My server was Alba and it was her first week when I came (back in April ). If this was her first week, I couldn't tell. She was so professional, genuine and honestly just nice. She gave good recommendations and was sweet. Like I said we came at the tail end of happy hour and she kept coming back to make sure we got enough happy hour specials. Definitely a good server. Ask for We ended up catching the tail end of happy hour and were able to get some bites at a good price. The birria empanadas were pretty good and this is coming from someone who isn't a birria fan at all. The mango pineapple wings were very good and flavorful. But the other oxtails stole the show. I'll give it 3 two for the bartender and one for the food because both the bartender Andre and food were amazing . But the tall sloppy old hag in the front pissed me off more than 3 times while I was here. I always have a bad experience here off service . Bartender did his thing he was great but the lady in the front kept inserting herself where it didn't concern here. She asked if we were sitting with the people we were next to at the bar why does that matter ? Then I had a vape on the table cause I keep going outside for smoke breaks and she said I have to put it away. Girl stop concerning yourself i now don't wanna drink eat or do anything else here . Good spot with a great atmosphere and well-done decor. The food was good; not necessarily anything I'd go out of my way for, but definitely a solid meal. Drinks were okay, and the staff was friendly throughout my visit. The biggest downside was the speed of service. It took nearly 30 minutes just to order a drink and another 30 minutes to get my check, which was frustrating, especially since I was sitting at the bar. I was just there on 6/16 just around opening time and the prices that we were charged at the restaurant do not match what is currently posted on their website. Not a deal breaker but i like to know what Im getting myself into when I check out a new restairant. We were charged $30 for the shrimp and grits but the online menu says $28. To add oxtail we were charged an additional $14, not $9 as it says online. We were charged $15 for the mocktails, not the $14 so be prepared to pay a little more than what is currently being displayed on the website. Please also be advised that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to parties of 2 or more, yes 2 or more. I wouldn't have minded for the party of 4 that i was just with but the service was basically just the bare minimum. I think we can agree that the industry baseline is 18% for standard service. I just feel like if youre going to going automatically impose a 20% gratuity, then the service should be above standard, just a little bit, but it wasnt. We arrived around 11:30 AM, not too long after opening and were probably one of the first, if not the first patrons of the day so it was definitely not busy. We did not receive the service that other reviewers have been raving about (probably a different server). To be automatically charged a 20% gratuity you would think that she would have been more attentive, friendly and communicative. By the way,a bottle of stilled water is $10 that only fills 4 glasses. The food was decent but not worth the prices. The 3 pieces of lamb chops, 5 pieces of asparagus and a side of mashed potatoes was not worth the $45. It wasnt horrible but it didnt blow my mind either. While the restaurant has an upscale atmosphere, it does not match the neighborhood. I would say this is a good place for drinks and apps. I say that because each Entree we had was just ok nothing to rave about. My fiancé had steak and fries the fries were over seasoned and the steak under seasoned. They also didn't cook the steak properly and we sent it back twice. I got oxtail and mac and cheese. The oxtail were flavorful but the mac and cheese was way too greasy in my opinion. The drinks however ! Mixed well and strong. We also had wings which were good. The calamari was too chewy. The ambiance and servers are excellent! Very attentive and knowledgeable. The ambiance is cute but the space itself is relatively small so you will be close to other people. Nicely decorated space, the green feels luxe (I could be biased here). It's not a big space, though they did accommodate groups while on my visit. I'd do a casual date night/gno here. The music was good (mix of Caribbean and r&b while I was there) The music isn't too loud so you can have conversation while also not in others conversation. There wasn't a dj on this particular night, but they usually have one. I recently came here for a family dinner with my siblings, and we had such a great time. The vibe at 32 North was exactly what we were looking for. Great music, strong drinks, delicious food, and an energetic atmosphere that made for a really fun night out. The cocktails were fantastic and definitely didn't skimp on the alcohol. Everything we ordered was flavorful, well-prepared, and arrived looking just as good as it tasted. From the wings and salmon to the French toast and short rib mac and cheese, every dish that hit our table was a winner. It's not often that a group orders this many different items and everyone walks away happy, but that was definitely the case here. Our waitress was awesome and took excellent care of us throughout the evening. She was friendly, attentive, and helped keep everything running smoothly despite how busy the restaurant was. The only downside was our interaction with the hostess, who came across a bit pushy. Thankfully, once we were seated, we didn't have to deal with her much and the rest of the staff more than made up for it. Hidden gem in Valley Stream. Parking is a bit tight, but we got lucky to find a place across the street. Street is quite busy, being on central at rush hour. We found two seats at the bar. I really enjoyed brunch here. This is located right next to the CVS. Parking is on the street, but not hard to find a spot. When you come in your are greeted by the hostess and there is a waiting area if needed. The place is not big but you don't feel cramped. We sat on one the hightop tables. When you make a reservation you will be told what table you reserved. The hightops are close to the bar but there is good enough space between tables. The seats are also comfortable. Seating is for 90 minutes, which makes sense since this is a popular brunch spot. Our waitress was Ashley she was nice and helped us choose the drinks. The food, drinks, and the ambiance are the stars of this place. Their signature chicken wings are really good and they give you enough to share. They were fried to a good crisp and had the right amount of glaze. Not too saucy that it would be messy. The calamari was great as well and was battered perfectly. I ordered the creme rules french toast and it was a good portion. Couldn't finish the whole thing. I also ordered the bacon on the side. It was crispy and they give you enough that you can share. My friends enjoyed their chicken and waffles. The drinks are just as good. They are flavorful and strong. They are worth the price. You really don't need more than 2. My friends and I were in the area and made last minute reservations for brunch. When we arrived the foyer was packed with customers waiting to be seated. The foyer is a bit on the narrow side so it seemed more packed than it really was. Our reservation was for 3:45pm and we were seated at 4:15pm. The hostess was informative and apologetic about the wait. It was due to the rain and a bunch of large parties. The restaurant is also on the smaller side. As you entered the music is booming and the crowd is lively. There is a bar with about ten seats and enough tables to accommodate 40-50 ppl. Could be more but the point I'm trying to make is it's not a huge space. We were seated at a high top table and I noticed a sign that said 90 min time limit for the table. I also went to the bathroom to wash my hands and it was super spacious and clean. Once seated a few minutes later our server Dwayne came over to take our order. We told him we were on a tight schedule and he understood the assignment. We placed our order and only had to wait about 15 mins before the food started coming out. We ordered the calamari, mac and cheese added oxtail, Baileys chicken and waffles, shrimp tempura, honey garlic wings and a bottle of still water. The food was super delicious. The calamari was crispy and the sauce that came with it was sooo good. It was like a cross between cocktail and chili sauce. The mac was creamy with the perfect crust and the tender oxtail was chefs kiss. I usually don't like chicken and waffles cause the waffle is usually flavorless and cold. But 32 North cracked the code. Dare I say it's one of the best waffles I've had in my life. Nice and fluffy and the infused Baileys just took the flavor profile up so many notches. The fried chicken that came with the waffles complimented them just right. The honey garlic wings fried to perfection, intentionally seasoned and evenly coated. The shrimp tempura was the only item that was mid. It wasn't horrible just not memorable like the rest of the items we ordered. The whole time I'm eating I'm like I'll for sure be returning. I am so pleased to write this glowing review of this great Trinidadian-owned restaurant serving up a new take on Caribbean classic and brunch favorites. It important for to give them their culinary flowers during Black History Month 2025. The food is stellar here with shining star being the Oxtail Mac & Cheese. The Mac & Cheese is gooey with generous amounts of cheese through the dish with a good amount of tender & flavorful oxtails on top. I must point out that they didn't forget the gravy. I already planned my next trip back to get another order of it! Shoutout to Shandel, the best server in the restaurant who has the perfect personality and work ethic for this position. I had the pleasure of celebrating our birthdays together amidst Capricorn season. I would also like to take the time to point out that this is a smaller restaurant with 1-2 servers and bartender so bring your patience and dont bring your annoying friends here. The vibes were 10 out of 10 for me! The DJ went from old school reggae to new school soca effortlessly while sprinkling in some hip-hop. Lol Thanks to one of my favorite Capricorns the girls and I stepped into 32 North on the last Saturday of "24" for drinks. My homegirl came across it on IG and wanted to give them a try. I'm always skeptical of the aesthetically pleasing IG spots, because they are a hit or miss (many times misses IMO). However, I was cool with checking them out because we weren't ready for the night to end just yet. Since this was an impromptu stop we were only grabbing drinks to toast the bday girl. I am happy to say I was pleasantly surprised that 32 North was not just IG Hype. We fell in love with the decor, the vibe, the tunes, the service and the drinks. One thing to note is that the restaurant has a 90-minute dining limit. This was my first time experiencing a time limit at a restaurant, so it felt a bit rushed at times. For appetizers, the Honey Garlic wings were very flavorful and cooked perfectly. I saw this restaurant in social media when they first opened and was eager to go. I finally made there for a girls brunch. I understood the restaurant was small but the entrance/hostess area was uncomfortably tight. We arrived on a rainy Saturday about 15 mins before our reservation. There were about 8 other people in addition to my party of 3. We were pretty squeezed in the waiting area which is an enclosed, what feels like a hallway. Brittany was the hostess and really tried her best to please the waiting and increasingly angered crowd. We asked to sit at the bar while we waited for our table, which may be a while as the restaurant overbooked reservations. We're her advised that there is no standing allowed at the bar. I understood why once we made it in and saw the space. We eventually made it to the bar and Andre our bartender made our drinks and kept us company. He was very pleasant and made good drinks. My only complaint was the glasses were too small. We were finally seated about an hour/hour and a half after our original waiting time. To start we ordered honey garlic wings and the deviled eggs. I didn't eat the deviled eggs but did not hear by complaints. The wings were pretty amazing and even better for us, they brought out 2 orders and said we can keep the second on the house. For our meals we ordered the jerk shrimp + grits, crème brûlée French toast and the skillet Mac and cheese topped with oxtail. I personally ate the Mac and cheese and thought it was exceptionally made. The oxtail was well seasoned and cooked. The manager was also attentive and aware of the wait time. She was very pleasant. Brought my family here for Father's Day. Everyone was happy with the experience. The staff were courteous and definitely kept the energy going. The DJ was on point - playing music and reading the crowd. The food, scrumptious! The oxtail was so tender! Grits loaded with cheese and flavor! Steak and eggs were good (nothing to brag about). We were seated at a table for three and started with a variety of delicious appetizers, including jerk wings, shrimp tempura, and calamari. The cocktails were a highlight, with a standout old-fashioned. For dinner, I opted for the BLT chicken burger while my friends enjoyed the salmon entree and braised oxtail and grits. The DJ's lively music perfectly set the tone for a Sunday evening, and we ended up having a great time - we had initially planned to just grab apps and head out, but the atmosphere was so inviting that we decided to stay for the entire dinner course.
