I'll be the first to admit I've largely been avoiding malls since the pandemic arrived. I finally made it back over to the Fashion Mall now that I'm vaccinated and still masked - I'd heard that Mimi Blue had some different sandwiches now and I also wanted to finally get myself to try out this location of HoiTea ToiTea, a locally owned tea shop located smack dab in the middle of the food court where Pinkberry used to be. I was concerned they might not survive the pandemic, but they are still here with what seems like a slightly expanded menu. They serve up Bubble Tea, Lemonades, Lattes, Brewed Teas, Coffee Lattes, Espresso, Hot Chocolate, French Press, and a delicious frozen dessert called Taro Vanilla Custard that you can get in a cup or cone (or both - ask them!) with eight possible toppings included (I believe just one of them, but I may be wrong) at a price of $5.95. This is a great location. It looks great in the mall and is well situated in terms of the pandemic. Entry and exit is well marked and all employees are masked. The mall itself requires masks and quite a few of the stores have clearly marked limits on entry clearly marked and enforced by employees. In terms of masks, I'd say the vast majority of folks were wearing though the usual "the nose is actually part of the face" issue is occasionally present. I actually got cut in line - something the young man working the counter saw and looked at me as if to say "Do you want me to enforce it?" To be honest, I knew I had no clue what I wanted or about the menu - so, I deferred (plus, they had a cute baby. It gave me time to make weird googly faces through my mask). That same young man ended up serving me (2 registers were open). He was quite friendly and helpful. He explained the menu, explained his favorites, and made sure I understand what each product was and anything in particular about it. It was patient and helpful. There was a sign about a reward program - I do wish he'd mentioned that but out of fairness I also didn't bring it up. I ended up ordering the Taro - a mildly sweet very starchy tuber often used in Asian desserts. It's known as being ideal for ice cream and I'll definitely reinforce that. It was amazing. I also got a chocolate topping. While it's relatively modest in size, it's quite good. From what I've read, the Taro is so starchy that making ice cream won't involve eggs (which is great for those of us with egg allergies). As a tea drinker, I look forward to trying their teas. I'm also a huge hot chocolate fan. And Espresso. And latte. I don't like bubble tea. I draw the line there. Seriously, this is a great place and it's close enough to the door that you can easily get in there and maintain pretty strong boundaries. Tables are situated well. I'd never had boba before and was drawn to Hoitea Toitea to try it for the first time. I was a bit anxious because I had no idea what to order but I was led in the right direction with a strawberry boba in raspberry hibiscus tea, lemonade and strawberry cane. It was delicious. The worker who recommended the drink said he drinks it like water and I can honestly see why. I love the drink I got and the employees who were awesome. The food looked tasty too and I feel like I missed out on it. Also, bonus points because I messaged the business later and you can bring your own cup to reduce single use plastic. I was informed there may be an upcharge depending on the size of the cup, but it's totally acceptable to bring your own cup. It was the grand opening for the store in the fashion mall, so i decided to stop by to give it a try. I had got the pineapple melon punch bubble tea lemonade and it was good. This was my first time ever trying a bubble tea and it was not bad at all. I will say the store is on the high end because I paid almost $9.50 for my drink which was a 32oz I believe. The store only had one size that I could tell. The location is a nice location in the food court of the mall. Also, the employees were friendly and they explained everything to me. Maybe I'm missing something here, but this place confuses me. The menu is very limited; and while I did enjoy my beverage, I would have liked a different one better I think. Cons: No prices listed? Or maybe I just didn't see them. So you can imagine my surprise when two drinks were almost $20. Yikes Please, dear cashier, do not offer me macarons. I saw them, I just didn't want any. I'm writing this review while I sip a steaming-hot mug of Vanilla Almond Coconut loose leaf tea from here. I hadn't realized that you could buy bags of tea leaves here in addition to actual drinks and it's made my start to this week that much better! There were mango mint loose leaf teas, blackberry mint, and bourbon fruit tea that I'll be back for too (those were my favorite ones after smelling them all). The girls and I were out shopping on a daddy daughter date and the girls really wanted bobba and we came across Hoi Tea Toi Tea and to be honest I usually have to doctor up the existing recipes/ formulas to get something as fruity as I like it and for the first time I really messed up by doing so. I asked for a tropical banana and I asked them to add a little acid and berry mix to it, Aria got just the tropical banana and Anya a pumpkin spice latte, and Aria's tropical banana was the best fruit smoothie I have ever had EVER! I went to tell Justin (one of the owners unbeknownst to me) to suggest that people not mix the flavor because they are are spot on especially the tropical banana, and he gave me a new one and it was my fault. With better coffee and tea options in the mall as well as right outside, I wouldn't choose here. My friend was in the mood for a hot boba, though, so we gave it a try this weekend. We approached the kiosk and were inspecting the large menu signage from a couple of yards away when a gentleman behind the counter shouted at us "What can I get for you?" We had to shout back because he was so far away "We're still deciding." He hurumphed and pointed to menus taped to the counter "We have menus right here." We backed off at that point so that we could still read the menu but be less visible to this very pushy barista. After we decided what we wanted, we approached the counter and a different person was ready to take our order. I ordered an Americano and my friend asked for a latte with boba. The clerk assured us that would be disgusting because boba aren't good hot. We assured her that my friend had lived in Korea where boba served in hot drinks is quite common. The clerk then engaged in fantasy play as some sort of boba expert and assured us that boba in Korea is differently from boba here. It's not. But she said it with total conviction. My friend gave up and said that it was fine if it was an iced latte then. We moved to the side. The barista making the drinks asked my friend what sort of flavoring or sweetner she wanted in her latte. My friend said she wanted it plain. When we got our drinks, the iced latte was vanilla. Plain does not mean vanilla. It means plain. I get that hot boba and plain lattes might not be every American mall goer's cup of tea, but it's ours. Make the drink we order, don't make choices for us based on your own tastes. Adding insult to injury, they used crushed ice in the latte. I've never seen crushed ice used in a cold latte, and definitely never in a boba drink. Because you can't suck the bobas through the straw when it's clogging with crushed ice. Absolutely absurd. On a more minor note, the espresso for my Americano seemed to be from a lungo pull. That's a pretty unusual way to do that, too. Not wrong necessarily, and the Americano wasn't bad. From the tea they serve (Nelson's Tea) to the warm personalities of the owners, I'm 100% smitten with HoiTea ToiTea. I got the Bourbon Ginger tea this visit, because I was in the mood for something different. I'm so glad I did! It's so good, and a nice herbal option to wind down the busy day. Along with their loose-leaf teas, they also sell alcohol (yes!) and variations on tea, such as tea lattes and such. They also sell baked goods like croissants filled with hazelnut chocolate. Macaroons. Need I say more? The macaroons at HoiTea ToiTea are magical. They are made with brewed tea from HoiTea ToiTea. They are made in Illinois and brought in. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because of the messy, unorganized, dirty set up they had. We were there for an event in the mall before they opened at 12 and the place was already a disaster. When you are sitting at the bar trying to enjoy your drink / snack the last thing you want to see is a mess. Just my opinion. In response to the owners hateful response to my review. I worked food industry for many years before graduating college. I do know that things can get disorganized. But I also know that what the customer sees while enjoying food/drink at your restaurant affects their view on the establishment. This Fashion Mall location was actually my first experience with HoiTea ToiTea although the Broad Ripple one has been opened for a while. The staff is very knowledgeable about the products and I love that they make useful and honest suggestions. They offer CBD oil as an add on to beverages and they offer hot and cold variations of a lot of options. I saw a sign that also advertised boba options so I will try that next time. I love boba tea and always get one whenever I see one. So, I was excited to see a new boba tea place at the food court in Fashion Mall and figured had to give them a try. Verdict: Disappointed and one of the worst I've ever had 1) Too much ice 2) Boba texture was weird - wasn't cooked right (slimy on the outside and very hard inside) . 3) Tea was water down and had an unpleasant after taste. 4) Way overpriced (almost $10 after all the up-charge for extra). So not worth it. I gave them 2 stars for their friendly service and presentation. This review is just for their tea, so I hope their coffee is better. The nickel and diming seems petty. If you enjoy tea I'd suggest stopping in at this place, I had only ever been to the broad ripple location, yesterday I changed that and can now say I've been to the one located in the fashion mall right in the middle of the food court where pink berry used to be. The staff is very friendly and will help you answer questions if you have any. The name gives it away they specialize in mostly tea, so you can have your standard tea, tea lattes, champagne cocktails with tea and then there are some different options to food. Tea is one of my favorite drinks so I asked if they had anything that was earl grey based, they said there didn't have anything that was specifically, earl grey but they did sell me on a lavender London fog latte which I really enjoyed. To go with the tea I decided to get one of their macaroons the flavors vary and I ended up with a bourbon pear that I had to pace myself with and not demolish in one bite. This review is only based off of one visit and purchasing one item. I've heard great things about this tea shop (mostly the BR location) so perhaps I'll need to visit again. The customer service wasn't awful but definitely sucked. Just a mumbling unfriendly person working the cash register. They weren't mean, but made me want to quickly end this interaction. The counter also just seemed a bit messy as well. I got a lavender dog macron. For the record, in the last two days I've also gotten macrons from the Gallery Pastry Shop and the Macron Bar, which specialize in this item and service delicious macrons. This one came out of a Rubbermaid container in a cooler (I watched him get it) so it was served cold. This made it much more "meh" tho I know it gets warm and sunny there in the middle of the mall, so I get the need to make them cool. But also the taste was very underwhelming. There was a sample of cold green tea (well, room temp by the time I got to it - they had it out a while) that tasted alright. So maybe yay for the tea (I'll try it if I ever return) but meh for macrons. read more

This place has friendly staff and a wide variety of tea options, in hot, cold, and latte forms. They also have some coffees and alcoholic beverages too. For your munchies, they have bagels, muffins, scones, and several types of cookies. Catering is also available through this shop. For those who have been to the shop in Broad Ripple, this is a little different experience. In BR, it is a tea shop that has merchandise and meals including soups and sandwiches. It is a place to sit and relax. The Keystone at the Crossing (KatC) location is a place to get in and go. It is located in the center of the food court with a circular counter. One spot you enter the ringed off area and place your order (note that they have paper menus for you to help yourself to so you can decide.) To the left is a place to pick up your order after paying and giving your name. In the space between the order and pickup counter is a display of the teas. I assume you may be able to smell the teas to help you decide, but I didn't. (I suggest asking the clerk before opening them.) Because teas require water heated to near boiling and then being allowed to steep for 3 to 5 minutes (dependent upon the type of tea), you will expect a small wait for your order. Fortunately there are lots of seating spaces near the shop. I played it safe and simply stood and waited for my Apricot Cream hot tea. The aroma and taste were really great. The only problem is that it was served too hot so that I had to wait another five to ten minutes for it to become drinkable. I make tea at home and watch my temperatures so that by the end of a five minute steep, I can drink it without a scalding risk. Not so lucky here. Blowing on an insulated cup which doesn't cool it off much, so I did get a bit of burn on the first sip. Seriously, if they had managed to keep the tea at more drinkable temp, I would have given five stars. It's nice to have a hot beverage option inside KatC. Shopping at the keystone crossing mall and needed to take a break. I didn't want to eat so this was perfect. A blueberry Açaí Banana smoothie!!! I told myself it was 100% healthy. I sat and relaxed in the food court. It was delicious. They have plenty of other drinks and flavors. Many in line with me were getting the boba drinks. Bubble tea is a favorite amongst me and my friends, and when we saw the Hoi Tea Toi Tea booth in the Fashion Mall's food court, we knew we had to stop by for a refreshment during our girls-day-out. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed with the limited flavor selection, and the lack of an option for substitutions. My friends and I all agreed that the bubble tea lemonades were delicious, but they would certainly be more enjoyable with more drink and less ice. One thing that would be really helpful is if the menu was displayed on large sign because the line would probably move faster if people knew what they wanted before they approached the ordering counter. Also, the prices are outrageous compared to other bubble tea shops in the area. One drink (which, to be fair, was served in a extra-large cup) cost me $9.54. Was in town for a business trip and was craving a good cup of tea. The closest thing near by was this location and decided to give it a try. Even though it had up and down reviews, I thought it was natural because of it's location. I was impressed with the simplicity of the business, but with the wide array of items on their menu. After my first experience, I thought it was because of the choice of tea I picked so the second time I asked them for recommendations based on my liking, and the response was "I don't know". They were out of tapioca so that was other disappointment. When I asked her what popping bubbles were (substitute for tapioca), she simply pointed to a jar. Well I don't have superpower to know how things taste by just looking at them. When I asked her what flavor would go well with the tea I'm getting, she didn't help. I was so excited to hear that my favorite place now has a second location! It's so much closer to my house and I often meet friends at the mall to walk around and shop so I am pumped to have a new place to grab a drink and treat. HoiTea ToiTea is the PERFECT place to stop in at the mall for a drink and a bite to eat. They have so many kinds of drinks so everyone will be happy! I love the seasonal teas. Took my first shot here last week. I got a smoothie; it waS quite good. Lots of fruit, nice greens. I added protein powder, which seemed to be vanilla flavoreD. I didn't care for that. But next tine I'll ask. I have no real complaints. . There was a lot to chose from. I had to ask for help. Almost too much to choose from. Luckily: Great service, quite helpful.
