost forgot to mention that they offer a free 60 mins class on Saturdays.. Peace - Love - Yoga ..Namaste..

The website has great functionality and was very easy to gather information from and to schedule a class. When I arrived the person at the front desk must have gathered I was a new student, greeted me by name and helped direct me and introduced me to the instructor. The instructor was very kind, making note of my limitations and gently helping me understand things I was doing wrong, giving instructions directly and indirectly. I actually surprised myself being able to do things I didn't expect I was capable of. You don't have to be able to everything perfectly, just what is comfortable. It was also more meditative than I expected which I really enjoyed. After the class some very nice classmates were very complimentary and welcoming. I am sure I will get more out of these classes as I become more familiar with yoga. And I definitely will be continuing. I did a pretty wide internet search from rec center to other schools in the area and am glad I settled on this one. It was exactly what I was looking for.

They have tons of different classes here and the owner Brian is super nice. The locations very relaxing when you first walk in and smells fabulous. They have a lobby area where you can buy different items and some clothing, and it's really spacious here. The class I did was about a hour and a half long and really helped me feel better. Even though I prefer heated courses, Brian did a fabulous job of getting us where we needed to go. I will return in the future for other events as the studio really is fabulous.

As someone with chronic back pain, I have tried numerous interventions, but none have been as effective as regular yoga. The heat and the variety of classes here make it effective on any given day. My Summer Haven!!!!…read more I found Yoga Planet Studio on Groupon and I tried the Unlimited Yoga for a month like Lauren S. A month has passed since I used the Groupon and I still find myself coming back for more. I also managed to buy a 3 months Unlimited Yoga Pack for $199 ($100 Off Summer Special). I am currently addicted to the YinShape Hot Vinyasa Class, a class in a very hot room (around 85-90 F) and the place gets hotter as the class gets bigger. I usually create a puddle of sweat around so I always bring a yoga mat towel on top of my yoga mat to avoid slipping. Face towels are also provided in the studio. Another favorite class of mine is the Slow Flow Candlelight. Everyone should try this. The class is so serene and soothing with candles spread all over the bamboo floor. How relaxing is that??? Giuliana is my favorite instructor so far. She teaches most of my classes. She sets the ambience for the practice and motivates you to breathe (to achieve Victoria's Breath aka ujjayi breathing aka oceanic breath) throughout the practice. Giuliana also encourages you to create a modified pose when the yoga pose is far too advanced. She's very helpful in guiding you with the poses, especially for beginners. Jackie also does a great job teaching. She has a very calm personality that draws you in thus creating a very tranquil mood. The studio is very eco-friendly. From the cool bamboo wood floors to the zero VOC paint on the wall, the whole place is environmentally and socially responsible. The studio is also equipped with 2 restrooms/changing rooms. The first class is free for the new students and mats can be rented for a dollar a month. I recommended the studio to everyone!!!! =p Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu. Namaste!

I have really enjoyed the classes, the atmosphere and, most importantly, the instructors. I have had Giuliana for the majority of my classes, and she does a wonderful job at providing instruction on how to easily flow into the postures and creates a wonderful mood and focus during the classes. I've also had Jackie for a Hot Vinyasa class (she kicked my ass during that class, but in a really good way) and Lindsay for the Ashtanga Elements class. Another great feature about the studio is that everything is made with recycled, chemical-free and toxic-free materials. The studio offers a pretty wide variety of classes at convenient times throughout the day and evening. Also, if you attend a class and find some of the postures difficult, the instructors always offer different, easier options so you can keep with the flow of the class. I've only been practicing here for a few weeks, but the studio has already offered two great discounts on packages. If you're interested in trying yoga for the first time or simply want to try a new studio, keep an eye on the company's website - it posts when discounts and specials are available.
