Had a good experience from the staff to the food. This was the perfect spot for a quick brunch. We got there around 12 and were able to be seated immediately. We opted for the bottomless brunch and it's truly bottomless, food and drink. You get 90mins bottomless mimosas and bottomless items from the brunch menu. We had two carafes of mimosas which aren't your typical oj and champagne, I think these mimosas have a oj and mango mix which tasted amazing! For food we had ackee and salt fish, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and jerk steak and eggs. Each and every dish tasted great 10s across the board.

Update! Thank you, Roderick for inviting me to try the brunch. This Caribbean Lounge has a brunch on Sunday. It was fantastic. This was a Sunday's Brunch, so the ambiance gave be a dress up day, but many came dressed down. Our waitress Vanessa (I may have spelled it wrong) was as thorough as can be and very professional. She explained the menu leaving no doubt. What was in the table for $49. Endless mimosa's *Porridge *Jerk steak & egg w/ hash browns * Jerk steak & egg w/ rice n peas The porridge was delicious with a cinnamon kick. I think I missed the word Jerk in the steak and egg. This was spicy y'all. That's not a bad thing either, it's just a preference. * Shrimp and Grits this buttery dish was cooked to perfection. Many people that attempted this dis has it too think or with lumps. * Chicken and Waffles. I have never heard or tried dish until I moved to NYC. This was a really good dish, the waffle had the right tenderness. I was given a Father's Day gift, I was blown away, totally unexpected. The menu says gratuity not included but it is added onto the bill, which is big disservice to the waitresses. But no complaints!

This is always my go to place! I come here over and over and it never disappoints. I love the food, although I am always getting the pasta. One time the lobster didn't taste well but I feel it was the catch. The service is usually good no complaints. And I love to arrive early where I get the old school reggae vibes.

Great for happy hour. Good options in the menu. The service was good, drinks were nice and strong I loved the presentation. The food was decent and the vibes were good. I would come back here for a quick drink after work.

Local spot with local vibe. I've been here many times for drinks but today I tried the food. I had the pepper shrimp, roasted potatoes and fried whiting. The potatoes were really delicious coated in a light salt seasoning and the pepper shrimp were good, not really spicy at all but still good. We also had the brown stewed snapper which was great but the rice was from the bottom of the pot so the staff quickly subbed for vegetables when we advised them of this. The bar tenders are always great and attentive. Drinks are good.

In a last minute detour after work and because I didn't want to cook decided to go where I knew the food would be good and the vibe just right. Great Happy Hour options available and for those who doing dry January Mocktails are on point. Servers were attentive and made for good conversation. Will be back again real soon.

Truth Restaurant is a cute spot to get quality food and drinks. The first time I went was for a friends birthday. The service was very tentative and the staff ensured we got our food quickly as we were very hungry. For starters we had a variety of wings and the calamari. For my main course I had the Curry Chicken which was peppered well and the white rice was so complimentry.

The food was absolutely amazing. The curry goat melted in my mouth. It had the right amount of seasoning and flavor. The cod fritters were okay. The rum punch was strong and nice. I see why it's popular. The ambiance was cool playing good reggae and R & B music.

Opening with the owner saved this review because if I had to speak on this restaurant based on the workers I'd give no stars. Owners your workers represent your business. Remind them of this. I had just landed at JFK from my vacation and was hungry. Living in NJ I saw traffic was bad so I decided to kill some time getting food. Yelp helped me find this establishment. Upon entry there was no greeting. It wasn't busy but there were patrons present. Walked to the bar to place a to go order. It took about 10 minutes to be acknowledged with a hello or a menu. Once we decided in 5 minutes what we wanted it took another 10 to place the order. We ordered oxtails, jerk chicken and Mac n cheese. The order was taken wrong but the owner corrected it. It took 30 minutes to get food that's already prepared. I don't understand it. There were plenty of workers. The oxtails were tender and flavorful. The rice n peas were just ok. The jerk chicken tasted like where's the jerk? It was jerk bbq and that's not jerk chicken for me. The Mac n cheese: .... My three stars is for the owner. He was very friendly and attentive. Great conversation.

Apparently Sunday Brunch is their best kept secret! Of all the times I've been here solely thinking of this place as a late night wing spot with good drinks, DJ and a dance floor...come to find out on Sundays they have 90 mins of ALL YOU CAN EAT BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS for $50! Heres how it goes. For starters you get a complimentary cornmeal porridge which tastes AMAZZIINNGGGG!! Mimosas start pouring and You can order TWO meals at time. If you happen to finish one then order another to replace it and so on for 90 minutes. It was 3 of us so between us we ate everything on the menu. Everything is absolutely delicious EXCEPT for the shrimp n grits. It's garlic butter shrimp and it wasn't appealing to us. The server was kind enough to give us a remake but it just didn't do it for us. I wouldn't recommend . What I would recommend...the ackee n saltfish. They don't skimp on the ackee!! The festival AND fried breadfruit! IYKYK that breadfruit is not common now a days so I was pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu. The chicken and waffles was really good. Chicken ever so slightly under seasoned but honestly still bomb and I would order again. My cousins loved their rundown mackerel, the liver and said the oxtail was very tender which came with grits (an additional $10) We came at 1245 and we were the only ones there. By 2pm there were maybe only 4 other parties there. idk if it was just because of the rain or if it's usually this empty on Sunday but I know you will absolutely catch me here more on Sundays with this going on!

If you haven't tried Truth Restaurant as yet, you are missing out. Their rundown snapper is to die for. It has pumpkin, carrots, onions and peppers, sauted in coconut milk and seasoned to the gawds. It comes with sides but you really don't need it. Their honey wings are also delicious and the green plantains.

We indulged in the happy hour menu which has a good deal of options and the price is really good. The drinks and food are all $8.95 with the exception of 2 food items which are $9.95, still a good price. We had the passion fruit martini and margarita- both were good and not watered down. For food we had the yummy sticky wings, champagne mussels, fried chicken dumplings, and crab dip nachos. The champagne mussels were amazing! That sauce is to die for. The wings were good. The crab dip was tasty but I think it's a little too watery. The chicken dumplings were okay, nothing special. Only recommendation to management /DJs is to turn the music down just a tad. My boyfriend suggested we come here after a long day at work to relax, eat, and watch the basketball game. To be fair, the music was good and we were greeted and seated immediately, so initially everything seemed fine. Unfortunately, things went downhill very quickly. I ordered a Caesar salad with salmon, and there was a ROACH in the food. Not near the plate. But crawling FROM my the salad. Completely unacceptable and honestly disturbing. The waitress apologized and offered to remake it free of charge. At that point I should have left, but I tried to give the place the benefit of the doubt and stayed. Then the bill came and they STILL charged me for the salad with the roach in it. That alone told me everything I needed to know about the level of professionalism and sanitation standards here. Between the unsanitary food preparation, unproportioned BBLS, and the overall atmosphere, I would never trust this establishment again. First and absolutely last time coming here

On the night I attained Alpha Phi Alpha grate Tony was having an after work mixer. While it wasn't closed off to this event, most of the patrons were their guests. The crowd was mostly grown and sexy. While some folks had on suits, others were more relaxed. Bar tenders were cute and well dressed and kept things flowing and the dj kept us moving.
