From the start, the trainer (I believe her name was Christina) made me feel uneasy as it being my first time to a new studio in the area. During the class, I felt left out and singled out at the same time. I was met with snarky remarks about my stamina and how much I need to improve on what I have been doing thus far on my wellness journey. I left the class feeling unmotivated and quite insecure. This gym may still look similar from the outside, but the atmosphere has changed completely under…read morethe new ownership. What was once a relatively relaxed, comfortable place to exercise now feels more like a loud nightclub than a professional fitness facility. The music is frequently played at an unnecessarily high volume, making it difficult to concentrate, decompress, or enjoy a peaceful workout. Instead of creating an environment that feels welcoming and restorative, the constant pounding club music gives the entire space a chaotic, overstimulating quality. The change goes beyond the music. There is now a noticeable coldness in the way the gym is operated. Interactions with management feel unnecessarily rigid and confrontational, and the overall attitude is less focused on hospitality and more focused on enforcing corporate policies without consideration for the customer. I originally joined under the previous ownership with the understanding that I could pay my $50 membership fee monthly. When an attempted automatic charge did not process, I went into the gym on the day the payment was due and offered to pay in person. I was told that no balance was showing in the system and that there was nothing I could pay at that time. A few days later, the gym attempted to charge me $80, including a $30 fee related to the declined transaction. I explained that I had come in on time and tried to pay, but their own system and staff had prevented me from doing so. I was also never clearly informed that the terms of my original agreement had changed or that a declined automatic payment would result in such a substantial additional charge. Rather than calmly addressing the contradiction, management became defensive and seemed more interested in justifying the fee than preserving a positive relationship with a paying member. That interaction reflected the larger problem with this gym: it no longer feels like a place designed for people who want to improve their health in a comfortable, respectful atmosphere. It feels loud, impersonal, tense, and increasingly unpleasant. Anyone looking for a polished, peaceful, mature fitness environment may want to visit during peak hours before committing to a membership. Listen to the volume of the music, observe the atmosphere, and pay attention to how management communicates with members. There are simply too many well-run gyms available to spend time and money somewhere that leaves you feeling more agitated when you leave than when you arrived.

I didn't arrive late, however the girls at the front desk did not allow me to enter because "the room is dark and the instructor has to help you onto your spin bike". I've been to cycle bars where the front desk girls assist class attendees onto their bikes, so I was surprised by this policy. They said I'd have to wait for the spin portion to be over before allowing me in. However, the problem was that a woman arrived after me, 10 minutes late, and they allowed her right in and told her what bike she was on. I had friends inside the class who told me afterwards that this woman took the bike that I was supposedly assigned on; apparently my name was written above the bike. This leads me to believe that the front desk girls gave up my spot when I wasn't late, and covered it up with excuses to hide the fact that they have the bike up to someone who arrived late. I did partake in the strength and yoga portion of the class. I really enjoyed the instructor, her pacing, her demeanor, encouragement, attentiveness, and the way she lead the exercises. I would give her a 5 stars alone however I have to rate the experience based on the practice and the poor etiquette of the front desk girls. Still, I enjoyed the part I was allowed to partake in and I'd be open to returning to give it a real shot.
