These "gentlemen" and I use the term loosely, are poor excuses for salesmen. My husband just stopped by to see inventory because he is looking for a riding mower. No other cars are in the parking lot mind you which is what we see every time we drive by. Now we can see why! My husband has never seen people with such piss poor attitudes in his life. If you like salesmen that are anti-sales, this is the place for you. How does this company pay for overhead like this. Multiple computer stations with each one manned with no customers ever there? Oh it must be the gross margin they add to the cost that does it. What a ridiculous way to run a business! NEVER going back! Inquire before you have service done as far as price goes. Request a call as to the diagnosis even if it cost you. You could be at 800-1000 quickly. They charge $175.00 /hour to work on equipment. It is the highest in the U.S. Google says the spread on labor rates is: $55-170. That's more than auto dealerships. But snowblowers are rocket science! They said the machine had to go to Salem to the EFI specialist. Another reviewer said similar for a different issue. That's a sales line for we are to busy or my tech is on vacation or he just quit. read more

STAY AWAY - Just Aweful!! Brought my Cub Cadet GT 3100 to Hooksett Turf Depot and they shipped down to Still's (Turf Depot) and these guys are a COMPLETE JOKE. I am a mechanical guy (rebuilding a classic car) and have had the entire front PTO system of this machine off, rebuilt the entire deck (incl finishing), and service the machine annually with the full Kohler kit. That being said, when it comes to a fully sealed hydrostatic transmission slipping under load, I figured it was time to have the machine given a 'once over.' To Still's credit, the machine does have 550 hrs. however, my father's is a 2010 with 850 hrs. and still runs, cuts, and drives like a champ. Also, it should be noted, this machine (during my ownership) has never spent a night outside - garage kept, blown off every mow, and uses a 48" Berco to blow snow in the winter. I was told 3 days to diagnose when I called Hooksett TD, after 1 week they said it needed to go to Manchester TD to their 'specialist'. What an exaggeration that is. After 2 WEEKS in Manchester I started calling as I already had to enlist a cut service for my 3/4 acre yrd. Derek on the phone told me the trans was bone dry and they were trying to figure out where the fluid went. After another week I began calling daily. The first 3 days, the mechanic 'didn't show for work' and then I got the 'specialists' results. Derek said the Cub Cadet Drive Fluid is $17 per qt. and the trans holds 6 qts. Derek and the mechanic said: "THE MACHINE ISN'T WORTH THE $102 WORTH OF FLUID. The Cub with 550 hrs is WELL PAST ITS LIFESPAN and I should CONSIDER REPLACING IT." I was completely floored. This machine has: new front tires, new ball joints, completely rebuilt deck (all pulleys & spindles), new front PTO drive dear, belts, PTO tensioner, seat, just to name a few. WHAT MORONS! Picked it up, it took 2 1/2 quarts of trans fluid (STILL HAD 3 1/2 QTS in it) and now drives like new. My bad for not digging into it and checking the fluid myself, but STILL'S TURFDEPOT is such a disappointment for NOT EVEN TRYING with this machine. They didn't even step into the ring, they just completely checked out. It should be noted as well that when I went to pick up the machine the guys at the service counter were rude and barely gave me the time of day - like they were inconvienced that I was there (as a customer). Especially rude was a largely overweight, slicked back haired gentlemen who was especially nasty. SUCH A JOKE. I attached pics of the mower and the lawn the day I filled the fluid. read more

I wanted to get a new snow blower this year and reached out to a few local power equipment places. Stills was the only one to get back with me and they were going to be getting the machine I was looking for in stock soon. A couple days later Mike O'Neil let me know they had stock. I called him in the evening and ordered it and it was delivered today, just a few days after ordering it. The machine was set up nicely and the delivery driver filled the tank with ethanol free fuel and placed it exactly where I asked him to over my ring doorbell as I was at work. All in all a very positive experience with everyone I dealt with. read more

bought an airens snowblower in October used it twice it broke brought it back to get warranty work covered the part charged $260 for labor would not work with me at all. will never do business with them again will not cover there product they sell. would not recommend to anyone go elsewhere. read more

Many of the guys who work there are fairly friendly up front and appear to want to help. That being said, I went there to buy a part for a Toro lawnmower. It needed to be special-ordered and I prepaid. OK, that's the way it rolls. For almost a WHOLE YEAR, I went back every month or two (except during deepest darkest winter) to see if the part had come in. These folks didn't seem to want to put any effort into making sure that the part ever showed up. I won't even go into the reasons they gave, because they wouldn't be believable. Finally, I asked for my money back, and they insisted they could give me credit. (I had paid cash, and essentially made an interest-free loan for a year. Trying to issue a credit--essentially extending the interest-free loan, this time without even the vague promise of a deliverable--is a warning sign that maybe this business may not be stable.) I had to insist on a cash refund because I am not going back. The guy finished up by telling me "Good luck, you won't be able to find it anywhere." After I went home, I found the SAME EXACT PART on Google Shopping, Amazon, and eBay, all for less to MUCH LESS than what Turf Depot charged me. It took about 10 minutes! Amazon is delivering next week (and if I had been willing to wait a little longer, eBay was considerably cheaper). So the parts department people are not only bad at customer service, they either don't know what they are talking about, or they are less than honest. I don't like to call people liars, so let's just assume the former. It's still a good enough reason to avoid buying parts there, at least if you can't walk out with it in your hot hands. (Even then, given what I've seen in other reviews, I'd think REAL HARD about avoiding Turf Depot and simply ordering it online. Your lawn can wait a week. Better than waiting a year!) I only wish I could get the hours back that I spent screwing around with this business. read more

Bought a snow blower at the end of the season (early April). They are somewhat hard to locate at that time of year. Spoke with the guys on the floor about my needs, various models, used vs new, and price range. There was no pressure, they answered all of my questions, helped me understand the nuances between models, and which ones would likely fit my needs. No issues. Why was this remarkable? After the discussions, I felt like they went out of their way to locate the model I wanted (they had one higher priced model in stock). Called a few area stores, and had it shipped over the next day. On top of that, when I showed up to pick it up, my truck was too small (that's another story all together). They checked with one of the shop guys who hopped up, brought it right to my house free of charge, and went over some of the finer points on the model before leaving. I believe the normal delivery fee is $50? Definitely my new go to for supplies and advice. Great bunch of folks over there! read more

Their estimate for snow blower repair was crazy high. They advised that I replace my carburetor and routine maintenance for $470. They never called to tell me that estimate. I called 6 weeks after dropping it off. I asked how much it would be for everything but the carburetor and they couldn't answer so would call me back. That never happened. The following week I got a text message that my estimate was ready. When I called it was $470, same as the first and no one seemed to know about the first call. Thing is, I had my carburetor replaced the year prior so I felt like they were jacking the price up. It was $60 to get my snowblower back to pay for the estimate 2 months after dropping it off. I had a Snowblower that was working, but it needed some maintenance such as new belts and the powered wheels were not working anymore. I brought it to Stills after getting the thing to start up and run just fine (other than the powered wheels). They told me they wouldn't get to it for 3-4 weeks. That was fine, but after 4 weeks I called and they still had not got to it. 2 weeks later they finally got to it and called me back with a ludicrous quote. The guy who called me quoted me a $1200 fix, which sounded like a scam to me because you can get brand new snowblowers for less than that. The estimate given sounded over inflated and even opinionated about things they thought might need to be done, not that they necessarily needed to be done. I just wanted them to fix it enough to get it to work, not for them to fix it like it was brand new. I got the impression they just wanted me to scrap the old snowblower and buy a new one from them. I can't shake the feeling that they were trying to get as much money out of me as possible because I am not a mechanic. Needless to say I won't be using them in the future, because I just don't trust them. read more

Meh is right. These guys do not know the meaning of customer service. Pricing is right up there for parts too. Seems Stills is more interested in dealing with the Landscape Contractors rather than the average homeowner. read more
