I thought true Indian hair had a reputable reputation until I unknowingly purchased the worst wig I've ever had!! On April 14th I went into TIH in Manhattan excited to buy a full lace wig. I've been wearing high quality hair for 15 plus years but have never done a full lace wig. I went into the store and they had a 26 inch full lace wavy unit that I purchased for 1000 plus dollars. In the store the hair seemed good and I liked how flat the unit layed on the head so I thought I was making a good investment. In June I made an appointment to finally have the unit customized by having the knot's bleached and the hairline done. When I left the salon everything seemed fine. Fast forward to two weeks later and I noticed that there were small holes popping up on the lace in the front and the back. I was very upset as clearly this shouldn't be happening! I immediately called the store in Manhattan and spoke with the manager. I explained to her what was happening and she seemed less than interested in what I was saying. I told her I had pictures and video and she dismissively told me to send them but essentially said there's nothing that would be done. Fast forward to June 26. I am on my way to vacation and that is when the true nature of how horrible this hair is really starts to reveal itself!!! While I am on holiday this hair begins to become extremely dry and tangled , similar to beauty supply shop hair!! I can barely brush through it and when I do my brush and floor is full of hair!! It sheds, it's tangles and crawls up my back like something straight from the beauty supply store. This is honestly the worst hair I've had in my adult years! It's obvious this isn't single donor Indian hair it is absolutely horrendous!! I will be taken this further as I feel robbed of 1000 dollars! I am absolutely disgusted with this company and the quality of their merchandise. It is clear they don't take quality control seriously or their clientele. I have purchased from this locations a few times in the past. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. The hair products offered for sale are always high quality. The quality and high demand of this hair is definitely evident when u visit. On more than one occasion they had a short supply on hand and because of this I now call ahead to confirm what is available. The receptionist has always been helpful in assisting me with my purchase over the phone or in person. By far the worst company I've ever dealt with... where should. I start. I ordered hair on Black Friday 2019 they advertise they carry 613 but once I received it 3 weeks later it wasn't 613. I sent it back only to wait another month for them to send me 3 bundles of 613 and 1 27. It's January 2020 and they still haven't taken care of me. I have mismatch bundles, they keep making me send stuff back to them pay my money then reimburse me. The lady Nicole is sweet but this place isn't worth it if your not a celebrity it's literally been 3 months and I still haven't been able to get install now they are jus being rude after I waited all this time. I have nothing but great things to say about the hair. I am a first time user I bought the True texture hair ( straight) and love it. no tangling, I have washed it in two different kinds of shampoo and conditioner and the product comes out soft and manageable and I washed it myself. I agree when you first receive it, it may seem a little dull and not as soft as as one may be use to but after the pre wash and install with styling it was beautiful and stayed that way. Make sure you wash regularly once a week as it can get a little bogged down if you use too much product. Very good read more

I bought this hair online during a Black Friday sale in 2020. Because of COVID, I had to wait to get my wig made. I had no choice. I got it made and installed in April of 2021. It tangled BAD. I reached out to them. They told me to send them a video, and their response to me was "it looks dry". They then sent me a "care package" which included conditioner, shampoo, and a spray detangler. I washed the wig with their products and had it installed last week. Guess what, it still tangles!!! There is no purpose in buying curly hair if you have to constantly brush out the curls because of tangling issues. Listen to the reviews, a lot of people got bad hair when they purchased hair during their black Friday sales. They must sell bad hair making you think it is their good hair during the Black Friday time. If you look at the yelp reviews at all of their locations, the hair that ended up being bad was purchased during Black Friday or different holiday sales. What's interesting is that my hairstylist recommended them to me, because he does the hair of many celebrities. What I gather is that if you're not rich, you're not going to get good hair, and if it's discounted, it's not the good hair that they advertise. My hairstylist is phenomenal and he would NEVER recommend bad hair to me. I've been with him from the age of 16-34. I've reached out to them and they don't respond. I spent over $500 and no one cares. I was told to try yummy hair, that's where I'm going next. The "BBB" better business bureau will have a complaint, and an FTC report will be made. It's a shame to rip off those in the black community who aren't "rich" when we are the ones who support. You can't even get good customer service or an apology from this company. It's not about the price, it's about the quality and lack thereof. If you do buy hair from here, don't wait to install it, and buy it even longer than you wanted because you're going to have to cut a lot off the ends. From what I understand, is that she's been in business for over 14 years. I guess that you have to have a certain status to get quality hair from her brand because it makes no sense why such expensive hair, from a 14-year veteran, would be this bad. Pretty sad. I really wanted this to work out, but it didn't. Bought it during the valentines deal. Had the best stylist in town install it. But, ugh. Service was great. (Earned the 3 stars) Professional, faster than fast, and a phone rep was nice. Got the hair in 2 days I think. Packaging was cute. But as soon as I took it out the package, I said... Hmmmmm. I requested Indian wavy 2-18s, 1-10. I was given a 12 instead of the 10. Thanks, but no thanks. Then 12 was bone straight... Scary because I'm naturally curly and don't like to have to flat iron. Anyway, to the touch, hair is dry feeling and low low low key course. Hmmmm. Even crazier, shedding like crazy right out the bag! Whaaaaaat? So I'm thinking, after the wash God please let a miracle happen. Wash, conditioned, and air dried... Better, but, that straight 12 had not one wave and the 18s were wavy but not like I expected, slight waves but very blow out-like. Hmmmm. Still shedding. Got the install, stylist did a great job. Looked fly, cool. About two days later, the curls from the style fell and I got to know the hair real good. The straight 12 fell so blah. Not in a flattering way like I'm used to. I decided to spray it with water to allow the natural wave to do its thing. Hmmm. Ok, it's been in a few weeks... The longer hair in its natural state is like "she got Indian in her family " hair. It's authentic I think, but not silky-fluffy like advertised. Dry, blow out like. I don't get compliments like I usually do, so sad. My friend thought it was Aliexpress!! I almost killed her lol. I could have spent a lot less for that comment. The 12 inch, no words. Does not blend with my natural flatiron... Because mine is way silkier and bouncy. And y'all, that shedding... Never stopped. My teen grabbed my shoulder pulled 3 strands then he started patting the hair, lol, so much came out that he said " are you ok??? Your hair is falling out mom!!!" Lol!! I do not recommend. The amount of compliments I received over this hair told me enough. It was so soft and lusty I couldn't stop playing in it. I bought a HD closure here recently. It is made of inferior quality hair. Upon washing my hair it became matted and tangled.

I love this hair!! This is the only place I get my hair from. I've purchased several textures and types (Indian, Malaysian, straight, wavy, curly, kinky curly) over the years, not a single complaint. The hair has premium quality to which I've worn and reused the bundles several times. As long as it is stored properly (in the box or organza bag it came in) and cared for as if it was your own there should not be an issue. I've even bleached (got a blonde ombra) the natural black Malaysian wavy hair and quality was maintained. It may be costly to some but for what you're getting it is definitely worth every penny! I purchased the Indian hair in the straight texture. It has minimal shedding and very minimal tangling. It's also extremely beautiful. I've tried so many hair companies, including many other popular "High end," "luxury," and " celebrity" brands. I've always been tremendously disappointed by the quality. I am so happy to say that I finally found a hair company that I can stick with. True Indian hair is the truth! Also, the service was amazing. I ordered my blonde hair online, and was called the next day and was told that they didn't have any blonde hair in stock however, I was told that my hairdresser could easily dye the hair. My hair dresser warned me not to dye extensions, however the women from True Indian Hair told me since it was 100% human hair that there would be no problem dying the hair, so I ordered. One I received the hair and my hair dresser tried to dye it, what the women from True Indian didn't bother to tell me was that the thread that it sewn on top of the extension doesn't dye since it's polyester it remained dark brown. SO I COULD NOT USE THE HAIR AT ALL! My calls and emails to True Indian Hair where I requested a refund or even a credit since I was given misinformation went unanswered. Obviously they do not stand behind their product or their sales people. They will say anything just to make a buck. read more

Best damn Hair PERIOD! I bought 2 14 inch Malaysian straight bundles in 2013. It was thick enough for a full head weave and I had some extra ..i bleached and colored them and installed the same bundles earlier this year. They are a bit pricey but totally worth it. 2 years and I plan to use it for a fifth install. It doesn't shed at all and you can still run your fingers through it without one tangle. Truly in love. There seems to be a good stock of wigs & extensions -- several textures and lengths. The service was great -- no complaints there. The staff was patient and very accommodating. I purchased (2) bundles of 14" Indian curly (costing me over $300). The shedding and tangling is far beyond control. I've tried several corrective measures to conquer the tangling, at least, but nothing seems to work. Please do not waste your money! I had high hopes because of the rave reviews & press.
