We came on a very busy Saturday night (weekend of Dogwood Festival, theatre night, and prom night). Thankful to have a reservation, we were promptly seated while others with no reservation were being told three hour wait times. I loved the vibe of Tupelo, the hanging lush green plants on the side of the bustling kitchen, the cheerful staff and the lively music. Lizette was our server and she was just a darling. It was our first time here, and she was so helpful with her all of her recommendations. One of Lizette's favorites was the "Peach, don't kill my vibe" sangria. Which I just loved. I nice mix of peach and pineapple in a sangria. For our mains, we had the grilled harvest chicken and the chicken tenders. Both mains came with two sides. With my grilled harvest chicken, I got the mashed potatoes and the braised bacon green beans. The green beans were to die for, even my hubby was saying he should've ordered that as his side. The harvest chicken I loved--especially the sautéed spinach, red peppers and tomatoes on top. But if you can't handle spicy, this dish does have some heat to it. And we ended my birthday celebration with the heavenly banana pudding. It was heavenly in every way. Made in house, and so delicious that even my hubby ate it and he never cares for this dessert. If I could've licked that little bowl, I would've. We already cannot wait to come back and try some of the brunch items on their menu. The restaurant sits in a beautiful square lined with other restaurants and bars. So this location is perfect for bar hopping. They are open 9am to 9pm and have breakfast all day! Hit and miss items. Cute ambiance, service was not great unfortunately. The first bites of biscuits were good until halfway became too buttery/salty, same with the breakfast potatoes became too salty after a few bites and the side order of sausage and gravy was inedible, wayyy too salty. The omelet was lackluster and the cherry tomatoes in it were sloppily cut, not halved or chunks but 90% whole tomatoes just thrown in. Oh Tupelo, what a great memory you were. If you're a local or just wandering through Knox, you're likely going to stumble across Market Square. If you're not on Gay St. or in Old Town, this is basically the only other spot you want to be (with some exceptions). Tupelo is one of the good ones, where you can't really go wrong. We are people watchers, so of course we sat outside. As far as people watching, it doesn't get much better than Market Square. To be honest we went there for a drink at first. After losing control of ourselves we started getting random appetizers on the menu because they sounded irresistable. Things like the onion rings, which sound basic, were quickly realized as absolutely fantastic. Brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, and of course the biscuits with blueberry jam. Especially after some top shelf margs... you'd be crazy not to try them. Big shout out to the servers there. Lizette especially took most excellent care of us, but the crew from the front to the back of the house we met personally, and took care of us like we were sitting at their kitchen table. Oh my, what an amazing place to walk in to. First off - it's gorgeous inside with fantastic lighting, and the decor is killer! But....we came to eat! Walking around knoxville we were looking for a place to eat lunch. This place was busy when we walked by in the mmorning. After some shopping and sight seeing, my son decided to call for reservations. Thank God he did we had to wait about 15 minutes but will worth it. If you didn't have reservations you probably weren't going to eat there. Service was warm and welcoming. Food was delicious. Chicken is must have and bring your appetite. The portions are huge. Overall, it was a good experience, really crowded and loud, but it was on a Sunday. I had the chicken and waffles and it was amazing. Chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection and the waffle was actually really good. Service was a seven out of 10, but it was really crowded and so I believe my server had a lot of tables so that is probably the reason no complaints though drinks was really good. I got mimosas. ANOTHER excellent meal here in Knoxville! Seeing how many restaurants require a reservation, I booked a 9am reservation here the night before. This was my first time in a Tupelo Honey restaurant and will DEFINITELY NOT be my last (like The Kennedy!) The restaurant was clean, neat and very well organized! Our server got to our table immediately and got us our coffee and waters right away. We ordered the Biscuits, Classic Chicken and Waffles and an Omelette. All I can say is that the food was AWESOME! Hot, Fresh, flavorful and delicious! Completely on point with flavor and without a doubt would order again, except for the fact that now I want to try everything else on the menu!! My only complaints are that our coffee cups went empty twice and I had to flag our server down for refills both times with their very tasty coffee and the butter served with the biscuits was still rock solid frozen. First time at Tupelo Honey and it did not disappoint! It was really packed on a Tuesday at 6 PM so I knew that was a good sign! Very cozy and great ambience. We ordered the pimento cheese as an appetizer, shrimp and grits for me and a chicken sandwich for my friend. Was kind of odd, but our entrees came out within minutes, less than 5. Was a huge surprise, so maybe their entrees are all pre-made and set up to just be re-heated? However, it was still really flavorful and good. Bronson, our server, who was super kind and friendly, apologized for the food coming out so quick and much before our appetizer. Really nice of him to do that. We did end up getting the pimento cheese and chips, and it was pretty good. Have had various types of pimento cheese dip, this one was a bit chunky, almost like a tuna salad. It was good, but not my favorite. Love that they have mini versions of their dessert which is perfect for someone like me who just wants a couple bites. Friend had the Mississippi mud pie, and I had the banana pudding. Both were really good and for $6 for both, such a steal! Honestly, that was the only thing on the menu that really caught my eye, unfortunately. I ordered the farmhouse breakfast platter. It was just okay. Nothing impressive. The potatoes were, however, downright horrible. They were burnt, too crispy, and, as a result, devoid of flavor. The other components of the platter were something I could make at home.
