Downhill sums up the experience I've had. Service is great when the gentleman works. Poor was the service today as the young lady that didn't even know what a best used by date was on the tubbys dressing label. I returned it because they were selling expired sauce. She said after I called about it that it was a misprint on the bottle. I don't think it should be sold like that or at least make it known visibly. The young lady couldn't event count the change correctly. If it cost me $6.90 and you give me $0.10 back then me giving her $0.10 should lead to $7 returned. It didn't. She handed me incorrect change and had an emotionless face when I asked for the correct amount. Her family must own the location because she was so nonchalant and couldn't even tell me when a manager would be present. Won't be back anytime soon. read more

Horrible customer service. Extremely rude. And could care less for your business. I'm being totally transparent. The particular Tubby's is located inside of an Exxon Gas station. I only tried the mushroom steak and cheese, so that is all I can rate this location on. The sandwich was subpar and dry in comparison to the stand alone locations. I will bypass this location and go to the one on Telegraph near Taylor or the location on GrandRiver in Redford/Farmington. Do not waste your money, you will thank me later. read more

The only thing I've ever gotten from tubbys were chicken salads and I think this place had the sorriest one with little chicken. I asked for an exchange not even a refund and they couldn't do that even though that's not posted. I'm not sure if this was the portion that goes in a side salad but it's laughable. I would've gotten more chicken on a sub that would've been cheaper to buy but more expensive to make. read more

I'm finding that Tubby's these days have a wide variety of what each store is like. It seems to be the have's and the have not's. Being that this isn't the fanciest side of town, I tend to keep my expectations to a minimum and I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this location was. I came here today because I didn't feel like going to my regular location. It's a few extra miles out of the way, but I'm really glad I did. The gas station here is clean as heck, and the Tubby's inside is really nice as well. Being that it was lunch hour, there was a line, but it wasn't to bad. They had a girl on register and a girl on the grill. I placed my order and they got right to cooking my food. Considering that the guy ahead of me ordered a boat load of stuff, I didn't have to wait very long. Everything was made correctly and I would gladly come here again. Overall it's a really nice location! If you want chips or pop, you can purchase it in the gas station, which is pretty convenient and easy. They also have a few tables in here if you need to sit down to eat your food. read more

Very poor customer service, my dad eats here everyday and they were really rude to me when I asked for a cup of water because my stomach was upset and couldn't eat their food. They wanted to charge me $0.50 for a 6oz Styrofoam cup of water. I went to pay with credit card and they said they have a $5.00 minimum purchase on credit so they would have to charge me $5.00 for a cup of water. read more

worst tubbys ever! worst establishment ever! i purchased a large steak sub, !!!no cheese!!!... extra lettuce and extra tomatoes... total came to $16 and some change. i get to work and its cheese on the sandwich. i called, the same man who took my order answered. i let him know i just left and the order was incorrect because of the added cheese. he yelled to a lady named natasha that he specifically told her not to add cheese. i told him again, the sandwich had cheese on it and ill be there to bring the sandwich back & get a refund . he said ok. i get there with the sandwich. this man opened the sandwich went through the sandwich with his finger and said he didnt see cheese. i said sir, there is cheese on the sandwich and want my money back. he threw the sandwich away in the garbage. i said, give me that sandwich back because im about to call the police. he said no, call the police, im making you another sandwich!!!! i called the police. they of course took all day to come. i left... moral to the story is dont come here. these people arent honest. they are unfair dishonest, incompetent, petty, liars, broke af, unskilled, unprofessional and will have you in jail for life for fcking them up real bad... save yourself read more

I thought I reviewed this location about 2-3 years ago, but I don't see it anymore. The gas station is in great condition, especially for a ghetto area. This place was great for getting gas, a sub, and some cheap beer for sports. The grilled subs taste almost as great as Original SUBS. I had ten 5 dollar gift cards given as a gift, and decided to use it with the 1 dollar off coupon for a large or regular sub. This worked with the other 4 tubby locations, but not this one. The owner (or manager) of this tubby is more of a cheapskate than Mr. Krabs! He said I had to choose the coupon or gift card, which defeats the purpose of purchasing gift cards! I could also see the cheapness through his eyes, and never again do I want to go back to this gas station. read more

if i can give them no stars i would... i visited this location on august 8 2022 & that is the lassttt time i will ever visit trash dump they call a restaurant... i found a piece of hair in my food, & they only offered me to remake the food. why would i want more food that can possibly have more hair or something else??? when i first complained about the issue, the lady behide the counter told me to eat around the hair.... then, the other lady who worked their told me "its only a piece a hair" whatttt!!!! i would never visit this place again, & i advise others to do the same... p.s. they never did nothing to fix the situation, nor they don't give refunds read more

This was my first, and only visit to Tubby's. This store is located inside a nice gas station. Both the gas station and Tubby's are clean and well-maintained. The two young women who were working were very nice. That is what earned the stars. The food earned negative stars. Not having been here before, I didn't know what to order when there was no Italian sub on the menu. What sub shop doesn't have an Italian sub? Apparently, this one. So my thought was to order what might be the closest to an Italian sub. I ordered a sausage sub. What sub shop has a sausage sub, and not an Italian? Anyway, the bun was a bit too soft, but OK. The toppings were OK. The meat, if it really was meat, was the WEIRDEST tasting meat I have ever eaten in my life. I can't describe it, other than to say it was just gross. I couldn't eat all of it because of the taste, and offered the other half to my daughter. She said the same thing. I worried that we would both get food poisoning, but we didn't. That must just be the way their "sausage" tastes. That said, I won't be returning to this or any Tubby's. read more

Hadn't been to a Tubby's in a while and decided to stop in .There was a man in line in front of me. The overhead menu does not list the ingredients in the subs so I had to look at the menu at the counter. Apparently the young man at the counter was in a huge hurry about something. I told him my order but had to finish reading what was the sub as I don't care for tomatoes or mayo. He just kept saying "Is that all"? I then asked for french fries and he said again "IS that all?" And I finally said I would also like a drink but you must really be in a hurry. He said again "Is that all"? Took my card and that was it, no drink for me. Just plain rude, won't be back here. I'm a Tubby's Aficionado. I've been eating Tubby's since I was a little kid. This one is right up the street from my work and I visit occasionally. It's a solid Tubby's but I have a couple complaints. First with the good: It's a new place so it's very clean and updated. The people are friendly and there are tables to sit at. The food is also good. This is a Tubby's where they bake their own bread, so it's not necessarily what I'm used to, but it's good. They have white, wheat and cheese. It's denser than the bread from other locations, but still good. Now with the lame: They're a tad slower than other locations. But the big thing is they burn incense inside the building, so the entire area smells like incense. When you leave you smell a little like a head-shop. It may be the people at the gas station counter (it's located inside the service center of a large gas station) who are burning the incense, but either way it's impacting the feel of Tubby's. I've worked in food service and I had one manager who told me, "restaurants are a feast of the senses: taste, scent and sight: don't ruin the taste & scent of the food with cologne or perfume." However, since I love Tubby's, I'll be back. I just thought it was worth noting. read more

Tubby's is a Michigan original that I miss dearly in AZ. My Tubby's staples are the pepper, steak and cheese with famous sauce, the chicken Philly (not on the menu but you can request it) and the famous original. I love the sesame seeds on the bread. I also like getting some better made chips. This location is in a gas station and has a weird flat screen tv/knock off purse store inside there as well. But with it being in a gas station, I could grab a Faygo Rock n Rye (no I am not a juggalo, just a Detroiter) so it was a real Detroit experience. read more

I have been here many times and they always have great service and food and for the review that says they don't have Italian subs well that person does not know how to read a menu because it is right under their original sub which is very similar to the Italian but slightly different meats. They are very fast even when busy at getting your order done !!!! read more

This is probably my favorite Tubby's to go to. The staff is pretty friendly and polite (if to-the-point,) Orders always come out right and delicious, and while not the fastest Tubby's I've been to, the quality and accuracy of the food makes up for it. read more
