I've NEVER had issues with incontinence before even though I've had problems with constipation for YEARS. Now 3 months after not seeing him, and taking care of UC through a naturopath, i am at much better place in terms of recovery than i was with him. GI specialists seems only know mesalamine, steriods and finally biologics for UC and colonoscopy, which i did not want to follow and found the solutions outside of this. Summary: with Ulcerative Colitis if your GI is not talking about the role of diet, stress and lifestyle change the doctor.
