70% of the equipment at this gym is broken or completely out of service, with rust everywhere and tears in the cushion pads on the equipment. Many of the machines have a ticket stating that they are scheduled for service, yet they never fix them. This place is dirty and just disgusting. All of the initiation fees and membership fees for what? Why doesn't the gym fix the equipment and keep the place clean? I don't understand the point of continuing to run a business without caring for it. It's truly disgusting. I'm not even going to say not to join this gym. This is one of the nicer La Fitness locations in the area. The equipment is pretty clean and the floors are clean too. Parking is plentiful, and after working out, I can shop at all the great stores in the plaza. The juice bar is not open early in the mornings, but they seem to have a healthy menu. Inside the gym area there are plenty of weights and weight machines. There is a spin class area, basketball court, raquet ball courts, and an area for personal training. I have noticed that some of the treadmills and bikes are periodically out of order, but they do seem to get fixed in a timely manner, and I can always find one that is available. read more

I went at 7pm and the gym was not crowded. They had a zumba class going on that looked pretty fun. The bathrooms and locker rooms were OK. Someone was just starting to clean when I was leaving. They have a juicebar at the gum but it's location in a mall area so there are options available out side the gym as well. read more

Have been going here for years do to lack of options of an old school traditional gym. The space is decent, but the equipment is always broken.... One of the back extension machines even broke in the middle of using it. Cable machines are and have been broken for weeks. Toilet in men's room has been broken for months. Weights are never organized or put back in proper spot. They have multiple people working at front desk that don't walk around cleaning up organizing weights. Just gets beyond frustrating that everything is always broken or breaking... in terms of the space itself, it's one of my favs compared to the 5 others u have been to as a one off, and does have some good equipment, it's just the fact that' it is always broken. read more

I've been to several gyms, and while LA Fitness in Delray Beach has a decent layout and selection of equipment, I think it falls short in maintenance and cleanliness. Many of the machines are overdue for a deep cleaning, which can make using them feel less inviting. Additionally, several machines need servicing. In this picture alone, there are 6 broken machines . With a bit more attention to upkeep, this gym could be a much better experience overall. For now, I'd say it's just okay, but there's definitely room for improvement. read more

ABM Kabir their Membership Director provided the worst possible experience I have ever been a part of in any place of business. My fiance and I downloaded a guest pass online and came to the La fitness in Delray Beach. Abm was overly aggressive in mentioning we sign up or pay for the day since we are non residents to Florida. I explained that we signed the waiver online and the guest pass waiver where it does not mention any non residential limitations and he disregarded us completely. (two separate waivers that do not include any limitations) After expressing his frustration he said we would only receive a day and that contracts and waiver are not only right. Most people avoid fitness clubs. I am like most people because I hate feeling like I am being watched by people who have nothing better to do. However, the LA fitness here is pretty awesome. I have a personal trainer for a few months to get me where I want to be. It's not about weight-loss but overall healthiness. They are clean and have a lot of great machines and classes. Was a member here for a couple of years and it was convenient to be able to visit locations pretty much everywhere they existed. However, this particular location is a disaster. A common theme is 80% of the stair steppers being broken, much of the equipment in disrepair due to age and lack of maintenance, dirty facilities, majority of attachments missing from most of missing from all cable equipment, broken bathroom facilities, and general disorganization to the point where it's often hard to find matching dumbbells. Probably the worst part is that every single sanitation station regularly is out of wipes, which leads to people, not cleaning the equipment that is sweat upon profusely. Interestingly, staff has an answer for everything; Equipment is leased, rent is expensive, membership fee is low, electricity is expensive, etc. Hardly excuses that a good management team would use. Things are always expensive, which is why they call them expenses I'm business. That shouldn't make it ok to provide an unsanitary environment with equipment that is subpar. Also, beware of the hidden fees and HARD pitch to sign up for training. Only one or two trainers have been there for an extended period of time. Overall, every other place is better. Don't waste your money or time with this company, but more specifically this location in Delray Beach. read more

They SCAMMED my 80 year old father and his senior wife and friend into some nonsense gym trainer contract he didn't even want and then lied to him in order to get him to check a mark on a computer, lied that it was a 30 day contract; which after the fact turned out to be a year long contract after my father informed MATT he was not interested in a year long contract which was why MATT OFFERED A 30 DAY CONTRACT. He said don't worry about it, don't worry about it and you don't need to look since it was just a 30 day contract with teeny tiny print. MATT harassed my father, my mother and their friend and lied to them about this contract and was like "no no no cancel anytime and only 30 days only days and if you don't want to continue the program then that's it." He kept calling and calling and calling being like special offer and no worries cancel anytime. So my dad and his friend were like sure why not just try it out and they were fine with the program, it was a fine program; but they not interested so at the end of the 30 days they informed MATT that they had no desire to continue the personal trainer program and asked him to honor his word like he said he would and the contract they had been told to sign and he's playing games with my father and his friend. This gym preys on older people taking advantage of their belief that someone wouldn't lie about a contract, they refused to hand over the contract making up ridiculous excuses like it would be impossible to print a copy or email a copy or do anything possible to allow my father to actually look at the paperwork up close and now they are trying to lock these 80 years olds into a $5000.00 contract for something they didn't want and were bullied into "checking." If you don't like scumbag practices and liars I would advise running on the beach or trying a different gym. The fact we're even disputing this is ridiculous. According to other patrons at the gym and even some of the other trainers they know this is a scam. Don't go to this gym. They know about these practices and allow it to continue. Don't give Matt the time of day unless you feel comfortable with a man with the same morals as a call center in India. read more

Hello I went to the gym on 06/20/2023 at 5:00 pm LA FITNESS 1660 S FEDERAL HIGHWAY on DELRAY BEACH. I went to the bathroom and noticed the shower curtain was full of manure. I went to the FRONT DESK and I said to the Guy a disgusting pig left the manure on the shower curtain and if you please get someone to clean it , and he said ok. i'm done with my exercises, at 7:00 pm i go back to the bathroom to take a shower and i noticed the manure was still there i went to the REGISTRATION DESK explained the situation and show to Him the picture i took He apologized to me WHILE the FRONT DESK person explained that no one cleans the shower and replied A OK sorry what is your comment ? this is inexcusable and un acceptable I'll probably WILL be switching gyms. read more

Switched over to LA Fitness a couple of months ago, and I am very happy! This fitness center offers so much more than my last one, and is only $25 a month. This includes group fitness classes, sauna, pool, whirlpool, and the gym itself (racquet ball/hand ball is extra.) The staff is super friendly, and will stop to help you if you ever have a question about a machine. It can be a bit intimidating, because there are people here that are extremely fit, but after a few times, you for right in. There are plenty of machines for everyone, even though this place is literally packed at all times. My boyfriend and I come here early in the morning because of this, and it is still decently busy at 5:30am. I especially love that they have 6 stair stepping machines, as most gyms only have 2. They offer so many group classes ranging from yoga, spin, abs, to zumba and power circuit. There's a class for everyone if that's your thing. They do have personal trainers as well, that you can pay for by sessions. Overall, very happy with my switch to LA! Side note: place could be a littttttttle cleaner (hence the 4 stars) Sometimes smells like too much sweat. read more

In terms of La Fitness locations, I gotta say, I really enjoyed this facility. You walk in and you're facing a ton of cardio machines. Rows of treadmills, stair climbers, and more. All clean and in neatly-lined rows. There are courts to the let of the machine. An even bigger area behind and the left (if you're facing away from the cardio machines) are the weights, again, organized, in a seemingly orderly fashion. The gym is clean. There is no LA Fitness smell to it and it's put together pretty well. The locker rooms are pretty well cleaned too. Plenty of space to change and get workout ready. The sauna wasn't the hottest, even when I turned the temperature up. There are two sets of showers for some reason. Either will do I suppose? And beyond that is the pool area which I didn't use. The man issue I have here are the patrons who are super rude. I had more then three people essentially run into me or walk almost straight into me- no excuse me or anything. Just not a friendly crowd here. I know it's the gym and not elementary school, but c'mon, a smile goes a long way. It's sad when a great gym becomes not-so-great because of its clientele, and believe me, especially for an LA Fitness, this location is pretty freaking great. read more

Nice place to come around 5-6:30am, for that reason I give it 2 stars vs one. But after about 7/8am, this place is packed and is a mess. Nobody seems to rerack their weights, and if they do they put them in the wrong place. Also, there are crumpled up paper towels all over the floors. DO NOT go to this gym. Go ANYWHERE else, exercise at home, whatever...just do not work out here. As a brand new member I entered four times. No one was at the front desk to check me in, so I just went into the gym and worked out. I noticed that the floors were very dirty. But, the worst parts of this gym are, (1) the equipment is not maintained; plastic grips on the machine handles are cracked, falling off and have repair glue oozing out of them, the sole straight bar, (they only have one in the whole gym!), is permanently attached to the cable locking nut, two of the cable machines will not adjust up or down!, (2) Management DOES NOT CARE about any of these problems. When I pointed them out, (after requesting a set of pliers to make repairs), the manager just laughed and said a repair order was "in the system". Max Ryanheart - personal trainer/manager was extremely rude, not personal, offended my family and I at this location. He asked where I was from and I told him that I had an Ohio ID and he discriminated against me and seemed to be having a "roid rage" shouting "I was born here and lived here my whole life" and told me to "go back to wherever I came from." The membership woman was also very mean to me covering up for Max. This was the worst customer service - I hope la fitness fixes the way employees treat customers!
