Used to love this place, but new policies and lack of transparency changed that…read more I'm writing this to help fellow shooters make an informed choice. I used to be a big fan of The Gun Range because of their friendly staff and their policy allowing outside ammo. As someone who buys in bulk from Cheaper Than Dirt, being able to bring my own rounds makes this hobby much more affordable. Unfortunately, my last visit with my son was a major disappointment: Shotgun Ammo Price Gouging: We brought a new Boss 25 to break in, only to be told we could no longer use outside shotgun ammo. They quoted me $48 for a box of 25 shells. For context, I buy 250 shells online for $86. That is a massive markup. Misleading Safety Claims: When I questioned the policy change, the manager claimed it was due to a fire caused by "faulty shotgun ammo" at another range. I looked this up while waiting; the fire she referenced was actually attributed to faulty air filtration, not ammo. Poor Customer Service: We bought two targets but only ended up using one. When I tried to return the unused, unrolled target, I was told it was "unreturnable" because it was rolled up--despite the fact that the clerk was the one who rolled it when selling it to us. A private business has every right to change its policies, but they should be honest about it. Don't hide behind safety excuses to justify inflated prices. They've lost my business and my trust.

Went with my GF for her first time. As gun ranges go, it's solid. The big plus for me is that the…read morepeople I dealt with were very nice and did not have that typical gun range attitude that you're likely to find. I saw them interacting with people that were clearly first time shooters and they seemed very nice and helpful. As someone that was clearly experienced, they didn't ask me a lot of questions, and just gave me the information on their range protocol and I was good to go. I went on a weekend and it does get busy. We had to wait about 20 minutes for a lane, which really isn't that bad. I appreciated the fact that you can bring your own ammo with a few restrictions such as in rounds, tracer, steel, core, etc. Nothing too over-the-top, and all very reasonable. I did not buy any ammo there, so I can't comment on the prices. The range rental fees are for as long as you like to shoot, which is very nice. They have a number of handguns and long guns for rent, the only restriction there is you must use their ammo and you must have at least two people... For some reason, they will not rent a firearm to single shooters. The shooting positions are a little narrow, but are absolutely fine for two people. There is not much room behind each position, especially if there are many people on the range, so keep that in mind. It is good to note that since they allow a wide range of calibers, you may find yourself on a line with people shooting long rifles and large caliber handguns. If you're a first time shooter, or don't like it crowded, I would strongly recommend going during the week. They have extended hours until 9 PM every day, but Sunday, which is great. The Saturday that we went the range was completely full, and some shooters were shooting large caliber rifles, as well as a few people had full auto or maybe they rented them. It's definitely a little overwhelming if you're not prepared for it!

I started coming to this place when I lived right down the street from them in Southampton, and…read moreeven though I've moved to Philly, the drive is always worth it. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, the selection is great, and they have the absolute best prices on whatever you're looking for. I don't even bother shopping online because they'll usually have it for the lowest price I can find, or only a bit more, which is worth it to keep these guys around. Their NFA services are also great; I hate dealing with paperwork, but they make it fast and easy. Their engraving services are also the best I've seen the area. All in all, I can't say enough good stuff about the place.

I purchased a used Steyr Aug stock from them on GunBroker. They said it was in perfect condition…read more The stock arrived with a hairline crack. I contacted them and asked for authorization to return the stock. They said: they couldn't see the crack; the crack wasn't serious; it wasn't cracked when they sent it; they had a photo showing it wasn't cracked; they did not insure it when shipping; they would not accept a return; I should try to get Steyr to warranty the broken stock. I contacted my credit card company and told them I had done so. Then they seemed more interested and said: we will send you a return label; we will refund you when we get the stock back; we have a brick-and-mortar store and lots of great reviews. I don't believe any of it. Their customer service is angry and rude. They implied several times that I was trying to cheat them in some way. I said: I will just let my credit card company handle it from here. Then they reported my emails to them asking for a return to Amazon AWS as spam (weird) and left a dishonest review for me on GunBroker. They've had 40 bad reviews on GunBroker since they signed up on July 5, 2016. I've had one (from them) since I signed up on March 12, 2000. I'd recommend never buying anything from them.

They are friendly and knowledgeable and I find the prices fair for weapons and ammo. They also sell black powder which is very good for reenactors or black powder hunters. Some people have complained that there are lines and it can take a while-to be fair that means they are popular and have a lot of business. One of the tell-tale signs of a good place. Do you really want to go to some place other people don't trust?

Then refused to sell a gun to my one sister. Who has no legal issues what so ever. Then I decided to purchase it for myself they hinted straw purchase I was looking at them and thought if you seriously decide to accuse or allude the Nra or news media outlets would love the story. Then they boasted about the gomer pyle training classes they offer and pushed that towards my sister's who both have hunters safety course and carry permits . Little to say how the hell does a true legal rights buying person be allowed to purchase and shoot a firearm if this store wants to refuse and push there training courses you must also pay for ? Don't buy ,dont go. Fyi ive hunted for over 44 years and had far more extensive training then any of the gomer pyle squad arrogant clowns there. Don't attempt to allude or accuse a legal gun owner of any illegal actions or slander a person for such actions . Maybe your Money hungry staff can learn actual manners and not push your Gomer pyle training that folks have to pay for and do what your legally bound by federal laws if a person has no criminal record and follows the criteria to legally own a weapon. Stuff your ghetto range and funky punk attitude downstairs gomer pyle clowns. If you need to speak to me figure it out . You only have dozens of comments like these im notifying the NRA of your staffs accusations and actions . FYI SOCIAL MEDIA SHOWS NO MERCY EITHER . NOTHING LIKE SPREADING THE WORD TO 2500 PEOPLE WHO LEGALLY GO TO PLACES TO PRACTICE YOUR RANGE WONT BE ONE AFTER THIS . GOOD DAY F TROOP
