This might be my favorite restaurant in Bowling Green. Try the Pho - it will change your life! So delicious. They have a wide variety of food to try. You can play it safe and get chicken teriyaki or be adventurous and try something you've never had before. I always get the pho because it is just so good and you can't get it anywhere else. This place is amazing! I had their Pho. I'm from The Bay Area in California where Pho is everywhere and when we moved to Kentucky we were on the hunt for a delicious place for some Pho. When I saw the menu basically covered the main, most popular dishes of each cuisine, I was hoping they will do a few things well. They should really focus on Vietnamese because they do that well. First, the not so good -- I had Hibachi Chicken. I was way over sauced and the chicken was a little dry. The rice was also on the dry side. It is no better than what you'd find at a Japanese place in a typical mall food court. Now, the better -- Vietnamese The spring rolls (pork and shrimp) was just OK. I've had fresher and better. It was a bit on the dry side and did not look as fresh as it should be. The flavoring depend only on the sauce. The Vermicelli was pretty good and well flavored. It is served cold when hits the spot. The best is the Bahn Mi sandwich was excellent! It was flavorful and the bread is outstanding. It had a nice texture to it. It's only $3.75 and could easily be a meal if your appetite is on the light side. I would recommend it highly either as an appetizer to share or as a meal. My first experience with pho, pronounced fa'. I have seen it on cooking shows and thought it is just broth. How good can it be? I mean I like broth soups, actually prefer them. But is it that good? I knew if I suggested it to my young peeps they would nose up on me quick while chanting Zaxby's.. Zaxby's. I knew I had to try it alone. I had seen on Yelp a picture of pho posted from a little Vietnamese place in Bowling Green. I bookmarked it and waited to try it. Luckily, I had a Dr's appt and needed a lunch. Aha! Yes.. Let's try the pho. I was hesitant at first because there was only one patron in the place. Oh no I thought. This may not be a good idea. A gentleman approached me gently waving me to a seat. I sat and ask to try the soup. (I didn't want to be embarrassed by saying it incorrect.) I chose the chicken and waited. The server brought a bottle of Hoisin Sauce and Sriracha Sauce. Then a plate of bean sprouts with fresh bay leaves with another side bowl. A different server bought my pho in a large bowl. The smell was so good! The server explained to pour each sauce in the bowl and try with the broth before adding to the big bowl. There was rice noodles, bits of I believe green onion, white onion and chicken. I like the hoisin sauce with a dab of sriracha. I absolutely loved it! The chicken was cut into flat tender slices. The rice noodles were just right, not too heavy for the broth. I looked around and realized I must of beat the lunch crowd because the place was filling up. Promising to return, I left with that good for you feeling of a satisfied lunch. We were so happy to find good Vietnamese in Bowling Green. Sometimes it's really hard, even in a larger city. Tsunami is both reasonably priced and delicious. The pho is authentic, with tasty broth that really doesn't need doctoring but is even better after some sriracha and hoisin sauce. The fresh spring rolls are exactly as advertised--fresh (believe me that's a struggle for some places to manage). And the chargrilled pork with fried egg are grilled without being carbonized (again, sometimes a struggle). I prefer the egg casserole, personally, but the fried egg works. I would give this place 5 stars if they had Vietnamese iced coffee and/or boba teas, but you can't always get everything you want in life. Its worth a try anyway. Excellent service and food! Prices are also ridiculously cheap! Unfortunately we don't live nearby or we would be here weekly. The Banh Mi (po'boy) was fantastic and so were the spring and summer rolls although we did ask for the more traditional nuoc mam sauce instead of the sweet sauce that was served with the fried egg rolls. I was raised on Vietnamese food and have high standards for it. The food was delicious and authentic. We only ate the Vietnamese food. I don't normally have good experiences at restaurants that serve more than one type of Asian food, but luckily this place is the excception. We will try to swing through again next time we travel this way. read more

I have eaten here twice now. It is a nice quiet and clean restaurant inside for eating in and can also get takeout. A lot of choices on the menu but both times I got something called Luc Lac which is like beef tips with a side of rice and fresh lettuce and tomato. I had my first Vietnamese dish here and I gotta say, it was awesome...blossom! We took our daughter here 3 years ago for her first mothers day. Great service and staff. The staff really want you to make an informed decision about your meal. I really like the general tso and the c4 I think it is. The tea is always sweet. My daughter loves the fish tank. Liked it so much, we ate there two nights in a row! And...we were only in town two nights! I had the Pho Ga, or pho with chicken, both times. My husband tried the pho with rare beef the second night. We loved them both and really enjoyed having the condiment plate (is that Thai basil? Tastes a little like lemongrass...but I'm sure about the sprouts, lime, sriracha and hoisin sauce) to add to taste. We feel guilty when we order dessert and so were delighted when we were offered FREE dessert...either vanilla or chocolate cake. We had the vanilla both times and it was moist and flavorful. Service was friendly and prompt both nights. The atmosphere is nice - red walls decorated with framed embroidered art - very pleasant and even romantic. The food: The cup of soup they bring out tastes just like a bullion cube was put into a little bit of water...with a few green onions pieces. I ordered the #V2. The chicken was brown, thin, and certainly not charred or even good. The vermicelli was just plain noodles, so I don't know if that is good or bad, but there was no cohesiveness with the other foods in the dish, and yes I tried the duck sauce with it all. The cut up cucumber was the best part. The lettuce was hard and dry. There was what looked to be some pink sausage in the dish that was gritty. The egg roll was good, but it was just one narrow one cut into 3 pieces. So needless to say I would not order this again, which is not for me to know because I won't be back. They offered me a free desert of Flan or chocolate cake. I declined as the people sitting across from me stated their desert tasted sour. Service: The waiter took my order promptly and the food arrived in about 8 min. He didn't come back till I had covered my bowl with my napkin. Asked if it was good and I said not really. There were two guys working the floor and they seemed rushed with only 7 people there just after lunch time. Building: The place looks clean, so I will suppose it was. There is a mirror all across one wall to make the place look bigger but IMO makes the place look cheap when it seemed so clean. The bathroom had cleaning supplies in it. Very good, the fact that this place is in Bowling Green is mind blowing, I can remember as a kid there was nothing here, certainly not good Vietnamese. The Pho here is very good, not the best I've had, but the best I've had in a long while, the Spring Rolls are likewise good, they just get let down a bit by the peanut sauce, the crab Rangoon is a little mediocre, but you can't nail everything I guess. The staff have been great, remembering me and bringing me my usual drink order with the menu ( like I need that ). Prices are good and the service/kitchen is fast, overall this place is a winner. read more

Here is a mixed review. We were in town cave hopping and my travel companions are Chinese. I lost the coin toss so we went here for noodles. They both got Pho and liked it. I am a Pho lover, but I wanted some grilled meat, so I choose the Hibachi Chicken. The hibachi chicken tasted like it was stir fried and slathered in this exceptionally sweet sauce. Not what you expect when you want dry grilled meats and veggies. It was edible, but oddly they threw in potato and I din't recall seing it as one of the veggies. I tried the Pho and it was awful in my opinion. It was exceptionally greasy, you could see it all over the top of the dish. However my companions loved it saying it was very homemade. Tasted to me like boiled cuck roast water. Normally you expect a good Pho to be lots of bone and deep protien taste. Cost was $8 for the Pho so you don't loose out on much, I have spent more on awful BBQ in that town. read more

We've eaten here many times, both sit down and take out, and have never had a bad experience. Servers are friendly and prompt. Chinese selections are basic but good, hibachi is yummy (no table side show so the prices are very reasonable) and the pho is the real thing. I'm giving Tsunami 3 stars based on numerous visits that were delightful - the pho here is top-notch and so, USUALLY, is the service! I want to rate higher, but my last visit there was something of a horror! Again, in the past I've always gotten excellent service here, but yesterday my friend and I were served by someone new. To begin with, our server was very unprofessional and was determined to stand by our table and make inappropriate small talk, even when it should have been clear this was unwanted! We came here to enjoy each other's company, not to have yours forced upon us!! It got worse when I decided to try something new (I usually get the pho which is great but wanted to branch out.) After trying to get a recommendation from the server (he was unhelpful) I chose the V4 meal on a whim. Well, when it came out it looked nothing like the picture which the server had told me showed the V4 and frankly was not my cup of tea. Not to say it was necessarily bad, just not my taste. This would have been fine, except that after trying two bites and deciding I didn't want any more, our waiter acted like there was nothing he could do to help me and even implied that it was my fault for not liking the dish! I had to talk to the manager before I got a bowl of pho in place of the unwanted V4. All in all, I really like this restaurant and I'll probably go back...but definitely will request a different server! Yikes! read more

I will admit I am a picky eater and do not often eat a variety of foods. My co workers kept talking about how good the food from Tsunami was and they all decided to order. To avoid being the only one not ordering I checked out their menu online to see if I could find a dish I might eat. My first thought was that the prices were very reasonable. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken (never had it before, ever). The order arrived quickly and the portions were generous. I very much enjoyed my meal as did my co-workers. I typically avoid Asian restaurants that claim to cook three different cuisines, but a friend recommended the Vietnamese menu items. We had the chicken pho and the grilled pork Banh mi. Both were delicious! The Banh mi was a full sandwich and enough for a meal (for $3.75!!!). I got the order to go, so I can't comment on the service.
