I've been taking my 84 year old mother here for several months. I noticed the bill this last time was $170 for mani/pedi. I was SHOCKED because usually it was around $65-70. So I looked on my moms bank statements and noticed that it was $65, then $110, then $170. Apparently, they were taking advantage of my mother. This place is a rip-off. I went into true nails today to get a pedicure the pedicure I got was the 46 dollar one with callus remover sugar scrub massage. The nail tech started at 11:18 and was done by 11:45. She put on some sugar scrub, then rinsed it off, put on this thick lotion, put towels over my legs and put the polish on my toes, then wiped most of the lotion off and said I was done. I got no massage. It felt very rushed and she wasn't very pleasant. I will not go back. My total was $65 for a pedicure with gel polish. read more

I was visiting my daughter from out of state and took her and my two granddaughters to get our nails done. We had a regular pedicure (a child) and 2 manicures (a child and 1 adult). I got a pedicure with gel nails. My granddaughter's nail polish started falling off after a couple of days and my daughter's nail chipped. The gel pedicure I got was the worst ever - as you can see from the picture, the gel polish is lifting and several of my toenails have had the polish fall off. This is four days after getting her nails done we called up there the day after we got our nails done to tell them what was happening to our nails that they completely messed up on them that they look fine the first day and the second day they were leaking the jail because they did not get cured properly Then we posted a review couple days ago got told to contact the salon we contacted the salon and they said they could not, and would not fix the nails. Horrible customer service and horrible results. Got my nails done on a Thursday and one broke the day after I got a gel manicure. When I went back in to get it fixed, they said they were too busy to fix one nail and that it was no longer Thursday, laughed at my request and didn't offer any sort of credit, refund or appointment options to come back. Also, always double check what they charge you because on multiple occasions they have charged me for the wrong services or up charged me for things that should be included in the service. My sister and I was looking for somewhere last minute, of course I did a review search and I guess there's also a True Nails in Johnson city.... I'm not impressed at all, with the one in Kingsport! It was a very nasty environment, they had a puppy that peed on the floor twice and all they did was placed a paper towel over it. I was charged $150 for two pedicures and one dipped Medicure.... My sister got the deluxe pedicure ($36) and I had gotten the regular pedicure ($23) they charged ($15) separately for the polish removal for both Medicure and pedicures, also $15 for the regular polish my sister got and gel was (She said) $20 extra but I was charged $40. After being charged $150 for less then an hour total of both us being in there, she tried automatically adding a tip on. Which I very hateful declined! When I had brought my issues to the attention of the lady who did my nails she said "You looked at the prices before you set down, you knew what you would be charged" I WILL NOT BE RETURNING HERE! I've gone here several times for mani, pedi and waxing. They do a great job and do it very efficiently. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. The nail techs were always friendly and do a great job. The gel polish lasts for weeks without chipping or fading. The prices seem fair and have never had surprises on my bill. The most disgusting and unclean nail place I have ever been to. I went once before when they opened, horrible service then and hasn't changed, but some of the nail techs advertise "nails by (and their name)" to trick you thinking they are not part of True. Very unprofessional, rude, and looks like they just got out of bed appearance. Will never return and will tell everyone I know not to go there. I even took pictures of how nasty this place is. YUCK. This was probably the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I was wanting a mommy daughter day today with my 9 year old which started with getting our nails done. We went in and the lady that done he nail was really sweet but didn't paint them the color she asked for. Now on to me, I asked for coffin nails (which he changed me 10 dollars to do) I was trying to pick a color and he was really rushing me. I finally picked one and the color on the swatch was faded, and he already done my accent nails and said he couldn't take the color off. One of my nails broke while I was sleeping, I go to get it fixed and they were 30 minutes late opening and the two women here won't do anything they are making me wait till the guy comes in why can't they do it. Walking into the salon it was clean and well kept. when getting nails done, my friend was cut very badly and they did not throw away the file. He kept going even after she screamed. He continued to put the file back into his drawer to reuse. My nails are very crooked and not the same shape at all. Do not recommend this place for anyone. Not sanitary. read more

I had a 30-40 minute wait for a pedicure, but it's December 23rd and I didn't have an appointment, so that's on me! The first thing I noticed was how clean everything was kept- sealed, sterilized instruments, disposable nail files and scrubbers. The techs wear gloves. $20 basic pedi, $25 for the next tier up (adds hot towels and sugar scrub, very worth it). They were careful to make sure what I wanted before they started (excellent practice, avoids overcharging). My tech was friendly but not too chatty, and she was very good at her job. This is the first place I've been that's gotten enough callouses off- really took her time and made sure I was taken care of. There is a nice mix of male and female techs and a varied clientele- not a snobby atmosphere! Complimentary wine for the 21+ set. Best experience I've had for the price (and frankly, this beats more expensive pedicures I've had) between DC, Knoxville, and Kingsport. We're very lucky to have quality like this locally! read more

Truly terrible service. My friend and I came in, and were directed to a man working there. We had heard that he did not do a great job, so my friend asked if she could have him instead (since she was getting a manicure, and I was getting a fill-in, which is a bit more technical). A woman working there explained that he would rather do my nails, because he received a bigger commission. They then agreed to let him do her nails and gave me another woman. The woman then had trouble understanding me and kept trying to have me pick out other things than what I wanted. Meanwhile, the man working started fitting my friend for nail tips, even though she was very clear she only wanted polish. The whole experience was incredibly bizarre and unprofessional, and also seemed like a clear attempt to just make more money. We left, went to Polish Bar and were treated super well there, and had no trouble getting what we asked for! read more

I went to get a pedicure. My regular place was pretty busy. I had gel police on my toes which had to be removed. While removing, I had to tell him to stop because he was burning my toe. I had to tell him several times that the water was not hot enough. I felt like he wasn't paying attention to what I wanted. He was in a hurry to get me finished, but there was no one waiting. I got the deluxe pedicure expecting a good massage. That was a joke because it didn't even last a minute. When I got my bill, I was charged $15 extra for the gel polish and $5 for removing the old polish. I won't be going back. I read more

First of all, the woman who did my nails (Kim) did a wonderful job! I wish I could take her with me because she deserves better than what was going on at this salon today. I worked in the salon industry for over 10 years and in customer service for over 20. Your front desk person is the first thing a new client sees. They are your quarterback in your salon. When they fumble, your whole salon is affected. Your receptionist today fumbled big time. I came in and she had me write my name down on the back of a receipt with my phone number and then goes outside for a smoke. More people come in and she's still outside. When she comes back in, she acts like there are 50 people waiting. My nail tech asked her for help and the receptionist acted like she was so overwhelmed. She wasn't, she could have got up and got whatever my tech needed. I then get ready to pay and after being charged $20 more than the price listed and told to take it up with the tech I just paid. There was an issue with the CC machine and she treats me like I've never used a credit card before. Lady, it's 2016, I know how to swipe a card..... Also she needs a lesson in dressing like a professional, leggings are made for everyone, but not everyone should wear them. I used to love this place. I would come here every couple weeks but now I do not think I will be going back. The prices have gone up and who knows why cause now I get way less. My nail polish wasn't taken completely off, then she started applying the new color. Usually they take the cheese grater looking thing to my whole foot but only did the bottom of my heels when I specifically said the ball of my feet needed it the most. This was the worst manicure that I have ever had. I took my mother for a mani-pedi for a gift and felt like we really got ripped off. The manicurist sped through the process and didn't give us the full spa treatment we should have gotten. We didn't get our cuticles pushed back and the polish was slapped on so quickly that we left with polish still on the skin around our nails. Four days later I was removing the polish as it was already chipping and peeling off. With the abundance of nail salons around, I'm sure you can find one that is better than this one. read more
