Before I renewed this year in May, I spoke to Customer Service, and established that a manager was going to come out the next day and address these issues. We paid to have new sod for our yard. It looked beautiful. We made the mistake to hire TrueGreen and I should have read reviews on all of social media first. They have been serving our yard for 10 months. I have had complaints along the way and I was always told just wait it will be better. It is now full of weeds and looks terrible. They have taken my money and ruined the new sod. Please do your homework and do not use this company. They do not treat for what is actually going on in our region and will ruin your yard. We've had True Green for 2 yrs going on our third summer. We've had to call them back repeatedly. A couple weeks ago, we're sitting on the porch, a rep from True Green walked up and said, "I notice your yard has a lot of weeds. Do you use a lawn care company now?" I wish my wife had looked up this website prior to paying for this service in advance. We initially observed a young kid making two swipes across our large front yard and in the truck he went missing our back yard too. We have had to constantly complain about the service. We call this local number and so far we have reached Pennsylvania, Maryland, Florida, an out of the country operator, and one other location. For 9 days I have called trying to cancel and get our money back. Do you think anyone cares to call us back or view this ugly lawn? Crickets! You cannot get past this call service, and one cannot get the same customer service person twice...a real scam service. The guarantee on their literature is a joke. They have an honest looking middle aged white man on the front, and they send these young kids out to do the job. We signed up with Trugreen last fall because it was more economical than our previous lawn treatment company. That was a huge mistake. In May the technician sprayed our fescue lawn with the wrong chemicals and killed the entire lawn. It took 4 months to get a plan in place from Trugreen to 'fix' it. However, they refuse to resod the lawn because they want to be more 'economical' (the words of the branch manager). They are choosing to overseed it instead of fixing it with sod. It took us 6 seasons of aerating and overseeding our lawn to get it looking like nice lush sod, and they ruined it all in one application. Then to add insult to injury, they did not refund me for the services and then refused to return our lawn to how it looked before they ruined it. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible. I used to have TrueGreen and cancelled several years ago because after several years with them, I ended up with more weeds in my lawn than when i started using them. I swapped to Northwest and my lawn improved dramatically over the course of the next 2 years, until Northwest got out of the lawn maintenance service and sold my service to, yup, you guessed it, TrueGreen! I now have more weeds than bermuda in my lawn since they did not put down any pre-emergent. During my last normal service, they put down fertilizer, lime, pre-emergent, and a herbicide. The ticket stated that I should see the weeds discolor and decline in 14-21 days. The ticket stated that the herbicide targets Annual broadleaf weeds, clover, dandelion, and wild carrot. After 22 days, the weeds were larger and more wide spread. I identified them as Poa Annua. I called to let them know that the herbicide had had no effect and told them what weed I had. I asked that they poison my weeds because they are getting out of control. They wet up a ticket for the following week and no one showed. I called on Friday of that following week and stated that no one showed, so they set up a call for the following Wednesday,. The technician came out and put out MORE pre-emergent and more lime, but no poison. The service ticket states that this product is good for Chickweed, Dandelion, and Henbit, but states nothing for Poa! I called and told them to put down Poison not Pre-emergent, so they came back 2 days later and put down MORE PRE-EMERGENT and MORE LIME, but NO POISON for the Poa. At this point, not only do I have more weeds than lawn, but I am worried that so much lime will burn my Bermuda Grass that is just now trying to green up. I hired Tru Green to eliminate weeds in my yard. The application caused chemical burns which lead to over 20 bald spots in my yard.

I was in shock listening this morning to the customer service rep from True green and my husband today. Late year he asked to speak to a manger they have it noted and the lady remembered my husband calling to complain. Yet no manager ever called. The issue is weeds, no fertilizer is being put down when it needs to be. The product they claim is fertilizer is not. We have weeds all over the yard. I called back to the call center, as THEY DO NOT HAVE AN OFFICE IN GEORGIA. I spoke to the lady who offered me all kinds of concessions to keep the service. I said just cancel it. She asked me a question, to which I replied do you have my records in front of you? she said yes. Ok read the notes. you can answer your own question. I said what good is note taking if none of you read the notes. She said is there anything else she could do for me. I said have the owner call me, not a manger an owner. I cant do that. I am a 35 year old business and when you come to my location you can talk to either me or my husband. To my point just because you slap stickers on a truck doesn't make you a business. True Green has no accountability for what they do. They have horrible customer service. Save your money, time and most importantly your yard. Go elsewhere. read more

Horrible customer service. Can't get past the call center to a local branch. They burned part of my lawn and some of my bushes now have the browning and different colors. All the weeds are growing back. The tech who came today explained their mistakes and said that the pre emergent they routinely spray must have drifted on the bushes and was used in lower temperatures than it should have been. My grass looked better before trugreen started working on my yard . The mistake I made was to pay the full amount when I signed the contract otherwise I would not have paid them and I would have canceled my account. They would show up every month when no one is home and stick a little sign on my yard showing they were there . The weeds in my yards are still there and I paid them over 200 dollars for aeration but I still have bold patches all over my yard. I never use them again . They are such a scam . read more

I hate this merger. I LOVED Northwest. I have called in at least 4 times and submitted bank statements showing I do not owe a bill from October 2023. I was enrolled in automatic billing with NW and was charged monthly for service. I was charged as always for the months of Sept 23, Oct 23, and Nov 23. This invoice was already paid and no one at Trugreen seems to be able to figure it out but yet your billing department calls me once a week and each person I speak to acts as if there are no notes. Get it together. Stop stalking me for something that was paid and which I provided documentation for. Its insane that you all do a merger and can't get the accounting straight. One ,ore call about my balance and I will take my business elsewhere. Follow up: Received a call that my account would be credited. Only to have their Collector-GANG call me the very next day.....credit was applied to a bill I already paid. These people cant get it together. I am done. read more

I've had it! I'm dumping their service after many years. I'm tired of the lack of the technicians doing their job right. If I performed in this manner, I'd be fired! They clearly told me that after getting their service done, the weeds will die and if I see any weeds, give them a call and they'll come back for another service round for free and will do so till the weeds are dead. I have had Trugreen service for about 4, years and I don't know what happened in the last year but the service has gone from good to poor. The say they came but did not. Yard looks worse than people who don't have any weed control service. They don't give notice when they are coming so I can unlock my back gate. This company is a scam. I was very dissatisfied with an aeration service I received last year. I did not sign up for any aeration subscription and would never use TruGreen again after their machine damaged my property. Additionally, I would never schedule an aeration in July during a heat wave. Despite this, I was charged for aeration and told the technician completed the work and knocked on my door. I have cameras and would have seen them, plus my spouse works from home, and no one came by. I do not recommend their services and am appalled by their sketchy business practices. Very bad experience with this company. Initially when they called they have mentioned 1st service for $16 and during that 1st month I got the bill of $48 which is like they are deceiving customers and telling something on call and doing something different on the account. Also the Lawn service was not good they didnot mention anything about my lawan and just said will need lime treatment and will get back in 1 or 2 days. But no one called or even bothered to check how was the first service and ask for any feedback. Very disappointing and called customer service to get this cancelled immediately. HORRIBLE SERVICE!! They are beyond awful and if you have any issues - there is no local number to call. You have to chat or speak with a robot or get transferred to an international call center. They charge a premium price and the service is so frustrating! They came for my annual re-seed and aeration on my Fescue grass- and aerated the WRONG Bermuda grass yard and laid no seed! Everyday they say they are going to come and do the correct yard but always email and say they can't make it. Today they finally showed up and the guy says it's a two man job and he can't do it until 4 days from now! They've been doing this same yard for three years! How do you not know that you need a second guy? By the way - the second guy is supposedly because there is three small steps to a lower level in the yard that he says he can't do by himself. Trugreen FAILS AGAIN!!! First it has been over one month since my lawn was fertilized. So I had to call last week to schedule to have my lawn fertilized and also scheduled for my PH treatment. Since that STILL HAS NOT BEEN DONE EITHER! The fertilization was scheduled for today (060121), and guess what. Trugreen NEVER SHOWED UP AGAIN. Even though I received the recording saying they were coming today. I NEVER received a call, an email update or anything. The Trugreen website STILL EVEN SAYS IT'S SCHEDULED FOR TODAY! Trugreen is COMPLETELY AND ABSOLUTELY USELESS!!!! I also received a message today saying the PH is going to be done tomorrow. We will see if that even happens. Trugreen is the most UNRELIABLE AND HORRIBLE lawn company I have ever had the disappointment of working with. HORRIBLE!!! If I could rate them -100 I would because they are USELESS!!! The most recent application left our lawn with large patches and stripes where there was obviously no fertilizer applied. Stay away!!!! This company Lies! I do not want to use anything that is toxic to pollinators and agreed to a pollinator safe treatment. When the tech came out he told me it wasn't pollinator safe. So after going round and round I gave them a chance with the lawn only and not my trees and shrubs. Then I get a call telling me that they can care for my trees and shrubs without the insecticide. I agree and pay them. The tech came today and sprayed nearly 108 gallons of poison on my trees and shrubs. The chemicals he used is highly toxic to honey bees. Worst part is there are bee hive boxes sitting in my yard and he sprayed anyway without inquiring if there were live hives. This business is a complete disaster and they are not honest. I've canceled all services. How dare they come into my yard and spray that crap! read more

My experience with TRUgreen had been HORRIFIC. I say that because I'm not even a customer, I'm a mistake they made. One of their techs treated my yard, but as I said I'm not their customer, they did the wrong yard. Problem was my ACTUAL lawn care company treated it just 2 days prior the the TRUgreen debacle. They killed my beautiful fescue backyard, broke a landscape light in the front yard, and almost killed my Bermuda up front. I have a whole home surveillance system had had the Truck, Tech, and the whole visit on camera. I called their corporate number, emailed with Meagan K on 6/16, 6/23, 6/25 , 8/18, and 10/8. I called again and spoke to a different rep in Tampa I think, she assured me the " Regional " would contact me that day. Nothing. "Steve" 770-870-4154 ,came by after my initial correspondence with Meagan, but never followed up, never aerated and seeded as promised, and my yard completed died and filled with weeds for the last 4 1/2 months. I stopped a tech treating a neighbors yard and he took pictures and talked to his boss, Malcom 404-476-0432 . I called and texted Malcom for a conversation, nothing. Since they want to be the worst company they can be, I've decided to share my story to prevent them from being able to take advantage of anyone, because if they can't even fix a completely obvious screw up and not take it seriously I will dedicate my immediate future to writing a ZERO STAR review every place I can find. I tried trugreen for one year, I paid top dollar so my lawn wouldn't be the worst in the neighborhood. Instead I had out of control weeds, and when I called trugreen to come out, they gave me excuse after excuse why my lawn needed time to adust and respond to thr chemicals. I responded to a flyer in the mail. After advising the agent of my choice and payment plan, he proceeded to charge the full cost on my card. That was remedied quickly and the payment plan was initiated a few days later. First visit-: The technician shows up in a red hoodie fully covered up, no indication of what company he was with, apparently he was new and did not have a uniform yet. The other technician with him was pleasant and offered the explanation. My explanation at the onset was that I had a weedy mess for a yard, so I was surprised that they were surprised. In spite of all that they did their "lime" application. I was then advised that someone would be by shortly to tend to the weeds. I was promptly charged $62.00. Second visit. Their tech pulled up to my gate barely sprayed my front yard and left. The backyard? Nothing. I watch the entire thing from work on my home camera. He was gone in less than 10 minutes. It took more time for him to write his invoice and walk to my front door and leave it. The invoice stated he sprayed my entire lawn area. For 62.00 an application, I expected just that. After that, I was no longer interested in being your customer. You have great flyers, extremely polite and pleasant phone reps, now you need to work on the lawn servicing and the people providing that service. read more

I paid 1 year in advance for TruGreen to get my lawn healthier. I also paid for aeration and reseeding. They broke and chipped several rock steps while moving the aerating machine into the backyard (which I had to replace). I didn't want any excuse for not giving the treatment enough time. Well, one year later, I don't see any difference. Time for renewal came up, and I said no thank you. Customer rep gave me an attitude and now I'm even questioning how this company is still around. Branch # 5772. This is easily the worst service company I have ever worked with. From the very beginning, they only applied treatment to our front yard. When I called to notify them, the tech tried arguing with me about it when he showed up to reapply. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept the service going. The very next service date, the invoice stated they used a granule-based application. Security cameras showed no service tech in the backyard and no evidence of granules in either front or back. It also states they used 9K sqft worth and my yard is max 4500 sqft. I'm assuming the invoice isn't accurate at this point. I finally had enough and called to cancel the service. Per their cancellation policy "Be sure to request and receive a cancellation number." When I requested said number from the customer service rep, I was told they don't have those and I'll receive an email. I request to talk to a manager and was told I could get a call back in 24 hrs. If you want no grass in your yard, hire TruGreen. In 2021 a Trugreen team member sprayed my lawn with the incorrect product. Killing the whole yard. The product made it to where we could not seed after as the dirt was contaminated. The regional manager came and apologized, promising to make it right in the spring. 2 weeks before my spring seeding by TruGreen, a technician sprayed another product that inhibits seed from germinating. So alas, still no grass. I cannot get the regional manager to come to my house or call me back. So I am stuck with a mud pit. There is no number to call someone locally.
