I knew a cart sprang up a while ago and they were available again so I searched them out. The guy working the cart was super nice and I asked him what happened to the restaurant that I used to go to because one day they were just closed for good, he explained he neede to concentrate on a family medical issue but he's back at it and has a catering business on 13th and Lincoln, I will post the menu. I would get the three for $5 with one ground beef, spicy shredded pork and jalapeño/cream cheese to reacquaint my self with the tamales. I received one hot salsa and two mild sauces, no skimping here. After driving home with one store stop the tamales were still hot unlike my earlier breakfast restaurant sit down experience. The jalapeño/cream cheese was tamale was very interesting and I'm glad I tried it. The spicy shredded pork was good with a decent amount of pork. The ground beef was my favorite and that had a decent amount of meat in it also. I did put all the salsa and sauces on them which made for a nice plate that filled me up. It was nice to get my go to tamales again and know where they are so I can get them again because I always liked them, yah I'm a fan.

So I drove around in search of a truck that has enchiladas dinner on their regular menu. After stopping at several I was lucky to find Taqueria La Vecindad near the corner of 60th & Oklahoma. For $11 it is the best enchiladas dinner I've had. Today they offered $3 pork or chicken tamales. They are both fantastic. It's quite a bit further for me than my previous truck, but overall well worth it!

Steak was plentiful and falling out ok, nothing super special. A taco for me is four bites and three of the four bites had chewy gristle in them which is disappointing and a turn off for me. My tostada was Al Pastor and piled high with pork, beans, lettuce, tomato and a pile of cheese. The shells were super crunchy from the fryer and two to hold up to hefty tostada. The tostada was tasty with all the crunchy and soft textures, clearly the winner over the steak taco. I have been to the restaurant and the West Allis truck, the truck about 15 times and I have never had any gristle in my food. The two trucks have different menus and I think the West Allis truck is better.

I got the special today - 2 chicken chimichangas, and they were really good! It came with beans and rice, a little bit of salad and some avocados all in this little container. Really quite a bit of food for $7.75! Only suggestion for improvement was that they only have forks to give out, and you really did need a knife to cut the chimichangas, or just use your hands. Fortunately I brought it back to my place of work where I had all kinds of utensils.

The weiner's are nice thick Usinger Sausages. But, the bun is what makes this weiner Great! Rather than just slicing the bun in half and trying to keep the weiner and all the toppings together while you try to eat. The bun has a hole cut in it, the weiner and toppings are put thru the whole on top and one end is enclosed to keep all of the goodies inside. This food truck is a must try!!!
