The first car we we're charge a ridiculous fee for labor for a problem that he didn't even fix claiming we told him we would have it done somewhere else. We paid him more than $400 to not have it fixed. Took it to another mechanic that charged us $200 to actually fix it! We continue to get the run around on a truck has been at true speed for over 2 months! We've already given John over $2000 for repairs that have not been done! We keep hearing excuses that they can't finish because they keep receiving the "wrong part". The 3rd car we made a huge mistake buy sending one of our customers to John. The original quote increased by more than $200 and was weeks later than promised. Our customers finally got it back today only to find out that one of the O2 sensors than was supposed to have been repaired hasn't been. We're having to take it to another mechanic again who says it will be about $275 and can have it in a few days. In the mean time we are lending them one of our cars for the second time because we feel so bad that they keep getting screwed over by John. We are just starting out and are barely making it ourselves. We lose money everyday that this truck is sitting at his shop not getting anything done. At this point all he has done is make things worse. It isn't drive-able and we can't afford to take it to another mechanic to have it fixed. We have to make huge payment to our bank every month- but John apparently doesn't care about his customers, deadlines or actually running his business. John is as crooked as they come! Whatever you do DO NOT take your cars to these scam artists.

I feel so lucky they were there and helped me quickly and affordably. Bradley was able to remove the small nail and patch the tire ... incredible ... and Rafa was all over letting me know the status and providing an easy experience for payment at check-out (I waited next door at the new coffee place called Urban Sailor - so convenient for working while waiting). Mercer has all sorts of hit and miss reviews here on Yelp, but I think management has completely turned over and had a 10+ experience today. However, for what they lack esthetically they make up for in quality, cost, and integrity. I have used this shop as my dedicated mechanic since 2019. During that time I have bought, fixed up, kept or sold 7 vehicles. I have always received thorough diagnosis of car issues, equitable pricing, and reliable work. My friend who originally referred me to this shop, one time went for an oil change and came home feeling like it may not have been topped off enough. Hold up - there is a reason why I'm telling you this story... when my friend called 168 about it they took his concern EXTREMELY seriously! They didn't just say bring it back in or worse disregard him. They immediately sent a flat bed to tow it to the show and reassured my friend that they have insurance if the vehicle has been damaged they will replace the whole thing, etc. I tell this story because let's face it no one is perfect all the time but in the face of a potentially catastrophic error 168 really showed up and did the right thing without any hassle. My friends car ended up being fine thankfully. Ended up he drove over some rope after leaving that got tangled in his under carriage. I refuse to take my cars anywhere else. One last note - unfortunately they are not diesel certified so if you have a Diesel engine sorry but they won't be able to do specific engine or emission work.
