We wanted to update our tub and shower surrounds to something more seamless (read: no annoying shower grout to clean) and also classic. We had two bathrooms done, and they did a great job filling in the existing footprint on each surround. In one of our bathrooms, the laminate needed to go over the ceiling, and in the other, it only needed to go up to the top of the wall. Tub Cove also updated our plumbing. After they did the demolition work, they found CPVC plumbing. We knew this was a possibility and had already discussed having them update it to PEX on a time and materials basis. They installed the new plumbing the same day, and it didn't delay our bathroom completion. Our new tub footprint is slightly smaller than our old one, so they put a strip of marble flooring down to connect it to the existing tile flooring; we were a little concerned that this might look strange, but it actually looks natural. Overall, we're happy with how everything turned out. It took three weeks from when we first contacted Tub Cove to when our new tubs and surrounds were installed. We hired Tub Cove for a bathroom remodel and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience from start to finish. From the outset, we raised concerns about the condition of the existing floor and flagged that the subfloor would need to be properly leveled before new flooring and the bathtub were installed. Despite this, Tub Cove's contractor declined to demo the old floor and instead installed the new flooring directly over the old linoleum, along with the new tub. This shortcut left a sizeable gap--large enough to fit a hand--between the tub and the floor. When we pointed out how unacceptable this was, the proposed "fix" was to glue a marble strip in front of the tub so "you'd never notice." Their own response was that photos on their website only show "perfect jobs," which was hardly reassuring. We insisted the issue be corrected. The workmanship throughout the project was inconsistent at best. Examples included: Sloppy drywall mudding that had to be redone. Gaps in trim work that were cut short and nailed in anyway. Caulking that was messy and clearly not watertight. The bathtub being damaged during installation that required repairs before it was even used due to demo work being done around the unprotected bathtub. Missing tile and incorrect estimates that caused delays. The tile work was subbed out and not done to expectations. They had to come back twice to address tile that was installed incorrectly or cracked. We also ended up doing significant drywall prep ourselves--work that was supposed to be included in the original scope of the contract. For this we were credited some money back. While one of their senior employees, Allen, was professional, efficient, and clearly skilled, he was brought in late in the project. If he had led the job from the start, things might have gone differently. On the business side, we also encountered troubling practices. Tub Cove repeatedly pressed us for progress payments even though our contract clearly stated final payment was due upon completion. After we did pay in full, we learned their subcontractor (Alex) had not been paid for our job, despite the funds being in Tub Cove's possession. This raised serious concerns about their financial management and created risk of a mechanic's lien on our home. We had to initiate a dispute through American Express to protect ourselves and ensure the subcontractor was made whole. Bottom line: We cannot recommend Tub Cove. The project was plagued by poor execution, shortcuts, and unprofessional handling of payments. We were advised at the outset that this work would take five days, which seemed ambitious. We expected two weeks. Instead, it took five weeks. If you are considering them, proceed with extreme caution--and insist on clear progress milestones, airtight contracts, and detailed oversight of their subcontractors. read more

Their installers are great but the program managers (Lexi and Alexia) who handled the project were not clear on what would and would not be covered. When I first signed the contract with them I had a verbal agreement from them that they would include the shower fixtures into the cost of the contract itself. There was no place in the contract itself to specify who would be covering the cost of the fixtures themselves. They were however clear that the cost of the faucets was not included in the price and was on me to cover. Due to this miscommunication they provided a verbal agreement that they would reimbursing the cost of the shower fixtures. However when it came time for the payment they mentioned because no contract was signed for it they would not honor reimbursement. At the end of the day this became a he said, she said disagreement which I did not feel like having over a $170 price difference. read more

Here we are, less than 4 years later and the shower install that Tub Cove did in 2020 needs to be replaced. The shower rail/slider is bad and you can see where thr wall is starting to separate from the basin. Calling Tub Cove for help was a joke. They tried to blame it on the sub contractor but they wouldn't look up the information for me to contact. This is a bad company to do business with. read more

Poor business practice - do NOT recommend. We hired Tub Cove, based on our contractor's recommendation, to do the shower in a bathroom remodel (our contractor did the rest and he is amazing). The shower turned out beautifully but I would absolutely find someone else for our next bathroom and cannot recommend them based on our experience. Our contractor has worked with them for many years and agrees the business practices have declined recently. Communication was frustrating - miscommunication internally (wrong parts ordered), hard to get a hold of the project manager, and not clear communication about the timeline/next steps without me reaching out. The biggest issue though is that the owner, who pushed us to sign a contract at the end of the year, did not properly account for the cost of a subcontractor and decided to come back after everything was completed to ask for the difference. Very poor business practice. I ultimately offered a portion in good faith while pointing all of this out and while he said that customer satisfaction was important to them, he still wanted the money. From the first meeting with the design center to the people who measured to the demo and the install, Tub Cove was extremely professional and very very nice to deal with. I replaced an old and ugly walk-in shower with a soaking tub/shower combo. There were a few bumps in the road that were no one's fault as there can be when remodeling. I was very pleased with how these issues were handled by the Tub Cove team. The focus was on finding the best solution for me, and resolving the issues quickly and easily. To resolve these unforeseen issues required two extra trips to my home, and this was done in as timely a fashion as I could have wished. I was also very impressed with all the interactions that I had with the Tub Cove team on site. In addition to being knowledgeable and competent, all of the demo/installation team were very polite and considerate of me and my property, which I have not always found to be the case with other vendors in the past. This is the third time I've used Tub Cove. The first was around 1990, when they supplied the tub surround, but I installed it in my bathroom. Fast forward to 2018, and they replaced an old tub with a shower in my MIL rental. And this time, Jose and Austin came to replace my original tub with a shower. I removed the old surround and sheet rock, but Austin used his muscles to lift out the tub, with ease! He was always polite and friendly and both he and Jose were efficient and worked fast. The product is cool, I like how easy to clean and simple it is. I have never had such a horrific service experience though. The guy stood in the doorway while I went in the bathroom to get something, and when I tried to leave he touched me while saying "you're sexy". I don't really need to say more than that, do I? He also left nails on the floor and debris on every surface of the bathroom. UPDATE: I have never been contacted by anyone from this company. My tub looks awesome. I hate dirty grout and wanted something seamless and sharp looking. They had a huge selection of samples and the install was only 2weeks out. The owner was really nice & even showed me the shop where they curl the Formica. The guy who installed was on time and I felt totally comfortable leaving for work with him to lock up. I can't recommend these folks enough. Every single person we dealt with, from Shelley on the phone to Dan (?) who came out and did the estimate, to the guys who did the work (1 guy on day 1 to do the tub, guy #2 the following day to do the surround and trim), were courteous, answered questions, and in the case of the guys who put in the tub and surround, very clean and took care to move furniture so they could get a tarp down and use that for a work space. Our new house had an old "all in one" tub and surround insert that had cracks, and "bounced" as a result. We went with a new tub and Formica surround. Dozens of colors to choose from and Shelley helped make sure we picked the right white for the edging. (So many different whites!) Don't know how their prices compare to others, but this is the company to hire. Locally owned, not a franchise, which is also important to us. And our tub looks awesome!! read more

This is a shout out to Jose and Austin at Tub Cove who did an excellent job of removing my very deep tub tiled walls. The tub is too deep for a short person like me, so am having a walk-in shower installed hopefully by the end of this next week. When Austin and Jose were here, they worked steadily, as neatly as they could be when taking out a tub and the tile siding along the walls of the tub, etc. - they even swept up afterwards. I wish I could recommend this company as there are some kind folks who work there. Unfortunately, the person who did our installation did not do a good job and did not clean up after the job was done. When he came out to fix the failed laminate, he apologized for not cleaning up after himself. But then when he was done, he asked me if he'd cleaned to my satisfaction -- and argued with me when I pointed out the adhesive he'd dropped on the tub. He then accused "somebody" (i.e., my husband or me) of sabotaging his original work. The work involved removing ceramic tile. Not cleaning up meant that there were shards of ceramic left throughout our bathroom, foyer, and down the hall of my building. This was a safety hazard. Since the mess followed him out to the parking lot, I had to clean after him so that it did not cause injury to my neighbors or result in me getting a fine from my homeowner's association. While the product itself has been fixed and looks fine, I did not appreciate having to clean up after the worker or dealing with his unprofessional interactions--especially since I'd expressed reservations about having the same person come back to repair. I shared my concerns about the second visit and asked for consideration of my time in the final bill on 4/9/18. Shelley at TubCove agreed the behavior was unacceptable and that she would forward my concerns to the company owner in Arizona. I have yet to receive a response but will update this review should I hear back. UPDATED: I changed my rating from 2 to 3 stars. TubCove's owner called me to apologize for the service we received from the installer. During our conversation, he said they talked with the installer who admitted to skipping "a critical step" in the installation, which resulted in the failure of the product. They gave me a quote that included a wallboard install. 3 weeks after the quote I called and asked why no one has scheduled the wallboard installation as my cove install date was just a few days away. They told me they fired the scheduling person. I said I would just do the wallboard myself and please subtract the labor and materials from the total. Jeremie agreed. As he hung up the phone I could hear him screaming profanities. I did the wallboard myself and the following monday the installer came and installed the cove. Apartment Unit. Needed a cost-effective basic tub cove installed between tenants. TubCove was fantastic in scheduling around my departing tenant's needs. But the install exceeded fantastic. The 50 year old showerhead broke off behind the wall. The installer notified me, clearly explained our options, then was competent enough to affect the repair without shutting down the project. Left the space immaculate! Possibly some penny-cheaper options out there, but I've found my shower stall folk! Fully recommended! read more

They replaced my tub and did a decent job. The drain plug stopped working so I called to have someone come out. They scheduled me for a morning appointment, I stayed home from work to meet someone. About 20 min after my appointment was scheduled, I called to see where they were. They informed me that they won't come out to my area just to check the plug..? Could you tell me that BEFORE I take the time off work? Like when you "schedule" said appointment..? Very annoyed. They said they would call if they have any work in my area.. I just had a new tub surround installed from Tub Cove. The whole process from beginning to end was seamless. First Scott came by to give me an estimate. He was right on time and very friendly. Next, I went into their showroom on Lake City Way and met Shelley. She was so friendly and helpful. She spent quite a bit of time with me picking out a color and pattern and I never felt rushed. She told how the whole process worked an she called me when the laminate came in. We set an appointment and on the day of install, Benjamin came. He was right on time, very polite and friendly. He got to work right away, layer tarps down on the floors, and cleaned up when he was done. It only took about 5 hours or so. I can't say enough good things about this local company. read more

We use Tub Cove to do all the tub surrounds as we remodel our apartments; they cost a bit more, but the work is done in one day and it holds up well and is easy to clean. They would get 5 stars, except that we have had difficulty with their plumber in the past (not with the work, but with getting him to actually DO the work) and their plumbing cost is pretty high. As far as the tub surrounds go, however, we love their work, and it's always a joy working with Shelley in the office. read more

I needed to replace a tile enclosure that was not installed properly. Tub cove gave a fair quote and came very highly recommended by my friend who is a contractor. They were able to get us on their schedule quickly and they did an excellent job. When problems came up from the previous install, they addressed them quickly. We ended up needing to replace the tub unexpectedly and they got a new tub in the same day. Installation ended up taking twice as long as expected but they took care of all the issues that needed to be addressed, which I really appreciate.
