Famous Pecan Chicken Salad. Have you ever in your life seen anything like this?
    Ruann L.

Here's the deal about Burchfields restaurant inside the Double Tree Hotel, they are not busy enough to be open for lunch. They may not be busy enough to be open for dinner. I didn't stay to find out. Believe it or not, we waited 5 minutes for the hostess to seat us in an empty restaurant. She was busy doing something else and wasn't monitoring her station. We sat at a window which was a nice place to dine after sitting in a conference room for 4 hours. The table seemed clean, the flatware clean, the dishes clean as well. Our server was kind and moderately attentive. She offered bread. When it arrived the bottom of both rolls were saturated in butter, we think. It tasted like it was baked over a week ago. I ordered the Black and Blue Salad. My friend ordered what she thought was "chicken salad". (Pictures included) it was called Famous Pecan Chicken Salad. We laughed. What on Earth! A scoop of chicken salad in between two slices of pineapple? I cannot speak to the chicken salad plate other than it was weird. My Black and Blue Salad was under dressed. I'm not sure there was any dressing on it. The steak, though perfectly cooked, was cold. It's weird to eat cold steak. The seasoning on top of the steak was overkill. OH...AND there were POTATO CHUNKS on top of the salad! What the heck?!!! I thought they were croutons but they were potatoes! See the pic attached to this review. Unreal! What can I say except that we had an hour to eat. It was food but I would never, ever, dine at Burchfields again. I suspect this location isn't busy enough to have fresh ingredients!

Sending this dish to the table is an insult to your own kitchen. It takes 1 second to wipe a place.

It's amazing how a restaurant can tumble from a total hit to total shit. I pulled into the parking lot on a Thursday between 6 and 7 pm and had no trouble finding a great spot this is the sign that something's fishy. I walked up to find a near empty place and no staff at the reception desk. They were busy collecting a kitchen return dish at the one occupied table. The over made up hosted showed me to a great table (because they were all empty) and I waited for the lone waitress. A sweet young lady who except for having to ask for a refill of my water glass was perfectly fine at her job. I ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer and it want to bad but the celery sticks looked like they were dirty and old. A little quick knife work or running them under some water could have saved this fiasco. My entree was the chicken masala and it sucked! It sucked because the small single chicken cutlet was smothered in a flavorless brown gravy not masala sauce. It had an asparagus rice dish that was made with the most nasty looking butt end pieces of asparagus. Who got the flavorful pretty tips? The best part of this dish was the ample load of broccoli tops. Here's where this dish lost points. The failed to wipe the plate and it just looked bad! Who's in that kitchen? No self respecting chef! Compared to my previous visit it seems like nobody cares back in the kitchen. Here's the last bad move. I sat and had a full meal but the manager decided to pass my table and greet a couple who were seated a short while after me. This dickhead just blew me off and that's just wrong. Maybe he knew I would tell him exactly how I felt about my let down experience. Maybe this would get him to make the changes to get more asses in the seats. My guess is he just wants to eek by just like the kitchen staff. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME IN THIS PIT. FIND ANOTHER PLACE TONEAT BUT AVOID THIS PLACE.

Bar area with Haley taking care of us.

We have visited the restaurant and bar area many times over the years when we go to WindRock. Last night, the bar was pretty busy but our bartender, Haley, cracked a smile and made everyone feel at home. She anticipated every order and remembered everyone's name. Please hire more Haley's!!!

They do offer outdoor seating, which is nice, although I'm not sure yet if it's dog-friendly--something I'll have to check out next time. We usually sit at the bar, and one thing I've learned is that you need to be very specific with your drink order if you have preferences. For example, if you order a dirty martini without clarification, be prepared for a glass that tastes almost entirely like olive brine. Asking for "light" on the olive juice is a must. Even a standard vodka martini doesn't automatically come with a lemon twist, which feels like a small but noticeable miss. Service has consistently been solid--friendly and attentive, about what you'd expect. The food, however, has been hit or miss. I tried the FGTs twice, hoping the first experience was just an off night, but they still weren't memorable enough to order again. The steak tips appetizer has been the one standout for us--really flavorful--but if you're planning on ordering a steak entrée, doubling up on steak feels a bit redundant. The salads that come with the meals are reliably good, and the steaks themselves are decent, especially with the loaded baked potato on the side. That said, I ordered a fish dish on one visit that was forgettable enough that I can't even recall exactly what it was--just that I wouldn't order it again. Overall, Aubrey's is perfectly fine, but it hasn't wowed me. At this price point, I think there are better options around town. We might stop back in from time to time if we're in the mood for something different.

I ask for the olives to be removed and not placed but they pre make the pasta so that is not an option. My husband's dish was equally disappointing, we left starving and spent twice as much as we would have at Season's in Knoxville. Later that night we both had horrible stomach issues. Again the waitress was fantastic but on a Friday evening and there was only 5 other tables should have been the warning sign.

But the sweet girl taking orders didn't really know what she was doing and put in our order a bit wrong. The couple in front of us had their order messed up too. The interior of the place wasn't that inviting or clean, but we opted to eat in anyway. But IF we go back that won't be happening. My husband got a basic cheese pizza because that's how he judges all pizza places the first time around. It was just OK to him. I got the pickle chips since they were 'breaded in-house' and the BBQ Burger. The pickle chips were so over-seasoned and salty I couldn't even eat them - and I LOVE salt. What a shame. The only redeeming thing was the burger and fries. While the burger didn't have what it was supposed to on it and you don't get the option on the temperature of the meat, it was still a good burger. The fries were also super crispy and fluffy inside. So pretty hit-and-miss for me. I'm going to have to think twice before I go back.

This place was a bit of a hike for us but so worth it for the delicious pizza. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, garlic knots, and deluxe hibachi that comes with beef, chicken, and shrimp and a side salad and soup. If we were rating this place on the pizza and knots alone-5 stars all day long. The crust is so light, chewy and flavorful. The garlic knots actually remind me of the super unique rolls at the local Brazilian steakhouse. They have an outer chew but the inside is so soft that it almost melts in your mouth. The hibachi was...okay. My first bite of the entire meal was the beef and it was unfortunately so chewy that it was inedible. I crossed my fingers it was just that one piece. Nope. Our family ended up discarding every piece of beef, which was an expensive disappointment. The shrimp and chicken were tasty but overshadowed by the sea of onions and mushrooms. We were grateful for the salad and soup, although we couldn't distinguish what the soup was meant to be. My kiddo asked what the hot, brown salt water was. :-) The ginger salad was iceberg lettuce with a very thick, chunky ginger dressing. If that's your thing, rock on! For hibachi, we will probably stick with Fuji. In general, we will be back for the pizza soon and look forward to trying the burgers, which we've heard are great.
