My wife and I were in the area and decided to have a date night at TS Fork in Tonkawa, and it was easily one of the best dining experiences we've had. The concept is fantastic--a 5-course prix fixe menu where each dish seemed to outdo the last. The absolute highlight for me was the shrimp and grits; they were perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. You can really tell the kitchen prioritizes fresh, high-quality ingredients. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was top-notch. They had two singers performing, which really set a great mood for a night out. The bartender was also incredibly friendly and helpful with recommendations. If you are anywhere near Northern Oklahoma, this place is a destination worth the drive. We'll definitely be back for another rotation of the menu! read more

Review for dinner on 10/25/2024 Food A+ Service A+ Ambiance A+ TS Fork in Tonkawa is only open Friday and Saturday night. There is one seating at 6:30 and you need reservations. AND, they only serve prix fixe, which changes every two weeks. They also use seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Plan to arrive a little early to get seated and to have drinks served (full bar) before Chef Jeff introduces himself and the menu for the evening. The restaurant is in downtown Tonkawa at the intersection of Main and Grand. It is located in an old, but refurbished two-story brick building. The lower level is wheelchair accessible. Our five course meal consisted of ... #1 Deviled eggs #2 Fall Harvest Bisque (!) #3 House Salad #4 Roasted Prime Rib w/ mac and cheese (!!) #5 Pumpkin Cheesecake I am not going to go into detail of each course, but I will say that it was worth ($45) the drive from OKC. BASICALLY, the dinner was delicious and I look forward to trying another of the chef's creations soon. Our server, Hope, was great. She is friendly to talk to and took care of us from the moment we walked in the door till we left. I look forward to my next trip to Kay County and TS Fork. read more

Made reservations and was wondering why 630 was the only option. This is a five course meal that starts at 6:30 when you're done eating that's it for the night. There's a drinks menu, but no food menu, chef decides what you are eating for the evening. Guess that's called a fixed menu. Neat Bldg w historical pictures. Food was excellent, live music was a bit loud for me but nice. Chef Jeff opened the evening discussing the menu. Wait staff seemed a little short handed as drink service was mediocre. We came out with another couple and wanted a couple drinks, didn't really happen. Started w deviled eggs a bit too sweet for me, homemade tomato bisque that was excellent, fresh greens served family style, main course was beef tenderloin with a brown gravy, rolls and slightly cheesy mashed potatoes. Tender was amazing, cooked perfect and very tender. Potatoes were just ok. Rolls were nice and I did enjoy the Melba toast like croutons that came with the soup and salad. Desert was Chantilly cake. Moist and soft w fruit and slight edge of creamy frosting so not too sweet. Coffee would have been nice but not offered. Chef Jeff came around and helped clear dishes and visited with every table. Overall it was an enjoyable evening, fresh food, good company and we will definitely go back. Nice place to take guests and for special occasions. Drive was a bit but worth it! read more

This is a one of a kind experience! Chef Jeff explains in detail the farm to table process. The freshness of the eggs and vegetables makes each course that much more enjoyable! The minestrone soup was so delicious and flavorful and I don't even like minestrone soup. The deviled eggs were amazing! I attended a dinner at TS Fork about two weeks ago. Having seen the restaurant grow from concept to reality, I can say they have come a long way. I was extremely impressed with nearly every aspect of the Fork. The atmosphere, both inside and out, is something you don't see very often nowadays. It felt as if we had stepped out of Tonkawa and into another place altogether. My girlfriend and I were welcomed very heartily at the door, and guided up the stairs. We were seated with some very friendly people with whom we soon got acquainted with. Pleasant dinner conversation followed as we enjoyed the elegance of the room and smooth music with a live vocalist. The waiters and staff were extremely friendly, and every course was served to us at a comfortable pace. Each course was just as tasty as the last, and all of the food tasted fresh and professionally prepared. The bar was quick and easy to access, and the ambiance was relaxing and quaint. TS Fork is a unique dining experience for anyone looking to break the norm. It is definitely worth the short trip north, and is an excellent place to take a date or a group of friends and family. This is a destination restaurant. It is in the middle of no where but so worth it. It is a quaint two story building in downtown tonkawa. The Chef rings the dinner bell, triangle to signal the beginning of the meal. He spoke to the crowd and described each course. The set menu changes frequently. We had the valentine menu and each course was lovely. It was one of the best meals we have eaten in a really long time. It is definitely worth the trip and we can't wait to go again read more

Interesting dining experience in Tonkawa. As we walked in the front door we were greeted by the friendly staff and told our table was upstairs in the dining room. We almost left immediately because the stairs are very steep and long, and my wife is on oxygen, but we didn't want to disappoint our dinner guests. After a slow trudge up the stairs, we discovered a delightful dining room that looked very promising. There was a lady singing Jazz in the corner of the room. She was very good and added to the ambience. Before dinner, the Chef described each of the five courses in detail. The first two courses were well prepared but not noteworthy. The salad was exceptional with delicate greens, walnuts and cranberries with a delicious dressing made in house. The prime rib was disappointing. Very tough. The potatoes were average, but the rolls were very good. The dessert was cake with blueberries and strawberries. The chef was very attentive, coming to our table several times and answering questions about the food and specialty drinks. After a cup of coffee it was time to take on the stairs again. They were almost as daunting on the way down as they were on the way up. The price was very reasonable, and service was spot on, attentive but not intrusive. We will come back next time to the Stillwater location, not the Tonkawa location with the killer stairs. We will leave that location to the young and the nimble. read more

I highly recommend TS FORK and wanted to give this 5 stars, but cannot for a couple of reasons. Those towards the end. First the really GOOD stuff. Chef Jeff Denton has a wonderful reputation in this area and his restaurant here lives up to it. Our church had him cater our annual dinner and it was superb. Many times catered meals can be somewhat institutionalized and some dishes may suffer from sitting too long. Not Chef Denton. Although we were in a motel without a kitchen he found a nearby kitchen, prepared everything and served it at its peak. I share this because this is the way the meal is prepared at TS Fork. As a Destination restaurant it has a unique spot in dining experience. I stress the dining experience because not only is the food fresh and immediately prepared, the presentation and ambiance are well thought out, appropriate and correct for the experience they create. As much as possible they use locally grown foods. The wait staff is attentive but never obtrusive. The pacing of the five courses is excellent and allows plenty of time for conversation. The meal was a little over an hour and half but seemed like a much shorter time. The menu is set but changes every two weeks and is on their web site. Each meal is five courses which sounds like a lot by some standards, but the portions are small except the entree and dessert. That said we did ask for more of the deviled eggs and they readily brought them. The first course is a specially developed deviled egg which is really wonderful. Also a pizza appetizer is served that is quite good. Our second course was a minestrone soup that was wonderful. They offered a wine pairing with this which I opted to do. While I am not a wine snob I do understand that pairings should complement one another. This pairing was good but not exceptional. The third course was a caesar salad with a homemade dressing and locally produced cheese which was quite good as well. The main course was a grilled sirloin and eggplant. These were good and well prepared. Finally the dessert. I think Pat's cheesecake is a regular as the dessert. It is absolutely wonderful, extremely light with fresh fruit - YUM! This was also the paired with a dessert wine. Coffee, tea and water are all part of the meal. Why not 5 stars? First is my personal preference on steaks. I am not a big fan of sirloin. I strongly prefer a filet or a NY Strip. That said this was probably the best prepared sirloin I have ever had and ample in size, probably at least 12 oz. Again this is just my preference and I almost hesitate to add this in but I feel it important for people that may be looking for fine steak dinner. This isn't a steak house but the preparation did more with the cut than I have ever experienced. CONS: We went to the bar and I ordered a very nice California cabernet before the meal and it came out chilled. One of our party asked me and I said its good, but chilled. The bartender heard me and said she didn't get there in time to take it out and let it warm up as it was an open bottle they had kept. That's not my problem. She did offer to open a new bottle. Also, the pairing of the dessert wine was in my opinion not good. It was good wine but overpowered the cheesecake. They advertise Oklahoma wines and none were available or at least offered. I am not a big fan of Oklahoma wines, I think the industry while improving, still has some ways to go. They offer a very select line of Oklahoma beers. There are some excellent craft breweries in Oklahoma, but I was disappointed with the small selection, primarily of well known area brews. One of our party who knows good beers asked for one and they were out of it. Not finding another one to his liking he passed, so sale lost. I would suggest they actually get Oklahoma wines if that is part of the "destination" and a much wider selection of Oklahoma beers. They could rotate some in and out and not have to keep large inventory but would add to their destination image. As a suggestion, not a criticism, the pizza and the eggplant were very similar. There are a great many local gardens including an asparagus farm not far from town. I think it would have been a better choice for the steak course. We would definitely go back and would recommend this Destination Restaurant to anyone in OKC, Wichita or Tulsa. It is worth the drive! read more

If you know Chef Jeff, you know he never disappoints. Set in what was once an early 1900s gas station is a restaurant sure to offer a most unique experience as well as excellent, farm to table fare. For a mere 30$ a person, you are treated to a five course meal, but not before you catch each course's perfectly detailed description from the master chef himself. The deviled eggs?! Well, they ain't like my grandma's. Locally made cheese..locally grown beef...these are just some of the items offered on a menu that changes weekly. If tea or water aren't enough to quench your thirst, be sure and order a glass/bottle of suggested wine. Do make your reservations early...seating fills fast. I wish I could give more than 2 stars but cannot. I guess this place is not for me or my taste isn't as "refined" as the other posters, lol.. There was not really much I liked about it starting with the seating. I really don't care for sitting at a group table passing around bowls & plates of food with strangers. When the place started filling up so did the noise level & I really wanted to leave but didn't in hopes that once everyone started eating the level would go down. It did but not by much. The "deviled egg". As someone else posted "it's not your grandmothers deviled egg" & I agree & I'd rather have grandmothers deviled egg. I guess I didn't care for a boiled egg blended up & put into a pastry shell. I just have to say no to "bean soup" in fine dining. The salad & dressing were awful. The steak would have been better if he cooked it a bit longer, I don't care for raw beef. The dessert was good though. There you have it, my take on TS Fork - Love it or not I don't care. read more
