I've had pedicures here and have been very pleased, but my daughters went today, one for a mani/pedi, other for just a mani and when they got home, we received a call from "Jennifer", not sure if she's the manager or not, but accused my daughter of not paying and said she was going to call the cops if she didn't get back there asap. My daughters not only paid ( had already gone through ones bank statement) but left really good tips as well. First of all, if it had been my daughter, she should have asked her name 1st and made sure that she was calling the right person before she starts threatening to call the police. I called back and was told they had called the wrong person! I really like the nail techs there but reception and whoever this Jennifer girl is, need some customer service training. My daughter and her friend went to True Nails to get their nails done for Prom. They were asked if they wanted gel and manicures, they both said no and just regular polish. They were charged for gel and manicures and when they went to pay and said something they were told there was nothing they could do. It seems like that is taking advantage of younger clients when they come in. Definitely never going back and spreading the word about the poor service! read more

I was very disappointed with True Nails. I come to Kingsport often to visit my mother and while in town, I thought I'd get a fill-in. First, I felt very rushed to pick my color. Second, I was constantly asked if I wanted an upgrade (pedicure? gel polish?). Third, the woman who did my nails (Linda) did a poor job. She didn't let me wash my hands before applying polish, left gunky residue under my nails, and even slapped my hand once. She never talked, except to say something to one of the other workers and then charged me $5 extra dollars to do one nail in a different color (I was not told this when I asked her to do it, it was only when I was checking out.) It was my first time going to True Nails. Went for SNS. The women did acrylic even though I told her multiple times that not what I wanted. Didn't take all of my prior SNS off and didn't trim my cuticles at all. Not the shape I wanted and overall don't look the best. Have little bubbles in some nails. My sister and I went to this salon, PAID and left unnecessarily large tips for our nail techs but afterwards received an incredibly rude phone call accusing us of not paying. These ladies were so unprofessional; screaming into the phone, having side conversations, making false accusations without being completely positive that they were calling the correct customer, and never apologized for their mistake. Customer service experience is definitely not a necessary requirement to work in this salon, I will DEFINITELY not be going back. read more

I've been twice. Once for acrylic fill in with gel polish and once for acrylic take off and gel manicure. Both times my nails have been poorly shaped and painted. After the first time I gave them another chance but sadly I was still left disappointed. Gave two stars because they've been friendly every time I've visited and the place seems overall pretty clean. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone for anything! Extremely rude and unprofessional! I have been getting my nails done for over 20 years now and I have never in my life wanted to get up in the middle of the 7 minute total pedicure my friend and I received. First off the man who was giving my friends pedi was disgusting laughing and talking in their language which is extremely rude anyways. He didn't trim her cuticles. He was literally done with everything in less than 7 mins tops! I will NEVER EVER go back. I spent around $60 for both pedicures and when I asked to speak to a manager he said that he didn't have one. So I am assuming he is the owner which is even sadder. Basically I will NEVER EVER EVER go back even if it was paid for by someone else I will NEVER step foot back in that establishment. I'm not sure what was put on my nails, but it was not Shellac. It peeled straight off in huge chunks after maybe four days, like cheap nail polish does. The girl cut my finger with a nail file, and when it bled, she actually insisted she didn't do it. I wasn't able to chose my color before sitting at the bar, and she sat there commenting on my choices and telling me what to choose, to the point of discomfort. And, the whole thing was over in maybe ten minutes. Worst manicure I have ever had, and the employees were just as rude as the experience was poor. read more

I started going here about 8 to 12 weeks ago and I love the service that I receive. My favorite is the hot stone pedicure with my feet dipped in paraffin wax! I have had pedicures done at lots of places over the years, but none of them offer the quality, variety of services, and cleanliness that I have had at True Nails. Cherry is AWESOME!!!! read more

Pedicure literally lasted 7 minutes. I still have old polish they did not remove and I have as much dead skin on my feet as when I came in. Find another place and don't waste 26 dollars on basically having your toes repolished. Find another place. read more

I went to True Nails and they charged me an extra $17 for something I told them not to do. I specifically asked for no gel polish and yet they proceeded to do gel anyways without me realizing. My friend also requested for just paint and no manicure yet they charged her for the massage and everything. The man working on me was on his phone quite frequently too. This was the worst experience I've ever had! I wanted to treat my grand daughter to a pedicure together. There no one waiting so it seemed ok at first. There was only one other lady getting a manicure and three employees working, two Asian women and one Asian man. One of the women asked "What you want?" when we walked in. The man yelled at the other women in their own language, I guess to let her know they had customers. The nan started cutting my toenails before he even had water in the basin so I asked if we could soak our feet for a few minutes, he was very rude and shoved my feet in the water. The women continued on my grand daughters feet and ignored me. They both hurried through the pedicures as if there were a lot of customers waiting, but we were the only ones there. They talked and laughed loudly in the their own language and only spoke to us to ask "What color?", very rudely. The women asked my grand daughter "You like?" when she was finished, she did a terrible job and charged for an adult pedicure rather than a child. The man only applied one coat of color on my toenails, he did a poor job as well. They had the nerve to ask, "You tip?" I said, "I'm not tipping today", and didn't say why because my grand daughter was with me. I have gone there before and have never had such a bad experience. I will never go back again! read more

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! EVER!! Went there twice and had a bad experience both times. Before visiting the first time, I called ahead to get pricing on DIP POWDER was told $40. Upon arrival I told them I wanted DIP POWDER & was given ALL ombré colors thinking this was in the $40 price quoted on the phone. Lady proceeds to do my nails and me being new to the nail world, I thought it was interesting that she wasn't "dipping" my nails. She gets done and I go to pay and she say $60. I'm dumbfounded by this. I explain what happened and she says on ombré $60. I told them I wasn't given any solid colors. She still argues with me and says next time will be $30 for a one color fill in. Next time comes and I pick out ONE color to do fill in (nail tech rushing me by turning on drill to let me know she ready to get me out the door) as she's doing my nails I realize she's using ACRYLIC and tries to make sure she turns container as she doing my nails. Well she gets done and I go to pay but I ask for some oil or lotion for my dry hands and she says okay but continues to check me out. This time she says it's $40 and I'm like Nooooo no no. You're not going to do this to me again. Last time you said a one color fill is $30. I'm beyond pissed at this moment because Three other nail techs come over to take her back by this time I've expressed not coming back. This salon is very unorganized and unfriendly. Went for pedi once with my grown daughter and was there 2 1/2 hrs. We both had different people and were getting our pedis at the same time. Wait time is horrible. Went there again as it was convenient at the time and was there 3+ hours and was left during the middle of a mani for my manicurist to fix a walk ins nails. Will not be going back here....They are disrespectful and feel no obligation to the person they are working on at the time. read more

By looking at the reviews, I looked forward to going here to get my nails done. It was a huge disappointment. Not only did I wait over 30 minutes after being told 5 minutes, but the lady did an awful job. They look like the already need to be filled. She said the nail polish was a see through tint and it's straight up pink. They are extremely think and took over 48 hours to dry completely so needless to say they have dings all in them. All of them are different lengths, and it's a huge difference. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

While getting a full set, the woman didn't separate my skin from the acrylic and cut my skin while filing, looked at it, wiped off the blood, then kept filing in the same spot--VERY PAINFUL!! I was really looking forward to getting my nails done and I finally found time to swing by. I'm a single mother of a toddler, between work and finding a babysitter- it's hard! My mother gave me a gift card to this business a while ago. There was no expiration date on this card. Just True Nails LLC and the address and some kind of number on the back. I wanted a simple shellac polish. As I entered, the worker was sitting on the bench on her phone when the receptionist said it was her turn. I felt like I was disturbing her and she acted somewhat irritated. She did a good job. As I was checking out, I told them I had a gift card. I never imagined what would happen next...the receptionist had just came back in and she told me the card was not valid. I bought it off the street. I'm a scam artist. She was going to call the cops. She was going to take a picture of it. While she was on the phone with the owner, Nina. I was shocked. The receptionist is completely disrespectful. She acted like a drunk pissed girl at the club or something. I still cannot believe I was treated that way. She changed her story about the gift card..first- they have never had gift cards like that, second- it was a gift card when the store first openedd. Another worker came up and she was much nicer and explained that it expired and they no longer have machines for that type of card. She offered to take care of it for me, but went back on the offer for some reason. I just still can't believe I was treated like a criminal. My mother, who bought the gift card went to speak with the girl and she is getting bank statements from the purchase of the gift card. They haven't returned her phone call. I had a panic attack after the incident. I cannot stand confrontation. I never thought that would happen. I was treated so unfair. She cut up the card and told the owner I would probably try to use it at another location. That receptionist desperately needs to find another job that isn't working with the public or some extensive training on how to handle situations and treat customers with respect and kindness. I am writing to the Better Business Bureau about this as well. read more

I went to True Nails today for the first time to get a pedicure and fill in. The guy that did my pedicure was wonderful and did a great job. Unfortunately, he told me that the lady would have to do my fill in. He kept telling me how good she was. I was excited until she came up and told me I would have to wait while she did a pedicure on a lady who came in after me. Then when she did my fill in she jerked my hands and did a horrible job! While I was walking up to pay she came around behind me and grabbed my card. The next thing she did was complain about the machine not having a place a for a tip unless they used it as credit. The man at the front desk was very nice and professional. In fact, the other lady doing pedicures, the man doing pedicures, and the man at the front desk were very professional, but the lady who did my fill in!!! I may be back for a pedicure, but NEVER a fill in as long as the RUDE lady is working there!!!!!!!!! I suppose I will have to go somewhere else to have my nails re-done. read more
