My issue with this place is not the stylist JP (can't manage her schedule) but the deceptive business practices (VIP BS), and yesterday's (and today's) excessive amount time I had to wait with a VIP (BS) monthly membership. Over 30min, and then someone else that had been waiting there for over an hour I let him take the appointment, because I am respectful of another person's time (JP is not) so I left. They maintain a policy that you have to be there within 5 min (I have 12 engineers waiting for direction, but my time isn't worth as much). VIP says preferential scheduling (doesn't happen), bottle with you name on it just for you (regularly drained and out lasts time), all services included with VIP ($99/month) (anything with a razor is at cost, false advertising). The manager is never there. Yesterday two stylists didn't show (today all four and still 30min late) and the two there were trying to cover for the no-shows. The no-shows need to cancel their appointments. Bad management policy. You can't cancel your membership on-line (deceptive) (To hear today "I'm sorry" again doesn't mean much if it happens twice in a row). I've only been going there 2months, the place is not managed properly. It is not worth what you pay if you are willing to add a tip at all. I always tip (I'd tip JP 20% at least ($30 +/- say goodbye to that JP), and don't mind if I am getting the service promised, the stylist deserves it. Well I called and asked if they took walk in and they set a appointment. I asked how much and they said 35 for a cut and 15 for a beard trim. I already thought that was crazy because I normally pay 27 for cut and beard at another barber. Then when she trimmed my beard she said she was all done. I asked"you're not going to shave it with the straight razor?) ((it's a barber shop)). She told me ohh that's another 5-10$. Like really? I said fine I just want it done right. Impossible with their new booking system, which they are unjustifiably proud of - clunky, just poorly designed and doesn't work. Couldn't book anything beyond the current day. And they won't book anything in the store or over the phone. If you're a "member" you apparently get better service. Just had a haircut here. The stylist was not friendly, cut my hair for 15 minutes, blow dried the cut hair off of me. She didn't offer to wash, shampoo my hair nor provide a hot towel. At the other location in town, they did both of these things. Additionally, at the other location in town, they offered me a drink when I came in, which is standard. Here, there was no offer of that. I know the owner owns both these locations, so he needs to do something to fix this location. Will not be coming here again. read more

Here is the service model fails: 1. Walk-in only. No pre-booking. 2. At terminal, check-in and pick your hair stylist. I don't take chances here any more because the one previous was a complete dud. 3. Told that wait is roughly 30 minutes 4. Person ahead of me was done and left about 30 minutes later but I continued waiting 4. 45 minutes wait later, was told a VIP arrived and VIP must get served first so need to wait another 45 minutes Summary: Expectations not met. I have been going to Tune up for almost a year now. I will say that I have had some of the best haircuts of​ my life. Tracy is exceptional and pays attention to detail and is very professional. As for the business perspective, the ability to not take appointments​ really makes getting a haircut​ difficult ​there​. I have called in and been told there is a two-hour​ wait and to call back in two hours. When I call back in two hours, I am told they are booked for the day. I have left feedback to the business, with no response. You basically have to have the day off and call hours ahead of time to get in for a haircut. This is really bad policy and from a business,​ perspective does not make the best sense. ​ I hope Tune Up changes this policy for customer quality or they will risk losing many customers. read more

I have had my hair cut and beard trimmed here several times. Typically they do a great job. I like to have my beard trimmed to the same length as my fade. A pretty typical (and easy) request. After 3 attempts today my stylist was unable to provide this. $40 later I am now in line at Birds for a proper beard trim. Sad a simple request isn't possible with the wrong stylist. read more

Where to begin... I have gone to this location a few times and never had a problem until today. I went to a new hair dresser, Lexi. When she first brought me back her cell phone was ringing in her drawer and she answered it. Didn't think too much of it. I sat down and she only halfway covered my body with the cape, which caused hair to fall all over my shorts until I noticed and fixed it. Halfway through the haircut she asked how I styled my hair and I responded with how I style the front and she sharply interrupted "not the front! The back is what I want to know". She was very rushed and seemingly trying to get the haircut over as soon as possible. The cell phone rang again and she checked who it was on her smart watch, then they called again and she answered it while still cutting my hair. One hand on her cell phone one hand STILL CUTTING my hair. She said it was "a telemarketer, nothing serious"...the way she quickly cut my hair was almost painful to the fact I have red marks all over the back of my neck. (See picture). I asked to speak to the manager but the receptionist said she had already left for the day (3:15pm)...will take my business elsewhere from now on. read more

My husband went today to get a haircut and beard trim. He's been to other locations and had great service. Today....not so much. Lexi cut his hair and did a terrible job. He said she seemed like she was in a hurry the whole time. The front was shorter than the back. It looked like he had two horns on the top of his head. It's uneven around his ears, trimmed way too high. She completely messed up his beard. See the picture. She took a big chunk out of it underneath. There's no way she didn't realize she did it, but she didn't say anything. He called the store after he realized the mess she made of his hair and beard. The manager said she would put a note on his account for a free haircut. Let's hope he doesn't get Lexi again. You would think they would do a better job than the $15 haircut places, but he ended up having to go to one of those to fix the mess she made. After reading the other reviews it sounds like Lexi should get a new job. read more
