Trustbridge turned out to be a disappointment. My mom was on Trustbridge for a couple of years due to Alzheimer's disease and was in a care facility. They provided items for her care and had a nurse visit her. Then recently they decided she was no longer eligible for care because they deemed her stabilized?? How can this be since she has gone down in physical and audible capabilities and needs to be showered since she can't do it on her own. She can still feed herself which is good for someone in their eighties. I was shocked when Trustbridge called me to say she will no longer be a part of their care. Thank God another care program is providing for her needs. Families dealing with loved ones who have Alzheimer's should be aware of this. I am my moms only family and sometimes feel alone in this situation but thankfully she is being cared for not only by a caring facility but by a different care program. read more

100% agree with all of the reviews here that the initial onboarding was very quick and supplies were brought promptly. After this, it has been disaster after disaster. Additionally, I signed up with them due to their reassurance that they could provide another level of continuous care when my mother got bad, where there would be a nurse present 8 hours or more a day. What they don't tell you is that you'll never qualify for that next level of care because if the symptoms are managed they don't see a need for it. Can't breath? Give her pain medicine. Constipated and writhing in pain? Use a suppository and a pill. Falling down and fractured ribs? Pain pill and rest. Shitting herself and unable to get to the toilet? Sorry, they don't help with that you need to pay someone to address that. Delirious and hallucinating? More pills. Can't swallow her pills? Liquid morphine you can give orally. Can't swallow? Just leave the morphine under her tongue. Unless the symptom is present for 8 hours and it never is because they can pump you full of drugs, they won't give you that care. First, we had a nurse that refused to come to our house because I mentioned I had some bumps (which turned out to be hives). I only mentioned it because I wanted to be sure it wouldn't be something I could give my mother. The nurse said absolutely not, she would not come to the house as she had to protect her staff and I didn't hear from them for an entire week after this. By this point my mother was significantly worse. I called on the Sunday after the incident to complain, to speak to a team manager (I was told they do not work weekends), and request a nurse come more frequently. When I called the following day to confirm a nurse was coming there was no note of anyone coming, not even what was supposed to be her regular visit, as that nurse had taken the day off. If they lost my request, they conveniently lost my complaint, and again when I asked to speak to a team manager a second time I was told I'd be called back. By the time the team manager called me back the following morning the call was pointless as that tells you everything you need to know about how concerned she was with returning the call. When they did get a different nurse out I explained my concern about my mother not being able to make it to the bathroom alone any longer as her legs were to weak to walk and the nurse took several steps back and told me they don't help with that, I'd need to hire additional help. Needless to say, I wasn't asking the nurse to come to our home several times a day. The nurse said if my mother soiled the bed they would change her the once, but that she would indeed sit in her filth the rest of time. A nurse was only coming once a week at this point, but they agreed to schedule someone 2-3 days later for an additional visit. A few days after this incident my mother fell and hurt her ribs. The first nurse that came out addressed her bed sores and not her ribs. We then had to wait another day for the nurse to come back and actually assess the problem. Turned out she had a fractured rib. By the time the actual doctor came out, my mother was in bad shape. The doctor estimated 1-2 weeks left without her eating much. At that time, the doctor told me when my mother could no longer swallow her pills they'd need to set her up with an IV, which would start continuous care. Fast forward to when she could no longer swallow her pills, I listened to the doctor tell the nurse over the phone to just get me a comfort kit comprising of liquid morphine I could administer myself. Now, this morning, my mother woke up in such a panic that she couldn't breath that her legs were over the bed rails. I gave her morphine and a nebulizer and called hospice to request someone come quickly. Their response? "Your mother is fine now and we're busy with crises calls, it'll take awhile but we'll get a nurse out when one becomes available." To top it off, the nurse I spoke with was combative and argued with me about what the previous nurse had said as their notes did not match our conversation. Additionally, my mother has bed sores and it has become apparent during the episode she must have soiled herself. It has now been 5 hours since I called. I am again waiting for a team manager to call me back. Surprise, this time they tell me there is a manager present on the weekend, but that she's on the phone and will call me back. Again, 5 hours and still no call. My mother will literally be dying in the next few days and there is nothing that makes hospice consider my mother worthy of a quick visit nor the next level of care. *Further update- I was told yesterday that my mother is not eligible for continuous care until she can't swallow her liquid medication and told I'm told I can just leave it under her tongue. read more

It pains me to write a very mediocre review for Trustbridge HOME hospice care in Palm Beach County, as I passionately believe in the home hospice model of care for end of life. It's a daunting task for the average person like me to care for a terminally ill loved one at home, but a good hospice organization can provide the needed support. At it's best, which I've witnessed in another state, with care of my dying mother, home hospice provides palliative care to the patient which includes an array of supportive services for both patient and family. Unfortunately, at many points Trustbridge added to my stress because of a pattern of occasional incompetence, lack of personal case management, and slow response time. I'll give a few examples. 1. We were to be assigned a nurse who would follow my loved one's case and make home visits, but we had fill in nursing care from August until October when we finally met our assigned nurse, who made a total of 3 visits to our house before my husband's death in November. While the fill in nurses were adequate, they had no particular knowledge about my husband's case. 2. There were long wait times when making a phone call to the triage nurse. The triage nursing care was extremely uneven and depended on the particular nurse you randomly reached. Numerous times a triage nurse would say, "I will pass this information on to medical" only to find that nothing was documented and no action was taken. Two days before my husband's death, I called the triage line in the morning to request a visit from medical staff as I had noticed changes in my husband's medical status. Noone came that day which was a busy, stressful day of patient care for me. I finally got to bed after 11 pm and was awakened by a phone call from a fill-in nurse who said she was on her way to see the patient! I told her both he and I were finally asleep and she was not coming to disrupt either one of us at this hour. The next day, I called Trustbridge, and a fill-in nurse visited. I never did hear from my husband's assigned nurse at that time, or after his death the next day, but that is in keeping with our impersonal experience with Trustbridge home hospice care. Trustbridge is a hospice factory: while it probably checks the necessary boxes to maintain licensing, Trustbridge is not responsive to the needs of a particular case. Staff appear to be overworked and stretched thin. I made an appointment with a chaplain and he didn't show up. I called Trustbridge and was told someone would call me, which never happened. One week later my husband died and that chaplain showed up at my door. When I told him he missed the appointment the week before including the opportunity to talk to my husband when he was still alive, he said he was very busy, not exactly a consolation to me. If I had not had the guidance via phone from an out of state relative who is a nurse and well versed in hospice care, I don't know how I would have managed. Thank you to Margery, the home health aide, who bathed my husband 3 times a week from August until his death in November. She is the one Trustbridge employee we had a relationship with. I wish I knew of a hospice organization to recommend in south Palm Beach County. Maybe others can make suggestions. read more

We brought my Dad home with Trustbridge. The nurses were very good. They brought us all supplies and medications we needed. When he took a turn for the worse our initial encounter was not helpful. The second call did send a nurse out and the follow up the next day was excellent. The problem at the end was they were unable to fulfill their crisis management promise and my sisters and I became his crisis management team until he passed. In the end we kept him home which was his wish. If we were not healthcare workers we might not have been able to fulfill our promise read more

DO NOT use this organization. They seem good in the beginning and deliver all supplies quickly and send out a very knowledgeable RN with great bedside manners who says all the right things. But you need them the most when your family member is put on crisis care with 24 hr. nursing at the end of life. This should be the best part of the organization BUT this is the worst part of the organization. The nurses are not only rude and without empathy but they are not knowledgeable and take no action to call the doctor if the patient seems to be suffering. The point of Hospice is to keep your loved one comfortable and without pain. We were told what end of life would be - it was NOTHING like we were told. My father was agitated, in pain, uncomfortable. The pain meds were clearly not helping and the incompetent nurses just sat back and watched. We had to fight with them to call a doctor to change the meds. There was no initiative on their part to make him comfortable. He really suffered in his last days under the hands of this organization. It took them almost 6 hours to come get him from our house (even though we were told it would take an hour) because they had a scheduling conflict apparently. This is unacceptable The nurse had to dispose of the left over medicine and asked one of my grieving family members to be her witness and even asked us for a disposable container to use for the disposal. They shouldn't have been asking US for anything, especially at our time of grieving. I can't explain the anguish I feel when I think of my father's last few days and what he endured at the incompetency of this organization. The lack of skill with their crisis care team and their lack of care and empathy for my father was disgusting. When we needed them the most, they were total crap. Finally, Jona the Crisis Nurse who was above all else a compassionate human being to the love of my life who expired in a short time after her arrival. Jona afforded us time to mourn without an agenda. She was warm kind n professional. Hospice is always a difficult choice but this team helped us through this emotional process. read more

Their admission staff are like used car salesmen, except this isn't a car, it's someone you love. They only care about getting admissions (that's how they get commissions). My brother-in-law was only there for 2 days before he passed away, but his attendants were very responsive to our phone calls. We do not live nearby, so this was important. His passing was handled with dignity and as his next of kin, Trustbridge responded to they necessary information we and the funeral home requested. read more

If I could, I would give this company zero stars. I tried to sue them, but the state does not allow for malpractice. I had a situation where I was lied to about my mothers condition and not allowed to be with her and her list hours. The lying nurse called me when my mother was dead after I begged all night to see her. She told me that my mom was stable and then two hours later called me and told me there was a change in the condition. When I got there, my mother was dead. She died alone And was not even given any medication to make her comfortable as she could not breathe and had problems with congestive heart failure and died in her fluids. I called the police on the nurse when I arrived, but nothing was ever done. Nobody has empathy for somebody on hospice. I would not recommend this hospice Company. I'm sure there are others that are much better. I was not even included in grievance counseling. A counselor came from another company to my home to help me with my party. It's bad enough to lose your mother, but losing her in such a manner, made it far worse. This nurse had no empathy and when I reported this to the Director of nursing, they told me it was the nurses cultural differences. I don't want to hear that, nor is that an excuse. She even went on to saying that there is a nursing shortage. That's really not my problem. If they can't treat people with dignity, then they shouldn't take them into the hospital. I would've preferred to bring my mother home and I regret that I didn't. They lied to me and tortured my mom. read more

This is the worst hospice care ever. If someone recommends to you, run as fast as you can. They are responsible for killing my Mother. Vitas took care of my grandmother years ago and were great. I was told that times have changed and to go with Trustbridge. To start, they wrote down the wrong diagnosis for my Mother even though it was told to them several times. 90% of the nurses were harsh and abrupt. I had wrong medications delivered to me twice by the pharmacy department. My Mother had to go without pain medication and so did the person whose prescription they sent us. I went away for a few days and was told they would care for her onsite at the Hospice by the sea facitlity - my Mother was on TPN and I was promised by our case manager Ted that she would receive her TPN onsite apples to apples. The second I got off the plane I received a phone call that they couldnt do what was promised to me. Now Im thousands of miles away! I had to make 30 phone calls and spend all day in the airport brainstorming a solution. While I was away they overmedicated my Mother with morphine and kept her drugged until my sister arrived and told them to stop. I took her home and she was so ill, i thought it was just the morphine until she started vomiting and i brought her to the hospital. It wound up that she had an infection from hospice by the sea - I am 1000 percent sure they gave it to her because while we were in the ER at Boca Regional, a trustbridge nurse came to see us and touched my Mothers double lumen hickman central line with no gloves and without washing her hands! The ER nurse went crazy as did I. My Mom was so sick from this infection, she decided she wanted to die. We entered the hospice floor of the hospital and there again I saw a nurse touch her lines without washing and without gloves. The care was so below par. Prior to going into hospice on September 17, my Mother was going to get treated with radiation for breast cancer and her oncologist assured us she had a year of a minimum of living to do - well it took Trustbridge from the time we joined them in August to October 18 to kill her. 3 months with them and my beloved Mother is dead. I asked to meet with Jackie Devine , the chief clinical officer. She did not know the names of any of the nurses I had called about, she basically told me they are putting protocols in place for hygiene and the pharmacy mistakes (shouldnt these protocols already be in place!!!!) Her response to me was that it was all human error. Yes, human error by Trustbridge killed my Mother. They are the worst, unprofessional, and uncariing organization. They should be shut down as far as I and several others are concerned. I am going to write a book and in detail name names of everyone who led to the demise of my Mothers care. Anyone reading these reviews should look at the dates to see when they were written, things change over the years, hopefully for the better. My mother in law passed away at Trustbridge Hospice in West Palm Beach on East Avenue last week. We decided to take her from the hospital after a stroke to the quiet, caring environment of Trustbridge. If the room got cold we turned off the AC, that was not a problem. After moving from the loud chaotic ICU to the peaceful hospice she began speaking again. We had a few wonderful days with her before she passed. She was visited by two music therapists who sang to her, and us. There was a dog who visited too. The doctors were kind and caring, the nurses and aides were also. Shortly before she died our nurse let us know that she thought she would pass shortly and we were given time alone with her. The experience could not have been better and I will be forever grateful to all involved in her care. read more

My dad was at home with hospice care from trustbridge . While he only lived 2 days at home his time was peaceful . The admitting nurse Clara was very caring and made sure everything was in place before sending him home with my mom . The 2 nurses that cared for him were wonderful . They respected our privacy at the same time they got to know a little about each of us and my dad. Hats off to Sylvia and Pierre . Such compassion . RUn away as fast as you can. My mother was with trust ridge for 4 months. Diagnosed with severe fibrosis of the lungs. She was given a aide twice per week for a bath, one nurse per week to take her blood pressure and take supply order. She was not advised to get treatment from her 4 specialist. Her pulmonary Doctor never got paid for 3 visits while in hospice SO they would not treat her anymore, The very specialists she needed but TRUSTBRIDGE would not pay him . They had a M.D. but no specialists. He came once: Dr Dedesta (so?). They DO NOT DO PREVENTATIVE TREATMENT OF ANY KIND. last month a RN CAME TO THE HOUSE because I do everything I can to keep my mother diagnosis under control. The RN told me that when in hospice they expect the life expectancy of your loved one to be 6 months and my mother was at her 4 month mark with them. I said she's not terminal she has severe lung damage and I simply needed help with hygiene, a nurse to check her vitals and her 20 prescriptions to maintain her symptoms as I was unable to get her to her doctors any longer. I was on my own to get 90% of her prescriptions because TRUSTBRIDGE did not cover them. And a few telehealth apts with her primary care physician. Who was actually the one who recommended trustbridge. As far as TRUSTBRIDGE WAS CONCERNED I WAS REPEATEDLY TOLD BY HER NURSE Jesse "WE ARE HERE TO MAKE THEM COMFORTABLE ". I repeatedly told them she's not comfortable, she can't breath and she had throat problems from her thyroid disease , she couldn't swallow. Nothing was done. There was ZERO preventive care. None!!! And god forbid you took your loved one to the hospital, one time a little over 2 weeks ago my mom had severe chest pains and shortness of breath, I thought she was having a heart attack from a device she had implanted in her heart in August 2021 took her to Broward general, the following day a trustbridge person came to the hospital had a talk with the nurse and in 20 minutes mom was sent home. Again they wanted the money themselves. Forget about my moms health. If I tried to get help for her to recover from one of her non life threatening diseases, severe anemia, myasthenia gravis , severe fibrosis of her lungs, thyroid disease, I was on my own. They don't do preventative ANYTHING. Your loved one will die in their care. Then 3 days ago 12/19/21, Mom got very sick, we all had covid and my mom caught covid with pneumonia in just one day. I took her temperature and she had a fever, I called TRUSTBRIDGE To tell them she had covid as we all tested positive that day and they sent a nurse who said " she's fine she doesn't have a fever, the nurse left. I took her temp again and she had the same fever I took 2 hours prior. Again they did not want us to bring her to the hospital. I called them to say she was taken to Broward general hospital via paramedics at 10:30 pm. She had covid with pneumonia. 5-1/2 hours later at 4am someone from TRUSTBRIDGE called me IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT to have me sign a REVOCATION DOCUMENT SENT VIA EMAIL to have her release/Dismissed from their program. I printed the REVOCATION DOCUMENT out at 4:20AM and sent it back right then as ordered by this woman. The next day they wasted NO TIME wanting My mothers hospital bed, oxygen concentrator, wheel chair and oxygen tanks back. Wasted no time because they don't give a dam about your loved one, they care about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Thank The good lord I took my mother to the hospital because she is getting better and hopefully will be home for Christmas 2021. Had I not taken her as advised by TRUSTBRIDGE, she would be dead or dying. PLEASE do your research. There are other hospice palliative facilities and programs out there. Read all these reviews. I've read them all and every one with a negative review is basically what you will go through. BTW, my mother was on the "WILLOW TEAM" I am now going to report them to the joint commission on hospice care facilities. HORRIBLE!!! My father was referred to Trustcare Hospice for home. The nurse came to access him and advised us he did not qualify for any in home care at this time. My father was bedridden/bedbound with no bowel function control barley able to say two words and my 80 year old stepmother was unable to clean him or help him with bathroom issues. We were told that we could hire someone privately and pay for it because they did not feel he needed to be cleaned more than 2 times a week. When his breathing and pain was worse the nurse came out and said yes he was at the end but still did not qualify for nursing care! Two days later he was dead laying in his own filth because he did not qualify for nursing care!!! Every time she called they could not come out as he did not qualify! He had great insurance so that was not the problem! The nurse came out about an hour or more after being called because my stepmother thought he stopped breathing but she could not tell. The nurse showed up looked at him but did not go near him and said "yeah". He was never pronounced, BP taken, heart listened to breath sounds nothing was done to determine if he was dead and then the nurse asked what time did he die?!!!! There was absolutly NO CARE given to my father the entire10 days he was in their care!!! HE NEVER QUALIFIED FOR NURSING CARE PER THEIR GUIDELINES!!!! He died with no care from them and with my 80 year old stepmother alone with him without any guidelines other than ....here's the Morpine give it to him when he needs it.!!!! read more

So far not impressed. HUGE lack of communication. "Call our 24 hot line" for what? To be lied too? Waiting for a bath for three days (just started care this week) was told after 8 hours of no aide showing up that they didn't come because there's dogs here. Come on....the dogs can be kenneled. No excuse not to mention NO ONE called us to say an aid wasn't coming. The staff we have met do far have been great. This is not a rip on staff. This is a rip on the company as a whole. I was an HHA caring for a TrustBridge hospice patient who was on an oxygen concentrator 24/7 for many months that was supplied by TrustBridge. It is TB's responsibility to monitor and maintain these machines as the patient's life literally depends on him getting enough oxygen to breathe. These units have a service date written on a tag attached to them that requires they go in for regular maintenance and repair before this expiration date. One night I was awoken by a strange noise coming from the concentrator and I was concerned it might not be supplying enough oxygen to my patient. As I was checking the unit I noticed the service date that the machine should have been taken in for maintenance had expired FOUR months ago - No wonder it was making funny noises ! When this was brought to TB's attention it took them FIVE more machines before they could supply us with one that delivered enough oxygen and wasn't past or very close to it's service expiration date. That just shouldn't happen and in my opinion shows nobody is keeping track of the maintenance on these units. I have cared for other patients from different hospice organizations so this is not my first rodeo but I have never seen such poor maintenance on equipment as I did from TB. When this and other serious patient care problems were brought to the attention of TBs CEO and Chairman they basically just blew it off and acted like they really didn't care. In my opinion they were mainly just interested in bottom line cost saving issues and not the patient. read more

I was taken to Trustbridge Hospice after Good Samaritan almost killed and robbed me. They were wonderful‼ I had a lovely private room with large garden view. It was cold until I found the AC in my room could be adjusted and even turned off. There was a convertible chair if someone wished to stay overnight with me. If I asked for cold water they asked if I'd also like a cup of shaved ice. The food was very good and anyone can sample it at their open cafeteria. Keurig hot drinks and bottled water are always available in guest/TV room along with a refrigerator. I also had a countertop frig in my room. They took such great care of me and my open wound that I was released into my daughters' care after only 10 days. Now 2 years later I have the comfort of knowing that I'll be welcomed back‼ and never need to be in pain. This cancer, first removed in 1993 with my left kidney and now entrenched in my pancreas, will get me but in the meantime I'm functioning very well. I've had time to "get my affairs in order," resolve old conflicts, enjoy my adult children, drive to lunches with friends, have long walks and talks, take my dogs to the beach, enjoy my life to it's fullest. Thank you so much Trustbridge and Hospice. You gave me such reassurance that there is a good death! and then gave me the time to fully appreciate my blessed life!!! I wish I had read a few more reviews, because the one that said, "They only care about signing you up" was absolutely correct. My father had stage 4 throat cancer, had a laryngectomy and eventually a feeding tube. My father beat covid-19 but had pneumonia that needed constant suctioning and care that only my fiance and myself provided for my father's 2 year battle. We signed with Trustbridge only because my father could no longer go to his own doctor and we could have some help with bathing ect. We received almost no help, 3 times (including the last 2 hours if his life) were spent in the back of an ambulance because of "shift change"... The ambulance pulled out his feeding tube once and said it was fine and 6 hours later my father's stomach was about to explode because of it collecting inside of him. In the night he passed they brought him in green and bloated and already clinically dead. I sat for 3 hours with my father like that. To add insult to injury they never called to pick up all their equipment, 20 days after my father passed I got tired of looking at the death accecories collecting dust in my precious father's room. I wish I could give 0 stars... I was seduced by the first meeting and a name- please don't make the same mistake I did. I am waiting for some kind of explanation as to how and why my father was not brought immediately home after discharge (Trustbridge called at 6:00pm to make sure he was here...he didn't get home until 8:15pm and "shift change" is their only reason)...I wouldn't trust them with a dog I didn't like, let alone the only family I have left on this planet. My niece was died from breast cancer. I went with Trustbridge to help Me at home. She suddenly became in terrible pain. I called the nurse Sunday night she came and told me pain medication would arrive Monday morning and a nurse would come to administer it to her. The nurse came at approx 1 PM. No medication arrived My niece suffered all day waiting fir the meds. The nurse couldn't do anything fir her because she was threshing in the bed crying with pain and we couldn't keep her on the bed. My son, niece and his wife came approx 4PM. Together the 4 of them were able to put her on the bed. The meds arrived approx 6PM. The nurse in ally was able to sedate her. The hospital bed arrived approx 6:30PM. The nurse was changing shifts at 7. She couldn't wait for the nurse to arrive and tried to transfer her to the hospital bed with the delivery man. I had just walked out of the room when I heard a tremendous crash they dropped niece on my marble floor. The screamed at me don't call 911. I was hysterical seeing her on the floor and the both of them screaming at me. At 7 the replacement nurse arrived. Approx 7:30 my niece died. These people denied what they did. They claimed they placed her in the floor to get a better grip on her. I will never forget the crash I heard and seeing her on the floor between the two beds. While Trustbridge /Hospice tries to give the impression with it's TV ads that it's main interest is its patients, this is NOT what I experienced! In my greatest hour of need for nursing care for my loved one who was passing away in front of me, Trustbridge did not have sufficient nurses available to administer pain killing drugs abandoning me to sit with the patient 24 hrs. Was that poor planning, poor management or their concern for their bottom line by not having enough nurses as they promised ?!?!??!? read more

My wife had hospice at home for 19 days, until she passed. The staff is very professional. They are there for the patient as well as the family. I entrusted the care of both my mother in 2007 and my mother-in-law in 2012 to Hospice of Palm Beach County. Our family's experience was so wonderful, with two completely different situations to draw from. My mother, in constant denial about her terminal illness, would not consent to hospice until the bitter end. We knew it was right for her and from all we heard, they would help her through this process. Mom would not hear of it. She thought she was going to beat the cancer. We now wish we had called sooner. Mom continued to decline and went through a great deal of pain and fear that I believe could have been avoided. Finally mom was hospitalized and after a couple of days, she was unresponsive. Her breathing was labored and she just seemed to be uncomfortable. When hospice was suggested and called, it was 10:00pm or so on a Friday. I didn't know what to expect, because it was so late and on the heels of a weekend. Hospice of Palm Beach County sent a nurse to meet me at the hospital within 30 minutes. I was shocked! They made a difficult decision and the process very easy for me. Mom was transported to their inpatient unit at the Gerstenberg Center on 45th Street. Mom's nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains, music therapists and physicians were angels!!! They put me at ease from the first minute, but more importantly they put Mom at ease. Yes, I know she was non-responsive, but within an hour of her being there, you could see she was comfortable. Her breathing was not labored, she was not moaning in pain. She looked like the Mom I always remembered. They bathed her with care and took care of her as though she was awake and watching them; like she was their own mother. It was beautiful to see. They let me come to the inpatient center any time of day or night to sit with Mom, often checking on me to see how I was doing. It took a long while to realize I was their patient too. They were taking care of me, as much as Mom. It was a beautiful, enriching experience I would want for anyone and everyone. My Mother-In-Law's (Mom 2) experience was so different, but so similar. She knew of the care my Mom received and opted to call the same hospice, Hospice of Palm Beach County much sooner, as it became increasingly difficult for my Father-In-Law to care for her. Mom 2 was at home. Hospice scheduled their appointment around my wife's family's schedules to meet and answer their questions. It was a scary time for them, but it was made so easy by their Admissions Nurse. She never rushed them and never made them give up anything they wanted. Hospice made it very clear that Mom 2 was always in control of what happened to her. Mom 2 was adamant that she was not going to go to a hospital to die, not going to a nursing home and not going to an assisted living facility. The Hospice Nurse said, then that was what was going to happen. They would do all they could to keep her at home...and they did. Mom 2 had the most caring and compassionate caregivers anyone could hope for. They treated her like the lady she was. They bathed her, they talked with her, they sang to her, they prayed with her, they even had a massage therapist come in to relieve her pain, they saw to it that she received communion, they answered every question and yes, they held their promise; Mom 2 was always in control and in charge of what happened. Mom 2 and Dad 2 truly felt they had additional family there to help them each day. Morning, noon or night, questions were answered and support was given. Mom 2 had the benefit of this wondrous care for over 3 months, before she passed peacefully in her own home, as she wished. When hospice was called, a social worker came out at midnight, to help us all through her death. Mom 2 was ready and so was our family because of all the preparation Hospice gave us. So Mom and Mom 2 had different experiences, because one was at their facility and one was home; one was unresponsive and one was "in charge"; but they both received the same wonderful care and compassion. I cannot say enough about what Hospice of Palm Beach County did for our family. They worked with us every step of the way, removing fear, pain, concern and just the plain unknown. I waited to post this review so I could put my thoughts together. I needed to share my awful experience I had dealing with this company. My mother was under their care for only 3 months. I am convinced that the medication that the Hospice MD prescribed to her for her agitation led to her untimely death. I am disgusted and angry concerning the lack of comfort she received. I agree with other negative reviews that Trustbridge made my mom's passing difficult and stressful not only for her but for me. My mom lived in an assisted living residential group home who contacted Trustbridge when my mom was having difficulty breathing all of a sudden. The so-called RN came and examined her and told me she was stable and ordered cough medication and breathing treatments. I asked if she need to be on crisis care and she said no. I saw my mom a few hours later that day and it was obvious to me she was in the process of dying. I don't understand how this so-called RN could not see this. The assisted living called several times the next day to inform Trustbridge of my mom's decline and they could not get through to anyone. My poor mom passed away that day alone. I have nightmares and such anger toward this awful company. They should be ashamed of themselves for what my mom went through, suffering for no reason and the lack of care and comfort they did not give her at the end of her life. I did speak with Kathleen McCallister who I was told was the contact person at Trustbridge regarding my frustration with what happened with my mom, and she said she would call me back in a few days.That was over 2 weeks ago and she still has not called me back. This company should look at their mission statement, because what it says is not true. read more

This has to be the worst hospice provider in the country. They were unprofessional, disrespectful, insensitive, and incompetent. At first I thought it was a bad employee, but then I realized it's their way of doing business and the result of bad hiring decisions. There's no other explanation. Let me provide a few examples. The admission nurse failed to admit my mom within 24 hours of conducting a 4 hr house visit to gather information. Trustbridge couldn't even locate the notes taken by the admission nurse. It had to be done all over again. On the first day, the case manager that was assigned to my mom opened the front door and walked into the house without knocking. Then, proceeded to tell me she did not care what my mom's blood sugar was, and that if my mom wanted a piece of cake she was going to give it to her, unless her sugar was 500. This statement was made knowing my mom was diabetic. On two separate occasions by two different nurses, each of them informed the family they would come on Friday, but neither showed up or called. One of the nurses was named Moede. Further, every time a new nurse came to the house we received a different version of what constituted "crisis care". Utimately, 15 different nurses provided 15 different takes of what crises management was. Only to later be told my mom can't be placed in the program because they had staffing issues. Also, during a house visit that came about from me calling their call center to inform them that my mom could no longer swallow her medication, the nurse that came to the house informed me that she suspected a UTI and proceeded to inform the doctor, who prescribed ciprofloxacin. Ciprofloxacin is a humungous pill 50 times the size of the pill she couldn't swallow that same morning. I informed them it was insane and pathetic for them to prescribe a pill that large when I had conveyed to them she had gotten to the point of not being able to swallow any more. However, this resulted in absolutely no action on their part. It was as if they didn't know what they were doing. I call it having a lack of basic common sense. They never followed up on the suspected UTI they thought my mom had. These are just a few examples....I finally called another hospice provider to have my mom transferred. Stay away from Trustbridge, they sell you a bill of goods they have no intentions on delivering because they can't execute due to complete incompetency. Lastly, I informed Moede, the last nurse assigned to my mom, that she had fallen off her recliner, but Moede made no effort to evaluate her arm nor showed any concern whatsoever. Moede's only interest was to argue with the family. Instead on focusing on my mom's care, Moede wanted to argue. Another example, one of the nurses erroneously deleted my mom's medication from her file. The same medication that was prescribed just two days prior. This could very easily have resulted in a fatal cocktail of two drugs that can't be combined. Trustbridge never gave explanations for all the wrong they did. They only made excuses and tried to cover their ass out of fear of legal action. The incompetent nurses that took care of my mom are Andy (aka Andreka), Marlene, Shaneice, Moede, and the admission nurse Shelley. Not to mention all the other nurses that I failed to acquire the names of. They all belong to the terrible Sunshine Team. God help all the hospice patients under their care, and their families who will be neglected and lied too. read more

I am sorely disappointed by our experience with hospice in Palm Beach County (now called trustbridge). Their lack of communication, consistency, and sense of caring has been very disconcerting. For years Matt Lauer has been on local TV praising the services of hospice in Palm Beach County, now called trustbridge). In March, after my 94 year old grandmother suffered a stroke, we turned to trustbridge. Grandma has 2 great aides providing care 24/7 and we hoped that the addition of hospice would be a wonderful partner in her care. After initially providing her with equipment, their services have been totally disappointing. Nurses have been changing week to week so there is no consistency nor has there been any communication with us. We knew that she had to be recertified for services after 3 months & didn't find out that occurred until after we to called to express our dismay with their lack of communication. We are supposed to have a team leader & a nurse on our "Opal Team" but have not heard from them in months. There is no team other than in name only. After calling to express our misgivings it took 2 calls 2 be told our nurse was on leave & not expected back for several weeks. When we asked that whatever nurse covering her call to advise of times for her visit, the response was they would put that on her chart. I feel that trustbridge has betrayed my family's trust and are very disappointed in the lack of communication and care they have demonstrated with my grandmother. read more

They deserve 0 stars! I hired TrustBridge (also known as Hospice by the Sea) for in-home hospice care for my husband in December, 2017. They were completely non-responsive and negligent. Medical equipment & supplies arrived in a timely manner including a bag of medications; no instructions or training were provided. I called TrustBridge the following morning when my husband was extremely congested and having difficulty breathing. I was confused and panicked as I rifled through the bag of medications. When I didn't understand her instructions, she started laughing. He was never examined by a physician. His case manager came twice the first week; she was non-existent after that. There were only 2 nurse visits over the course of 2 weeks. After he fell late one evening getting out of bed, TrustBridge told me to call Fire Rescue. He was completely bedridden after that fall. It took 2 days for a nurse to come. She didn't even examine him. I pleaded for help and was told I would have to hire someone on my own. Thankfully, I transferred his care to Vitas. They immediately put him on 24-hour crisis care, addressed all the issues that TrustBridge completely ignored. He had terrible bed sores, something TrustBridge wasn't even aware of since they never checked him. I can't say enough good things about Vitas; they were outstanding on every level. Even after he passed away in the wee hours, the nurse was so compassionate and caring. I highly recommend Vitas. It has taken me a year to write this review. My dad was brought to this hospice on a Sunday and died on Wednesday. I'm so thankful he went quickly. The nursing staff was wonderful and deserve 5 stars and the cafeteria was great. The level of the staff compassion was unbeatable. My problem with this place comes from the fact that my sister and I were told right away that hearing is the last sense to go. What upset us is that the doctor came in and spoke right in front of dad, clearly showing no regard for dad's mental well-being. It was kept extremely cold in the room. I was so cold and wrapped up in a blanket that I couldn't even tell the doctor to speak outside. That has haunted my for the past year and I pray that my dad didn't hear that doctor say he was going to die soon. The room was completely bare and sterile. I expected some homey touches, but it was exactly like a hospital room without the machines. There is no accommodation for the family. We stayed 24 hours a day. Now i don't expect a hotel, but roll-away cots would be most helpful. You're literally on a death watch and having to contort your body into a chair to sleep is just horrible when your exhausted and waiting for inevitable. Taking care of the living is just as important as taking care of the dying when you're in a hospice facility. read more

It has taken me this long to finally write a review for the hospice services we used when my elderly parent passed away 2.5 years ago in Delray Beach Fl. Had my other surviving parent and sibling knew how uncaring, impersonal, and simply unprofessional Hospice of Palm Beach County was we would have *never* called them for hospice services. In a nutshell: * Useless, uncommunicative, and unprofessional social worker who had no people skills let alone skills dealing with relatives of dying patient. * No real understanding of how much pain my parent was in during last week and hence very little morphine administered. They failed to follow up on my parent until my sibling asked them to check up on on my dying parent. * Poor communication with the staff in the health center my parent was staying in. And the clinchers: *On the day my parent passed away (I was there), the hospice sent in a non-stop yapping "hospice nurse" who did not allow my other parent and myself to spend time with my dying parent. This nurse talked *non-stop* throughout the day about herself and her problems. We could not handle her behavior. If I had it more together I would have told to leave the room. * My parent died around midnite that nite. My other parent, sibliling nor I was not with my parent at death.The hospice nurse did not call us. Only the health center nurse called me 5 minutes after my parent died. My other parent and I went immediately to the health center which was 5 minutes away. We walked into the room where my dead parent was lying in bed and the "hospice" nurse...(not a nurse..apparently but some college kid who they hired) was actually doing her homework with her feet up on chair watching TV next to my DEAD parent (who had just died 5 minutes before) who was lying in bed.This "hospice worker" looked surprised as though we caught her doing something. I forcefully told her to SHUT OFF THE TV AND GET OUT. The heath center nurse was so upset about the hospice care my parent had received that she began to cry. Hospice of Palm Beach County should be ashamed of themselves. I feel for anyone else who was subjected to their uncaring and appalling treatment of any other dying relative. read more

Unfortunately, I have had the opportunity to deal with this establishment and do not recommend anyone else succumb their loved one or family members to the insensitive encounters I experienced. My mother-in-law received horrible care from this hospice (as well as from other caregivers) and the family members who reported this were told not to be with their loved one at the end. The people involved with this hospice are incompetent, not professional, uncaring and rude. You and your loved one deserve better. read more
