What started as a business trip to Paso Robles turned into a perfect excuse for a weekend escape with my wife. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Anthony absolutely made our experience. He was welcoming, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable throughout the entire tasting. He didn't just pour the wines, he walked us through each one, explaining where they came from and what made them unique. You can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does, and it elevated the whole visit. FOOD: We didn't go for a full meal, but we did have some charcuterie--and wow. The cheese selection was delicious and paired perfectly with the wines. Simple, but very well done. AMBIANCE: This spot has such a cozy, homey feel. Sitting on the couch honestly felt like hanging out in someone's living room (in the best way). It's relaxed, comfortable, and perfect for slowing down and enjoying good wine and conversation. DRINKS: We did the 6-wine tasting (2 whites, 4 reds), and it was a great mix. This winery is the perfect spot for a late night wine tasting in downtown Paso! Open til around midnight which is awesome. My husband and my friend planned this one for part of our celebration. Loved the art decor, so fascinating and interesting. They took very good care of us from top to bottom. Started our five days in Paso Robles with a visit to Serial. What a great start! Anthony was both entertaining and informative. We learned so much about the local terroir and climate differences and how it affects the wines we tasted. We enjoyed the artwork and the vibe of the tasting room. We loved our experience so much, we bought a number of their wines and joined their club. Of course, we had a chance to further appreciate the wines that we bought, so we also made Serial our last stop before heading home. Abby took great care of us and we enjoyed visiting with her. We found Serial Wines while walking around downtown Paso Robles after dinner. We've been to many wine country towns but there haven't been many that have a tasting room open in the evening so it felt like a special treat for us! We were warmly welcomed in and told we could grab a seat anywhere we wanted to do a tasting or to have some wine. We found a nice relaxing area and settled in to our comfy seats. We ordered a tasty cab and Syrah and were even given a taste of them before they poured an entire glasss which was very nice of them! They wanted us to be sure we liked what we ordered before they poured an entire glass. We really appreciated that and were very happy with our selections. They invited us to come back the next night for a special event if we didn't already have any plans. We made mental notes of that for future reference. We observed several groups of friends come in to enjoy a tasting with some of them ordering a bottle to enjoy amongst them. Their tasting room is very nicely decorated and conveniently located near the downtown square area. Parking is within convenient walking distance for all of the businesses in the downtown area with some street parking available too. With so many choices of places to stop in to, we didn't make it back for their special event. Date night culminated at Serial Wines. Side-by-side of the 2020 and the 2021 Halter Ranch Syrah. It's like going out with twin sisters. Except for one of the sisters is a goth girl and the other is a runway model. You've got the 2020 which is like blackberry cobbler and the 2021 is a blueberry cheesecake with a side of Chardonnay. You love them both for different reasons. One is a borderline personality disorder, saying I hate you please don't leave me, and the other is a physicist saying I don't need you which makes you want me more. So which one do you take home? On our first visit in April 2024, we stopped in after the Visitors Center recommended it. As we entered, we were warmly greeted by a lady who said we could come in with our 7 year son as long as he was well behaved because they didn't normally allow children. We were sat at a lovely booth. My son entertained himself with all the booklets he picked up at Visitors Center and he sniffed each wine that was served. He's accustomed to wine tastings. Mike was our wine steward on this visit. He was really friendly and knowledgeable. At the end of the visit, we became members. We've been a back once since joining. On this subsequent visit, Joseph served us. He is even more friendly and knowledgeable. His personality is perfect for the job. He was so excited to explain the wines and he makes you happy to be sitting at Serial Wines. My mother in law joined us on this visit and she had a fantastic time. We did two different tasting menus which allowed us to try a good variety of wines. It was a great way to taste and compare notes. The ambiance and vibe are very chill. They have great art decor and it is a very inviting tasting room. There's a lovely outside patio in the front as well. We wish we could've made their masquerade party for members. It looks like so much fun. We look forward to visiting Serial Wines on our next road trip. read more

I didn't expect to get a first-class wine tasting on the 4th of July, but Serial gave me just that. Between the warm greeting from Joshua and the expert wine experience from Shawn, this is definitely something my friend and I will be repeating. Now for the details: The overall vibe was immaculate - great lighting, comfortable chairs, and the perfect balance of artistic and elegant with eclectic pieces that all seem to fit together. They offered 3 wine tasting experiences, and since this was my VERY FIRST TASTING EXPERIENCE, we chose to explore 3 red wines and 3 white wines. I should note that I had no knowledge of wine or what to look for in a wine, and this is where Shawn came in. Shawn took all of the pretentiousness out of wine and encouraged us to experience each flavor for ourselves, trust our own pallettes, and establish our own opinions. He gave us the history behind each wine alongside key info like geography and climate but left everything else to us. The fact that he never told us what we should be tasting or feeling gave us the confidence to experience each glass on our own, unencumbered. As far as first-time wine experiences go, I couldn't have hoped for anything more enriching or enlightening. Shawn has a spectacular personality and that, coupled with his wealth of wine knowledge, made this unforgettable. I'm super proud of myself, and I can't wait to explore wines having been introduced by a master. TL;DR: Excellent vibes, Shawn was an expert, AMAZING, and made wine tasting a fun and carefree experience. We'll be back. Highly recommend. PS.
