Called in before office closed to provide fax number for scripts, and was met with answering machine. 3) They seem quick to make psych impressions. Also unsure if doctor is busy, or message gets lost in process. 4) While doctor spends time with you, you need to be up date and informed of what testing you need (otherwise not helpful and you will be chasing them down in attempt to advocate for your own health). She took her time with me and made me a part of the conversation and decision making, giving guidance without dictating. The office staff was efficient, pleasant and warm. And I did not have to wait long to see the doctor (my time in the waiting was only about 10 minutes). As a new patient the lengthy paperwork was sent to me before the appointment so that was done and also streamlined my time in the waiting room. All in all I would highly recommend this practice. I never feel like I'm imposing when I call the office. Many doctor's offices have extremely rude stuff but not this one. There is one point I'd like to bring to light - the office is stuck in the late 90s/early 2000s as far as technology and service. They don't have the capability to submit prescriptions to a pharmacy electronically which is a GIANT pain. I have to budget an extra hour to any visit in case something is prescribed in order to drive to the pharmacy, stand in line, and hand them a paper prescription. THEN I have to drive back later to pick it up because I don't have time to hang out in the pharmacy for an hour while it is filled. It feels like the 1970s to me. Every doctor I've been seeing since 2005 submits electronically and many times the order is filled within the hour for easy pick up later at my convenience. As far as I know, New York state law mandates all prescriptions must be submitted electronically (to prevent drug abuse) so I'd be interested in what exemption this office is using to get out of the mandate. Secondly, they don't seem to have the ability to accept bill payments via the internet. In 2022! They want you to mail in a piece of paper with your credit card information or call them over the phone to give them your credit card information - not very secure, convenient, or modern at all.

It's an experience that took me five years to talk about because of how traumatic it was. The treatment I received by the ER staff could be compared to a horror movie. I would rather die than be treated by St. Charles again...that's the level of bad I'm talking about. I can't believe such sadistic people work in Healthcare. That's a thought that keeps me up at night. I would never say that every doctor and nurse at St. Charles is bad. I'm sure a lot of caring people work there but not the people who treated me. I know a lot of people in Healthcare and I respect them and admire the work they do but that was not my experience at St. Charles.
