Called ahead for a variety of boxed lunches and wild rice soup. Everything was prepared on time and delicious. Highly recommend for business/company retreat meetings. Delicious and affordable. Stopped here on the way home from seeing an out of town client. The highway sign said gifts, coffee, etc and I can't stand chains. I went inside and there was a small selection of gifts. At the counter it was mainly coffee drinks and sandwiches. The menu board was literally 1" and I could barely read it. The worker gave me a laminated menu. I chose Chicken Hawaiian salad which consisted of diced chicken breast, bacon, mandarin oranges, pineapple and mixed green lettuce. A poppy seed dressing and pop over were on the side. This salad $9 something , but massive. The bowl was about 10" diameter and 6" depth. I only ate half and brought the rest home in a box. This is one of the better salads, I've ever had. I ordered at the counter and sat at a table and salad was brought to me. I was by my lonely self, but Noone knew me in this small town. Definitely going to return if passing through on 94. My husband and I went to have lunch on 4/15/2022 around 1pm. It was seat yourself. We found a table and waited for about 15 minutes before someone came over. The blonde waitress was beyond rude! She told the gal to take the table in ear shot. She began to LOUDLY throw dishes around, mind you other people heard this as well. The food was alright, however we will not return! This place has great service and awesome food! There is a nightly dinner buffet with a different specialty each night. Friday is fish night but there's still other items such as chicken, pizza, salads, soups, homemade desserts etc as well as a full menu. This is a secret gem on the I-94 freeway. For years we have struggled with a spot to stop and never knew if this restaurant. The menu is the usual fare, but the buffet is what sets this place apart. Definitely worth stopping if you're traveling through on I-94. Melrose Exit 135 1 block North then1 block East, just past Burger King. I arrived at Noon and had the $9.29 brunch buffet. They have a few different theme days during the week. My brunch buffet was Comfort Food Tuesday. Salad Bar, 2 soups Wild Rice Chicken and Potato with Ham. Popovers, Home Made Mash Potatoes, Turkey, Dressing, Gravy, Baked Chicken, Meat Loaf, Sauerkraut with Sausage, Brown Rice, A sort of Beef Burgundy/gravy and I forget what else. As usual, buffets have hits and misses. 5 Stars for the meat loaf, loved it... true comfort food. 4 Stars home made mash potatoes and the Lemon Bar Dessert 3.5 Stars for the rest of the food, except 1 star for the brown rice (dried out) 1 star on the Popovers, nice idea, but cold, tough and chewy. 4 Stars for clean and friendly 5 Stars Value brunch buffet $9.29 drink $2.50 tax .84 = $12.63 Salad Bar only option $7.25 (milk $2.25) I rounded up to 5 stars overall because of the meat loaf and overall the entire meal felt like such an excellent value. But according to other reviewers maybe I got lucky, as I arrived when they were changing out 3 of the old pans with new fresh pans of the dish offered. read more

Stopped off if i94 to grab a coffee at true north marketplace. Lots of specialty coffees to choose from. Had a latte that was delicious! They also had an assortment of scones, muffins and other breakfast treats in addition to sandwiches to order and go. Or you can have a seat and order off the menu. There is also a cute gift shop. If you're a fan of buffets, you should try Cornerstone. It's a step above some of the commercial buffets. They have different themed-nights, and lots of specials for children and senior citizens. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The servers were very friendly and helpful, always asking if you needed anything and refilling your glasses. The manager stopped by our table to ask how things were. I hit the Cornerstone with a friend on a Wednesday (family/Italian night). The salad bar is phenomenal. Not only does it offer up a variety, but also some unique items. The greek salad and special dressing was awesome. I liked that there were garbanzo beans on the salad bar. As for the hot meals, the popovers were excellent. Since it was Wednesday, there was an assortment of wings and pizzas (both were pretty tasty), alfredo, chicken, mashed potatoes, polish sausage, and more. I was impressed. The food didn't have the tasteless quality that many buffets have. It was genuinely good, and for $8.99 you really couldn't go wrong. For dessert, there was a selection of bars, pies, soft-serve ice cream and toppings. Overall, I was impressed by the quality, the service, and the decor. There were a lot of seniors and families with children. If you're taking a trip along the I-94 corridor and looking for a buffet that's a cut above the rest, check it out. read more

Been wanting to stop here for a few years and finally did! Friday nights they have their surf and turf buffet with the option of all you can eat crab legs. The buffet included four different salad options with fresh fruits and veggies and cold pastas. The dinner included soups, popover, shrimp Alfredo, stir frys, salmon, tilapia, cod, shrimp, other fried fish, sirloin steak, mushrooms and onions, etc.. The desert included cakes, puddings, crisps, bars and of course ice cream. The food was very good and the service was pleasant. This place is a must stop if you are in the area. Stopped on our way through town- super good food! The buffet looked great but all 5 of us opted for a range of menu items. Everything is served all day long. The stuffed hashbrowns are fantastic. Adding a little hollandaise on the side was also good. Pancakes were good and the chicken tenders and fries with ranch also great. We were looking for a good diner and this didn't disappoint. I called in prior to coming to make sure that i enjoyed what was on the buffet. when i came their was almost nothing ready the noodles for the spaghetti were so hard they could break in half. I could not eat here. the only person that ate out of 4 of us was one. very sad and disappointed as to I also work in this town and am always for helping out the town businesses. this is not the first time this has happened. I had worse but not much worse. The pizza was barely room temperature. The wings for wing night were nearly inedible. The buffalo chicken wings tasted something like sulphur and burned bbq sauce. The chicken breast was so dry and tasteless I could hardly swallow it. I had to dig deep for a hot one and it wasn't worth the effort. The lasagna looked good until I ate it. It was hot enough but didn't have a lick of flavor. The mac and cheese looked so congealed and pasty I didn't dare try it. I hoped the apple crisp would be ok but I was wrong again. No flavor at all.
