Do not go!!! Scammers!! I had signed up for PT and never got any service. I signed up for 3 month contract then was told i had a 6 month contract that I was not aware about and they would not give me service no matter how many times I called they kept on charging me with no service or resolution. When I stopped getting charges they sent it to collections without notice. Soon found out that I wasn't the only one with this issue. Don't waste your time they will steal your money! read more

No one puts their weights back. Many members will use multiple sets of barbells for extended amounts of time, making them unavailable. Extremely packed from 6-8, but in honesty, that's going to any gym in Odessa. Lots of workout equipment that is not working, and I have not seen one of them get fixed since I started working out there 5 months ago. Broken equipment just keeps piling up, a major amount of treadmills are inoperable. The only plus side is that they do have heavy sets of dumbbells. This also means that the gym is very high on the meathead factor. If you can handle increasing amounts of broken equipment and some meatheads that sometimes get a little loud, this is the gym for you. Also, 45 day notice to cancel membership. The only options on the west side of odessa are trufit and planet fitness. I would do a trial membership on both and then make your decision. read more

It used to be a good gym when it was hero's but since it's turned into Trufit it's a pile of cow poop. I cancelled my membership three years ago and I'm still getting monthly and annual charges but when I call or go in to talk to a manager about it, I'm told my account has been cancelled and there shouldn't be anything coming out and I'll be reimbursed for it but then they ghost me everytime. don't waste your time or money here. read more

This gym use to be nice and clean. Since Trufit took over its never clean any more. Locker rooms are filthy. Gym floor are dirty trash is left out for days or longer. Heros staff use to vaccuum and mop every day, NOT Trufit. Weights use to be picked up and organize. The staff and management clearly dont care. The equipment is breakdown and not being repaired. Today I counted 17 cardio machines, 2 benches presses, 2 cable machines all out of order. I was hoping this new company would be better, but seems all they cared about was coming in taking down a wall, painting the walls and charging more money for what .... NOTHING. New manager acting like the "new sherriff in town" wants to still check people's temperatures. Since business are open and everything is going back to normal, this place has YET to go back to the 24 hour fitness facility I applied for years ago. You'll pay for 24 hour only to get 5am-12pm on week days, 8am-7pm Saturdays and 9am-7pm Sundays. If you live in town, go somewhere else. Various equipment is broken and bolts are missing or loose on the machines. read more

Horrible Gym!! Over two months with the gym closed they still charged us money, then I come back to find out my locker was empty and that they "donated" my headphone, clothes, gym bag, etc.! Our 1 year membership ended in August and they still continued to charge us for months even after communicating with them many times we wanted cancel. I joined TruFit a few months ago because my fiancé had her membership there before I & we usually workout together when our schedule allows it. I had came from a really nice gym closer to town that was newer but much more pricey so because of this and my fiancé, I decided to give TruFit a chance. My experience with this gym is not a great one but not a horrible one either. I'll explain. The equipment is fair and it just seems like it takes a little longer than needed to get anything fixed. Since the merge with the new name it seems like they are revamping the place, which is a big plus but it still needs a lot of work. Dumbbells and misc equipment is always missing. I do believe it's mostly up to the member to return the weights to its designated area but I also do believe they should have staff helping to keep weights & equipment organized and in order. The men's restroom always needs attention of some sort. For some reason at least 1 urinal is always broke. It gets fixed but it's always something. I do give them credit for trying to make it suitable for its members but I believe it could do a better job at maintenance the restrooms and equipment. I understand it's going through a process of change at the moment & that's why I will not give it less stars because change does take time. Due to this, I will give them the benefit of doubt. Hopefully by then most of these issues will be addressed and it turns in to a great place that I know it can become. A future review will be provided once the gym is completed. read more

So I give this gym 2 stars, not because of the quality but because customer service. When my wife and I first signed up, I mentioned I was military. The female at the front desk said that they offered a military discount. $25 a month, no contract, and no cancelation for MY PLAN. I though "awesome!" We recently moved from Odessa so we can no longer use this gym, so I called and canceled. I get a call back saying that I have to pay full price to cancel both accounts because there is no such thing as a military discount. So far I have been charged over $200 extra for my account alone. I had to inform the woman on the phone that I gave the management my DD214, which has all of my personal information on it before she would even talk to her manager. They DID end up letting me cancel for free, I'm just out on all the extra money I paid. The whole thing was very sketchy. What kind of "Heroes" fitness does not offer a discount to the Heroes they built their gym around? Great equipment though, gets super packed after work hours and smells terrible after a while. None of the people working the counter have a single idea what's going on. read more

They're hours are 5:00am-12:00am on Mondays. There are about 15 other people currently waiting for a worker to show up. The owner isn't holding the employees accountable to ensure proper operation of the gym. Their equipment isn't in the best condition. A female higher up or trainer may be sitting in the front desks but won't assist a customer or search for an employee to assist the customer. This gym is an embarrassment. At this point go to planet fitness. read more

MAKE SURE YOU USE THE RESTROOM BEFORE YOU HEAD TO THIS GYM, OTHERWISE YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT IT OUT!! I am really dissapointed in this gym now that TruFit took over. I cannot believe I actually left Planet Fitness for this gym. My main problem is the locker room, because they constantly have plumbing issues. You practically dont know what to expect everyday you go in there, whether you wont be able to shower at the gym that day, or even use the restroom. The plumbing issues can last for weeks so it has become an inconvenience. Unfortunately, when they fix the problem it only last days or a week till they go down again. I am just waiting out my contract so I can go to another gym instead, because this is just ridiculous already. read more

I went to cancel my membership today and they said they were still going to charge me for August even though it is still July. They also charged me $60 to cancel. That's a total of $97 to cancel my membership. They advertise as costing $10 a month but it's actually $37. The staff was apathetic and not helpful with the cancellation. Don't sign up for a membership here unless you want to be taken advantage of by predatory fees. read more

If you want to sign up for a membership that automatically renews itself and is next to impossible to cancel this is the gym for you. I start going to this gym when it's was hero's fitness (Btw, hero's was amazing and I loved it) but since tru fit bought them out it's been straight garbage ever since. I originally signed up for hero's as I said above for a 1 year membership. And when tru fit took over they said after the contract was complete they will continue to charge me on a month to month basis with no agreement from me whatsoever. I've called multiple times to cancel the membership and they will transfer you and leave you on hold for about an hour and when you do "cancel" you get hit with the same charges next month! It is criminal and I'm pretty sure close to illegal so I'm trying to see if a lawyer will help me out but in the mean time I was forced to block the payments through my bank. Overall the gym has a lot of equipment to use which is great but over the last month it looks like over half the treadmills don't work and it takes an extraordinary long time to get equipment fixed. During the transition from Heroes to TruFit they shut down for a week to do renovations and painting but never touched the locker rooms. Their website states they have Luxury Locker rooms but the urinals never work, the lockers look like crap, they are always dirty, and the showers are disgusting. The tanning booths are oddly placed in the middle of the lobby and are small with little space to get undressed in. Bulbs are very rarely changed. They used to have music playing but now it's just silence or light office music. I will most likely be looking for another gym unless changes are made. read more

I decided to try this place out with a week pass a while back. The place is very dirty, bathroom area needs sanitizing and new light bulbs so they can see the mess. The people working front area are a bit rude and not helpful. I can see why its so cheap for membership. Others had warned me about the facility. read more

the gym is ok although equipment is constantly out of order for long periods of time. The billing department / management are terrible. They make it impossible to cancel a membership and then after you jump through all the hoops they still keep billing you. My son moved, I sent in all the paperwork, new school schedule & drivers license from different state where he moved and still have to deny charge to my card every month. I have called a hundred times just to be put on hold or hung up on. I have went to Odessa branch and flat out been lied to. I have also emailed this guy that responded to the other reviews multiple times and have never gotten a response. I've been coming to TruFit for over 3 years. The classes are phenomenal and the coaches make you feel like family. Once your attendance is a continuance action you really do become a gym family with the regulars. Even though the sauna for women is a tad bit small it's a game changer. They gym employees are very friendly and make you feel at home. The facility itself may need a bit of a touch up but slowly the machines are getting worked on and have gotten working ones. over all I'd always recommend this gym because it's a great home gym and not too big! read more

Does FREE child care mean poor quality?? I have been attending this facility for a couple months now and even got my mom to sign up with me. My complaint is about the child care. My kids never want to go because they have told me over and over about the teachers not being fair or nice. (They are kids so it's easy to not jump on board with the negativity) I tell them it's fine your only in there for 45 minutes anyway. A couple weeks ago my kids were playing tag and every time They tagged another child he would yell rape, so-and-so is raping me. The teachers were just laughing, my son told them that's not right n they said oh he's just playing it's fine. It made my boys uncomfortable. So the next time I let my oldest son take his phone and charger. When I go to pick him up he's saying someone stole his charger. The teacher (which I hadn't seen before) tells me a kid stole it and they do it all the time. It didn't feel right so I stood there n said well let's look for it before we jump to conclusions. The other teacher awkwardly looked in the top filing cabinet that no kid could reach and a couple of different places. Then she looks behind a trash can and there it was rolled up n tucked away. A kid didn't do it! Then yesterday after numerous Incidences, I get a call while I'm working out to come and pick up my child. When I arrived in the childcare area the worker told me he had to leave because he was choking another kid. So I asked her if she had asked my son what had happened and she said no. She said the other child ran out when his mother got here and told her that he had choked him, so since he told first it was my son's fault and he would be in trouble. So I asked my son to tell her what had happened. He continue telling her along with my other son that that child had been hitting and pinching my son over and over. He tried to tell the teachers and I guess since he's older they didn't care and thought it shouldn't hurt him. The child continued hitting and pinching my son, so he held his arms around the other child's to hold his arms down. The child started jumping up and down and then my son let them go. The teacher previously that miraculously found the charger, Said that she saw my son choking this child. My kids hate going to the childcare and that is the only time I am able to work out so what am I supposed to do with that?! The daycare manager decided to call me today and let me know that my child is suspended from there for three days because of him choking another child yesterday. Did they have the entire story? No. I am so over trying to get to the gym and every single time something happens in the daycare!!!! Just because it's free does that mean it's poor quality?? read more

These people are thieves and liars. I got my son a membership and he used it twice in 6 months. Only paid for that long so I wouldn't have cancelation fee. So we paid for services we did not receive. But when I canceled on April 20th 2022 which I had to leave work to do in writing I was told it's possible it could take 30 days. This gym charged me April 28th and again may 31st. I called to get it fixed and explained the situation to a female manager. Her response was that they changed it to 45 days. I again said I was told 30 days on April 20th. She said, "Well we changed it" so I asked her if they make all these excuses to everyone she said no. Do not use these people they will lie and steal. And definitely do not give them access to your bank account they will rob you blind. While I was paying the payments were never consistent you never knew when they would decide to charge you! This gym is horrible! I call several months ago to cancel my member ship. I was told by one of the employees at heroes fitness that it was done, and cancelled. I come to find that it was not cancelled. They lied, and continued to charged my card. I drive up there trying to resolve the issue and wanting a refund for the last month at the least. Which was more then fair, and they refused. Then charged a huge cancellation fee. I was told that there was no proof that i talk to anyone so i was lying. The reason why I don't like this gym is people sneak in, none of the workers actually check for gym passes. The women that work here are extremely rude. Buy then want to flirt with the guys working out there. So don't tell me your employees know how to do their job because apparently not. read more

Good gym with good options. Relaxed, easy going no judgement type of gym. Exceptions are @$$ holes who feel they need to grunt and drop their 200 lb weights every set of three. In from out of town and a member of a high end gym in Dallas. I'm usually underwhelmed by the gyms in Odessa. Heroes is a surprisingly well stocked gym. The weight room and cardio machine selection is one of the best I've seen anywhere. Do wish there was a hot tub, but otherwise a great place to get your pump on! read more

Equipment is nice, staff is mediocre. They also are not honest with you about their membership policies. They tell you no contract, yet unless you pay an entire years worth of dues upfront, you get locked into a 1 year contract. I emailed the business manager about cancelling and was informed I received an email copy, etc. which is great, but I was lied to in order to get signed up. I attended mission fitness for almost a year, and it was no problem to cancel. I put a Stop Payment in with my bank and they threatened to turn me into collections. Would not recommend this gym to anybody, simply due to their dishonest sales tactics. read more

Cancelled my membership on October 1st.. was charged for October and November. It is now mid December and my refund for some reason has not been processed. The gym "manager" is no help, and the financial institution that processes the payments needs the gyms approval?! They send emails to initiate the cancellation then don't respond to approve the refund request. Save your money on this mediocre gym, and save your time on these useless phone calls. read more
