She would talk over me, cut me off and wasn't pleasant one bit. I told her I had to discuss things with the family and contact their office later. Before I could finish thanking her, she hung up! Realistically, lawyers are a dime a dozen here. When your emails and phone calls disappear into a void, it's hard to have confidence that the office staff on the other end are performing their other duties in a diligent fashion. The Abrams firm was always on the ball about returning and answering phone calls and emails in a timely fashion. Next there was the actual experience of interfacing at their office. They are located in downtown in a pleasantly-appointed one-story office. The Wall Street Journals in the waiting room may be a few weeks old, but you won't spend too much time sitting there. Michelle Abrams has a congenial and professional demeanor, and is able to answer any and all questions in great detail. There is no sensation of being rushed into or through anything, and while the questions posed (who gets your stuff when you die? how bad do you want it to get before they pull the plug on you?) are heavy, she provides a relaxing environment in which to discuss them, and is able to explain the options clearly and in plain language. All in all, a very satisfactory experience for a process that we may not enjoy, but need to pursue to be prepared for the inevitable.

Well, today I called back just curious to see how the phone call would go, and there was no decent excuse provided about why I didn't hear back. When I advised about my second call, being told they don't handle probate, the woman said no, he handles family law, and actually said maybe he changed his practice!?!?? Huh? Then she asked if I wanted to have someone call me back and I told her heck no, why, so I can continue to wait for someone who may or may not handle probate call me? I gave them two chances already. And still no response from my email! This is NOT how to conduct a business! Needless to say, I do not recommend them.
