Everything about Tsaocaa is so convenient now! I assume they have the same owner or have a partnership with Meet Noodles because they are operating out of Meet Noodles now. Originally, my tea leaked because of the lid but now they are super secure and have a leak proof mouthpiece that you can open and close. I finally got the Cheese Mango Tea and experienced the cheese foam. It's a very acquired taste and although I didn't love it, it was a unique taste. During COVID, Tsaocaa has switched to takeout only (though there is a nice bench right outside for sitting) and is actually operating from Meet Noodles in the same strip mall. You either order on the Meet Noodles website ahead of time or use the electronic kiosk in the store. So there is really no contact with the employees inside, though you can see them working hard! The place was churning out orders and even though we ordered with the kiosk, the drinks came out quickly I appreciate the diversity of flavors and toppings offered that are really hard to come by in Indianapolis. This included milk tea with fresh taro and conjac boba (these are a bit of an acquired taste, instead of being chewy like regular boba they are like a crunchy jelly. Don't order this by mistake if you're looking for regular boba!). The peach green tea was a little too sweet for me, despite being 25% sweet. The BEST milk tea you will ever have. I try to get something new every time I go, and I can say I have loved each drink I've gotten. I love that you place your order yourself at one of the two machines they have and you can customize it however you like it. It is always super quick in receiving your drink and everyone is always so nice. They also offer a punch card. You get a punch for each drink you purchase. Once you fill up your card, you get a free drink. Also, you get a free drink on your birthday & you do not have to sign up for anything, just show that it's your birthday! I have been craving some bubble tea and a visit to Tsaocaa was much needed! My husband got the Caramel Bubble Milk Black Tea with Dark Brown Sugar while I tried something new from my usual and got a Peach Green Tea with Peach Boba. The peach green tea was delicious and refreshing, I think it will be a new summer staple for me! The peach boba was one of those bursting bobas where it's liquid in the center and it bursts in your mouth upon contact. It was good but I think my personal preference is still the traditional chewy boba. It's like having a piece of California here in Indiana. My friend and I got the Caramel Bubble Milk Black Tea with Dark Brown Sugar on the recommendation of the cashier. The drink was flavored well and the boba (tapioca balls) were the right texture, soft but still a little chewy. The servings are a good size for the price and the lids have a convenient sip or straw (both small and large) option. The service is friendly and quick. The global boba tea phenomenon takes Indianapolis by storm. Or by a light shower. This is part of a chain that just opened up here in Indy. I don't know the brave soul who decided that this would survive here, but he/she has a titantium pair. I would not have invested money in this place in Indy - I'm skeptical that there's a critical mass of customers here. In Los Angeles, places like this are all over the place. I was in one where a couple of white cops walked in, ordered boba tea, and sat around slowly consuming them. Imagine two white IMPD cops walking into this place in their uniforms, ordering boba tea, and then enjoying them in public. Very squishy, soft bubbles. They are a caramel color so it's different than the normal black ones I've had before. The green tea was very fragrant but since it's like over $7 I probably won't get it again. They charge a random 4 cents transaction fee as well. read more

We were craving for boba tea and stumbled across this shop! They have a large selection of milk teas and desserts, including my favorite Korean shaved ice! The store itself is hidden in an off-putting strip mall, but don't be fooled. The inside is well lit, clean, and with a modern design. We tried three different boba teas (jasmine green milk tea, taro milk tea, and ruby milk tea) and loved them all. They are very traditional in taste and are not overly sweet like some of the other milk tea shops! The mango shaved ice was also very good. The ice is interestingly shaven very finely, not like the traditional chunky bits of ice. It made it a smoother consistency which we loved. We only wished it included more traditional toppings like red bean paste or mochi. Regardless, this place was a hit and we will definitely be back for more! read more

This is probably the best bubble tea place in Indy. If you aren't familiar with milk tea or bubble tea, it's a trend that started in Taiwan and has since spread all across the world. Tsaocaa has a variety of teas and sweets that will cater to consumers who love milk tea, and those who may not like dairy and tea together, i.e. the fruity drinks. You can customize how sweet you'd like your drink, the add-ins to enhance your tea experience, and also the ice level. I do find that their teas are on the sweeter side, so I like to order them at half sweet, but to each their own! My favorite tea is the Passionfruit and Lime green tea, and I also enjoy the Cheese Strawberry tea. The interior is very clean, but it is usually very busy, so you may or may not find seats to sit and hang out. There are also games that you can play while sipping on your tea or eating any of the sweets (rolled ice or shaved ice). If you do stop by and find that you like their drinks, they do have punch cards. Purchase nine drinks, and your tenth one is free! read more

Pro tip, you can ask them to adjust the sweetness based on whatever you want, which is great since their drinks are generally exceptionally sweet. The shop is cute and always very clean. There's plenty of room and a variety of tables to spread out on for work or with friends. I have never found the people who work there particularly friendly or helpful, and service is on the slower side, but my bubble tea always comes out consistently delicious. Having recently moved to Indianapolis from Seattle, I've had my fair share of incredible bubble tea (it's everywhere)! Here in Indy, it's proven very challenging to find. I was thrilled when I found this gem and couldn't pronounce the name! The authenticity of it is baked into every aspect of the organization and the drinks. THE LOCATION: Right off the bat, walking into the building, it's minimal, yet very inviting and comfortable! Sometimes these beverage places don't really have that vibe that makes you want to linger, but I could absolutely hang out here with friends or a date. I love that they have a porch as well. Not sure if it's theirs or the next door neighbor's, but either way, the outdoor seating makes this place a gem for summer nights! THE PEOPLE: Everyone working here is so friendly. They warmly invited me in when I got there and helped walk me through the specials on their menu. One of the girls there (not sure if she was the owner?) spent time too telling me more about how long they've been there and seemed genuinely excited for me to try it! I love when people are passionate about what they do. THE DRINKS: I ended up going with the Oreo and caramel milk tea which, frankly, I was a little nervous about. It seemed like a lot going on for a simple milk tea with boba. That said... my first words after I walked out and took my first sip were "....*expletive*... this is amazing!!". It was absolutely fantastic! The caramel and Oreo were more of accents and didn't overpower the purity of the milk tea. Gosh I loved it. I want another. Right now. They nailed the milk foam as well, which many places don't. It has that sweet and salty thing going on that the authentic locations have, proving to me that they're for real! The pearls were soft and delicious as well. The cups themselves randomly are remarkably high quality. The lid especially allows for both sipping from one side and using a straw on the other side. I'm a big fan of the cup tech they use. The cups are long and tall, robust, and super easy to hold which sounds strange, but you just need to experience it! They're part of the whole experience. I've said this in another review, and I'll say it again: I don't know what authentic boba is supposed taste like. I've never made boba, I've never made bubble tea from scratch, so I take the word of friends and authorities. What I CAN say with confidence is that from what I can tell and know: Tsaocaa is good. Not just good, it's...exquisite. It's one of the few places where the flavors you're told you're getting are really what you're getting. It's also one of the places where I'd go for the tea, NOT the boba. And that's speaking volumes, let me tell you. While the jasmine was a bit strong for my liking, the fruit-infused teas (some of their most popular) are by far my favorite. I can't personally do milk teas but I've been told their Caramel Bubble Milk Black Tea is a game-changer. They also have a punchcard, which I'm determined to fill up as quickly as possible. Although nestled in an unassuming strip mall and a little hard to find, Tsaocaa delivers on all fronts. (At the moment, they're re-open for pickup only through Meet Noodles, a few doors down. I think after having fantastic boba during my Dallas trip I set really high expectations on Tsaocaa. My experience was just ok...hopefully the next time I visit more than half their menu will be available...LOL. This first visit was at 12:45(ish) on a Sunday and requested taro milk tea with regular bubble in it. I was told that they were out of taro and none of the bubbles were ready, only some of the bobas were available. I was confused, because I thought bubble and boba were the same thing, but they apparently. When I asked for clarification the kid just said they are different. Okaaaay, so helpful. I ended up getting Rose milk tea with strawberry boba. After getting my order, I realized boba is the popping boba (sorry, that's the only name I know it by!) and I'm not a real fan of that kind of boba...but what are you gonna do. Ignoring the boba, the milk tea was really good! And I love packaging and appreciated cool, minimalist cup design--it's really quite sturdy and I've been reusing it for ice water at work. The interior is really clean, tiny with modern cafe decor. They had a lot of staff behind the tiny counter..5...I think? I suppose that also added to my irritation; if you are suppose to be open at 12, wouldn't some of your staff come in early to make sure all the bubbles/boba was ready? (insert shrugging emoji haha) If I do visit again I want to try rolled ice cream and maybe a snack item....or if they have taro milk tea with regular tapioca bubble available :P read more

On my way back to Ohio from Chicago, I stopped by Indianapolis. I'm glad that I stopped because I certainly didn't expect bubble tea in a place as black and white as Indianapolis. Not only is the bubble tea good, but the owner that I met was a friendly Chinese dude. The milk tea with pearls that I purchased certainly tasted strange. Instead, their ruby fruit tea was the star of the show. The ruby fruit tea was generous with the fruit, and the tea tasted strong. Definitely showed that the workers brewed the tea for an ample amount of time. The cup that the drinks come in make a nice souvenir. They are surprisingly sturdy and the cap comes with a little knob inside to prevent spills from the cup while your car is bouncing around as you drive. Parking is not an issue. Plenty of parking in the strip mall because the other businesses surrounding Tsaocaa are mostly dead. The best time to come for some bubble tea is after dinner: Around 8 PM. read more

The best boba I've had in the Midwest, by far! Prices are a little inflated (one star ding), but there are soooo many choices that it's definitely worth a try! I loved the double purple drink (may have botched the name, don't remember it exactly) because I love taro! They did great in having authentic taro flavor versus the typical powder flavor you get at other boba places. Also loved the oolong milk tea, which is a favorite of mine. The Uji Matcha was flavorful and rich with the matcha foam cap, but I just didn't enjoy it as much as the other two flavors. I typically love matcha, and it may be that I prefer it as simply tea rather than iced, sugary, and with boba. Be sure to adjust the sweetness level if you're on a diet, or prefer less sugary drinks in general! I would recommend no ice if you're a fast drinker, or you'll be left with a cup of ice read more

I almost went to the Chicago location when I was visiting my sister and was so bummed when we last minute couldn't go. I was so excited when I stumbled across the Indy location through yelp! My boyfriend is half Korean and gets a bubble tea every chance he gets. I brought him to this location with me and we loved it! We went specifically to enjoy bubble tea while on our computers. Loved the interior design. There is an outlet at every table which is convenient. This place is a hangout for families and friends. There are magazines and board games. My boyfriend spotted the game janggi which he described to me as the Korean version of Chess. It was really busy and all the tables were taken while we were ordering. We almost went to their outdoor table but were able to snag a table just in time. There are so so many drink combinations. For someone unfamiliar, I would probably say there are too many combinations given there are not a lot of pictures. I tried to ask questions, but the staff member seemed confused and wasn't able to answer them. I tried to look at other yelper's orders to pick something out and noticed there were differing sizes but I could not see which drinks were which size on the menu. I ordered the green tea milk tea with bubbles thinking it was the matcha one (but they are different). I didn't like the green tea one very much, but the ruby milk tea with amber bubbles was a little better. Overall, I took off a star because the drinks were a little pricey given there was no guidance on how/what to order with so much variance on the menu. Ok...this place is pretty legit. Their fruit teas are incredible. My daughter and I walked in on a Friday afternoon and had a great experience. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Since it was our first time we had lots of questions and they answered each one and gave us great suggestions on what to try. There are a ton of tea, milk tea, topping and dessert options. We ended up deciding on the colorful fruits green tea which has fresh cut fruit in it! and the More Than See You (Ice Grapefruit tea) which had a slushie type consistency. Both were hella good with just the right amount of sweetness. The shop has a very clean, modern atmosphere. It gives off a very peaceful vibe. This place is a dark horse. I think it's some of the best bubble tea I've had in my life. And im born/raised in Seattle! Cute ambiance, plentiful seating, and the self serve touchscreen kiosks are something I have yet to see in Seattle. I got the Rose Milk Tea, 75% sugar, less ice, brown sugar jelly (for some reason I thought this would be the spherical tapioca pearls, but I had a brain fart. Still decent). The Rose Milk Tea was divine. I could drink that all day. My girlfriend got the Jasmine Green Milk Tea. Solid, but I think the Rose beat it. I didn't find my drink too sugary. This place is vibin'. AAAH!! A legit boba place in Indy, finally. The milk tea is legit here, you can actually taste the tea! I got the Sakura milk tea with boba. The boba was a little harder than I'd prefer but still great quality. The plastic cup seems very durable and possibly reusable. It would be cool if they implemented some discount if you bring back your cup! The interior decor is nice and clean, and they provide some board games. It was semi hard to give a rating for this establishment, as my lady and I have tried them now 2 times. Weekend you first get there, they are either busy or not(full parking lot or not) /(long line or not). So you do not place an order quiet a person, you place it with a kiosk instead, which is semi safe for covid, but not convenient if you eat too have custom order based on what is offered. If you are going to offer drinks as far as a tea(herbal, milk, etc) you should allow custom options on the menu, not every custom is going to want cheese in their fruit tea drink, majority teas my partner tried to order on kiosk forcefully offered some foamy cheese in it, well I'm not for trying that as per health reasons. I feel other establishments may be better with how they offer custom orders, and do not force customers to go with what they select. I am unsure if we would give this place a 3rd try. Mainly the big issue is that need to work on their menu options, not all customers will go with what is forced, some like to have open options(custom orders) read more
