Today as I commuted to work on Del Mar and Valley decided to merge last minute into the lane literally forcing himself into the lane regardless almost hitting my car. I honked letting him know that he can't do that. He should've merge earlier no last minute. He continued to laugh and call me foal names and pushed the truck in until he literally forced me into another lane. This is the second time in three years that we have Trujillo Tree Service cut down trees and overgrown brush. This time they came in to remove bougainvillea that was planted too close to a concrete fence. Because of the tight space they had to do it by hand. I cannot say enough good things about this company. I have used them 3x over the past 18 months. I first hired them upon the recommendation of my real estate agent to trim the very large trees in the front yard of my new house. Then one of my palm trees fell on the street during the fires in February. It was blocking the street. I called Jose and he came over in one hour to haul it away. Unbelievably great service! Based on all the good reviews, we called one day late afternoon and Jose came out right away for an estimate. We needed trees, hedges, stumps removed along a wall in order to plant creeping fig. By one 1pm the next day, the entire job was complete and he even personally went to buy the 20 plants and had them all planted as well. I was looking to hire someone to clean up the yard around my property. Overall, they did a great job. I would recommend them to others and would hire them again in the future. Scheduling: 4/5 When I first contacted the company, I was able to schedule a free consultation quickly. The day of, they told me they would be about 30-50 minutes late. When they did not show up, I was going to contact them but they contacted me a few minutes after their estimated arrival window to let me know they were on their way and would be there in about 30 minutes. In the end, they arrived about 2 hours later than originally scheduled, and I did have to rearrange my schedule. However, they were communicative and provided updates about their estimated arrival, so I was luckily able to accommodate. Once I hired them, scheduling the service was quick and we confirmed that they would arrive around 10-11 am the next day. However, the service team arrived about 2 hours earlier than scheduled. I am not usually a morning person, but I luckily had woken up earlier than usual that morning and got a text about 45 minutes before their arrival that they would be there at 8:30 am. Overall, scheduling is not too bad and they are communicative and responsive. I just removed a star because on both occasions (consultation and service days), their actual arrival was 1-2 hours off from what I had originally scheduled with them. My current schedule gave me the flexibility to accommodate these sudden changes, but I recognize that not everyone has that luxury. Service: 4.5/5 The team members were quick and efficient. After I explained that work I wanted done (same work that I discussed during the consultation), the team split off and each member got to work. They did a great job cleaning up the yard, trimming back bushes, and removing a few trees. I knocked off half a star for two reasons: 1) they broke a glass jar/vase while working in the backyard -- they cleaned it up but they did not mention or report it to me (I only knew about it because I heard the shatter and the scraping on the ground when they were cleaning it up, but I was in the middle of work and couldn't go check in), and 2) I had provided some water bottles and snacks while they were working and they had left a couple of empty snack bags lying around, but I was able to clean those up pretty quickly myself after they left. Value: 5/5 Overall, they did a great job and the price was very reasonable. I did shop around and get quotes from other companies, and I found their price to be competitive. Ultimately, I chose Trujillo Tree Services after seeing the ratings and reviews online. I debated on whether to give an overall rating of 4 or 5 stars, but I decided on 5 stars because the actual yard work (trimming bushes, removing weeds and trees, etc.) was done well. read more

We we're looking to get rid of 3 large palm trees and received quotes from various companies. Jose was very quick with responding and another bonus they accepted credit cards. We provided pictures and he was able to provide us a quote with details of what was included in the cost. It was not the lowest quote, but it was reasonable and because they're fully insured was very important to us. The crazy winds on 01/07/25 caused a large branch to fall off a very old pepper tree it was starting to lean and its roots were causing cracks in the dirt and concrete in the patio so we called them out the next morning to remove the tree before it could cause more damage. They were there within about 20 minutes of the call and started working on it immediately. They got the branch cut up and hauled away very fast. They had to bring in a crane to cut down the rest of the tree, but they did a wonderful job and it was cleaned up very well. It was a huge job and was done for a very fair price.
