American Four of us…read morewere working in the area and wanted a decent dinner so we headed over to Whiskey Road. The place was medium full- that is to say, it was not totally jam packed. We got a table with no issue. Waitress arrived with and we got started with some drinks and apps. Honey garlic edamame was different and very good, queso dip was standard fare. For cocktails, we were all over the place: beers, wine and one guy had some whiskey. Frankly, I forgot what the others had but I ended up with a steak, which was fine. A second round of drinks and we were pretty much done with dinner - but we still had a decent amount of drinks left- and that is sort of when we started feeling rushed by the waitress. She asked a few times while we still had our entrees "if we wanted anything else" - which we felt was odd - it did not come across like "are you satisfied", it was more like do you want the bill? Weird vibe. We discussed it among ourselves that maybe she needed to get out and we were her last table but she came round again asking if we wanted the check and my buddy asked her is she was heading out and actually said no- she was there for a few hours more... so the whole thing was perplexing. Anyway, food was good- prices were average. Service was interesting. Maybe your experience will be better. Street parking

Our Bartender was wonderful, knowledgeable and quick. we listened to him answer questions constantly while balancing overall operations. Food: Brunch menu - B&Gs 10/10, Breakfast platter 9/10 Regular lunch menu - 1850 chicken sandwich was phenomenal and added the honey/bourbon sauce 10/10 worth the extra for the sauce Drinks: Full bar and a specialized menu, best part was coffee being available. The service really set this place apart and the food was tied for first with it. We will be back when we are in town.

We sat there with no greeting, no water, nothing. We were actually about to leave and head to Culver's when the gentleman who seated us noticed we still hadn't been acknowledged. He immediately stepped in to help, got drinks started, apologized for the delay, and even offered us a complimentary appetizer because of the lack of service. The appetizer was great, and his kindness completely changed the tone of the experience. He ended up taking our order and delivering our food as well. His attentiveness and genuine care were superb. Unfortunately, the meal itself was disappointing. We usually order the Reuben but decided to try the 1850 chicken sandwich this time. It arrived barely warm, looked unappealing, and the chicken was quite dry. Honestly, I probably would have enjoyed Culver's more. That said, the gentleman who took care of us made all the difference. I wish I had gotten his name because he truly deserves recognition. I left nearly a 20% tip because of him and honestly wish I could have left more. You have an absolute gem working for you. We'll likely be back, though not quite as confidently next time. Hopefully this was just an off lunch.

Here are our thoughts below! Food/Drink: Monster Cookie (Yum! This cookie was HUGE, soft, and delicious. Rating = 8/10). Hot Cinnamon Roll Latte (This tasted nearly identical to a warm, gooey, cinnamon roll! Be warned - it is a very sweet beverage. Rating = 7.7/10). Iced Hazelnut Latte (YES! This is basically almost as good as it gets when it comes to a latte. Absolutely scrumdidilyumptious. Rating = 9/10). Service: The service here could not have been better! Our barista's name was Brianna, and she had a phenomenal attitude. She looked excited to help us out and appears to love her job. Her passion for her job truly shined through during our time in the shop. Ambiance: As mentioned above, this review is based on our visit to the First Street location in Cedar Falls. It has a much different vibe than the College Hill location. The First Street location is not quite as "homey" as the College Hill cafe and has more of a coffee chain feel (not as much unique character that I typically enjoy with local coffee brands). The College Hill location, on the other hand, has much more personality. It is an excellent place to get some work done, read a book, or meet up with friends! All in all - we undoubtedly had a 5-star experience at Sidecar this past weekend. Excellent food and drink and some of the best service we've received in a while!
