For a PreCheck line this was quite packed. Not sure if it was the time of day (9:30am), or is San Diego that busy of an airport? The confusing part was the formation of the line. I wasn't sure where I was going, and then in the same line you have PreCheck and Clear. The Clear members walk on the left side of the narrow gated line, and the PreCheck walk on the right side... weird.

Very straight forward, but might be confusing if you were in a hurry especially flying domestically, the self check in kiosks from American Airline and Alaska are in between the TSA check in, so if you were looking to put in your confirmation number, you might use the wrong kiosk then ended up going to the front desk anyway to get your boarding pass printed, finally if you have carry on, just make sure it's included so you don't have to check those bags and pay extra, and don't forget to use the regular gate instead of the global entry one ;)

Its crazy how long the TSA precheck lines are nowadays. Yes, they are still quicker than going thru the regular lone, but it is still getting ridiculous. No fault of the TSA officers, they are doing the best they can. Still, it should never get this bad. Maybe there needs to be more TSA precheck lines or more TSA officers. Check out the lines in my pictures and tell me things do not need to change?

It's been a few years since I got on a flight to travel. The process for check-in was smooth and fast. Took me 5min to get through the TSA checkpoint prior to entering the terminal to board. Most of the shops are close and do not open until later on in the morning. Not many options available to buy snacks, coffee, or additional items. Overall a positive experience with great views and many charging stations and portable chargers available for purchase. My recommendation if you book an early flight eat before you board if it's a long flight like mine.

Ok, it was a red eye, but I barely had to pause at security. All of the TSA agents were very friendly. Absolutely no issues.

Long line but moved quickly. All the TSA agents were super nice and joked around, which made the whole experience better.

On my last flight with SWA, the PreCheck symbol was not on my boarding pass. How do I correct that so I can use my TSA status tomorrow?

Unfortunately, the TSA pre-check processing time ended up being about 7 to 10 minutes. It was no worry for me except for that. I got secondary checked and then it was like why? Anyway, when I got in the terminal, I hit up the better Buzz Coffee Spot, so that I could have a little something to eat. I had not eaten breakfast yet. I knew that this trip might cause me to not have any food for the day and so I needed something to start myself off to prepare for that. I have a review for the Better Buzz Coffee in terminal one separate from this review. After I got my coffee I was happy to get in the terminal and walk to my gate. For some reason, even though I love this new terminal, it's still seems like there is not enough seating for all of the passengers who are traveling out or in. I wish that that can still be addressed even though the terminal is done with the remodeling. On the way back it was just great to be back in my home airport as the Las Vegas airport was trash. This place has really nice amenities and I appreciate the San Diego International Airport terminal one remodel. The restaurants are fantastic. The vibe is great and there are several areas where you can just stop and chill and have a drink in a bar, or get a massage, or get a shower, or take your pet to be relieved, or...all of those things. Overall, my departure and arrival experience was wonderful thank you.

For departure, the TSA PreCheck line moved quickly and was easy. The only downside is that San Diego Airport still only has one runway. Our flight was delayed about 30 minutes after we left the gate due to planes being stacked for arrivals. From what I understand, this has been an issue for decades at this airport and will eventually need to be addressed.

Hubby and I were headed to Puerto Escondido, which is very expensive and very time-consuming to fly to from the airport in San Diego. However, flight prices and times were much more reasonable from Tijuana. Thanks to CBX, we didn't need to find anyone to cross the border and drive us directly to the airport, especially as our flight departed at 5:40 AM. It was nice to have an easy drop off on this side of the border. Anyway, we were dropped off on the US side, and had pre-purchased CBX tickets online for $50 per person, round trip. I felt that the price was very fair for the staffing and amenities along the way. We had already reserved a rideshare to drive us to CBX, but I saw the secure parking lots and realized that parking there is also a valid, safe option. It appeared that some of the secured parking cost about $30 per day, making it a good option depending how may days you would like to park your car. Anyway, when we entered, there were people guiding us, as it wasn't too crowded at that early hour. You scan your CBX ticket, your boarding pass, and your passport. Then you are able to walk through the barriers. There are escalators and elevators to get to the bridge, and signs stating that there is assistance available for people with disabilities. The bridge was clean and air-conditioned. We walked through customs just prior to entering the Tijuana airport. When I had learned about CBX, I was reluctant. A friend of mine told me that she had walked much further in various airports. It is true. The walk is short and easy Upon coming back to the states, we learned that there were several taco and other food trucks on the US side of CBX, as well as Starbucks and a well-known mall pretzel company. All in all, I am grateful to have a way to access the TJ airoprt in a very easy and affordable way. I plan to continue to use CBX for more affordable flights south of the border.

I used CBX to fly from TIJ to San Miguel Allende 10 years ago, and recently to Cancun. Both times were uneventful, exactly how I like my airport experiences to be. Purchase your CBX pass and parking ahead of time. Parking is priced cheapest in the dirt lot and most expensive in the covered/paved lot. I prefer the Goldilocks of uncovered paved in Lot A up front. Upon arrival, scan your CBX ticket and boarding pass (you can link them and just scan boarding pass as well, but don't need to). Same on the way back.

My morning flight was canceled with little to no notice, and from that moment on, everything fell apart. It took nearly six hours for staff to provide any meaningful information or assistance on rebooking or next steps. The lack of urgency, communication, and leadership was shocking. What made it worse was the so called manager, who clearly had no idea how to handle the situation. He was disorganized, unprepared, and ineffective. At one point, another passenger a woman had to step in and literally guide him step by step on how to move forward. That should never happen in a situation involving hundreds of stranded travelers. This trip was especially important to me. My family was already inside the airplane, and I was traveling for my father's birthday, which is now completely ruined due to this late cancellation and incompetence. There was zero empathy shown for passengers with families, time sensitive plans, or special occasions. After hours of waiting, all I was offered was a flight the next day and a single overnight stay, which felt insulting given the disruption, stress, and lost time. No real accountability. No proper compensation. Just delays and excuses. On top of everything, the airport itself is poorly equipped to handle disruptions: * Not enough seating * Very limited charging areas (my phone nearly died) * Overcrowded, chaotic, and uncomfortable * Passengers everywhere visibly frustrated and exhausted This airport clearly lacks competent management and basic passenger support infrastructure. I will never return to Tijuana International Airport (TJ) Airport, and I strongly recommend avoiding it if you value your time, sanity, or travel plans. I'll gladly stick to other airports moving forward and avoid this one at all costs.

I got dropped off around 7 AM, and while it was definitely busy, it felt manageable. From my experience, it really depends on the time you go, but most times I've been to the airport, it hasn't been too chaotic. This time I flew with Alaska Airlines. I'm usually a Delta person, but Alaska kind of won me over with their cheaper ticket pricing. Their drop-off area is one of the first when you enter the departure lane, so it's super convenient and quick to get out. That said, there were a lot of cars and the TSA line looked long, but surprisingly, it only took me about 15 minutes to get through. The terminal itself feels pretty small, low ceilings, a bit cramped, and not my favorite layout. However, the staff were friendly, and the process overall was smooth. I'd still say Delta is my go-to, but if you're flying Alaska, just make sure to go early in case there's traffic or longer lines.
