The tasting room is intimate, comfortable, and tastefully decorated, creating a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy great wine. What really makes this place stand out is the people. The staff and owners are wonderful friendly, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, making the entire experience feel warm and engaging. LXV is especially known for pairing wine with custom spice and flavor experiences that complement the tasting. They traditional wine tasting and a wine-and-cheese pairing experience (which I highly recommend). The cheeses are coated with the different blends of LXV's own herbs and spices, adding a unique layer of flavor to each tasting. If you enjoy cooking or simply appreciate bold, and well balanced flavors, chances are you'll leave with a few spice blends to take home along with a bottle or two of wine. Since it's more of boutique, the bottles are quite pricey, mostly ranging near the 100s. But it was our favorite the whole weekend we went there. And we bought 6 bottles. We loved the spell and got 3 bottles of that! It's a Syrah cab blend. Has the Paso flavor that we love. It's not a vineyard, just a tasting room but worth a visit. We met the wine maker too. Friendly and attentive service. Can't wait to pop open a bottle at home soon!

The 2021 The Defector Zinfandel Reserve was my favorite and the 2022 Skull & Bones Single Vineyard Zinfandel was a close second. The various chocolates (milk & dark blend, 70% cacao with nibs & sea salt, 70% cacao with crushed espresso beans, and classic dark chocolate truffle) each enhance the wine with which they were paired. Our experience was managed by the kind and hospitable Mai - she was friendly and conversational. Her level of service is what prompted us to buy a bottle each of my top two favorites. We were only one of two parties upon arrival; however, by the time we left there were six or seven parties in the tasting room. We had a reserved couch and two chairs inside the front door, ready to go for us. They not only had the regular tasting; however, they also had a tasting with chocolate pairing. We did one of each. The regular tasting was awesome, and the chocolate pairing tasting was equally as wonderful with that sweet touch. The employee on duty was Mai, and she was a real treat. She was so friendly to every customer in the room, and no matter how busy it got --- she kept everything in line and everything very organized. She even texted me after I left to let me know about my umbrella that I left behind. We ended up leaving with two bottles, and we would definitely return to this tasting room again.

Justin, the tasting room lead, is knowledgeable but far from snooty. On a quiet weekday afternoon, he spent a long time with us -- we explored a wide range of whites and red (and one rose). Some of our favorites: Chardonnay Napa Valley, Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard Carneros (I don't drink Chards and really enjoyed this one), Cabernet Angels Vista, Cabernet Lameraux. Me and my friend couldn't decide which bottle to buy haha; we wanted to get them all but we ended up getting their viognier! It was so light, crisp, and nothing I had before.
