I had the pleasure of dealing with the most disrespectful, unkept and uneducated TSA "supervisor" CRYSTAL NYAMEKYE, at Newark Airport. I am not sure if TSA is struggling to find qualified and educated employees but they really need to improve on their hiring process and screenings. I travel often and have spoken with great employees working for TSA but this individual is everything short of a good representation of TSA. TSA should improve with educating employees on how not to abuse their authority. TSA agent Randal M. @ PIE airport St. Pete. Was amazing w/ my mom & I on Oct 25,23. Mom needed wheelchair assistance had great assistance fr Allegiant staff. Unfortunately my mom packed her ID & C/C . Only paper wrk w/ her name on dogs info. As the dog was in his carrier bag on her lap Officer M. made this big snag an easy one. He was an angel as mom had to go through extra screening. Tho he relieved the pressure by teasing & joking w/ her. Professional, eased tensions & exceptional service! He is a true leader. I hope his younger team mates listen & learn from him as this is the way one should be treated @ security. Traveling is stressful enough. Positive customer interactions not a militant one! I fly pretty often and dealing with TSA can sometimes be good and other times bad. Just returned from an overnight in ATL due to a flight change. I've been had to go through security in ATL and found that getting your personal items scanned was a little different from other airports. It was around 6am on a Monday morning and I wasn't clear on their bin procedure and ended up getting a nasty shout out from a female TSA employee. Needless to say, I wanted to give her a piece of my mind. Traveling is a stressful endeavor and we don't need these people to make matters worse. As a transportation worker I am required to have TWIC card, as a US merchant mariner I go through an extensive background search from homeland security aka the Coast Guard. The TWIC is just a way to extort money from us $125, already under the watchful eye of uncle sam. TSA doesn't recognize the MMD as a proof of citizenship, it says right on my document citizenship: USA, also it is required to be a US citizen to be a US merchant mariner. It took 6 weeks to get my TWIC this time when it should take 10 days, this organization is not performing to a reasonable expectation. When traveling and going through TSA checkpoints, I notice the workers are rude and short with the public, not sure what this is about but I have heard that their wages are low. I've flown for 35 years - 2 million miles on American. The TSA agents in Charlotte NC (many off them) bark out orders and act like prison guards. Full of themselves and love the power trip. Remember, we, the passengers and tax payers, pay your salaries. Get over yourselves and don't be afraid to offer a please or a thank you once in a while. TSA Pre-Check in Portland OR... First trip since last year. Tried to take advantage of my paid for Pre-Check lane in portland, near the D gates. Pre-Check lane was a bit of a haul and when I got to the end of it, it was closed down...with two lanes still occupied by agents...doing nothing. Lane turned us back to the regular lane. Went up, was whined at for not scanning the right code on my ticket. Not generally my job. Sent through the lane, required to take off shoes. I asked if this were new procedure for Pre-Check. I was told I was not Pre-Check. I told him to look at my ticket. He repeated that if I were Pre-Check I would have a blue card. Since I didn't have a blue card, I was not Pre-Check. Not sure if it was the stupidity of his easily verified bad logic or the arrogance and enjoyment he seemed to get from this that was more irritating. Call it a draw. Of course I got to be patted down for having my wallet in my pocket and also had to remove my belt. Hit the trifecta too, as they went through my bag. Making a mistake was bad. Being a bunch of asses was worse. PDX no longer on my list as a great airport and it's thanks to these jerks. read more

TSA at Terminal 1 Southwest Gates 1 & 2 continues to set the bar as low as possible for service. If only Southwest gave you a choice of gates, I would never us 1 & 2 for this reason. TSA pre-check means nothing in terms of line management and they never open the second line to ease the backup. Today there appeared to be an abundance of staff and management in attendance yet no relief for people trying to clear security. Unlike many other airports, I frequent (Phoenix, Sacramento, Salt Lake City), the TSA gate agents at this location specifically appear to specialize in a "surly" attitude. This is unfortunate because the majority of the TSA agents at San Diego Airport and nationally execute their duties with a great attitude doing what they can to assist stressed-out and inexperienced travelers. read more

I rarely (if ever!) write 1-star reviews because I tend to at least see small positives in everyone and everything. However, the TSA at O'Hare gladly earns this 1-star review. I've flown all across the country and received much better service and efficiency than here in my hometown. 1. CUSTOMER INTERACTION: It doesn't hurt to say good morning to people and acknowledge their presence! I get that we're not all morning people, but as a teacher, if I decided it was okay to be cranky to my students the first two hours of every day, I would feel horrible about myself. Every other city's TSA workers say hello! SAY HELLO. 2. JOB EFFICIENCY: They spend a ridiculous amount of time chatting amongst each other instead of helping customers (ex. my BF's bag that apparently needed to be checked sat on the side line for 25+ minutes while SIX workers just talked about their night despite me screaming "excuse me" to grab their attention. When they finally rescanned it, they said it was pulled in error and let us go. Waste of time). STAY FOCUSED. From beginning to end, the TSA team at O'Hare upsets me. Newark Airport (EWR) - they ask for your feedback with a little poll machine. However, when I pushed the button, I was harassed by a TSA agent who loudly started saying "what did you have to do? Wait 2 minutes?" When I tried to share my reason for the feedback, he yelled louder the same thing. Finally, I said, "It sounds like you really aren't interested in my feedback." And walked on. Anyway, they have a very unorganized process at this airport. I travel often and this is noticeable compared to other airports. It creates a lot of wait time. Also, the system with the bins does not guarantee that your items go through the X-ray around when you go through. My sister in law is both mentally and physically diabled. We went through the line with her in a wheelchair at the fargo airport. We were the only 2 people in line. They pulled her aside and basically felt her up. Rubbed something in a circle around her crotch. I couldn't afford to get kicked out so I could do nothing. If they had done it to me I would have cried. I sent in a complaint. I got told my complaint was incomplete because it was for the sake of someone else and I didn't have her written consent and I didn't name her. Basically someone who can barely read can be felt up by tsa and nobody can say or do anything about it. If I had been treated that way, I would have wanted to be anonymous. My guess is with nobody in line, they were bores, so they took advantage of the wheelchair or her leg braces setting something off in the scanners. The wheelchair was provided by the airport. So i am posting tbis for everyones review. Recent there was a flight from Salina Kansas to Regan DC. After the Airline lost the bags and they had to deliver them. When the bags were delivered and it was noticed that TSA went thru the bags. And when inventory was taken, was missing multiple pairs of women panties and other items. What gives these people the right to go through the bags and keep clothes and items from the luggage. They are a disgrace to the government and uniforms they wear. TSA held onto my luggage after they "cleared" my firearm was locked and secured. They then didnt bother to forward the luggage to my flight and I had to track it down and have the luggage sent to another airline to obtain it. Upon receipt of the luggage three days later the items in my bag were placed in my sons bag. This review is fot the TSA staff and facilities at Newark Airport. You are shuffled down a long narrow corridor. It was very hot and this was January 2nd. I can't imagine what people experience in the summer. TSA workers walk down the corridor yelling "Move to you left." Not asking, yelling. I felt like a prisoner. When you get to the area where you take your shoes off there is more yelling. As a citizen, who has not committed a crime...why am I being treated like a criminal? At KDFW, they steal from my bags and do not leave a note as to why. I have proof that TSA has stolen from my bag and I reported it to them. All they did was send a form letter to pacify me. I flew out of Lancaster, PA Airport today. After going through TSA they found a pocket knife in my backpack I had inadvertently forgot about. TSA agent Hanna gave me the option to take it to my car or voluntarily release it to their custody. I mentioned I had a checked bag and this thoughtful guy took the time to locate my bag and put the knife in it. He could of easily told me it wasn't his problem and I'm out a decent folding knife. Worst TSA agents in the country. The agents yelled at travelers and did random search/pat down with no explanations given. I flew from ORD recently. One of the female employees was making announcement, she yelled, "put your liquid in a plastic bag...if you want a bag search, be my guest!" - It was absolutely unnecessary and was abuse of power. One of the white female employees even threatened me by saying "Let's see what is in your bag", just because she got upset that I did not say thank you to her (because she was being extremely rude to me when checking my ID). She kept harassing/threatening me even after my bags went past the scanner without setting off the detector. She even asked a male colleague to pat my husband down for no reason. I can't believe these agents think they have the authority to retaliate against travelers by performing illegitimate bag check/pat down. Ridiculous. I fly on a weekly basis for work. I encounter multiple TSA agents all over the country, most are nice and I appreciate the effort they put forth to regulate security measures. Will Rogers Airport has the rudest I have ever encountered that threatens passengers as far as I'm concerned. "Officer" Wyatt stated, "People, there are two lines, form them or I'll come form them for you!" More efficient background checks should be made for TSA to check for mental stability to see if someone illicits behavior as a disturbed child that wants to be in a place of power. What if this man worked in patient care? He would be abusive. TSA, please set some guidelines, a some of these agents are going to take it too far and end in a law suit due to an angry passenger having a bad day. I fly from here on nearly a weekly basis. Like most airports' TSA, there's no clue what to expect. The variations and inconsistencies between experience, days, and officers is beyond frustrating. The lack of consistency in rules and regulations, despite them being clear on the TSA website, seems to vary on an ongoing basis according to the officers. My experience at the Chicago TSA check point has to be one of my best TSA experiences yet, equalled only by the one at the airport in Denver (where they move huge numbers of people through at lightning speed). I entered the rather long line to the TSA security checkpoint, and almost immediately one of the workers walked out to tell us that there was almost no line at the checkpoint down the way, so a small but intrepid group of us set out to find it. When we got there the line was maybe a tenth as long as our original line - Score! Then, one of the agents walked out to the line and apologized that they were taking so long (the line seemed pretty quick to me in comparison to the one at LAX) and decided to entertain us with a presidential trivia contest. The people in line must have been pretty well educated as there were relatively few wrong answers and quite a few correct ones. The only president to serve two nonconsecutive terms? Grover Cleveland was yelled out by over half the line with less than a two second pause. The youngest president elected to office? John F. Kennedy (please, give us a hard one, why don't you) The youngest president to ever serve? Okay, there was a five second pause before two people yelled out Theodore Roosevelt. The only other father son set of presidents other than George Bush and George H W Bush? Silence from the crowd, blank stares. Dang, I'm only a Kindergarten teacher, but I AM an American citizen, I should know this one. In a moment of inspiration I shout out "John Quincy Adams!" (Coincidentally, the name of the junior high school in Quincy, MA I attended for the last month of 6th grade) "Yes!" the TSA worker shouts out triumphantly, fixing his gaze on me, "but who was his pair?" Okay, now I'm taking off my shoes and glasses, unpacking both computer laptops and putting them in their own specials bins and placing the quart bag with liquids in the bin with my jacket. I'm a little distracted. The other one, what's his name? Well, much to my chagrine, it was not, I repeat NOT Samuel Adams, LOL. In my defense, I did yell out John Adams just as he was chuckling and saying "nope, that one's the beer" and then I was through the scanner and trying to compress everything to fit back into my carry on luggage - a magic feat worthy of Hermione herself and back on my way. The trip through the TSA checkpoint and the resulting scrutiny and pat down (why am I always wearing the jeans with the most bling on the back pockets and why do they never give me a cute guy to do the pat down) is never my favorite thing, but this one time went just a little smoother and was a little less annoying than usual.
