We had a catered party at work. Woweeee!!! The best ever!!! I would recommend it highly for your next party!!

So on my way to do a side quest for my job, I decided to see what I could have lunch. Originally, I had my sights set on an El Salvadoran joint over on Fort Point, but that was essentially a cash only place, so I continued on to see what else was available. After a fair bit more walking, I walked by this place, a Greek restaurant that was in the same plaza that used to have a Five Guys there. Initially I walked a slight bit further to see if there wasn't anything else, but it didn't take me long to circle back around and head over here. Customer service was fine. It was my first visit here, so they walked me through how to order, and yes they do have menus you can take if you decide to come back in the future. I did however want to take a pic of their wall menus for Yelp because that's what I do as a Yelper. They kind of said it right away as I took my pictures, which leads me to think they have a slight bit of trouble trusting the process. That said, I won't knock them too much for it because I knew they meant well with it. I do however want to point out one comparison that one of the employees mentioned here: that their ordering system was like Chipotle. Now, I know some people swear by Chipotle and would likely die on that hill, but I have been to Chipotle enough times that I really wish she didn't say that. It undersells this restaurant to a point that putting this on the same level as Chipotle is a disservice to Truly Greek. Why? Because unlike them, this place is actually cleaned after, and the bathroom is cleaner and actually encourages good hygiene. Qdoba would be a far fairer comparison if that employee really wanted to name a fast food establishment to compare this to. If you choose to eat-in, be careful where you sit. They had a chair keeping the door open, so I spent my meal feeling the cold wind blowing on my face. Seriously, are they trying to turn me into Frosty the Snowman in late May? But if you're willing to brave it or choose another seat, the chairs are made of wood with bamboo cushioning. Honestly, the chairs weren't bad to sit on. The food was good. Not perfect, but good. I first tried had the Greek Fries. The fry itself has a light crunch, but it's also a bit limpish if that makes sense. The feta cheese do bring it to a higher level and makes the fries pretty good to eat. The one thing I did notice as ate these fries was that the vinegar that went into the dish stood out more than the rest of the dish, and I can't be sure if that's a good thing or not. It really depends on how much you like vinegar, but yes, the vinegar was quite prominent here. As for what I built, I had a pita with tzatziki, lamb, red pepper, feta, red onion, and cucumber as well as a second sauce I don't quite remember. It was another sauce that was whitish in color. Gyros in general are a tad difficult for me to get through, but this was a good gyro and I wouldn't mind having this one again. If half-stars were a thing, I'd give this a 3.5, but I rounded up to a 4 here. Other than the windy air coming in, this was an overall good visit. Oh, interesting fact, the boss came in while I was in the middle of my meal. I didn't talk to him, but it looks as though he brings his family here every now and then. I mostly ignored these interactions because the only thing relevant as far as I'm concerned was me and my food. So yeah, there ya go! read more

I've been a long time customer. I don't like to complain but this is the 2nd time this happened. The pita didn't have any actual chicken pieces. It was all dried end scraps. I only ate the pita since I couldn't chew the "chicken" that they gave me. I'm very disappointed and probably won't be back. read more

I recently decided to go vegan and am always on the look out for places that offer vegan options without having to modify anything. Truly Greek is a great place for lunch and dinner with vegan options that you can customize by creating your own bowl or sandwich. I go with their bowl (because of dietary restrictions with bread) and get a lettuce base with my protein being lentils. Then I pile on veggies like onion, chickpeas, beets and more! Choose the vinaigrette dressing because it is beautifully spiced. You can also choose a vegan lentil soup, hummus, dolmades ( grape leaves stuffed with rice). The regular fries are also addicting! This place is great to go even if you are not vegan because of the amount of customizable options!!! I have gone two days in a row and plan on making this a regular spot! The service staff is on point too. So incredibly friendly and they move so quickly. The owner is typically there too and checks in with guests to make certain you are enjoying the food. They have spots for in restaurant seating - cute decor - as well as take out. ( One recommendation/ request is for the owner is to add marinated tofu to the choices of protein just to help us vegans out some more.) Terrible customer service. After paying I forgot grab my son's drink; and I went up to get it. I was accused and harassed that I stole a drink. He said yes he is drinking it, that's the drink I paid for. He insisted I stole it. I said come and look he only has one bottle we forgot it when we paid. He insisted that we had taken 2 bottled drinks. After coming to look again he dropped it and said ok. No apology of accusing me of stealing. My sister had left a tip and so I had I. I have never been treated so rudely in an establishment that I stole something. I will never step foot in here again and neither will any of my family. Extremely rude and highly offended. No sorry. I love how you can create your own bowl of a salad or a rice bowl or a wrap. This place is so versatile and delicious. Their sauces are really really yummy and there's just so much flavor and everything. The french fries are a must because they are perfectly thin and deliciously saltyI would come back here. I've been curious about this place since it opened and wanted to give it a try as I absolutely love gyros and I was not disappointed! It was great! I ordered a custom lamb gyro pita for pickup through Grubhub but actually decided to sit in. The restaurant itself is super cute and everything was very clean - a great and bright space to have a meal and even get some work done! The workers were very sweet and attentive, great service. As far as the food goes, the gyro was amazing! The flavors were immaculate and the portion size was great. Lamb has become one of my favorites and they do it so well here. Plus, they do NOT skimp on the protein portion as some places do - there was a good amount of meat in the gyro which I was super pleased with! Our child had a midday bday party at Tumble Jungle so we were in need of a close fast casual option that wasn't a burger chain - this place absolutely fit the bill! Walking in, ordering was simple and easy - pick a starch/salad base, protein, and load up on all veggie toppings as desired. I went with rice bowl and gyro (lamb and beef mix), topped with veggies, and overdosed on the tzatziki sauce as was my usual practice in a gyro situation. Hubby ordered chicken and gyro combo over rice. Bowls come with toasted pita bread and we ordered a side of the regular fries. Everything was delicious! Portions were big, and honestly this place has some of the best fries we've had at any restaurant. It's fast casual so there's no waiter, just toss your trash at the end into the bin. Parking is pretty easy. We will definitely be back, at a minimum for the fries. Why not five star? I wouldn't get out of the way to eat here, but it's definitely a forefront option if I'm shopping or running errands in the area. read more

Lost a new customer. As a private chef I value freshness and customer service, which Truly Greek gave me neither of. First time customer and I kindly asked for fresh lamb to be carved from the spit. The gentlemen at the counter said they could not do that because then they would have to make exceptions for everyone. He then showed me a tray of what looked like dried out lamb that he assured me was carved "maybe about half an hour ago". I kindly said thank you, but no thank you and left without even trying the food. Customer service matters these days and being in the industry, this is not acceptable. read more

Writing this so the owner sees it. Tonight I picked up a gyro , chicken - for take out and feta fries (Greek fries) - I am a cook myself and know my seasonings very well. One of your employees does not understand either garlic or garlic powder. I am going to opt with garlic powder. I'm extremely allergic to high quantities of garlic powder in food as it's spicy and dehydrating. My dinner tonight was sopped in garlic powder - after throwing up , I also have brushed my teeth 4 times and can't for the life of me get rid of garlic powder - it's in my pores it's on my sheets. It's just gross. And before anyone tries to argue this, I put garlic powder in a minimal amount in my Ramen, I know what it taste like. Especially when I mess up. This is absolutely crazy. I don't even see how I could even sleep tonight. This is not a preference. You literally need to check what they are doing with the seasoning in the kitchen. This is not normal. read more

Wow...just wow! We ordered the family meal as we like to support local businesses. It was ready very quickly and was full of flavor! Proteins were juicy with flavor, tons of fresh feta, beautiful veggies in out salad! So much amazing food for 5 for the price! We will definitely be back again ! Can't wait. I really love the concept, something like a greek style chipotle. It look me a second to understand the menu and i mentioned to the staff that it was my first time. They didn't say anything or explain anything but I guess you pick a few of all the things in front of you, sauces and toppings and all that. There had to be 4 people working in the line up. I got a bowl and my boyfriend got a pita. The chicken was pretty dry so I may skip that next next time and pick another meat. I really enjoyed all the topping and the titziki was really good. The feta was so strange! Ground up like parm cheese. My boyfriends pita fell apart before he even picked it up so it was a big mess. They actually put all the sauces on before the meat and toppings so I think that made the pita just disintegrate. He said he would do a bowl next time. Fries were okay. I'm not sure they are made to order. Seating is very uncomfortable, super stiff, but the place is cute. Thankful for easy parking. I want to come again and see if I can make myself a better bowl because they do have a bunch of options. read more

Food is good, it's a nice change of pace from lunch spots in the area. However today I had a super gross experience. The girl in front of me ordered a gyro and bowl. When the woman asked what the girl wanted in her salad bowl she said "it's kind of alot, can you read it from my phone?". She then handed her the phone which she took in her gloved hand, and then grabbed handfuls of greens with that phone hand. That's just nasty, that girl probably uses her phone in the bathroom all the time. There was no way I was ordering a salad after her so I left. That girl should never have put her in that position (have some common sense, don't be lazy, order your damn food like a normal person), but come on lady, you can't be holding customers nasty phones and then contaminating all your food. This place is a gem. I stumbled onto it one time visiting GNC next door and it's incredibly impressive. The quality of the food every time I come has been outstanding. Think of a Greek style Chipotle...choose your base, choose your protein, choose the delicious details that garnish it all. They have everything you want from kalamata olives to some incredible tzatziki. Seriously, this feels like a family recipe. Everything is super fresh and you can even pair your dolmas with some authentic Greek drinks - which is the hallmark of a fantastic Greek spot. Just got done throwing out our takeout from Truly Greek. My husband had the lamb Gyro which was meh. He said it was super salty. I had a chicken pita with lettuce, tomato, red onions, tzatziki. The chicken comes sliced, not kebabs. It tasted dry and old. The fries tasted like they had been cooked in 10 hours ago and also over salted. This place has gone down hill and we will not go back. I love this place!! I literally crave their bowls when i'm away at college! The workers are also always extremely nice.

The set up is very similar to chipotle. I love that they had healthier options and a nice variety to create your own pita, wrap or bowl. I ordered a large bowl which was enough for two meals! The servers offer you a nice variety to build flavors like lentils, rice, Greek lemon potato wedges, sautéed green beans with garlic, w three types of greens spinach, Romain, and mixed greens, tomato cucumber onion salad, and many other typical salad veggie toppings. The chicken souvlaki was very very tasty not at all dry & very tender. I found the tzatziki to be particularly delicious it was thick and rich- even better than some Greek diners. The interior is really clean modern bright, the servers were really friendly and happy to help, and there's a serving station with condiments and real Louisiana ice tea. It's fast and fresh with ample parking to get in and out. A really nice addition to the area! read more

A few of us ordered from here through UberEats. Our food came fast! I had a bowl with rice, feta, marinated chicken, scallions, tatziki, lettuce, tomatoes, & cucumbers. I would recommend getting the regular/large bowl - it was a good size for lunch or even dinner. I was not impressed with the chicken. It was A) Not marinated B) Tough. I was also not impressed with the rice - It was just very plain... To me this was not authentic greek food. I wouldn't mind ordering again when I'm in the area, but it would not be my top choice.
