I feel they put her in a price point higher and had assessed more care than what she truly needed, and getting that downgraded was more difficult than it needed to be. I feel part of the reason for this was some the forum was in the transition of new ownership which makes things bumpy. When she first arrived was the forum at Knightsbridge and when she left, it was the estates at Knightsbridge? To be honest, I'm not sure what the name of the place actually evolved into everybody still calls at the forum. I have since moved her out of the facility I can say that when she was in their care, her experience was good. She never was treated roughly or had any incidences that I needed to be aware of. The food seems to have gone downhill and I do not like that the assisted living across the street where she lived is not as nice of the public spaces as it is across the street for the independent care that is my biggest ripe of this place the people who need more care and pay higher cost have a lesser aesthetic in their common space and that did irritate me. I'll be up. It irritated me more than my mom. We moved her to a different company/facility not because of care or quality of care but more due to location. I do like that the forum has memory care and skilled nursing. It was a nice place for my mom, but I would explore pricing of other places when you're looking at this place, this place is good but also is expensive comparatively.

We also switched to a facility in Upper Arlington for a 6 or 7 month period during that time. The people at The Forum cared for my Mom in so many ways. They went from being friends to being caretakers during her transition. I could not recommend The Forum highly enough for how they took care of Mom. We moved Mom to the facility in Upper Arlington after she broke her hip. Great physical therapy team and great facilities. But the one thing they lacked was humanity. They didn't care about Mom, just the checks my sisters and I were writing. Back to The Forum. Not the gold standard for facilities, but certainly good enough and they are upgrading constantly, but more than the Gold Standard for the assistance we received and the help from the entire staff. Mom passed a couple of weeks ago. The nurses and hospice people that took care of Mom were in tears. Genuinely. Love this place and you'll be blessed if a family member has to be there.

I am a current employee of The Grand of Dublin. For privacy and safety reasons, I will not identify the department I work in. What I will say is this: If my own parent, grandparent, or loved one needed long-term care today, I would NOT choose this facility. That statement alone should speak volumes. Before I address the problems, I want to recognize the people who continue to carry this building on their backs. There are incredible aides, nurses, kitchen staff, Activities, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and other employees who genuinely love these residents and go above and beyond every single day despite being overworked, understaffed, underpaid and unsupported. I would love to recognize each of you by name, but I won't because I don't want anyone to face retaliation. You know who you are, and the residents are fortunate to have you. Now for the hard truth. One of my biggest concerns is Memory Care. These residents deserve dignity, compassion, stimulation, and opportunities to engage with others. Instead, I watched opportunities become increasingly limited,due to them not being allowed to leave their units. The Activities department consistently created meaningful events, and they deserve tremendous credit for bringing joy to residents despite the obstacles placed in front of them. What disturbed me even more was hearing certain employees openly say they "hate" the very residents they are paid to care for. Healthcare is stressful. Everyone has difficult days. But if you've reached the point where you resent the vulnerable people depending on you, it's time to step away from this profession. I also personally observed residents waiting extended periods after using their call lights. That should never become normal. Residents deserve to be treated with urgency, dignity, patience, and respect--not as inconveniences. The building itself is beautiful. Families walking through the front doors will probably be impressed. Unfortunately, a beautiful building means very little if the culture inside it is broken. There is far too much gossip, finger-pointing, favoritism, and unnecessary conflict between departments. Instead of working together, people are often blamed for problems they didn't create while the real issues continue to go unresolved. That doesn't just damage morale--it eventually affects resident care. I also want to acknowledge the kitchen staff because I personally watched them receive unnecessary disrespect while simply trying to do the job they were trained and expected to do. What I could never understand was hearing employees openly say they "HATE" an entire department because they didn't like how certain procedures were being handled. That isn't professionalism--it creates division, destroys teamwork, and ultimately affects resident care. I heard those comments far too often, and no department deserves to be treated that way. Could the food improve? Yes. Could organization improve? Absolutely. Could additional training benefit the kitchen? Of course. But here's the part many people seem to ignore: every single department could benefit from additional training. No department is perfect, and no department should be made the scapegoat for larger operational problems. Respect is not something employees should have to earn based on their job title--it should be the standard. Housekeeping, Dietary, Nursing, Activities, Maintenance, and every other department all play a vital role in caring for residents. When one department is constantly blamed or disrespected, everyone loses--especially the residents. I also witnessed what I perceived to be unequal treatment of some African American employees and employees being encouraged to leave paid 5-star reviews. Fairness cannot be selective, and trust cannot be bought. Respectfully I cannot recommend this facility to anyone looking for a safe, respectful place for their loved one.

Unfortunately, that was not our experience. Less than a week into his stay, we were told insurance would no longer cover him and he needed to be discharged. I was not properly notified the day of discharge and received a call while at work saying he needed to be picked up. When I arrived, he was extremely weak and clearly not well. I had previously asked staff to check him for a UTI because he was weak and acting confused. I do not know if that was ever done. As I was helping him into my car, he told me he had orange urine and swelling. Staff told me he was "good to go." Within 21 hours of leaving this facility, he was transported by EMS to the hospital and diagnosed with a UTI. Very disappointed in the lack of thorough assessment and discharge planning, especially for someone with cancer and a compromised immune system. Families need to ask questions and closely monitor their loved ones here.

The building is old and not maintained. Had the Air go out in 80+ degrees for the weekend because it was never cleaned. The only part of the staff that is of help is the Therapists BUT they insist in overlapping the two types of therapy so they can both bill for the same amount of time. Sounds fraudulent to me... I can go on but suffice it to say, Stay Away!

My mom was in a room with a roommate who sat at a table the entire time my mom was there. My mom was taking pain meds every 3 hours. She missed her meds and after an hour she was told the order was just placed with the pharmacist. It wasn't placed when she arrived. My mother, father, and brother thought the room was small and not clean. My mom discharged herself within 3 hours. When I mentioned this experience to someone at my book club she said she was there for a short time. She agreed the room was small for two people and said her roommate kept waking up at 4am and walked around the room. She did not say anything negative or positive about the care she received.

Because of the one great RN named Dawn, she should get five stars. So, that's a total of two stars for the rest of the place. For the price we pay, this place should have better aids and provide more attention vice leaving them to exist in their rooms to sit in filth.

Imagine a super cool college campus with great people, fun activities and awesome food - but NO job, responsibilities or stress whatsoever. That's what retirement living at FVD is like. You move in young, healthy and spry in your 60s and basically have the time of your life. As you get older, additional care and support is there when you need it. The new expansion they're doing, while obviously causing a bit of construction noise/mess now, is going to be AMAZING once it's complete. The Health Center (nursing home) side is wonderful too, once the time comes for that level of care. The people are great - both residents and staff. I love this place and I'm so glad I get to work with the team and residents as part of my day job!

They have some caring, hard working memory care unit staff, but they are directed by a poor management team, and are beholden to managements ways. The communication is nonexistent, residents rooms aren't cleaned weekly as charged (or well), lack of quality engagement with the residents was noted, meals are often mediocre and small portion size was noted with water only for a beverage. You don't get what you pay for in your fees. It doesn't end here so RUN!

She'd gotten very sick two months ago, she had to have a trach and long story short, she was transferred to another facility who, had her transferred to this hell hole of a nursing home! First of all, if Arlington does not have staff around the clock who are skilled at suctioning patients with new trachs then it is ILLEGAL for them to accept a patient who's needs they can't meet! The nurse told my brother that my sister stopped breathing while she was suctioning her, this tells ME, a retired nurse in NM, that the nurse had her airway blocked much too long! Once she stopped breathing they called the paramedics who transferred her to Riverside who pronounced her. DO NOT LET THE HOSPITALS SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO PLACES LIKE ARLINGTON! Their last survey in 2024, they had MULTIPLE nursing issues, Specialty is also at fault for not ensuring they had staff who could provide the level of care she required.
