Someone just smashed my Master combination lock and stole all the money from my wallet in the middle of the day while I was working out. I hate to keep updating my review and with each update dropping a star, but this place really makes it hard to keep supporting them at a 5 star level. While I am still a TruFit member and enjoy the facility in full, my frustration with cleanliness, condition and service continues to rise. And what makes it worse is the on-site leadership nor the corporate teams seem to have any interest in addressing anything. For example, it has been close to a year since I reported what appears to be pink mold on the two large air units that provide air conditioning to the building. The black and pink mold are still there, and the staff has not even made an attempt to clean...which would be as simple as a disinfectant wipe down. Seems like an odd thing to overlook with so many members potentially impacted. This combined with the constant lack of spray and/or paper towels at the sanitation stations is just annoying. In addition, there have been lots of machines that have "pulled a hammy" and have remain broken for weeks and in some cases, months. Again, another annoyance. But above all, the service continues to go downhill, which is a huge bummer. Rarely do you get welcomed into the club anymore and good luck if you have an issue where escalation is needed. We experienced an issue due to recent weather and the parking lot signage. We were getting no where with the onsite leadership or even regional, so we emailed the CEO directly and finally things started happening. And it really shouldn't take all that. I am really hoping this is my last update and star reduction of TruFit. I really do enjoy this gym and want them to be great, as promised. read more

I joined this gym when they first opened and was hoping they would be a few steps above Planet Fitness. 8 months later and I realize they are not. My biggest complaint: the men's locker room. Multiple lockers are broken (doors completely missing). Random clothing items are often left in lockers. The showers are rarely cleaned, and are scummy and gross. One shower has a broken door handle and a broken soap dispenser that is hanging off the wall. It's been this way for MONTHS. I've mentioned this to staff and nothing has changed. I realize It's only $20 a month, but that's not an excuse for not keeping the place clean and in order. I've mentioned this to multiple employees, and still nothing has been done. read more

Excellent gym, clean, great vibes, machines are up to date and large enough where it never feels too full. Would've given 5 stars if the personal training program was more organized. Trainers are nice/professional but the program is very unorganized and they trap you in a contract. 3 of the 4 trainers that were assigned to me were fired & I had to call or reach out to figure out why I didn't have a session and the last one relocated without any notice. (Currently waiting to see how the 5th random trainer goes) Meal plans, body scans & all the extra things you pay for, you don't recieve so don't pay for any extras.. Definitely not worth the money for the personal training so don't fall into that trap. But outside of that, great gym for public workout read more

This athletic club scams customers. A membership was made and was active for two weeks ($10) then cancelled due to moving out of state on 3/17/24. My card was charged for the entire month in April ($30) then in May I was charged the unmentioned "yearly fee" of $54. I have been lied to about a refund and conveniently no one knows when the manger will be in. In the end I was charged almost $100 for two weeks. read more

Big fan of Tru Fit Madison! This gym is airy and open, usually there's a pretty good crowd which I appreciate because it motivates me. The desk staff are friendly, but the PTs seem to keep to themselves, I've had better vibes from the PTs at the Antioch location however that location itself isn't near as nice. read more

I love how there is a wide range of equipment but the cleanliness and here is despicable the bathrooms and sauna is always disgusting and nasty even around the machines people leave trash and toilet paper around and the staff stay behind the counter and don't even take out the trash. The workout classes held in the middle of the gym are the most obnoxious and annoying thing about this place. To add to it, today a trainer by the name of "LB" (whatever that means, manager wouldn't even give me his name), tells me and 4 other members that are warming up on the turf area to "get off classes are about to start". No 5 minute notice, no professionalism what so ever. A grown man demanding other grown men to go away after a long day of working and just wanting to get a lift in unbothered. He initiated with hostility so I responded with the same. Guy wants to then eyeball and mean mug me as I'm walking away and say "I don't make the rules". Mind you, he was wearing a white tank top. Didn't even know he worked there. Simply put you shouldn't talk to people that way in general especially people that pay monthly to be there. And all that just to train 4 people in an overpriced workout class and blare trash music for all to hear. This gym is an absolute joke like some of the trainers that work there. This was the icing on the cake given I had already cancelled the day before. Using up the rest of my days then taking my money elsewhere. read more

I really want to like this gym but they are completely unreliable. Twice in the past month they have closed their daycare or opened the gym over an hour late because their employees didn't show up. Although they have a lot of equipment some machines have been broken since I joined 1.5 years ago. I originally left a positive review for this gym, but after a series of alarming experiences, I feel compelled to warn others about the gross incompetence and negligence I've encountered here. I sustained a serious shoulder injury during a personal training session due to a trainer's incompetence, and despite being assured by the gym that my training and billing would be paused during my recovery, they continued to charge me without my consent. When I reached out to resolve the issue, I was met with disorganization, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability. The gym staff failed to honor the promises made by their own trainers, and after several failed attempts to address the issue, I'm now forced to pursue legal action. The management seems completely unaware of their own internal processes, and there's a significant retention problem within their staff, leading to confusion and frustration for members. I would highly advise anyone considering this gym to look elsewhere. The lack of professionalism, blatant disregard for customer service, and overall incompetence are unacceptable. Save yourself the hassle and find a gym that actually values its members and stands by its commitments. I included a video of how dangerously negligent this place is. Someone just abandoned a heavy barbell in the middle of the machine area far from that type of equipment, and the staff ignored it the entire time I was there, walking by and ignoring it multiple times. It could easily be knocked over and crush someone's foot or injure someone very badly and nobody even cared. Sadly I saw this type of thing almost every time I went in the 8 months I went there. This gym is filthy. Sauna is full of scum. Bathroom showers are gross. Who knows how disgusting the turf is and if it's ever been clean. Basketball net is torn. Just replace the net! The number of good reviews are all on their sales team. They encourage you to write a good review on them when signing up and it all changes after that. The place is disgusting, the locker rooms are unclean and they even are so cheap as to take the paper towels out of the locker rooms and move them to the gym floor instead of just buying more. The main reason of me writing this review though is because of management and the Personal Trainer program. The training program is a scam. I currently have 19 classes($625) worth of training sessions because of my trainers canceling on me. The management doesn't care about that in fact they fail to take any ownership of the situation themselves. I requested 2 weeks ago to canceled from the training program. They are refusing to refund me the money and they said they would cancel out my training and yet I have still been charged twice since then. Do not sign up for training! It has been nothing but issues and the gym is ripping people off. I have talked to others that are in the training program or have been in the training program in the past and this seems to be a rolling theme for this gym. read more

There are unfortunately a lot of issues with this gym. 1. I have shown up at 7:05am for the last 3 Sundays and ended up waiting in my car until 7:10-7:30am until they open. Their operating hours say they open at 7am but they never unlock the doors at that time. 2. The machines are filthy and it seems like no one cleans them. I am constantly finding that i put my clean water bottle directly into someone's sweaty rag that they left in the cup holder. The machines also always have sweat stains like they haven't been wiped down in ages. 3. They run out of sanitation fluid and paper towels very regularly. This is probably a partial reason why the machines are never wiped down. 4. sauna and showers are always dirty 5. although there are a lot of machines a lot of them are broken or not functional on busy days. This makes it even more difficult to get a good workout in because I am waiting around for some one to step off of a machine so I can use it. read more

My partner signed up for a membership here. I am on the fence because I already do yoga and take dance classes...so it's just another thing to pay for. He downloaded the app they told him to download and he saw that he could receive 500 points for bringing someone on a three day guest pass. So I signed up. Tru Rewards emailed me a guest pass. The trial passes really help me to understand the vibe/culture of a gym before signing up. Today I showed up with my three day pass with my partner and they turned me away. They said "oh we don't do that due to tourism" um what?! Lol. I'm from California, I lived in LA and San Diego. Huge city's - also, have you ever been anywhere? I mean...people travel constantly. I also have a Tennessee State ID, Nashville address...like WHAT?! So...your false advertising is now MY PROBLEM. Anyways, a waste of time. I've worked in gyms and been a gym member many times over the last twenty years. I've never been met with a poorer excuse after wasting my time. My partner had to drive me home. They wanted to instead charge me a day pass of $16 -- after all that. Huh, anyhow -- don't think I'll be signing up. Left a bad taste in my mouth...and I really still don't understand why a new gym would do this. Keeping in mind...this is not something I came in demanding, it's something they offer, just in reality. My suggestion: do not enforce a new rule until you change the internal systems and offerings. terrible people working for this company. it's supposed to be a month to month membership and I went to the club to cancel because I broke my hand, have to move in with a friend because I can't afford to live...and they gave me a little cutout piece of paper with an email address saying I couldn't cancel in the club and I would have to contact them via email. I did that and they sent back a very generic email saying my account couldn't be canceled until and of december?! I dont quite understand since it's month to month and I cancelled on 11/7 so why would I have to pay two more months or a membership? after following up on the initial email response from TruFit, they cppied and pasted the same exact email and sent it again. I responded saying that and they said nope we can't help you. These people are truly trash and any company that hires people who can't speak to their clients in an understanding way really shouldn't be in business. I'm not proud to say but I've used this membership just a handful of times in the past year so it's not like I was there all the time anyway. Don't make it so frustrating and difficult! If people want to go to your gym, they will but your crappy employees aren't going to retain anyone worthy. I just needed my membership cancelled (for now) but after the treatment I experienced, I will never visit a trufit location again and will tell everyone I know to go to the YMCA instead. This place is incredible. I love all the classes they have to offer. But honestly the best part is my personal trainer CJ! He pushes me but remains encouraging. He has helped me transform my body in just a few short months. I added a before and current photo same shirt different body and self esteem! I'm still a work in progress, but I'm pretty proud of how far I've come. Don't walk RUN (it burns more calories lol) to this gym and CJ if you want REAL results. I have been going to this gym since day 1 of it opening and at first it was great. I workout on a daily basis and today I showed up to the gym and they have completely removed the cleaning wipes and had replaced them with a spray bottle with no paper towels to clean the equipment. Hygiene is a big thing for me being we are sweating all over the equipment and I don't want to end up getting ring work from this gym. More than likely are going to change gyms because they are too cheap to supply sanitary wipes to clean the equipment. This place is a complete scam. They charge you double what they are supposed to. Per the contract it is supposed to be biweekly but no they charge you every single week. When you bring this to their attention they tell you that biweekly is every week. When you send them a certified letter that act like they did not even get it. Gym is not very clean (trash is always full, and I don't think it's been vacuumed in weeks). I was willing to look past that being that I go to the gym right when they open and figured maybe they clean mid day. Today I went to the gym at 7am when they were supposed to open and waited a whole hour just for no one to show up and open the gym. ended my Peronal Training Contract on 2/01/2023, and my last bill date was 2/26/2024. I notice today 4/16/24 that Trufit in Madison, Nashville Tn location was still charging my card 85.50. I printed off the cancelation Request Form and took it to Trufit . I asked to see the Personal Tranier Manager, the lady at the front desk said Aaron Stamos was busy so I waited and ask could I see some else that is over him. I can't remember the gentleman name but he was a Manager (tall brownskined guy) but not over Personal Trainer, he proceded to pull up my account and it showed 85.50 was actually coming out of my account after I had cancel back in Feb 2024. The tall gentleman approached Aaron about the situation and I was told to go to Aaron desk and he would handle it. I sat there across from Aaron and he was on the phone trying to fix the problem, as he got off the phone he gave me back the original cancelation form that showed his signature from 2/24 that he signed when I ended the contract. Aaron told me " your money for the 4 payments that came off your card will be posted back to your account" I stood up and said" wow could you at least apologize to me for your mess up, you charged my card, I heard you tell the brown skinned guy you messed up, at least apologize to me!" He shrugged his shoulders and I said 'cancel my membership, you are rude!! Aaron Stamos told me to go see one of the ladies setting there. The reason why I am complaining about this, yes I am going to get my money back, it's the arrogance, the I don't care attitude that Aaron Stamos showed towards me. he was the one that messed up not me. If the tables were turned I would have apologize, so I wouldn't loose that person as a client. His customer service Sucks. read more
