Hi there. Sure is nice seeing you here at 35,000 feet.
    Joyce W.

The airport is a lawless place. 7AM? Drink a beer. Tired? Sleep on the floor. Hungry? Chips now cost $18. And if you're in California, the chips are $23. I kid... kinda. I enjoy Southwest Airlines. I fly mainly with Southwest Airlines should the travel destination permit it. And for a 55-minute flight between San Diego and Phoenix, I have zero complaints. The Southwest Airlines gates have great seating and charging ports, are operated with a friendly staff, and it's a short flight for me. No complaints, minus the simple desire that I wish that bags still flew free. The San Diego Airport itself s spacious and clean. The layout is simple and cozy, and TSA moves fast. The bathrooms and entryways on the first floor, before the TSA gate, seem sketchy though. No one wants to be hit up for cash by the more colorful squatters at the airport.

First of allC SOUTHWEST AIRLINES HONORS AND CELEBRATES BLACK HISTORY MONTH!!! We saw signs and decor throughout the airports at all Southwest Terminal Gates, Ticketing Counters, etc. My first gripe is that the new seating and boarding processes for Southwest are disappointing. It is so unorganized without the check in boarding numbers, and folks just rush to the line, in any order, and hold up the boarding process. Southwest needs to bring back the old way of boarding with numbers assigned. When you get on the plane, and if you are seated in a first 4 rows, you will have to put your stowed bags about 4 rows beyond your seat. This predicament creates a fish swimming upstream situation for all Choice Preferred Seating Customers in beginning rows of the plane. Do not allow people with rows 7 and back to board before rows 1-6... The customer service on the flights from San Diego to Sacramento, and from Sacramento to San Diego is wonderful. The staff is great and attentive. Thanks for that experience. I do have another gripe, neither plane was equipped with in seat phone/device chargers. This was a hassle and can be remedied by Southwest upgrading this plane. Many politicians and business people travel this SAN to SMF route and it would be very helpful to be able to charge our devices onboard.

You really need to do better Southwest. More than half are delayed out of San Diego.

Really Southwest, almost half the departures flights out of San Diego are delayed. You can do so much better. Luckily there are bars at the airport.

1.5hr wait in the plane at the gate because maintenance in either DFW or SAN didn't identify a dent in the tail so here we are. Morons

They put a 300lbs dude in the middle that is forcing me into the aisle where I'm being shoved back into seat by crew. They did not abide by their own regulations that customers need to at least fit into their own seats Pax said he was a last minute booking so it's on Southwest not to measure the pax. Instead they force an a list pax who paid $267 one way into this scenario. At minimum should refund me miles for this leg at $267. Just horrible.

Up up and way! Good morning sunshine 10/16/25

We booked a flight back in October for my Dad's Birthday he was turning 96 Strong!! And doing great Arrive at 4:45am and waited for the airport to open in line. It's all glass on now so we could see employee walking in and TSA having a meeting good but they open at 5:30am So Southwest was on time and we flew out on time 6:00am it was along day. We arrived in Florida Orlando After 6:00pm but it was a great flight So happy to my family

The many trips that Ive taken the one that treats you like family when you cone on board when you need a 7up for the upset stomache. The hospitality they treat you like your coming home the workers of Southwest they have fun on the flights when you go to San Jose or to the city of Las Vegss. Wgen you come to the San Diego International the sky caps were thevfirst ones to check people in and getting baggage on their way. The trip to the San Diego Internstional the many flights that come out to the many states you will see the many boardingg gates for the Southwestern airlines that is located at the Terminal 1. South Western Airlines the blue tail the many flights that leave at different schedules from the hub central of Arizona. San Diego Internatio is the West Coast terminal that with the many flights that connect over to the Island of Hawaii and many of the flights that leave from San Dieho heading to the many midwester and the Eastern states of Michigan and Minesosota. When you come on Board the levity the stewards making people laugh and smile the many that are affraid to fly the preflight the fun time as the flight stewards explain the emergency and breathing masks at take off. SouthWest Airlinez is one of the best airlines where the workers help you check in luggage help in closing the luggage racks above your seats. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer tge one airline that shows the welcone of Family the airline that makes the preflight where you laugh the one that welcomes if your drunk you will not be alowed on the flight. The safety of the flight if you drink to much is stay at the terminal and take a couple of hours. Welconw to the Southwest Airlines fly safely and you xan have the best flight to the desrination.

I previously flew Southwest, but their prices have been getting more ridiculous so I finally tried out Spirit, in 2025. I am now a fan! I have flown one other budget airline (in Europe) before, which left a super bad taste in my mouth, so I was hesitant to fly another budget airline. Flying from socal to norcal (flight time: 1 hour 6 minutes) for $30, I wasn't really expecting much, just that it got me there on time in one piece. I expected them to nickle and dime me and measure my luggage, but none of that happened! The personal item size allowance in America (18x14x8) is way more generous than in Europe. My giant tote bag easily fit in the designated box. I didn't see them try to give anyone a hard time about luggage size at all. What surprised me the most was the flight itself. Planing and deplaning was easier because most people didn't have carry-ons. There were also no snacks (unless you bought some from them), so there was hardly any trash and the seats were way cleaner. Sure the seats don't recline and aren't as cushiony, but it's totally negligible for my short flights. I'm short so the legroom was plenty for me. Not really sure how they make profit charging $30 a flight (during off peak hours), with $20 of it going to airport/government fees, but nonetheless I enjoyed 3/3 of my flights with Spirit!

The flight was booked, and unfortunately my daughter could not make the trip due to work reasons. So, I had to cancel which was done early on, abiding by American Airlines cancellation policy, but they issued a flight credit instead of a refund . I was on the phone with them going back and forth trying to make them be accountable for their own legal travel guidelines, and I was on the phone with various representatives who loved to tell me they can help and issue the refund, but they never did refund me! I could have complained to my bank, but they took out all the mental energy in my system that I just let it go! I was on the phone with them trying to get the refund about four different occasions (each representative) assuring me they could help, and some could not, that I gave up the fight to preserve my mental health. Why did they not follow their own travel (legal) guidelines)? They can get in trouble if they continue to not abide by their own legal travel guidelines. I was already taking time to prepare for this important trip and did not need added anxiety and stress on my plate. How many times does a customer need to be on the phone to get successful and satisfactory results? It should take one phone call to do that. Due to this inability to refund my money, and not abiding by their legal guidelines, even having their own customer service representatives on the phone telling you don't worry we will get you a refund, and it never happened. That is a real problem! The flight itself was smooth with no complications, but it needed to be effortless with my entire experience! In the future, I might fly Delta. Hopefully, American Airlines will take steps to improve in the areas that need attention to regain the trust of their travelers.

Japan airline states "2 free checked bags" But they charged me extra fees for every checked bag I had, stating it was AA's decision. Both airlines had no idea what the policy was and they had to call each other to figure it out for 30 minutes. If I don't sign for the extra charges, my luggage doesn't go on the flight. The service being sold had very unclear terms and they have denied the dispute, stating I knew what I signed up for initially, and that I had signed for the charges at the airport. Total Catch-22 THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM 0/5 stars. Fool me once shame on me. But I won't let them fool me or anyone else twice. (Prior to purchasing, I even looked up what other customers had to say about baggage policies on codeshare flights, and they all say it follows the operating airline. Which AA is denying)

The staff on board the plane were friendly and helpful. However, my one major critique was that they only had one staff for general curbside check-in and luggage drop off. Despite using the kiosk to print out our tags ourselves, we still had to wait in a long line to have them weigh our luggage and check our IDs, easily remedied by having at least one more staff. The first class staff did call us over once she was through with her line but I really thought a second economy staff was needed, especially since half the passengers were waiting to check in until they reached the front of the line, old school style, so that the guy had to print out their tags for them and their boarding passes... Thank goodness for TSA precheck which made the security portion of the morning go super fast. In any case my overall impression of Alaska Airlines was improved by the efficiency and comfort of the flight itself.

My boyfriend walked up and asked if we could be moved closer to the front of the plane given the circumstances and she waved him away without even looking at our itinerary. Told him the gates were close together in Boston. The plane had several open seats closer to the front, so this would not have been a burden on her. The flight attendant on the plane was much more helpful, and the pilot made an announcement that a few folks had extremely tight connections so please remain seated unless you were one of them. Every single person in economy stayed seated, but I guess the announcement didn't reach the privileged, self-centered folks in first, as they ALL stood up and a woman told my boyfriend to move so she could grab her luggage. He said no, and I explained we had an extremely tight connection. A man in an Aloha Brewing shirt barked at me that everyone had tight connections. He started becoming very irritated and the woman in front of him told him that it was too early in the day to fight me. So that was fun. I hope dude felt really good about himself for going off on a girl. Anyway, he said he was going to New York so I checked the flights to New York. His connection was not tight. He was just rude. I recognize this is unrelated commentary but it's helpful context in the grand scheme of my experience. Our connecting plane was nowhere near the gate when we disembarked, so we had to run through the airport to another part of Terminal C in Boston. A JetBlue agent there asked where we were running to and said she'd call the plane to ask them to hold it for us. They did. JetBlue in Boston was stellar. All's well that ends well in the end, and the FA/pilot really did save the day, but I really wish the gate agent in San Diego had cared even an ounce to help us as a touch of customer service would've gone a long way. It could've been a different outcome if economy hadn't acknowledged the pilot's announcement.

So far only 25 percent of my flights leave on time. From Boston not as single delay at all. Luckily I never had a flight get cancelled. On my last trip a majority of the TVs were not working. They kept restarting. I also had the worst passengers sitting in front of me. They took up Two rows and they were out of control the entire trip. They could not control their kids. It was horrible and like a scene from Outbreak. They kept coughing all over the place, they would also stand up on the seats and cough in your face. . Wouldn't doubt if it was the flu or something. The kids kept jumping on the seat and screaming and crying. They could not control the kids. The entire family manned 1 bathroom for like 1/2 the trip. At one point the father apologized to me because the kept throwing and losing crayons and the would end up in my row behind them. Why not control your kids instead? The was a nightmare flight. I was going to ask for another seat but didn't want to make a big deal of it. At one point the father kept knocking on the bathroom door when somone else was in there. You took up the bathroom the entire trip, maybe others now need to use it. I could hear other passengers complain about them but not sure if they said anything. This was like Romper Room and Daddy Day Care all mixed in one. I feel bad for anyone else that has to get on a plane with them. Ok my rant is over. Just wish a flight attendant woulda told them to relax. And keep seated. lol. Can't really blame JeTblue for the passengers so I'm giving this trip a 3.75 lol.

Today it was turkey, egg and cheese. Flight attendants younger, prettier at least on this flight, friendly. Nicer, respectful announcements for lowering window shades and flight time updates. Hubs told me Alaska will be flying from their hub in Seattle to London and Rome next month. That is exciting news. They seem very similar to Spirit in the way of cost and pricing set up. Everything is piece rate, so you want better boarding? Buy it. Want to choose your seat ahead of time? Buy it. Want a soda or snack on board? Buy that too. So the cost is no frills, just the flight, everything else is an add-on. It's not wildly expensive, but can add up quickly. The boarding process was beyond chaotic. The groups are massive, and once everyone lines up, the lines stretch well into the terminal depending on where your gate is. A few things I appreciated were the flight attendants keeping the luggage bins closed for the first few rows while boarding happens. They didn't open them until people in those rows began being seated. This and upon landing, they didn't allow the whole plane to stand up at once, they controlled this as well. Nice touches that I wish a few other airlines would adopt. Service was friendly and helpful at the gates and on board. Overall, a solid 3.5 as an airline overall. I wouldn't mind flying Volaris again when back in Mexico.

I'm currently sitting Tijuana waiting to board my flight which is supposed to take off in two minutes, and everything shows on time, although no one has boarded yet. Their website crashed while we were paying for luggage, so we ended up getting charged twice, and they said a refund is not possible, so we'll have to go through our credit card company. As I write this, they now have delayed the departure by 11 minutes, but as not a single person has started boarding yet and the departure time is eight minutes from now, you can draw your own conclusions. We've only taken them for nonstop flights, and that seems to be the safest if you need to use them.
