My family and I decided to try out Tubbies. This is a great spot for a relaxed family breakfast! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff treat you like old friends. Bring a little sunshine to brunch? Perhaps or perhaps not! If Tubbies' name reminds you of a kids TV show with a sun baby, it's because this is a brunch spot. Turns out this is a local favourite that's packed on weekends. Our order of Tubbies Big Breakfast ($27) was pricey but came with two plates that included sausages, peameal bacon, bacon strips, plus 3 over easy eggs, toast, tater tots and French toast. This did not disappoint and was too much to finish in one meal. Crispy tater tots were delightful as were the thick dusted French toasts. From the Tiny Tubbies menu, we also enjoyed 2 eggs sunny side up with sausage, more tater tots and toast ($10). For food, everything was done just right for this simple brunch with no complaints. The weekend menu includes burgers, wraps & wings after 1pm for lunch. I think the theme here is to go big or stay home! Update: unfortunately second time visiting it was a night-and-day difference. Service was inattentive and unnecessarily informed us that brunch time would be limited to 1.25 hrs seating making the experience feel rushed. Waiters didn't bother to check up and required reminders (twice in some case) for jam, water and the bill. A table was also unnecessarily squeezed beside ours for a solo diner when the area it was moved from had the same space. Machine was set to 18% tip by default but obviously I had to decrease that introducing family members to a poor $70 brunch expense. Skip it or hit it? It's a skip now for us. read more

Was in Vaughan for a basketball tournament and after our first game, there was a two hour break so we looked for the best breakfast spot nearby. Tubbies came recommended by the teachers who were in the area. Parking situation is a little crazy cause it's a busy-ish plaza, but the atmosphere of the restaurant itself was fantastic. The food came out quite fast and there was no compromise on quality. Definitely would recommend coming back to this spot as a service was amazing. If you're in the Woodbridge area, I definitely recommend trying this place out. read more

The service was amazing on a Saturday morning before 10am I got a seat within seconds! Party of 3, we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, friendly staff and fast service. This was such a treat and I can't believe it took me so long to discover it! Immediately greeted by a great atmosphere of chatter and welcoming decor. The manager, Angie, seated us with a big smile and such friendliness. I was giving this a big ol' thumbs up before even trying the food! Our server was helpful with recommendations and fast with the coffee. Menu has a good variety. I'd say pretty typical pricing, leaning on the pricey side for diner food, but worth it. Do not let the name fool you. This restaurant was tasty and full of laughs! right when my friend and I came in we were greeted by the waiter. He was an older gentleman who has spent years working in the hospitality business and it shows. This restaurant focuses on burgers, fries and steak. I had the buffalo ranch wrap. The waiter told me it would be big but I had no idea how BIG it would be. They could have been a bit more heavy handed on the heat but that is okay. I did order a side of fries. Fries have a special place in my heart and they have to be HOT and they were. Yipeee! My friend ordered the steak. I was a bit hesitant but the meat is from a local butcher and was seasoned and cooked to perfection. My friend prefer medium. Not my cup of tea but it was delicious. read more

We were seated as soon as we arrived. We did not see a waitress for 25 minutes and it took another 10 minutes to get a coffee. The food was in another 10 minutes. If you are understaffed then don't open as many seat seats. There was a help wanted sign in the window. The waitress was not very pleasant and was obviously not happy. This is the second time in less than a year this has happened so I will not return. read more

Staff were very attentive...various staff members dropped by several times to check on us. Food was average...portion sizes fairly large. I ordered egg whites ..there was way too much but it was cooked perfectly. My meal consisted of egg whites, 2 slices bacon, 2 slices of ham, multi grain bread, potato wedges. Food wasn't an issue. My only real complaint was the cold air which blew through the restaurant every time the door opened. I'd definitely return if in the area. read more

Thought we would give this place a try since we love brunch! However, it went downhill quickly. Our entrees were cold (we each ordered an egg dish with potatoS). The potatoes were cold and not fresh (from a frozen bag for sure). The eggs were cold and my husbands brisket was not cooked enough. The overall taste was very bland and their "fruit cup" had maybe 5 tiny pieces some of which were moldy. We told the staff and they took the potatoes off our bill. Now, I would've gone back here to give them a second chance, however the owner has since reached out/stalked me on social media and has not left me alone. He's bullying me, chastising and begging me to take down my honest review. He hasn't stopped and is exhibiting very unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. We went to Tubbies after a rather upsetting funeral service. We were a party of 15 and we arrived shortly before 9am on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was still not busy, as it usually is. I have eaten there many times before. Upon arriving we were greeted by the manager who looked quite surprised when I told him how many people we were. He asked if we made a reservation to which I replied that I was told that they did not take reservations. He stated that they do before 9am. I apologized to which he replied that "it was poor management on my part". As a former restauranteur, I think that this comment was extemely unprofessional and uncalled for. When business walks in the door, you should be grateful. I felt that he seemed annoyed, stating that there was not enough staff and we would probably have a wait. I fully understand that but a better response would of been "we will do our best to accomodate your party". Had it been any other time, I would of walked out and gone to another breakfast place but we were all already there so I did not want to make a scene. Needless to say that many, if not all of us, will not be patrons of Tubbies again. I must commend the waitress that served us. She was amazing!! She got our orders in quickly, served us our coffee and remembered who ordered what. She was very pleasant and efficient. read more

We also things missing from our table like syrup and pepper. We asked for it but we did have to remind them to bring it again. Overall it was good portions and food for the price. When it first opened the portions were huge and it was a great value. Then as months went on the portions got smaller and the prices went up as well as everything was now a la cart. For example the burgers used to be with fries and then they made the prices less but took away the fries and the burgers got smaller. Went the other day and the price went back up to what it was and still the fires are an add on. Also order the holiday special of a hot Turkey sandwich for &16.99 and it was advertised as a Turkey greasy on Texas toast and smothered in gravy with no side and no potatoes. When I got my meal it was regular sliced Turkey like you would buy in the supermarket and the gravy was for dipping. Not worth the price on my opinion. $17 got a sandwich it Keg pricing but not a steak sandwich it's literally deli sliced Turkey great. Not impressed and don't know if I will continue to go we have been there at least a dozen times since they opened. read more

My son doesn't like breakfast foods, so we rarely get a chance to go. We saw this place with an expansive menu and thought we hit gold. Food looks so good. He wanted a burger but come to find out they don't serve lunch/dinner until 4pm. We understood but simply asked if they could fry some chicken strips for him, because they were serving chicken and waffles. Easy thing to do. They declined. It's our first time and it's a great find. We were already planning our second visit despite not ordering because we wanted try most of their items. Our decision to come back was solidified because of how good the food was. Their burger was properly seasoned! and it wasn't relying on the sauces for it to be edible. I could eat the burger by itself, no bun! Service was delightful, staff was prompt and approachable. Ambiance is welcoming, we prefer being in the side seats because they're comfortable and the Leafs game was on... so it added value to the experience!! read more
