I typed in Must Eat and the first choice was Tupelo Honey. I'm glad I did this finding a sleek beautiful bright and inviting dining area. The staff were wonderful but I must point out with nearly half empty tables the young hostess was a bit frazzled had difficulty with her electronic note pad and told us there was a 45 minute wait. The front house could use some training. We decided to wait at the bar and wound up eating there. Although friendly and helpful the bartender kept disappearing undoubtedly to cover for the server shortage. The food was excellent. I am entertaining a German coworker and wanted him to experience upscale and creative southern cooking. Tupelo Honey delivered! The fried green tomato appetizer with goat cheese grits and a zippy orange remoulade was awesome! My friend had the hot chicken and waffles and I had the shrimp and grits. He enjoyed the chicken and waffles very much. I have to say the shrimp and grits with Chorizo sauce was delicious and filling. Great job on the food. This place is a good choice just be patient for slightly longer than usual wait times for seating and serving. The people are nice and doing the best they can. read more

Debated 4 or 5 stars. My lunch was quite good, but it's not so much to judge on, one person one meal. However, it was SO tasty, service was fine, very nice atmosphere and decent prices. It's a great place to go to get a lot of southern comfort foods, some with nice twists as well, and it has a full bar, and open for all meals I believe. We went years ago to the first location in Knoxville, maybe a few times, but felt "been there done that" as more and more good restaurants came downtown. Happy to see this new location, closer to a lot of things we do in west Knox. I had a GREAT lunch. Bloody Mary, then one of their low-cost specials ($11 for a half sandwich and side, basically). The sandwich was hot chicken with ranch and pickles and it was scrumptious. I had a problem choosing sides- so many great options including brussel sprouts, fried okra, Mac&cheese and salads.....I finally chose the green beans with bacon. Oh, they were soooo good. I could have made my meal just that and some cornbread. Next time I may get a veggie platter or just get extra sides, gotta try the others to see if they are cooked as well. We have been to other locations, but this was our first visit to the Farragut site. We arrived around 7pm on a Tuesday and it was not too noisy for us to have a conversation with our friends. The service was good and our meals came out quickly. The four of us each had a different entree and everyone was pleased. Some people might say that the price is high, but we are ok with the slightly higher price for the quality and quantity we received. If so, then go at lunch because the prices are lower on that menu. (And, they just released a summer promo of 2 for $22.) By 8pm, the place was almost empty except for a few large parties outside on the porch. read more

Fried pickles were breaded with cornmeal for a thicker breading. The goat cheese grits were good, but not my favorite and the Brussels were super crispy and delicious. I brought some friends to the soft launch of Tupelo Honey's new location in Biddle Farms. It's a beautiful new restaurant in Farragut and a great addition. It wasn't too loud even though it was full and has open ceilings. It has good natural lighting and a comfortable, yet modern feel. The hostess and waitress were very nice and knowledgeable. They were prompt with delivering our drinks and food. They did forget straws a few times, but considering they just opened no big deal. The food was all delicious. Stand outs were the biscuits with peach compote, fried green tomatoes, fries, waffles. The chicken was a little dry, but the breading was perfect. The bacon was delicious. All the sauces were great. The bread options on sandwiches were all delicious. Overall, for a soft launch it was phenomenal. You couldn't tell it just opened. Super minor things to fix. We finally made it to Tupelo Honey and had such a great experience! We started with the fried green tomatoes and fried pickles--both were perfectly crispy and flavorful. The fried green tomatoes came with that zesty sauce that tied everything together, and the pickles were crunchy, salty, and addictive. For mains: Jack ordered the kids' meal cheeseburger with a side of mac & cheese. The burger was the perfect size and full of flavor, and the mac & cheese was creamy and cheesy--exactly what a kid (or adult!) wants. David went with the fried chicken strips, which were juicy and crispy, paired with three dipping sauces: honey mustard, ranch, and their signature sweet & spicy sauce. His green beans with bacon were smoky and delicious. I chose the steak strips, cooked tender and flavorful, with rosemary & parmesan potatoes that were crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and a fresh house salad on the side. You gotta try their Lovely Blueberry Lemonade it was our favorite. We couldn't leave without dessert, so we shared the banana pudding. Creamy, layered just right, and topped with whipped cream, it was the perfect Southern finish. We absolutely loved everything about our visit--the food, the flavors, the staff and the cozy vibe. We were on a business trip, and stopped in on Valentines Day evening with no reservation. They sat us quickly at the bar. The bar tender was so friendly and smart. I was asking him questions about making drinks, and he was very open to speaking to me. We had the fried green tomatoes, chicken, and another sandwich. Me and some family members drove to Farragut for the first time and came across this restaurant and we decided to try it out. You have an option to sit indoors or outdoors, the bar is very beautiful, the seating and booths in the restaurant were nice, and the bathrooms were clean and organized as well. The food was amazing! I ordered the Tupelo shrimp and grits meal which was so flavorful to where I even had to give my dad a bite. The staff was super friendly and always made sure you had everything you needed. Nice and airy inside... big patio area.. friendly greeting and server was very good and quick to get water and menus.. very attentive and great at suggestions. We started off with a Bloody Mary as the ones at Market Square in Knoxville are " the BEST" and still are. No straws for drinks, no setups for biscuits, wandered around at the speed of ____ a marked difference. We sat in the bar bartender was very attentive. She did a great job, keeping up with us. It was Sunday. We were a bit early for our bloody Mary and mimosa so we went ahead and ordered breakfast and by the time we got breakfast and was a third of the way through it is time to order the bloody Mary in the mimosa flight. I'm not a huge fan of the traditional mimosa, which is why I did the flight so I could try all flavors and I was very pleased to find the Appalachian mimosa very good and a new favorite. We love the downtown location of Tupelo Honey, but we love how roomie and airy the Farragut location is we never feel like we're just packed in like sardines. I had the biscuits and gravy unfortunately the biscuit was very heavy and dry but scrambled eggs were good. This Tupelo Honey is just... not as good as it's downtown restaurant. I tried it twice, near when it first opened and then a few months later. my food was messed up both times and the staff were unprofessional (1st server spilt drinks on our table, 2nd was dressed down and couldn't bother to check on us.) The location is good, but I hate to see this area get even busier than it was before, just for this restaurant to be overpriced for what you're getting read more

Extremely disappointing experience at Tupelo Honey. I ordered the pulled pork, only to be told after placing my order that they were out of it. I then ordered a chicken breast instead, and a manager came over to inform me they were out of that as well. To make up for it, the manager offered a complimentary dessert. However, when I asked for cheesecake, I was told they were out of that too! At that point, it felt like they were out of everything. The most frustrating part is that none of this was communicated upfront. Customers should be informed immediately about menu items that are unavailable rather than finding out one item at a time after ordering. Poor inventory management and poor communication made for a very frustrating dining experience. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant based on this visit. read more

Yes dogs are always welcome on the patio. - Sidebar if dogs need to stay on leashes kids should too. - we started with biscuits for a cause. Sorry, I don't remember the charity but they've raised, I think over $850,000. My daughter got the chicken and waffles. They looked amazing. The glaze they put on the chicken is awesome. I got the mountain morning bowl. I liked it very much. But I did have order looking at my daughter's chicken and waffles. She got a bloody Mary. She loved it. I got the old-fashioned flight. I loved it. Each was yummy in their own way. I forgot to mention the blueberry jam. If you have a sweet tooth like I do, you will love the blueberry jam. We ate most of the blueberry jam on the biscuits, but had a little left. I put that in one of my old fashions. Genius!! Great vibe. Big open deck. Walking through the indoor seating. They have a great happy hour. It includes half off appetizers. I am a bar sitter. Their bartenders are awesome. Austin, Jules, and Tyrone all know what they are doing. Wednesday night is half-price wine by the bottle. And their lunch specials are perfect. You can get in and out for under $15 including tip. The fried chicken is off the chain good. We started off the new year with a brunch at Tupelo Honey. The atmosphere was great, and it would be an idle spot to take the girls for drinks and catching up. Service was a little slow with our waiter coming back often to recheck what we ordered. We started with the biscuits and blueberry jam. The biscuits were cold and a little hard, but the jam was delicious. My husband got the spicy chicken sandwich which he said laced seasoning and wasn't really on the spicy side. I have the sweet potato pancake, which was interesting, but I probably wouldn't order it again. Nothing was bad, we just probably wouldn't go back unless we were invited with friends. read more

We have now been to this restaurant twice. Both times the service was abysmally bad. The servers did a poor job of keeping track of what was going on at our table, and, we're very often not to be found. Getting drink refills was a challenge. In addition, it has been a flip of the coin whether or not an appetizer would show up before the main course, or, at all. The restaurant itself was very nice but maybe a little crowded? Not so much because of space but more because of the noise level. My husband ordered fried chicken with fries and I ordered a side salad with the onions on the side and the dunk and dip which is grilled cheese and tomato soup. The server seemed to have a real hard time hearing us I'm not sure if it was because of the noise level or like me maybe she is hard of hearing. Not real sure but it seemed to be a bit of a struggle. She was very nice just seemed to be having a hard time that morning. The chicken was by far the best thing we ate that day. Everything else was just ok. The salad dressing tasted good but had a major heat on the back end. I planned to share the salad with my husband which is why I got the onions on the side as he likes onions and I do not, but we never got them. But for some reason I ended up with two bowls of soup due to a mix up in the kitchen. We didn't really care for the fries which are done in an air frier? Just not a great flavor or texture so won't order those next time. We had a wonderful experience at Tupelo Honey. My husband and I are Gluten Free and our server John was most accommodating. He went over the whole menu with us. We opted for the Whiskey Onion Smash Burger and since it has two patties on it. The chef Luis made mine like a lettuce wrap and brought my husbands on a gluten free bun. Both were delicious. Don't know how long they have been open, but they don't have their act together. We waited 25minutes to be seated in a restaurant that had lots of empty tables. Then after we were finally seated we waited another 15 minutes before waitress came started taking the order of the people next to us. The restaurant is super clean , the decor is beautiful. The wait staff is very friendly and there to help if you have any concerns or questions. They don't rush you even if they are busy . I love Tupelo honey and have been to many locations. I was very excited about this one as it's closest to my home. They did not deliver. The service was horrible, the banana pudding came out HOT. Disgusting and melted. This was not pudding. Ordered a bowl of soup and they legit maybe put two bites in the bowl. Sizing is way off and the chicken lacked flavor. Don't recommend this location- it's worth the drive to go dowtown. read more
