I had my tint installed at the tunes n tint location at the North Lakeland location a few months ago. After I moved I noticed that the tint has hair and lint stuck in between the tint and glass. This will clearly lead to problems down the line in terms of bubbling. I reached out to Jessie today and was told that I can bring my car in on a Saturday for them to look at it. Which is not a problem but I told him that I now live an hour away so if I'm going to spend an hour driving there and an hour driving back then I want to make sure the repairs can be done that same day. He said that he won't redo the tint on the same day or the weekend. I'd have to drive it there for him to look at it and then come back during the day for them to fix it which would take the whole day. I told him it would be cheaper for me to find a new company to redo it where I live instead of driving 4 hours all together and having to list a day of wages. He said that he won't redo my tint on a Saturday because he'd lose business since his installer will be busy with my car all day. I wonder if he'd lose more business with me posting about this situation on yelp, Facebook, google, and Groupon. I even offered to email him the pictures or FaceTime him to save me a trip out there but he was not willing to work with me. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

The reason why they do this is so they can charge you $50 fee to reserve a day and time. I brought the car in to have a backup camera w/monitor installed. After several hours wait, they pulled it out and told me it was done. When I started to backup, I was looking at the sky. I called the tech out, he looked at it and said it was in upside down and would fix it. After about a 1/2 hour they pulled it back out for me. I went to adjust the monitor that they had mounted on the dash and it fell face down in the bracket. I would have to hold it by hand to see the monitor. The tech came out once again and tightened the screws and I was on my way home. Within the 1st week, it feel down several times and I tightened the screws, The next week, I took it back to have it fixed properly. They took it in a bay and brought it back out and I went home. Two days later, fell again. I took it down again and this time the manager came out. He rudely told me I would have to file a warranty claim for it to be covered. I argued that even though it had a multi-year warranty, it hasn't been right since it was installed and this was my 3rd time there in two weeks. It was the product, it was the crappy installation. He said sorry you have to file a claim before he would work on it again. I will never use their services again! read more

In October 2014 I took my Tesla P85 to Tunes & Tint for a Mobile Eye Install and OEM Parking Sensors install along with a USB access hub for a bel StIr radar detector. I drove over 400 miles as they came highly recommended and spent two days in Lakeland while they performed the work. The good points: None The Bad: The Mobileye was hooked up incorrectly (I found this on my drive back to Fort Lauderdale) Cornering Lights and Fog lights were not reconnected. I emailed Tunes N Tint and explained I was very unhappy with the work and how it cost me over $400 to fix the Mobileye Cornering and fog lights. The installer who performed the work (not Tunes N Tint) sent me a WU money order to cover the cost to fix this issue. They moved a USB interface for a Bell StIr radar detector but placed it directly above the on/off button of the unit (This button needs to be pressed to update the radar Detector) so every time I need to update the detector I have to remove the USB interface. The real damage they did to my car when trying to install the parking sensors That damage is un-reparable and will cost $6000.00+ I will need to replace the front and rear bumpers. They did not use the correct size hole saw (that I offered to supply) and drilled holes smaller than the sensors then tried to file out the holes to the correct size, this left me with chipped paint around the holes and holes that look like a bad DIY job. When I picked up the car the installer even pointed out the out of round and damaged holes but even to me who knows nothing about bodywork I could see that this was un-reparable. My biggest mistake was to sign off on the job as now I have to take them to court over this. So take a look at the quality of their work before you hand you car over to them, and take advice from someone who has paid dearly for their incompetence. Find another shop! read more

BEWARE- I brought my 2015 BMW in for an upgraded GPS system and new speaker system. During the installation of the new screen my existing screen in my car was damaged. Tint and Tunes manager told me that the screen was already damaged prior to the installation and that screens in vehicles only last 5 to 8 years due to heat and she. Funny in all the cars that we've owned and in speaking with friends, no one has ever had screen failures in their vehicles. The screen was NOT damaged prior and I gave a hard time believing that it is coincidence that my screen failed at the same time that a new module was installed in my car. Management refuses to replace or even take responsibility for the damage. They said I need to buy a new screen ($600+) and they will install for an additional $150. This job was over $6000. I absolutely do not recommend them as they do not stand behind their work. Buyer beware!! read more

When you have a service done you expect the Manager etc to do a quality assurance check to make sure everything is done correctly. I totally understand things might go wrong , but if you checked before the customer pointed it out it wouldn't be an issue. I normally have a go to place elsewhere but they don't have Saturday hours so went with them. I also wanted to add that they are full of excuses as to why the job couldn't be done right. If you can't do it right or couldn't do it because it was too hard don't take the job ! I guess that's why they want the money before they do it so you have NO recourse. I would not recommend going here for any car needs if this is how they going to do things as it's what my dad used to say a half blank job !!! read more

I have been going there on and off for years and have never felt safer or more trustworthy at the hands of Austin working on my Vehicle. I called to get an update on my aftermarket stereo since I was unsuccessful doing it myself. Normally the shop where I purchased it, a chain in Texas does it for free since I bought it from them. Of course I'm going to pay, but when I called last week the person I talked to must of thought I was an idiot because he quoted me close to $200. Mind you this update takes about 20 minutes not 2 hours. Way to go to make a new resident feel welcomed by trying and rip me off. I went to Blvd Customs and I was done in less than 40 minutes. Recently, we've tried doing business with this place twice and both times they are trying to royally screw us/overcharge!! $170 for an hour of labor. THATS RIDICULOUS. WORST customer service. The idiots do not know the definition of "appointment". They will take any every car/dollar that walks up. I went in, prepaid for 2 windows in my truck to be tinted. Made an APPOINTMENT for 2 weeks later. Got there on time (same time they open), they were in the middle of taking 2 walks in. On what was obviously an already over booked day. Since I had an appointment, first of the day, I was going to wait for it. Then with an "I don't believe your going to wait, annoyed attitude (manager I think)" it'll be 6:00pm. WTF!?!? It's 9:00am. I asked why did I get an appointment time, he babbles on about its a busy day. I don't F** care. You made an appointment, with a TIME, not date. Crappy ass service. Getting my money back and will do whatever I can to deter anyone else from going there. Idiots. Not to mention they tinted the windows on my wife's car 2 weeks prior, and the windshield tint strip is already showing bubbles. So crap workmanship too. read more

In September 2015 I had Tunes n Tint South (no longer at that location) add a Viper Car Alarm and Power Door Locks to my 2009 Ford F150. Paid $237 for the locks. Thought I was all set. In March of 2017 the Power Door Locks failed. I was left locked out of my truck as the key would not move the failed power lock mechanism. Brought in a locksmith, unlocked the doors. Viper warranty lasts 12 months. September 2015 to March 2017 is 19 months so I am out. I paid ANOTHER $237 to reinstall Viper door locks thinking anything can fail once, got a bad product, gave the benefit of the doubt, blah, blah, blah. HOWEVER, in October 2018, the Viper door locks failed again. Had to get the locksmith to unlock the truck, again. Contacted Tunes n Tint (North location), again, to find that the warranty still only lasts 12 months. March 2017 to October 2018 is 17 months, see a pattern? Had Tunes n Tint disconnect the power door mechanism and I understand that Tunes n Tint cannot extend a factory warranty, but I am still out just shy of $500. At this point if I was offered a FREE installation, I doubt I would take it, no trust in the product. Burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice, shame on me. My OEM cd player decided it was beyond death (at least according to the noises it was making and lack of properly working). Brandon at the North Lakeland store made sure I knew what the options were I could choose from to replace my former cd/radio, all of the associated costs, and was even able to work me in earlier than we had scheduled. Dump Best Buy (which had even higher costs for removal/installation/components). They managed to do an amazing job, and I'd highly recommend them! read more

I paid 2200$ to get a new Kenwood system installed into a 2016 GMC 2500HD (Booked Two Weeks Prior). I dropped the unit off at 9am and they didn't identify this problem until 5pm, on a Friday evening. Having wasted the day, without even looking at my unit, they now had no time to source the correct harness and solve the problem. I believe in second chances, I promise to remove this accurate and honest review, if the owner reaches out to me with an apology and a plan of action to research the proper parts before starting a job. I do not blame these kids with poor training. They are doing the best they can, in my option, they are doing too much for what they are actually getting paid. They need leadership, a master technician, someone to take charge. If not, I want to rent this building, when you close up. It will be a perfect new location for one of my stores. James at Tunes N Tint has provided exceptional customer service for my 2012 Tesla Model S. He was extremely professional and courteous. Always performed the job as promised and within the expected timeframe. I have had bad experiences with other local auto accessory aftermarket centers in the Tampa/Bradenton/Lakeland area. Soundwaves of Tampa attempted multiple times to calibrate my 360 degree camera system without success. They spent a total of 10 hours trying to calibrate. No success. I then went to MadMarks Auto and they also tried multiple times to calibrate my system without success. I called the owner of the company which sells the 360 degree camera system. He recommended I go to Tunes n Tint. Not coincidentally, in the past I took my Tesla to have a Mobileye collision avoidance system calibrated. Only Tunes n Tint was able to do so. I will for now on only go to Tunes n Tint even though the center is located 80 miles from my home in Sarasota. James is incredibly knowledgeable, never shies away from a new challenge, and treats the customer with utmost respect and courteousness! read more

This is a great place. They are very professional and always know what they're talking about and can answer any of your questions. They do quality work that almost always has some kind of warranty to it. Jesse is great and is always very helpful. However, I'm convinced he lives there but that's only a plus for the tunes-n-tint customers. I had my HID lights replaced and a new stereo and speakers put in. They did a great job on both. I need to get my tint redone (the tint that was on the car when I bought it) and I will definitely be going here. They do pretty much any car modifications. Had to argue with Jesse the manager about a rental car for 3 day repair. Manager is very unprofessional and lacks people skills. Buyers beware. I took my car there cause having problem starting buick skylark due to a passlock theft system issue, paid 75 dollars, they said they bypassed the theft system, but couldn't tell me what they did cause it's a (trade secret) wth? then they said my car wouldn't start n run due to a mechanical issue, had it towed to another automotive shop, within two hours they got car started it runs fine, nothing mechanically wrong with car, they can't find any evidence whatsoever that any attempt was even made to bypass any theft system..this place is a joke, sure they can tint your windows, but anything else, don't waste your time or money..how can you say you did something to a persons vehicle to justify taking 75 dollars from them, but you can't tell them what you did to it, and you didn't resolve the issue, which you told customer on phone you could do, when he agreed to have car towed there... read more

Great job tinting the windows of my car! It's been 5 years since they've tinted my car windows (just never got around to giving them a review). But more importantly, the tint still looks great on my car. No bubbling, no peeling, and no fading. Think I spent about $200 something for 5 window (4 side door windows and rear hatchback window). I had dropped off my car in the morning and they were done by the end of the day. The guys there know their stuff and are very professional when it comes to helping you choose which tint to put on your car. They have a display area. I had no idea there were that many types of tint films you could use, but I'm glad they helped with the selection. I also had them do my sister's car 2 years ago for her birthday, and she seems to be pretty happy with the work as well. Aside from her car, I have recommended this place to several other people too whom have all seemed to like the quality of work done here. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get quality tint work done on his or her car. Now, if only they gave loyalty rewards.... read more
