Shopped here multiple times and every time I've had a problem. I bought a homecoming dress from here a few years back and was having it altered. I came back the day they told me it should be ready(didn't tell me to call) and they couldn't find my dress. They ended up looking for probably 20 minutes and found it hidden somewhere and no alterations were done to it. Now my senior prom I walk into the store and was helped by a very nice lady but felt pressure by her and the designer Jimmy to buy a dress then and there. I ended up buying a dress and here I am 3 days before my prom still without my dress and keep getting told to "call back it'll be done on this day or definitely tomorrow" the past 2 weeks I have called to check on it. If you plan on buying anything from here do not get it altered here unless you want to wait until the day of your event. read more

They want your business in the beginning , but once the money is had, service falls apart. They promise a delivery date but the dress comes in late right before the event. They don't care about your predicament needing alterations done. No apologies or accommodations offered. read more

Buyer beware. Dresses are non refundable so don't be pressured into buying quickly. Also choose size carefully. The sample I tried on was perfect except for being a little tight in the sides so they ordered me one size up. They didn't offer to have me try on a sample in the size up and that should have been a red flag. The size up was still tight in the sides so they will charge me to tailor and let sides out. However, now I also need to have the sleeves taken up because it's too big. They generously offered a bridal tailoring discount as long as I pay upfront (obviously so people that don't use a tailor regularly won't realize their charge is exorbitant). If I could give this place no stars I would the owner jimmy is beyond unprofessional my dress was so wrong the sample I tried on wasn't what I received he offered to do alterations for one price and told me to come back after prom season when I came back they took the price up x3 we had a huge order and not one dress was right they gave one girl the wrong dress with the wrong size my dress never had a clamp on the back other girls clamp came right off when putting them on! this place is by far the type of place I would wanna give my money too when people are spending the money that we spent we should get grade A service and we got the total opposite never again will they get any of my money or my recommendation! read more

Just brought my daughter here to look for a Homecoming dress. Found the perfect dress that fit her to a "T". Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly and the designer quickly matched accessories to the dress while a salesperson found just the right shoes. We left with her entire outfit. She has prom in the Spring and I have two younger daughters who will eventually need formal dresses. They just established a loyal customer!! read more

Read reviews before picking a dress shop to order from. TT New York is a night mare. Ordered my daughters prom Dress march 19th, 2017. June 6, 2017 It never came in. When we asked what the problem was we were told by the "designer Jimmy Lee"(who is definitely NOT the designer of the dress we ordered) "it was ordered from China they are not sure it will get before prom on June 9, 2017". Pick an alternate dress, He said. We will alter it to what she wants, He said. Was fitted for alterations and told it will be ready for pick up Tuesday June 6, 2017. We get there and the alt dress was not altered and the original dress was still not in. Prom is June 9th. 3 days away. Jimmy lee threatened to call the cops on me...really?? Its my money they took and did not supply my dress who was he kidding. The manager Rachel should NOT be working with the public. Rudest Customer service i have ever dealt with. By far the worst experience I've ever had. My daughter and I went in the first week of August last year, homecoming was the last week of September so almost 8 weeks away. She found a dress in the store that she loved but it needed alterations. The owner jimmy lee was there and personally had her fitted. He Went through this whole thing about how he could make it longer so it was the same length all around and let it out a little because she needed more room at the top. I paid for he dress and alterations right there. They said 2 weeks. The time goes by and I call they say another 2 days. I call again they say it's ready. We go in she tries it on and the dress hasn't been touched. She tells me they did the alterations but she needs a bigger size and it has to be ordered. Originally jimmy lee said it was the last dress because it was discontinued and couldn't be ordered. So I'm like well I want my money back for alterations. That can't happen. He calls and says there was a mix up alterations weren't done but he would take care of it. Another 2 weeks goes by of me calling, emailing and going to the store with no response When the alterations were done it looked a mess. Uneven. Strings hanging all over the place. Just the most ridiculous thing over ever seen. I obviously refused to take the dress and made them redo it which took another 2 weeks. We went back again and once more the hem wasn't finished. It was frayed and looked terrible I was back and forth in that store so many times and Jimmy Lee continually lied about what was done and what he told me. We didn't get the dress until 2 days before homecoming. I will never step foot in that place again he is a terrible businessman, a liar and a cheat. Idk how he's still in business. I actually heard him tell a plus sized teenage girl who was just browsing for prom gowns in September to get ideas that she better buy the dress that day because she'd never find another dress in her size. Worst Experience Ever :( I would also give a negative 5 if I could. I wish I read these reviews before my mom had purchased a mother of the bride dress from this store. Worst customer service ever! Everyone promised a delivery date and none of them were met. This has been the most stressful part of the entire wedding planning process. We live in Canada, my mom saw a dress she liked and we were told it would be no hassle at all to have it shipped to Canada. My mom paid in full and for the shipping. They have yet to even receive the dress in store and it still needs to be shipped to us here in Canada and alterations need to be made. I have been told many times I will receive a call from one of the employees and they don't even follow through! Never order a dress from here!!!!! read more

I went to view dresses at the store based on the suggestion of a family member for an upcoming black-tie affair. The sales staff, while being attentive, did not really listen to what I wanted. I was looking for a tea length dress with sleeves. I even showed them a picture of the type of dress I wanted. They kept steering me towards dresses that were really not my style, in my price range, or the type of dress I stated I was looking for. As I was getting ready to leave (without a purchase) I was stopped by the "designer" Jimmy. After telling me type of dress I wanted "would not look good on someone my size" and I should trust what he was saying because he is a designer and this is his job. He proceeded to show me dresses from their catalog. The catalog had no prices listed for the dresses and after asking me the price range that I was willing to spend, came across a sleeveless tea length dress that was similar to the picture I showed them. The same type of dress that he stated would not look good on someone my size. Jimmy promised that all types of alterations could be made and assured me that the dress would be ready by the date I needed it (approx. a month later). Silly me, I paid for the dress in full and waited to be contacted so I could be fitted and alterations made. A little more than 2 weeks had passed and they never contacted me, I was nervous because that event was coming up in a few weeks and alterations needed to be made. I contacted the store by phone and was told the person I needed to speak with was never there and a message was taken. Finally about 10 days before the event, I was told my dress was on back order and wouldn't be received in time for my event. I asked for my money to be refunded and was told there are no refunds - but I could come to the store and select another dress. I had to call my credit card company to dispute the charge. The following day I get a call from Jimmy telling me my dress was in store - but it wasn't the color I wanted. When I stated that it wasn't the dress I wanted he tried to pretend that was what I ordered - fortunately I had a photo of the receipt that clearly showed it wasn't the case. Then he says that I can come in and look at their beautiful dresses and pick something out. When I repeatedly stated that I just wanted my money refunded, he got snarky and said "well you won't have a dress for your event". Fortunately, I had already ordered the same dress I showed them a picture of when I originally went into the store, so I was set. The dress I ordered was well made, fit perfectly, and was less than a third of what TTNY tried to charge me. Lesson learned! read more

My daughter and I have been to this store on several occasions and purchased 5 dresses so far for homecoming and prom. Each experience has been great. All sales associates were attentive honest helpful and kind. The owner jimmy has always helped us make the best decision for my daughter. She is a bigger girl and jimmy always makes it about her and how she feels and does whatever it takes to make sure she looks and feels beautiful. He is compassionate and kind. We never felt pressured into buying anything. Our next purchase will be buying her senior prom dress and I am looking forward to working with them again. I caution you to NEVER buy from TT New York. While I was looking for a prom dress, I was persistent on finding a dress with sleeves. There were many lovely dresses in the GTA area, but all of them were strapless so I decided to try my luck in the US. After many long and strenuous hours of shopping, I fell in love with a dress in the store window of TT New York. I tried on the dress and unfortunately it fit a little too tightly and had a few minor defects in it. The annoyingly cheerful sales associate told me I could have the dress made by the designer in New York City for the absurd price of $500, but I was so in love with this dress that I could not resist. I ordered the dress on April 23rd and was told it would be ready by the middle of May. When the end of May approached and I still had not heard anything about my dress, I began to persistently call the store every day. A different person always answered and told me the dress would be ready the following week. Eventually I got agitated and last night I called the store and was somewhat feisty on the phone. I was told the dress had just come in and I was welcome to pick it up the next day (today). I went to the TT NY location in Boulevard Mall today and they gave me the "new" dress to try on - however in the changeroom I discovered that the dress was still too tight and had the EXACT SAME defects in it. I argued with a woman for an hour over the dress, and she told me that the store gave no cash refunds and that all they could do was add a shitty, different-coloured panel to the sides of the dress in order to make it bigger. I did NOT pay $500 for a half-assed dress. Furthermore, when I asked to speak to management, she told me that the store had no manager and told me all I could do was call a 1800 number and hope for the best. At this point I began to cry, and she offered me an exchange if I were to find a better dress within the store. I managed to find a decent dress that I am still marginally unhappy with. I left with my new ugly dress and I still plan to get alterations done to it, which will cost me even more. Would HIGHLY suggest going elsewhere. I went prom dress shopping here a little while ago and it was one of the worst experiences I've had-no exaggeration. As soon as I got in the store it felt as though I was being harassed-I understand people need to make sales and want to be helpful but when the "designer"/owner of the store stands outside of a dressing room hounding me and my sisters, shouting over the dressing room door with 3 of his employees that's another thing. The so called owner had to keep bringing up the fact that he was TT New York "well I am the designer TT" at least 7291018373020 times. Okay TT I don't give a flying fuck. He had also lied about the sales/deals going on in order to pressure me into making a sale. He could tell I was younger-prom dress shopping obviously-so he kept trying to manipulate me and badgering me to ask my mom come to the store. I'm really not exaggerating I can deal with A LOT but this man I could not. Never again would I go to there. DRESSES WERE HIDEOUS, TACKY, and most of all looked GHETTO AS FUCK. Not worth the price BY ANY MEANS!! My suggestion save your money and go elsewhere. No need to waste astronomical amounts of money of such cheap and poorly made dresses meanwhile being bumfucked by a "designer" wouldn't even rate this one star. read more

This happened last year, but I thought this could be helpful for girls looking for prom dresses. I'll be frank, I'm a plus sized girl. I was looking for a dress to wear for my junior prom, and when I found their advertisements online, I thought I found my store. They advertised a large number of large gowns, so I had my dad drive me to the mall just to look in the store. First of all, the place was clean and looked professional. However that is the only good thing about this place! The saleswomen were just that: saleswomen. Every time I went browsing, they kept an eye on me like I was trying to steal something, as if I could fit one of their glittery cotton-candy gowns in my purse! The dresses were ugly, with only a few that I really liked. They were all revealing and terribly designed. I wanted something with an empire waist and could find nothing. There was nothing in my size to try on, so the saleswoman forced me into trying on a dress she said would fit but did not...I felt embarassed because I had to have her help me zip it in front of everyone, and my self esteem does not need that! She kept promising me that they could order any dress in my size, and she even took out her little book of already purchased dresses from my school and was about to put me down for a dress I tried on. She even mentioned putting money down on the dress before I even talked to my dad about it! They are specialists in pushing products on girls with open wallets and empty heads. Their return policy is obscure as well, as nothing can be returned for a full refund after only two weeks. The prices are outrageous as well, 759 dollars for a gray ball gown with zero charm. I left as soon as the saleswoman started asking me if I intended to lose weight before the prom. My dad was outraged at their lack of professionalism and kindness. I will never go back, and I advise any girl looking for a prom dress to do the same! They will take advantage of your self esteem to force you into buying a dress you do not like and cannot return. read more

Not even worth one star. Do not shop at this store! Ever!! When you go in the sales people gang up on you and high pressure you to buy buy buy. At no time do they tell you that all sales are final. You will find this out when you look at your receipt. Most high pressure selling I have ever experienced, non-stop. And then when you have a problem they send you to "corporate" office in NY, what a joke. It's some lady who works a half day "somewhere", once a week. So even though the store designer said I would get a refund (immediately after I bought the dress and needed to return it), they will only give store credit. Absolute horror show of a shop. My Mom and I went in looking at dresses for my wedding. She found a dress that fit and looked nice on her. They said they could take the top in a bit to snug it up a bit. They first told us that it would only be $20. So my Mom decided to get the dress and have it altered there. Well that was a big mistake. When they rang it up it was $40 and told us 2 weeks for alterations. So we called to find out if the dress was back. They told us no it would not be there till June. 2 months to take in and inch and only down maybe 3 inches. The customer service was horrid. She was nasty on the phone to me. Aug 19th My best friend and I go to find out dresses for the prom and award gala. Jimmylee who is the owner tells us the dresses will be in Aug 29 for pickup. Aug 29 I call and the Rep who answered says it won't be in for about 2 more weeks. No mam that won't do Jimmylee said the 29th and 2 weeks is too late so I need to cancel and get a reimbursement. I get placed on hold and when someone picks up it's Jimmylee and he's now saying "no you're a friend and the your dress will be here Friday (Sept 1) no later than Monday(Sept 4). I'm like ok I can't okay these games. TT New York always does my prom dresses I can't play. He swears up and down it will be here and that it shows my dress shipped and is on its way. I call on Tuesday Jimmylee is like it will be here by this Friday and it shows the dress shipped the 29th. Now wait, I thought you said last week when I called that it shipped. YOU LIED! I spent way too much and have been spending too much in your store for years for you to be lying to me. My seamstress calls and says the dress is over a week late and because of her schedule my dress won't be done in time. I try to cancel my dress and all of a sudden they don't give reimbursements only store credits. After Jimmylee specifically said the only way we can't get a reimbursement is if the dress is custom made. Neither of ours were custom made. Then they try to tell me that they can do my alterations. Absolutely not! First of all I'm not paying you a dime more to do anything with regard to this garment. Secondly you couldn't even tell me the truth about with my dress was going to get here. I'm definitely not going to trust you to alter my dress and get it back to me in time for my rent. So now I have to try to find another seamstress so that I won't have wasted over $400 on address. These people have no remorse for what happened. They also exhibited extremely terrible customer service. This entire transaction was based on a bold face lie. Because if it wasn't shipped until 29 August, then that means it was not ordered when it should have been ordered. I get a call from the store today which is Sept 7 telling me my dress is in but my best friend's dress is NOT! How when we purchased them 20 minutes apart. This man is a cheat and a lie!!! read more

I would never ever recommend anyone to shop at TT New York!! RACHEL ruined my wedding and think it's ok. My maid of honor couldn't be in my wedding thanks to Rachel who ordered her the wrong size dress it was 2 days before my wedding that this was brought to my attention!! Rachel didn't even apologize she just act like ut was no big deal and that's what pissed me off the most!!! How could you call yourself a manager ans be so rude!!! I have called customer service over a week ago and still haven't heard from them!!! Guess my next step will be court!!! It's so many things rhat went wrong with this store!!! Did not have a pleasant experience buying a prom dress here. First they make you pay full price when you order the dress. Originally told us the dress would arrive in 6 weeks then when we called at that time we were told that there was a delay and that it would be taking another 5-6 weeks for delivery. Upon arrival we noticed that the beading on the dress differed in color and design from the original. We were told that because the dress was made in China, sometimes the dress will not match exactly the one that you tried on in the first place! Ridiculous!! The quality of the workmanship was not great either... there were several loose threads and some of the beads have since fallen off. We emailed customer service and they offered to fix the threads. Unfortunately due to short time frame till prom, we will have our own seamstress deal with this. I emailed them back to see if they could offer us any other recourse but not surprisingly have not heard anything back from them. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!! read more

This place is awful. I've never felt so uncomfortable in a store. The guy who makes the dresses was there and harassed me the whole time, making me try stuff on for him. I know some people like that kind of thing, but not everyone. There are no mirrors in the dressing rooms, which means they make you come out to see yourself, even if you look awful. I am a heavier girl, and it was just humiliating. I even heard the guy and one of the store associates laughing at me while I was changing into another dress. I was uncomfortable to begin with, having to shop for an event dress, and they just made it that much worse. The guy basically forced me to buy the dress, even though it wasn't all that comfortable for me. He kept going on and on and just wouldn't leave me alone. He even called me "princess" at one point, which I found extremely sexist and upsetting. I am not a child. Then a few days later, after spending 150 dollars, I found a really comfortable dress that fit me better in a friends closet, but the store would not take the dress back, even though I have proof that my event had not happened yet.
