Service not the greatest when we arrived. The young man at the hostess desk was playing on his cell phone, and barely looked up and failed to greet us rather he asked how many and that was that. This place exceeded expectations. There were several items I could tell were house made, and made well. We had some big ole fat tato skins, that you could tell were real with real toppings, versus the pre-made frozen ones. The fried mushrooms were giant, and the dipping sauces (cant remember what they were now) were house made...at least some of them anyway. As a STL Native I was surrounded by good food. We have been here three times since Aug. always looking for the best, but the past two were horrible and now we don't want to go back. Our Drink orders from the bar were messed up, and one not even made correctly, steak was tough, gristly, and more like a thin breakfast steak, not your beautiful steakhouse kind. The sides were cold, the same waitress we had the last two times was a hot mess and couldn't keep anything straight. We did tell management on our second visit but not our last. They acted like we were complaining to get a free meal.. not it at all. I have 30 yrs in restaurant and customer service at a managerial level, I felt they should be aware. Food was great! Service was great! Only draw back is we had 2 employees stand at our table and have a full on grip session about a big party that was being asked to leave. Large restaurant that has a separate bar area and private room for meeting or large event, kid friendly and has d lunch specials. Had the cowboy burger and was very happy with the choice, well seasoned burger topped with bacon, cheese bbq sauce, and onions served with a very generous portion of hot crispy fries. We (a group of 9) stopped around dinner time 6-28-2025, after a long day of hiking. We are hot, tired, and hungry. We figured a big, delicious, juicy burger would finish off the day very well. Well, it would have if we had gone some place else. As we were being seated, we were greeted with a disgusting stench of cigarettes. I didn't see any patrons smoking at their tables, so it must have been the staff smoking in the kitchen or backroom. My husband came home with a migraine, and the rest of us felt nauseous and had headaches from the cigarette smoke, which continued until the next day. We had ice water with a slice of lemon for our drinks. The water tasted how swamp water smells. Gross! Everything was sticky and felt grimy... the floors, the tables, chairs, even the condiment containers. The food: we all ordered burgers. They were large, and that's about the only good thing about them. They were flavorless. My husband had "The Ex". It claims to be spicy. He said there was no spice to it at all. For $16/ burger we expect to be wowed with flavor. T's failed that. There wasn't consistency in the burgers either. All the burgers ordered were 1/2lb, which was a good size, however, some were a full 1/2lb patty, while others were two 1/4lb patties. Why the difference? I ordered a side of brown gravy (I like to dip my fries in it). The gravy was barely warm, and resembled day-old rubbery pudding... just a thick glob of brown goo. Gross! $140+ for a mediocre meal in a nasty environment is not our idea of a good end to a fun day. The only way to improve this experience is to receive a FULL REFUND! read more

07/30/20 Waited for a good 10-15 mins to order. The waitress went MIA. Sister asked for dinner rolls never got them. We were supppsed to get them before our appetizer of chips and queso.  Chips and queso: was ok the chips break in your hand.  Half rack of st. Louis ribs: Homemade chips: chips are good! Ill come back for these! Green beans: these sucked $4 moon shots one of each flavor Cinnamon pear: Pleasant in the mouth but the cinnamon hits you in the breath. Lol or throat. I had heard this was a good place to eat so I went online and looked at their menu. Wrong should have called instead of going off that for prices cause they are way off well. I wrote down from the menu what I wanted for my birthday. I wanted fried mushrooms something I haven't eaten in a long time like 5 yrs and fried shrimp, twice baked potato and cream cheese cream corn. The mushrooms were delicious. The shrimp was not tasty just no taste, the corn was gross taste like cream cheese mixed with cream corn no seasoning not like I had at other places and the potato was just a baked potato. The service I was told was fast he made it back pretty fast and it wasn't late in the evening it was around dinner time. So I asked how much the bill was cause I wanted to pay I had asked for it and he got the exact same thing as I did. It was over 50.00. Ok I don't eat out much and yes it is usually just for myself but they need to update their online menu price. I know food is expensive but at least it should taste good we threw away the corn I didn't eat but 2 shrimp I ate the baked potato and mushrooms which the mushrooms I would go back for. We've been twice now, the first time was an ok experience but nothing to really write home about. We recently had the all you can eat fish on Friday. Call ahead for a reservation or you will have about a 30 min wait. Our server seemed upset about receiving 2 new tables and did take a while for her to come over. The fish was alright but again, nothing great. Tasted over cooked and bland. No lemons were served and we were denied them when we requested them. T's is always a favorite for a quick lunch. This.trip I had the prime rib sandwich and it was very good. My business associate had the pulled pork sandwich and it was huge! We just happened on this place by driving by on our way back to dallas. What a pleasant surprise. We had fried mushrooms (great) we split a ribeye (ordered it medium rare. Came to this establishment after a derby tournament. They were awesome and got us enough tables for a whole team of gals and their families. Started off totally awesome. Clearly we had a lot of people, and the waitress was amazing. A gal and I ordered two meats and sides. The ribs were very clovey and the pulled pork was dry. The baked beans were phenomenal and the buns with cinnamon made my night. Ultimately I wasn't overwhelmingly impressed by the food, but the service was amazing!
